I used to attend this gym daily when I lived in Greenville, NC- for a period of 5 years. I moved away two years ago. I was in town a week ago and decided to have a morning workout. Things have changed a bit, but I did enjoy my stay! Anyway, what I enjoyed most? The space! Everything is spaced well apart, so although many would workout at once during peak hours, I’d never actually experience claustrophobia. Secondly, there’s tons of gym equipment on both floors of the gym. On the top floor, there’s a room with a turf area in addition to squat racks, standard barbells (which are also located in the bottom floor), rowing machines, plyometric boxes, medicine balls and yoga mats. Outside this room, you have a variety of cable machines and gym equipment used for both cardio and resistance training. There’s also a studio room where classes take place. Bottom floor consists of several racquetball courts and rooms filled with stationary bikes- which I never personally used. I only knew classes would take place here. Anyway, my favorite section of the gym is the former basket ball court (where I used to jog). It was remodeled completely a handful of years ago. They did-away with the basketball hoop nets and poles and filled the room with modern gym machines- Roc It. I love these machines! They literally rock when they’re in-use, which help utilize and activate the target muscle. For example, I attached an image of one of my favorites: Standing Calf Raise. My calves be burning! 😄 Beautiful colors were also incorporated in the renovated gym: red, blue and a mustard yellow, which sincerely gave life to the gym. It used to be dully colored. Something mgmt. should consider? Replacing the plyometric boxes and yoga mats. Although once new, they’re worn-out today. I even noticed area where the walls didn’t look as vibrant and clean as when first painted. I didn’t go out of my way looking for defects, but just happened to come across these imperfections. Lastly? I loved the gym environment- the people! I left behind a great gym family! 🥲 And fyi, it was easy to end my contract here! All it took was a phone call.

I recently joined this gym and I love the atmosphere and changes. I came here a few years ago and found this gym was previously PULSE. I think the trainers are great, the manager Jessica is so HOT!!!!! I love to see her when shes working - so friendly! For the price I pay, its amazing all the extras that are better than going to a Planet Fitness.

Equipment is up-to-date. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Trainers are knowledgeable and experienced in reaching individuals goals. Personal trainers are on the high side but well worth it.

I like this gym a lot but the hours have to change for me to keep my membership here and I know this applies to others as well. Closing at five on Saturdays and Eight on Fridays? It’s so early and with busy schedules makes it extremely difficult. And during the week they always close by ten which isn’t too bad but that should at least be their close time everyday. Other gyms like planet fitness or champions are open 24 hours which is very convenient. Other than this it is a good gym.

Its a good spacious gym with separate rooms for machines, free weights and cardio. Only drawback is they close crazy early on weekends. $10 a month made it a no brainer for me tho. 💪🏾

The gym was pretty awesome. I liked the free weight section but most importantly the core room did it for me. Love it! Will definitely visit again. 💪💪💪💪💪💪

The price is the only thing this gym has to offer. The hours are terrible, the gym is full of cheap or broken equipment, all the floors are uneven. The staff is nice, but there’s no priority in keeping up the facilities. When something breaks it just stays broken. Going here is just frustrating experience every time.

The lack of professionalism of this gym is shocking.First, the customer service is subpar as the employees come across as aloof and unwelcoming.Second, the cancellation policies at this gym are horrendous and coercive. Given the transient nature of people living in a college town the process to cancel a membership should not require an in-person visit. After several times beings placed on hold with waitlists supposedly of 90+ minutes (according to the automated service system), I had to call under the guise of attempting to start a new membership in order to actually speak to someone. As someone who values honesty, this shady practice is not indicative of a well run business especially given that this issue could be easily remedied with an option to cancel online.Third, after cancelling the company has a policy (which is not listed on the terms of the contract agreement available online) that requires one to pay an additional month of membership fees. If this is a policy list it on the membership policy page and dont confidently state that it is if you are not sure.TL;DR--Shady business, with unprofessional and aloof employees, that seek to make cancellation difficult and milk as much money as possible out of its members.

