I love this hospital. I actually stopped going to my primary care about 7 years ago because this is a one stop shop. Always exceptional care and in a timely fashion. I love this place because they have everything and don’t have to send you to a million other places. I personally know the couple who own 2 facilities and they do an amazing job running them .

This location does not have a problem with care but it does have a huge problem with billing. This has happened to me several times. Most recently, they were not honest up front on cost when I arrived. Later, I received a large bill which I paid. I never received another bill. One day, nine months later, they randomly charged my credit card for another amount without authorization. Now, a year and a half later, I get a text from a random number stating that I have a balance that is going to collections. Meanwhile, I have not received any bills for any overdue balance and the last bill I received was paid. Its not professional. Ive never had this experience anywhere else. Due to the multiple reviews, its obviously a problem which they do not care to address. I wont be returning.

Worst place ever! Get ready to be asked for money three times before you even get seen by anyone or greeted, for that matter. First thing the medical assistant said to us was, you know you have a $40 copay for today. After I had just paid them $112! She didnt introduce herself or anything, just you owe money. This place used to be good, I guess they are under new management that has stopped their patient care first mission. Also, had to wait for three hours just to get a simple xray. This place has really gone down hill. I wont be back!!

My husband had a laceration that required some stitches. We walked in and waited a little bit before he could be seen. It was very apparent that they don’t get much downtime since patients were steadily coming in. The facility was clean and they did a great job of keeping the waiting room at an appropriate capacity which provided a safer environment in terms of Covid. They did have to implement a waiting list which requires patients to wait elsewhere until they receive a phone call. We had the pleasure of working with Lauren, Ashley, Shiva, and Dr. Brancati. We can always count on this location to thorough.

I came in to get my hand checked, injured from playing basketball. The doctor said that I may need surgery and he recommended me to a hand surgeon who should be calling me soon. The next day I got a call from a therapist wanting to schedule therapy for my FOOT! They said that was what emergency MD told them. I went back to the clinic after a week and told them that I still have not heard back from the hand surgeon. They said theyre sorry, and that was it. Sadly, no actions were done. My fear is that my hand is about to heal and it will heal the wrong way because I never got the surgery I needed. I paid almost $300 to Emergency MD for nothing basically. My hand is still injured. I cannot get surgery without doctor referals. Im forced to do the same check and pay the same amount at another clinic. I hope my experience with this clinic is unique and that other patients would not share the same bad experience.

On September 14, 2021, around 2:55pm, I arrived to this facility with my sister who was having what it seemed to be a stroke. We chose this facility because it was the closest medical facility near her job, but unfortunately I didn’t grab her purse because I was rushing with her to get medical attention. When we arrived, I helped her get out of the car because she didn’t have any balance. However, two of the receptionists on the right side of the counter were just looking and they didn’t even bother to approach us to ask if we needed a wheelchair. On top of that, I asked if they can provide her a mask and the response was that they weren’t allowed to provide any because they didn’t have enough. I promptly responded to her that I needed to register my sister and that she needed medical attention. She asked why she was here for and I said that she is having trouble seeing through her left eye, she has pain on her left side of her head, she is loosing her balance, and her mouth is twisting to the right. The receptionist said I need her picture ID, insurance card, and a debit card to have on file, as she was requesting her documentation I replied back, explaining to her that I was rushing with her because this was an emergency and I forgot to grab her purse. The receptionist ignored the symptoms completely and replied back denying her medical attention due to not having identification. I left the facility and rushed to the nearest hospital that I can think of at the time, and in less than an hour I received a phone call from the doctor stating that it looks like she was having a stroke. What kind of place denies medical attention to someone showing signs o a stroke? and their only concern was a debit card! It seem to that some medical facilities have forgetting what being a doctor is. However, is it actually the place fault or the people they have working there??

The front desk staff was great. Very nice and professional. Also, the lab techs were great. My issue is with an incident concerning one of the owners of the company using the R word while talking over a speakerphone to an employee who answered the phone incorrectly. This was all done in the waiting room lobby where everyone could hear. While he berated the guy who answered the phone and told him how unprofessional he was, the gentleman obviously wasnt concerned with his own professionalism in front of patients. One of the core values is Be the Best. This was far from it.

