I dont know about how great the doctors are but they need to upgrade their system. I have a virtual insurance card on my phone because its 2021. The woman entered my insurance information but said I couldnt be seen because she couldnt make a copy of my insurance card. They dont have a business email so they only way they can receive anything is via fax machine. I drove 45 mins and ended up having to reschedule my appointment. Now I have to wait another month to get any help.

One year ago I had total hip replacement surgery. I was 54, active and had been suffering with hip pain for 3 years. Dr. Watson was the fourth orthopedic doctor I had seen. Dr. Watson, the process and his staff were incredible. I am pain free and have my life back. If my other hip becomes an issue, I would not hesitate to have Dr. Watson replace it as well. I only wish I had found him sooner.

Will never go back to Grove rd again. They treated me badly because I would not wear a mask under my face shield. I explained that my doctor would not let me wear a mask because of my medical conditions. I did get to see my dr., but I had to go in the back door. I would have left ,if I was not in so much pain. I received a spine injection and Dr. Martin is a wonderful person.

Dr. Batson was fantastic. He was very to-the-point, but not unfriendly. I personally am not a fan of a lot of small talk, so this didnt bother me a bit. I could tell he was extremely knowledgeable and he definitely listened to me.The person at the front desk seemed grumpy at first, but opened up and smiled before we were finished. I was there for less time than I was anticipating, and they seem very efficient. My husband recently went to see a different doctor and had a similar experience. Highly recommended.

Horrible experience with this place twice on the phone. The person who answers the phones is incompetent and plays the upper hand. They cancelled my appointment twice for no good reason. The first time, I called to find out why, she told me it was because of my covid test result. Ps: I was never tested for Covid. The second time they cancelled the appointment through My Chart saying that they’ve been trying to contact me numerous times but I have no voice message indicating that. Total lie. I lost confidence in these people and will not be going back. They do not care or give a hoot in a person’s health and want us to believe that Bon Secours is a compassionate organization.

Took my father in law for hammer toe. Nurse practitioner gave him a toe sleeve with NO instructions. The sleeve got so tight on his toe to now they are going to have to remove it. If the nurse practitioner had given him the instructions to just wear the sleeve when he had shoes on this would have never happened. Now after reading comments about Womack, Im very nervous about this situation.

Update to 2021… have had a total of 9 surgeries and my foot is worse than before my first surgery. CRPS has developed have a spine stimulator implanted and I live in constant pain Thanks Dr Womack2017 had tendon transfer in foot. 3 days after surgery had to go back to doctor due to agony. They took off the splint and my eyes were shocked to what I saw the condition of my foot to be in. Placed me in a walking boot that was so heavy the weight of it did more damage. Dr womack butchered my foot later had 5 more surgeries by another group to repair the 1st surgery done wrong but also because of that first surgery I had MSSA infection that took forever to go away. 3 years later still dealing with the side effects and trying to get relief also found out I just needed a nerve release in my knee instead of tendon transfer. Dr womack like to cut not help

Dr Womack and p.a Kerri are great! the ladies who schedule appointments are RUDE!!! Why its necessary to be b****y over the phone with patients is beyond me. It seems so much easier to be nice, or at the very least polite. Save yourself a headache and schedule online.

I have been sent here twice, for two different issues. I have been trying to have an issue in my foot diagnosed, so that I can wear tennis shoes again. I can wear other shoes, however. The doctor said the bones of my foot were too long, and they needed to be shortened. This was about 5 minutes after I met him. Im not sure surgery to shorten the bones of my foot for a chance to wear tennis shoes is worth it. Ill keep wearing flip flops, thanks. The other nurse practitioner was also little to no help for another issue. They gave me a vague diagnosis, told me Id have to live with it, and then gave me no other information or suggestions, and when I asked, they said, Oh, Im just a surgical consult. Their MRI people were wonderful though -- $186 with BCBS, and it was very fast and smooth.

Ive been here 3 times. The first time I waited for 90 minutes in the waiting room. The next time we called to alert them that I fell on my injury, they didnt listen to their voicemail for 4 days and then rudely asked why we didnt notify them sooner about the fall. They scheduled me for my appointment and we specifically asked which location and was told east side, arrived and got sent downtown. This time I only waited 20 minutes in the waiting room, but Ive been waiting for 50 minutes to see the doctor. Scheduling here needs work. A LOT of work. That said, my doctor I believe is the best in the business. I trust him completely, he did fantastic work on my surgery, has been available off hours, and people around town who asked about my injury actually recommended him.So if you can ever get in to see the doctor you will be very happy.

I have been an ER nurse for several decades and worked written hundreds of physicians and healthcare professionals. Dr. Womack is everything I respected and hoped for in physicians. His bedside manner is calming but never condescending. He is focused in conversation on the patient and family and makes whatever time it takes to answer questions and provide comfort. His interaction with other professionals is appropriate, timely and productive. I say all of these things as a professional myself but would echo them as his patient. His technical skills restored my mobility beyond what I prayed for. He always provided an ear, knowledge and a hand at each visit. He responded to after hour needs like lightening without being harsh or short, always kind and patient. I can recognize quality in a healthcare provider and he is a shining example of what we each hope to have as someone who holds a large piece of our lives in his hands.

I was not ready for that so I went back recently and got X-ray again and didn’t even mention L1 told me my sciatica pain was coming from L5 .. What ! So they tell to get MRI ... I had to call back two weeks later to find out what’s going on? They haven’t even contacted my insurance company yet! They called back week half later left voice mail said all was good to go? I called back and ask about insurance pay out and out of pocket then the lady tells me they don’t have all info from insurance! Very unprofessional, rude, hung up on me because I was telling the lady their what I’ve been through!! These people have no idea how to deal with people or helping people.... BEWARE !