My only gripe is that the lady in the morning has lost the value of good customer service in place of rude mask shaming remarks regarding my mask. If a mask is going to be enforced and enforced a certain way then do so professionally. 2020 has had enough for everyone so no sense in adding to the pressures with rude poor customer service.

Ive been going to Fitness Connection for the past year and a half and I can say that to this day I still enjoy it. I love how clean their facilities are and how they provide a wide variety of gym equipment. I also enjoy how friendly the staff is, in particular the assistant manager, Carlos. He always greets my boyfriend and I with a smile and makes us feel like a part of the FC family! Ask for him if youre considering signing up. He gives the best tours and will answer all your questions to a T, you wont regret it!

I have been a member of this club for over 30 years and I love being a member. I have other gym memberships but I choose to workout at fitness connection. One of the highlights is that I am a early riser due to my work schedule so I can get to the gym at 0500 in the morning and young lady Kristy Dickinson is always there to greet the members with a smile and has always been willing to provide the guest with anything they need within reason. it takes courage and dedication to get up at that time of the morning to serve those who need to get a workout in before heading off to to their respective services. What a awesome person to have on your staff

Great fitness gym. What I appreciate most is their equipment is always working. Don’t recall “out of order” signs plastered on the equipment. The staff is cool and laidback. I use this place 6-7 days a week. No gripes. 👍🏾

I have been a fitness fanatic ever since I have stepped foot into this gym. Fitness connection gym has its own unique structure. This gym stands out from the others I have attended in my past. Fitness connection is an exceptionally clean building. The employees never disregard one customer. They always attend full service to our needs and questions. Trey is a phenomenal man with an outstanding and superior customer service to each and every member of this gym. I would give this gym a try. I’ve signed up about 2 months ago. Lots of equipment, classes, and space. The different membership rates are weird but you can get a good deal. The pool has also been closed for years, apparently under maintenance. Sometimes the sauna in the women’s locker room isn’t working. Besides that I have enjoyed my experience at this gym.

Fitness connection is one of the best gyms I have ever been to. I never have to struggle to get to a machine or bench. Really a great gym for a great price! Great management!

Kids Club is great! The teachers are so loving and caring. They make it possible for parents to have a great workout. The cycling classes are excellent with very knowledgeable instructors.

There was a $0 enrollment fee the week before I signed up and the week after I signed up. It just so happened that the day I came in the promotion had ended. Every day I walk in now it seems there is a sign that says $0 enrollment fee. Fair warning for those thinking about signing up for membership. Wait until they offer no enrollment fees otherwise they will take advantage. 3 stars because staff is very friendly and welcome free fitness advice if you ask.

Worst gym. We have tried to cancel membership since February. We have written a letter and called the corporate and local office 100 times to confirm cancellation. Recently, In october my credit card was charged for my wifes account and my account. After leaving tons of messages with front office finally got a hold of a manager. He admitted that he received the messages but still didnt call us. This place is horrible. Dont join. They will not let you cancel and they will keep charging you. Worse enough we have to worry about covid and then you have unprofessional people that cant do something simple like cancel membership. They will make you call corporate office and then local office and then write letters. And then they will still charge you.

Big facility with a wide variety of options. Would definitely like to see a basketball court soon! Staff is also very nice and friendly! (Morgan is very cool!)

Been going to Fitness Connection for over 2 years..love the facilities. There are tons of machines an weights in different areas so Ive never felt crowded during my workout. The atmosphere isnt intimidating for anyone no matter what level of fitness you are at. Ive even worked with a couple of the personal trainers who were very knowledgable and fun to work with. Staff here have always been friendly and helpful. I would recommend this gym to anyone!

Listen fitness connection is great and all but I just hate the fact that the pool is not open and yes I do know that was not relevant but you guys did say that you would get rid of it because we needed more parking so I just think that it’s taking forever and y’all are not doing nothing about it that’s just my question are you getting rid of it or keeping and re-opening the pool? Ive been a member of this gym for almost 3 years. The recent improvements are great. The womens locker room serves the needs of most us. The only disappointment is that they removed the steam room. The new weight room has a lot of equipment even though I seldom use it. I usually stay upstairs. They should have painted the racket ball courts when they did the renovations. Most of the new staff are very friendly and always ask me if I am enjoying my workout. lol I would have given it five stars except I dont like and this is with most gyms is that the staff does not show you how to use the weight equipment. Most people are left to their own devices trying to figure out how to use them. I prefer free weights but have no idea if my form is correct and no one to show me the right way so I dont injure myself. They could use more personal attention without having to hire an expensive personal trainer. I guess I could go to Planet Fitness if I want a FREE personal trainer.