Clean, nice facilities, friendly staff. Inefficient triage (untrained assistant who had no idea what she was doing but was very sweet). Saw a mid-level practitioner and had to beg for my pain to be taken seriously by sobbing in a hallway. Care delayed due to poor relationships with surrounding hospitals. Once I arrived where they had called ahead, I had to be transferred to a third facility/second hospital because my care was not arranged for appropriately. Definitely room for growth, but for less severe illnesses this is probably okay. Think more urgent care than emergency department.

This place is so HORRIBLE. I honestly don’t know how they stay in business? I went there yesterday around 5 pm for a routine pre employment physical to find the doors were locked and there was a sign on the door claiming they due to no supplies they were only allowing EMTs in. Made no sense to me. As a NURSE and one who worked at the start of the covid outbreak I know that no supplies is NEVER an excuse to shut your doors. If that’s the case over half the hospitals in this country would have shut down during covid. This is sheer and blatant disregard for their clients and this place should be boycotted until they shut down. They NEVER EVER answer the phone so don’t even bother trying to call in to ask if they’re even open. I will be reporting them to the better business bureau and yes that are extremely slow because I walked in one day and they LITERALLY had a line of people hanging out the front door. SAD and a very poor excuse for a healthcare establishment. The energy in there is off and the employees do look and feel sad and/or on edge. Just look at the owner’s response to bad reviews on here. If that does not scream sloppy and incompetence to you and encourages you to steer clear of this train wreck place then I don’t know what will.

Note: I used my Cigna app to find this place, so I knew it was in-network. Also, Im going to copy-paste our first email interaction for context.Hello! I recently moved to Greenville and am looking for a primary care doctor. I havent had one for many years. My insurance plan with Cigna covers all the basic preventative care, like vaccinations, wellness exams, screenings, etc. Could I book an appointment to get set up, or is your focus on emergency visits, and it would be more appropriate to get set up with a regular doctors office? Let me know, thank you! They responded:Absolutely. Walk in any time for primary care. No appointment needed. We have many primary care patients.thxdbCool. I went to the location a couple days later and they said that actually I DO need an appointment for a primary care visit. So, they scheduled me for a week later, Friday 10 AM. A week goes by, I get there Friday morning, and the place is closed. There were several unhappy veterans in the parking lot who came from out of town for some VA testing. One gentleman came all the way from Knoxville, TN for a 9:30 AM appointment. None of us were notified of office closure. Theres a note on the door from the previous day, Feb 20th, saying they were closing early (4 PM) because of an incoming light flurry. But, the forecast said the next day, day of my appointment, was going to be sunny. Its a beautiful day out, and even the directly-adjacent dental office is open. I took these pictures at 10:40 AM. Observe the weather. This practice might be awesome, but its a little lacking in the communication department so far. A notification of office closure for everyone would have been nice. I may update the review in the future.UPDATE: I got a new appointment scheduled, arrived 10 minutes early again, and was seen in 15-20 minutes. After giving info to 2 nurses and getting my blood pressure checked, a third friendly nurse came in and said, Just for transparency, were an urgent care facility. We do primary care stuff, but thats not really our purpose. (I knew it! See my email. I asked this and was told to come anyway.) I said I understand. When a fourth nurse comes back to start some tests, she gives me a breakdown of the cost. What should be free is going to cost just over $250. I reiterate that it should be free. They ask if I need to call someone, and I ask for a few minutes to verify. I pull my Cigna app up which details my coverage and confirm that my visit should indeed be free. 45 minutes go by, a couple nurses come in to ask questions, and I tell them Im looking at my plan right now, theres no deductible for preventative care. Its 100% covered. Finally, the billing person comes in and explains the issue. Theyre an urgent care facility, so even if youre just doing preventative care, its billed as an urgent care visit. Im frustrated at this point, but I say, Okay, Ill just go to a traditional doctors office (like I asked about 3 weeks ago!). She says Okay, sorry about the misunderstanding. Youre still responsible for the cost of the office visit, which is $205. What? You didnt do anything, other than take my blood pressure and look in my ears! I make my case and ask if she can waive the cost. To their credit, they do waive the cost and she says shell talk to her managers about better communication. If I hadnt pushed back, they would have charged me.Overall, a very frustrating experience. When I first asked, Would a normal doctors office be more appropriate for primary care, they should have said YES, instead of just trying to get my business. Or, when I booked my first appointment and told them my insurance was covering everything, they could have checked, because they had all my info. That said, Im adding a star because EVERYONE I interacted with was professional and courteous and understanding. So again, Im sure this is an awesome clinic for emergency stuff, but they need better communication.

