I only wish there was an office closer to Jacksonville, NC

If it was possible I would rate it below 0!!!!! Sub par care and your opinion counts for anything. If you want to be treated with little respect and dignity, you will feel right at home. Guaranteed to keep you in the same place in your pain management. The physician will spend approximately 5 minutes, while you wait 3 to 6 hrs. Be ready to do 25 pages of paperwork each time, asking the same questions each time. Its ridiculous, nasty, and a money scheme.

Worse place ever. They will have you sitting in the waiting room over 2 hours that doesnt include your wait in the back. They over book like crazy...

I hate to agree with the previous reviews, but they arent exaggerating at all. I had moved from out of state and this was the place my insurance sent me to. I truly never experienced anything like it. Lets put it this way, the thought of knowing I had an upcoming appt would make me physically ill and cause tremendous anxiety because of how awful the process was. Dr. Plummer was very nice and compassionate doc, but he is only one person and its not fair to expect him to be able to swim thru the flood of patients to keep up. What did tick me off was having a 9am appt scheduled, but the office would be aware in advance that the scheduled doc wasnt due to arrive till 9:30. I know the docs and staff do try, but at same time, if you have an issue that falls outside the norms, like needing to be out of state when next appt is scheduled, there was zero flexibility. I wasnt attempting to get refill earlier, I simply asked if I could take Rx with me to get filled on the date written on Rx. I was told NO, cuz I had signed a contract to go to a specific pharmacy. I asked for permission to go to an out of state pharmacy for a one time purpose and was told NO. Also, when I first moved to NC, I had a change of insurance and med needed to be changed over to the approved brand for new insurance. The pharmacist let doc office know that he couldnt fill the Rx as written, and just needed to speak to the doc to ask which option doc wanted. Instead of the office manager passing the correct message to the doc to clear the confusion, she insisted that I HAD to make an appt to fix the problem. I told her the pharmacist merely needed a verbal confirmation but instead, I was forced to go without any meds, drive to an office location even further away and go thru the horrible long 4-6 hr appt process, only for the doc to point out that this could have been dealt with over phone. My husband had to drive me for procedure, he had went to use the restroom. Of course there was no soap, nor paper towels which is the norm there. My husband went to the sign in desk and asked for paper towels and was told they dont keep paper towels in bathroom cuz these people dont know how to toss in to trashcan and flush it instead My husband was offended by such a derogatory comment. Too many times certain staff (not all) do treat patients sub human like. I understand the need to have regulations, office guidelines etc, but this place is unforgiving when it comes to understanding that life does not fit into their box of standards. The visits were so bad that I couldnt go back, I went without my meds, I stretched out my last Rx for several months until quality of life hit rock bottom. Luckily, my husbands company switched insurance companies, which opened up new pain docs. Now instead of driving 45 mins and sitting 4-6 hrs for appt, I drive 2 miles and am usually in and out in 20-30 mins. The Heag Pain clinic is like a trip thru hell. The appts are exhausting and no human should have to go thru that once per month. I wish I understood the nature of why the office is in such bad shape, why the process is so horrible. Every pain doc has same guidelines that are required by law to be followed. Why my current clinic runs so smooth, as it should, while this one creates so much anxiety and stress is head scratching!

Worst place ever! Nasty bathrooms, never was anything to dry my hands on. Dr takes at least 4 hours before you get seen! The office in general is dirty! I even received an epidural with no local anaesthesia! I cried in pain for days! AWEFUL PLACE

You have to wait for hours to be seen. There are not enough seats to accommodate every one. The doctors dont spend any time w you & they are mean,have bad attitudes & treat everyone like they are drug addicts.

I take my mother here and this is by far the worst healthcare clinic I have ever been to. Its understood that doctors appointments can sometimes be lengthy. But when you take your elderly mother to a place that you sit and wait for 5-6 hours just for prescription refills (3) at that, and find out they have one doctor working with a 60 patient day, it makes you think a little . Do they even care?? Nope they dont! my mom likes the nurses and they are nice. We actually feel sorry for them as well because they dont get out till late either. The doctor is also nice, but unfortunatly nice will not ease my moms pain and she is so worn out from these visits. Unfortunatly with pain doctors its like you are at there mercy because its hard to find a good one, that has been the problem my mom cant get her medicine without going to this ridiculous office. So if all you are looking for is a nice staff well then you can rate this office a 5 . If you value time like most people do now, then 1 star it is. I would have rated a 3 or 4 if the office visit was like two -3 hours long bc that would be acceptable. I am really just angry bc I am the one that sees my mom in so much pain and hurt from sitting so long and she has been through so much. I am her protector and to let anyone mess with her upsets me. And we asked the doctor to let us know if it would be long like this we could bring her in later. Its not good business practice to book so many patients have them wait and keep your staff there till 8 or later at night !