Several years back before it was under the management of Trey, I was a member here I left because it seemed that they were in the business of mainly turning profit over helping others to achieve health and fitness goals. Today(01/30/20) I went back in just on a whim, and thanks to Trey for talking/helping me Im back in at this gym. Especially since they cut ties with ABC Financial, that was a nice drawback to pull me back in at Fitness Connection.

Be very careful of your credit card. I canceled personal training in writing three different ways. Was still charged. Contacted them for refund and no one called me back. Sent it to my bank and they told the bank they refunded money. Bank wouldn’t help. Went back to them and they told me my bank gave me money. Proved they didn’t. They told me they would refund it and are now again not answering emails sent last week or the follow up from a few days later. This has been months of multiple phone calls and emails and hours of my time each time having to refresh the memory of the accounting representative things we have already talked about and put in writing. This also happened to two other people I know and representatives at the gym told me the inability to cancel a drafting process is a known issue they have. Gym and staff otherwise are fine and I had intended to go back with personal training but I will never do it again based on this issue and would not recommend them.Update: Did receive check refunding total amount of August personal training in late November.

This is a good gym, but when it comes to being clear on the payments and the yearly charges. They are not clear. Ive had several extra charges to my account that i did not expect. And i made it clear when i signed up that i needed to know exactly how much i would be expecting month to month. I live on a limited salary, itd important for me to know how much to expect from them.

Great equipment and great staff. The sauna is a huge plus. Only gym in the city with this luxury I believe . Would highly recommend !

The gym itself is great, lots of different machines, classes, and they have a in house daycare which my girls loved going to. However, the company policies are not customer friendly at all. They billed my personal training membership to the wrong card, causing two of my automatic bills to default for the month and there was no way to reverse the charge and bill the correct card. Ive tried multiple times to get a hold of the person in charge of personal training to but my membership on hold because life was too busy and he never called me back. When I finally was able to get in contact with him, he said he couldnt help me, even though he had said come to him if I needed to place my account on hold or canceled and he would work with me. You are nothing more than dollar signs to this gym, Id stay clear.

I came to this gym hoping to change myself. I found the gym to offer a good assortments of activities for anybodys level of fitness. I am sad to say that this gyms financial process is poorly run. I payed a month early in mid December, and was charged a second time of $22. I simply took this as a billing mistake. I called them and tried to get the issue resolved. Each time they said something different. In the past 3 weeks I called 7 times and expressed my concerns about getting my refund back from. I finally called my bank and filed a claim. I am happy to say that my bank payed me back my money. If this happens to you, cancel your membership, call your bank and file a claim, and keep all your records.

I just joined and so far I love this gym! Im a college student but I dont like the rec center so I joined because my friends recommended it. The price is great and there is a lot of equipment for all different workouts. They also have a sauna and a steam room that I LOVE. The people who attend are very diverse- all different ages and fitness levels.

Update: 2-21-2020: Unsurprisingly, I didnt get a response from the customer service address included in the reply to my review. Yes, I checked my spam/junk folder. Yes, Im continuing to be billed.The cancellation process is a nightmare. I asked about it at the front desk of my local gym (Greenville, NC), and they directed me to the website, which directed me to a phone number, which directed me back to the website where I finally found the form. I filled it out and submitted it, and I was supposed to receive a confirmation email. Its been days, and I havent received an email so Im probably about to launch into months of song and dance with them in an effort to get my membership cancelled while they continue billing me with an additional 30 day billing cycle on top of that once I finally get the membership cancelled.

With the new weight room, this is THE spot for weight training. Great prices. Great staff. Everybody is friendly and helpful. Clean gym. Everything tidy (very important to me).I never did any classes buy they were always full when I walked by (great sign, right?). I was very sad to leave this gym when I moved.