I signed something saying the expected charge for all services would be $50, but then was ultimately billed $300 for the same services before I walked out the door. The person preparing the billing statement wasnt aware that I had not yet met my deductible. I think I would have opted out of the X-ray had I known I would need to pay that much for it, since I didnt feel it was truly necessary. Nobody ever came back to me to interpret the X-ray results, so I guess they didnt think it was truly necessary either. Overall the visit took 4 hours, and with the amount of time I idly sat hooked up to a machine that had already finished its work, it felt like the visit took about an hour longer than it should have. I appreciated everyone was wearing masks, patients and staff included. I appreciated that I ultimately received the care I needed...even if it was more expensive than expected time and money. I was hired by Kyrsten (HR) as a paid GAP year employee. I was given her personal cell number during the interview after she made the offer. She said she would send my Onboarding paperwork via email. I put my two weeks notice in my other job and transitioned out of it. The paperwork never showed up. On the night before I was supposed to start work, I sent Kyrsten a text message asking if I was still good to start the following day. She (finally, after several texts during those two weeks of asking where the paperwork was, and leaving voicemails at the clinic) responded I could still start the next day. So, the next day I started the GAP year program and had a phenomenal experience!...for six days. On the sixth day when Kyrsten finally showed back up to work (she and the doctors had apparently been giving first responder physicals offsite, before.), I approached her office. She mentioned she had been slammed with paperwork and she had OTHER PEOPLE coming in to train and would EVENTUALLY send my paperwork. Confused, I mentioned I had already been training alongside other employees and that I quit my previous job for this opportunity. “So what am I supposed to do, wait until after Christmas to come back if at all?” (A week before Christmas this conversation happened). “Yeah, I don’t know. I’ll try to send the paperwork later tonight.” Several SEVERAL SEVERAL texts to her later asking where my paperwork and pay for those six days were, I never received a reply, paperwork, or pay. Following the New Year, I made a call to the clinic and asked to speak to Dr. Brancati. I was put on hold and was provided with the information that “they know about your situation and said not to come in unless they call you.” “But what about my pay? I worked for six days, it was a paid program, I never received the pay I was promised or the paperwork.” “I don’t know what to tell you.” Following this conversation I called the Department of Labor, and made a claim. I’m sure it was put into a pile and will he worked on eventually which is not the DOL’s fault at all. Ultimately, I’m extremely disappointed that EMD failed me as employers. I quit my job for the opportunity I was promised and never received it. This isn’t the same as not getting accepted for hire. This is being promised hire, being told to work for six days, and not being compensated for it — which is illegal. So I’ve been put at a financial hardship now for months because of the irresponsibility of the company.

After stepping into the spacious and welcoming front lobby, I was greeted and checked-in by the courteous receptionist. My exam room, which unlike some ERs I have visited in the past was private, extremely clean, and even had a UV air cleaner plugged into the wall. Everyone on the staff that I encountered-from the medical assistants to the providers was professional and attentive to my concerns and health issues. At no time during any of my visits did I feel my care was rushed and felt that everyone genuinely cared about me and the care that they provided. I can, without any reservation, recommend this facility to anyone seeking care that is not only provided promptly but also by healthcare professionals that care about you and take pride in the care they provide.

Terribly managed! We have visited their facility numerous times in the past and I knew from previous experience that the enormous copay they required (and we paid) was a mistake in the way they were reading our insurance. Our final visit was a weekend and I politely explained to front office staff that I would not pay the incorrect copay would come back on Monday with proper documentation from BCBS to confirm. Honestly, the hostility I experienced during that visit by the front office staff and the doctor who treated me (who was one of the owners of the practice) convinced me never to return. Sure enough, when I came back on Monday and they were able to talk to a rep from our insurance, they confirmed that we indeed did not owe a copay and apologized and issued refunds from our previous visits. Unfortunately the other urgent care facilities in our area were booked today and we had to visit Emergency MD once again, only to be informed they would not see us because “we had been dismissed from the practice.” They couldn’t offer any explanation, there were no notes in our file. There was no account that I was completely justified in not paying the outrageous copay. We were refused medical treatment because of repeated clerical errors made on their part. Do not trust your family’s health and well-being to this irresponsible “medical” practice.