I’ve had two surgeries on my right leg by Dr Vann. They are outstanding at what they do! Everyone was wonderful and informative.I have a fractured foot now and I am only considering POA as my health provider! I can’t believe the poor revues, I have a feeling some of the patients with the poor reviews have problems with many businesses they encounter. The industry is very demanding and people in pain are often foul tempered and unable to focus on anything but their own issues.I look forward to the help I will receive soon.

Amy hunt was the NP that performed the assessment but I was scheduled with Dr. Breedan Hollis and upset to get replaced as Dr hollis holds neurology and orthopedic board holding and I wanted his educated assessment and opinion but instead got amy creaming her panties about Breedans creditials. She was in a big hurry leaving the room talking about muscle relaxers as she is leaving my room but not fully discussing any of it with me. she kept insisting of pain management and assuming I was a product of the opiate crisis which upset me being in severe acute pain. the chiropractor cynthia horner helped me, my spine had pinched several nerves in my neck and thoracic area. no pain medicine could have helped that and I needed a chiropractor s help. I have been improving since visiting cynthia horner every month for last year and $50 a visit is affordable and I notice a big difference in pain management with each adjustment

I dont understand all the horrible reviews! Ive been seeing Dr. Womack for almost two years (as the need arises) for my feet. He is the most amazing doctor I have ever seen (and I have been to quite a few due to my husband being in the Army for 26 years)! He is patient, kind, compassionate, and truly tries his best to help me. He performed a sesamoidectomy (a tiny bone in the ball of the foot) because it was cracked in half. It was quick and he explained everything I needed to know. Now, I have a fracture on my left heel with a bone spur and it is not healing with the boot Ive worn for 7 weeks. I go back tomorrow to follow up after my MRI. He is the ONLY doctor I have EVER looked forward to seeing. Yes, he is THAT amazing.I have never been treated rudely by any of the staff at either of their locations. In fact, they have helped me patiently and with respect each time I have had any questions or problems with insurance. Im exceedingly pleased. If you ever have problems with your feet, I highly recommend Dr. Womack!By the way, my husband is retired military and we are living on a meager fixed income, so Im not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination, and I am still treated very well by all.

Very poor communication. I called on February 28 to schedule 2nd injection (lower back pain) because the first one did not work. I told them I just got a new insurance plan, in order to make sure everything would approve. They said that it would be fine, just bring my new card. So, I went today with my new card and they told me I needed to reschedule so they can precertify injection. They rescheduled me for March 17. So what am I supposed to do, sit in pain for two weeks? Or would it be better to go to primary Doc and get painkillers and possibly end up on heroin?

I’ve had several surgeries at POA. I have always had excellent care from Drs Batson, Tollison, Jernigan, and Womack. My grandson, who lives in Ft Lauderdale FL, needed surgery on his wrist so we had him come here so Dr Batson could do the needed surgery for him. He did an excellent job for him. We are very pleased with the care we’ve received at Piedmont Orthopaedic Associates. The staff is friendly and professional and the physicians are all Top Notch. Joe Smith

Do NOT see Dr. Thomas Baumgarten or Dr. John Paylor (Sports Medicine/Arthroscopy). I have seen Dr. Baumgarten, and a member of my family was unfortunate enough to see Dr. Paylor. These men share identically despicable attitudes. If your issue does not show up immediately on an x-ray, they will prescribe diclofenac sodium, physical therapy/shove a list of vaguely illustrated exercises at you, and tell you to see them in a month.I explained that my shoulder pain has slowly increased over years, before sharply imitating a heart attack earlier this year (confirmed to have no pulmonary or cardiac issues), and Dr. Baumgarten asked what, exactly, I wanted him, a surgeon, to do about it. He told me he had no idea why my PCP would send me to a surgeon when I didnt need surgery, apparently unaware that hes listed as a sports medicine doctor on the website.I finally convinced Dr. Baumgarten to send me for MRIs due to the incapacitating pain, and the MRI reports described bulging discs, torn interverbral discs, etc. He insisted these were mild issues and that I didnt need any time off from work at a job that aggravated the symptoms because I had medicine to manage it. When I expressed worry that I would be incapacitated due to aggravation from the job duties, he ignored me.He was, however, kind enough to sign off on 6 weeks of physical therapy and to prescribe diclofenac sodium for the duration of my therapy. When I asked what I was supposed to do once those 6 weeks were up and I was still in pain, he told me I couldnt expect him to fix my fibromyalgia (after repeatedly insisting I have tendonitis and that my pain was exaggerated due to my pain disorder). I gave up, did the 6 weeks of physical therapy, am still doing the exercises, and am still in pain.Dr. Paylor told my relative that his knee problems would be fixed by losing weight, despite having been told first thing that these knee problems started when my relative was an 8-year-old, average weight child. My relative is very active, chasing kids during football practice, stooping and crouching and crawling around cars and lawnmowers, and going on miles-long walks by himself or with friends, and his knee problems are getting worse and worse. Paylor didnt want to hear it.Paylor prescribed diclofenac sodium without describing what the medication was, instead telling my relative this would help his knee. He also gave my relative a visual chart of exercises to do with no further instruction except to return in 3-4 weeks. When I and my relative explained that he was unable to swallow pills and asked for a liquid alternative, Paylor insisted the pills could be crushed up and put into yogurt to be taken. If youre unaware as to what diclofenac sodium is, it is a painkiller thats something like a step above ibuprofen. It has a coating designed to protect your stomach. When the prescription is filled, the pharmacy puts a sticker on the bottle stating DO NOT CRUSH OR CHEW because this medication WILL hurt your stomach. These doctors are PATHETIC at best. At worst, they will get you hurt. I dont know how the other two sports medicine/arthroscopy doctors are, but stay far, far away from these jokers.