This location of fitness connection in Greenville North Carolina is managed very poorly! My daughter was a member in 2018 and has had a very difficult time terminating her membership I do not recommend joining this fitness connection! very hard to terminate membership once you give them your debit and credit card !!

I have cancelled my membership 3+ times and when I speak to a representative on the phone they just keep saying “we have changed ownership and we have lost all the previous information” one has even told me they were unorganized. Then after speaking to them tell me my membership is cancelled, I’m good to go. But then continue to call me every couple of months telling me my balance.

I’ve been going here for a little over two and a half years and this is the place to be, the rates are affordable and you have two solid floors of gym equipment to utilize — from free weights, specific machines, cardio equipment and rooms dedicate for certain classes (yoga, Pilates, Zumba, etc). To top it all off the staff are incredibly friendly and wonderful. Definitely recommend coming here to anyone that is looking for a gym membership. The only downside is the gym isn’t 24/7 but I definitely fit my time in.

I started a couple weeks ago and got to say , I’m loving it !!!!! Everyone is so nice and welcoming and very helpful ! I just finished my free 1 hr personal trainer session with Brandon and he was awesome !!!! He was so nice and polite and didn’t make me feel bad when I couldn’t quite do the exercises right the first few times . I would definitely choose him for my personal trainer!!!! I have nothing but excellent things to say about this gym. First of all, this is the only gym I have ever signed up at in my whole 23 years. When I called they asked me to come in the next day to speak to someone. When I went in I got to meet Trey (definitely the best manager they have there by the way!) and he gave me a tour of the whole gym and the kids club. The gym seemed so huge to me I would have gotten lost if Trey wasn’t there lol. It wasn’t long before I was all signed up and out the door. Ever since I started going Im always greeted by smiling faces as soon as I come in the door. I love the fact that all classes are included and you don’t have to pay extra for them like at other gyms. I was scared to do any of the classes because I thought I would feel judged or maybe the people there would be more advanced than me. But I took all that back as soon as I tried a few classes. I love all of the energy from the instructors and their MOTIVATION during the class. I love that they involve God honestly. The classes are as also as challenging as you want them to be and instructors are always there trying to push you to go a little stronger. I LOVE IT. The hours for the kids club are definitely something I can easily fit in my daily schedule. Staff at the kids club are super nice and are always trying to make sure they take the best care of your children. They gym is PACKED with sooo many different kinds of equipment. I have definitely gotten some great workouts in thanks to all the equipment they have available. I could really go on and on but I think the review is long enough and I have gotten my point across that I love this gym and definitely recommend it to anyone that’s looking for one.EDIT EDIT EDIT REALLY QUICK******Because i completely forgot to mention that they also have a women’s only workout room where I go in all the time just because I really hate working out in front of other people. I get very self conscious still. It’s small but it has everything I need to get a good work out. I only pay a few bucks a month for ALL of it. The gym, the kids club, the classes, the personal space. It really can’t get better than this y’all.

Awful pricing scheme. Cannot do week to week membership, month to month requires you paying a strange fee. They ask weird questions about your personal life when you go in...this seems extraordinarily intrusive and a bit creepy. Prices also are not divulged on the website... it’s whatever they think they can get out of each individual person. Just seems like a shady biz.

My wife and my daughter have been members for years. I have been too. I usually take my daughter to work out and wait there. Today when I nicely and politely asked the owner (or the manager for that matter) to turn the TV to World Cup soccer game so that I dont have to drive home to watch the game then drive back to pick my daughter up, he arrogantly refused although nobody else was watching it.Well, you lose two memberships because of your awful customer service.

Good gym for a great price. With the higher up front joining fee, at $10 a month it is hard to beat. There is a wide variety of equipment available in several different settings throughout the gym. There is the cardio cinema, the turf room, an open bay with free weights, an area with cable machines and treadmills, racquetball courts, child care, and an array of classes by Les Mills. It has been recently renovated, and is one of the nicest gyms I have been to.

I cancelled my subscription back in October of LAST year (2019) after only having it for two weeks because I hated the facility and they’re still charging me to this day because I got an email about a late fee for charges for the past 4 months when I haven’t even gone to that gym. Worst gym ever. Don’t even apply to go there.