At EmergencyMD they have everything onsite to do all sorts of diagnostic tests and have the results in minutes, not days. Kaitlin Eckley did a thorough exam, ordered some tests that made sense to me, to rule out a few possibilities, and came up with something I had never heard of as a diagnosis. I later looked up the symptoms and her diagnosis checked all the boxes! I think if I had gone somewhere else, they would still be scratching their heads over this one! No harm there, as this happens all the time. But, I faxed my insurance statement to the firm that processes their billing and they confirmed Im due a refund. However, they need approval from the local facility to issue it. After 5 months and a over a dozen phone calls, the local facility does nothing. Its not that they disagree that Im owed money, they just refuse to move on it. They repeatedly promise to return calls or promise to process the refund today, but to date they still wont make it happen. At this point Im convinced their unresponsiveness is intentional. It has to be. Im sure the average patient doesnt watch their statements closely and these overcharges are a part of their business model. I was taken back to a room before I even finished filling out my paper work! I was very nervous because Im 8 months pregnant, but the staff was beyond courteous and showed constant care and concern. Doctor Anderson and Mezzanotte went out of their way to call my regular doctors and get me admitted to the Labor and Delivery floor at St. Francis immediately for blood clots. I would have waited hours in the regular emergency room so I was so grateful for their care! Great job Emergency MD! I will recommend this urgent care to everyone!

Emergency MD is a novel, one-of-a-kind facility in our area. They have all the equipment necessary to diagnose emergency situations as well as less severe illnesses. The doctors and staff are top notch, kind, and caring. I have been seen by both doctors and highly recommend both! The facility is very clean and pleasant. I will choose this facility over an emergency room any time!

A couple months ago, my husband had to bring me here when my primary care provider wasn’t able to see me on such short notice. Our experience could not have been better. As a patient in a wheelchair, they treated me with the upmost care and compassion. The physician who saw me wanted to be sure I turned the corner and wanted to see me the next day. Thanks to his help, I was feeling much better and decided not to go. He was so concerned that he actually called me the next day just to check up on me. Compared to a traditional hospital ER, the experience here isn’t in the same stratosphere. I hope I don’t have to come back, but if i do, I won’t even hesitate.

Great experience over all...Check in on the 1st visit was very slow. I use the drink machine to purchase water, but got diet coke. I gave it to the front desk. Instead of offering my money back or telling me how to assume my money back, she politely said, thank you. The nurse was fantastic with great bedside manners. The Dr was superb. Even though, I had to return 3 days later, the check in went alot faster. The Dr remembered me and my symptoms. He treated me spontaneously and I left feeling appreciated. Yes I will recommend this place to anyone as I have already multiple of times.

My husband was sent to EmergencyMD for a CT Scan over a weekend 3 months ago. The receptionist told us she could not verify his benefits so he had to pay $770 up front. Never had that happen before. We paid the money up front. His insurance covered the CT Scan our copay should haven been $25. After multiple calls we have yet to be refunded the difference of $745.

Very knowledgeable and compassionate staff. I was a cash pay patient that had a miscarriage with no insurance and needed to have a D and C. The MD worked hard to get a doctor to take my case and perform the surgery. It took about a week for him to get it scheduled and he had his staff to call and check on me between time. Not many physicians that’ll go above and beyond as they did!!! Best Urgent care EVER and it was started by ER physicians.... That says more than enough about their expertise! Thanks a million for everything!!

Very nice facility with a wide range of equipment. I had a chest x ray, CT scan, MRI, ultrasound and other procedures, but did not receive any feedback. I did discuss this with a member of the staff, though. Would I go back? Absolutely, any time I needed help. Try finding an urgent care facility that can do everything EmergencyMD can do!