WOW!!!!! What a surprising upgrade since my last visit on spring break. I thoroughly appreciate the sleek, new, modern locker rooms that give better privacy!! Kristy, the front desk receptionist was awesome in welcoming me as a visitor!!! Awesome!!!

For ten bux a month, how could anyone gripe about this place? I thought it was pretty good before the remodel and now its outstanding. The child care costs extra, but worth it if you go a few times a week. Theyre always friendly and I trust them with my kids for an hour.

Place is fine but good luck trying to cancel. I canceled a month ago and am still dealing with it. I told them I was unable to afford anymore, canceled after a missed payment which I later paid, and still got charged an annual fee three days before they processed my cancellation, even after I couldn’t afford the last payment.I was a member for two months but apparently they bill “annual fees” at the end of July no matter how long you’ve been there. Ended up paying late fees on top of that, even though they knew I couldn’t afford it anymore.Should not be done this way. Annual fees each July? Wait till August to join, and again, good luck canceling.

Nice environment. Nice place to get in shape. Staff needs to take better care to clean and sanitize showers and sauna. Never smells clean. Usually has an odor. Please disinfect!

Horrible customer service. Ive been trying to cancel for months. Ive emailed, filled out online forms, sent a registered letter to the local office and I have written the billing company. Apparently the billing company changed. The rep said they never received my information. Now after months of calls I received a letter from a collection agency. If anyone is owed money its me.

DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE. This business is extremely shady. They have continued to charge me under different account names such as “ABC* FITNESS CONNECTION,” and “FITNESS CONNECT GREENVILLE,” after I canceled my membership 4 months ago. I have been a member here for 3 years and I have never had a major problem with this facility! The staff are always so welcoming and kind!

I have been a member of this gym for years, and the highlight of my summer is the use of the pool. Now they are planning on closing the pool to put in a parking lot???? I spoke with a manager about my disappointment and she basically said, rudely, I might add, too bad. Do the customers have no say at all about this decision? The only reason I am still there is that I am hoping they change their minds about the pool. Wouldnt increasing the pool fees or something offset its cost and help solve the parking problem another way? I would not mind paying a little more to have access to the pool. I have never had any problem parking, so Im assuming it must be during times I dont go, but the response of management when I shared my concern was disconcerting. I guess my years of membership and several recommendations that resulted in new members for the gym doesnt mean much. Very disappointed. I could join Planet Fitness for less money and why not, if there is no pool and my opinion is not cared about?Update: I spoke to another manager about the pool and said that several people have asked me about joining but then backed out when they learned the pool is closing. He said, thats okay. Were not a water park. Okay, I get it that they need more parking, but is it necessary to be so rude? Ive been a member there for about 8 years and never complained about anything.

I have been a member at Fitness Connection since before it was Golds Gym. I was in auto accident two years ago and couldnt use the facilities for a while then lost my motivation and continued to have my account drafted ($30.99/month) for those two years, thinking I would eventually return. I decided to return this past Monday and brought a guest. On Tuesday my guest signed up and I asked about reducing my monthly membership to the $19.95 my guest signed up for. I was assured the manager would call me that day, he didnt. I have never had any complaints about Fitness Connection until I had to deal with Rick, the general manager today. He originally said he could change it for a $20 processing fee. I politely asked if there was a way to waive that since I had been a member at least 10 years. He was very rude and told me the $20 processing fee option was no longer available. I am pretty sure he skipped Fitness Connection Corporate Training on Customer Service because he was an outright jackass in the 5 minutes I was speaking with him and I called him the same. I immediately went home and cancelled my membership and have the verification email that says it ends the end of December thankfully! I also called my bank and cancelled the draft! I went to visit other gyms today and have heard from some of their employees he is the main reason that they left. I know a few other people who have left the gym because of his horrible attitude and now I am one of those people. Ive never left a yelp review or review of any kind for that matter but I felt like I needed to so others dont get treated like I have. DO NOT join this gym until they find a replacement for the general manager!

Great gym. A lot of room to get your work in!