Superb experience from the pleasant, knowledgeable check in staff, nursing and physician. Dr. Brancati was very precise, straight to the point with a great bedside manor. I have not been to a Dr. in many years and dreaded the wait. This did not happen, very fast and efficient in every aspect. Would recommend this facility to everyone. Thank you to everyone there.

This was the worst experience ever!!!!! I went in on the week on 3/1 due to being dizzy and pain in the side of my face(ear). They had a student doctor come in and then a regular doctor followed. By the end of my visit after paying $60 copay I was told I would need to see a neurologist. Normally it takes weeks sometimes months to see one, however one is a family friend who agreed to see me that day. They never treated my ear infection and sent me home with nothing for my pain. It took almost two weeks to schedule a m.r.i. They finally follow up with me on 3/12 about scheduling an appointment and I ask the receptionist about my ear. She places me on a hold for over 30 min while I’m at work and then the md on call tells me to come in once I get off. I follow his instructions and come in only for them to charge me another $60 for the same issue I came in about on the last visit. The doctor then tells the receptionist that he will not talk to me until I pay (which was rude) so I paid and he tells me “I know u don’t have an ear infection because I checked it the last time u were here” I never saw the man a day in my life before tonight which I told him that. They wrote me a prescription for ear drops that’s were $35 and sent me on my way. On my way out the door I tell them I rather take my business else where to get the m.r.i and they say “well you have toDo your own leg work” I am 30 years old and never in my life have I felt like money would get me a better treatment. I will never go back to that office and I will never recommend anyone go unless all the hospitals don’t have power. I plan to call corporate and make sure they are aware of the way people are being treated in that office. I will also recommend them be shut down by the better business bureau.

Just a heads up to the general public. They do not verify insurance properly and require payment upfront with a promise to be reimbursed later once they are able to file through your insurance. It has been over 6 months and I have yet to receive a refund from them. Their third party billing company said that the facilitys bank account was compromised and is unable to process refunds via check at this time. I would exercise extreme caution before choosing this facility over other more reputable urgent cares in the area. I will not be back.

My wife and I are both Emergency Medicine physicians with 15+ years experience and there is no other place in the Upstate that we would take our family to when ill/injured than Emergency MD. Its the best of both worlds; Emergency Medicine trained physicians with all technology/treatments of an emergency department in a beautiful facility with kind/caring staff that is quick and efficient (with the added bonus of cheaper Urgent Care co-pays instead of the more expensive emergency department co-pays).

I was very impressed with the level of care I received. My wait time was very minimal. The staff was courteous and professional. I was seen by David Brancati, MD., who was very thorough and attentive. I have already suggested EmergencyMD to friends and family. In the event of another emergency outside of my regular physician’s hours of operation or on a holiday, I would definitely return to EmergencyMD for care.

Was charged for a CT scan (which they say they checked with my insurance said I owed due to not having reached deductible). Paid it and the were overpaid by my insurance three days after service. I am owed over $700 and it has been 4 months of daily calls. Still owed the money - terrible service, no one knows what is going on, repeat myself each call and still waiting on a refund on the over payment - which is now over 60 days and is illegal on the providers part. Each time I call to inquire where my refund is I start all over.

When to Emergency MD, several weeks back. Staff is amazing! They ran test, did a ct scan and referred me to a specialist. Specialist called next day and had me in their office 2 days later. I would highly recommend this facility! They are not your typical in & out urgent care facility.

Couldnt recommend this facility highly enough! When I first arrived, I was impressed with the clean, yet warm and friendly environment. I was ushered in to see a doctor quickly, and he was able to diagnose my symptoms quickly (and accurately). I was directed to the pharmacy next door where my prescriptions were already filled and waiting. Its a great one-stop shop for all your medical needs ranging from primary care to urgent care!

Terrible service! My husband was sent here for pre-surgery test. They ran our insurance and kept telling that my husband had to pay the full amount. I called our insurance company and confirmed we should only be paying 20% since we met our family deductible. The girl at the front desk called some other lady claiming she called our insurance and they told her he didnt meet the deductible. They couldnt give me a reference number or anything from the call. So be aware they will try to over charge you!!They surely do not go above and beyond!!
