I came in with horrible roots and brassy salon color that should have been updated months ago. My stylist Kyla gave me the best hair color that I’ve received in years!! She was so sweet and personable, referenced the photos I brought in multiple times, and gave me exactly what I wanted — and asked questions along the way to make sure I was happy with what she was doing. My highlights are perfectly feathered and non-choppy, the colors blend beautifully, and my hair looks amazing and natural! As a graduate student it feels so great to look professional and get pampered for such a good price — I will definitely be back and requesting Kyla as my stylist as long as she’s still in the program!! She’s going to make a fantastic addition to a salon one day 🤍

This was my first visit to the salon and went in with damaged outgrown blonde/brown hair. I knew the last time I had it done by a salon in Florida. Until I saw my stylist , Becca and as she consulted with her floor teacher, had not only changed my hair to the color I really desired from a horrible, frizzy, big bird hair to an modern cut and the appropriate high/low lights. All split ends gone and a great new look. Thank you Becca!

This review isn’t directed at the student that styled my hair. This review is directed at the person (Ashley) at the front desk. I received an email on my birthday for a complementary wash house treatment and blow dry. I’ve never had an issue with deal every year I use it until now. I explained to Ashley that the treatment that I received followed under that coupon. She claimed that she would honor it. I paid the $30 and went on my way. Once I got home I looked at the receipt and noticed that I was charged for the blow dry and flatiron together instead of just the flatiron. I called twice with no response. So I left a voicemail message. I haven’t received a returned call. I just want a response back and the issue corrected. Once that happens I’ll change my review back to its 5 star rating.

I spent 4 hours getting my hair dyed and the next day it looked exactly the way it did before I went in. I spent several weeks going back and forth with the managers/ instructors and they offered to have me back for consultation which resulted in them explaining to me what should have been explained the first time (that it was a multi-step process) and then they suggested multiple different next steps, all of which I still would have had to pay for. I spent 4 hours of my day, paid for the initial service and tipped both girls who worked on my hair, and it looks no different. I am deeply dissatisfied and will not be going back.

Amazing! The instructors all were incredibly skilled and patient. The future professionals were all staying busy. Jordan Howard was professional and thorough and was able to get my high lights exactly the color I wanted! I felt safe and protected which is huge for me right now. My hair turned out better at this school than it did at a high end salon downtown that I paid $200 for. I will definitely be going back

Marshea Murray was my stylist for today and I absolutely enjoyed my visit. For one, I came in with very matted, dry, broken off hair and Marshea was able to successfully detangle my hair and get it back hydrated. Even during the detangling, Marshae was able to do it with out hurting my scalp. I am very tender headed and the whole time I didn’t feel any pain. Also, I’ve never had curls all of my head and I was nervous about doing it. But Marshea encouraged me and I’m glad I decided to get the curls. My hair feels and look revived. Praise the Lord. Now I feel confident to preach later today because my hair added to my over all appearance. I definitely recommend you to book your appointments with Marshea Murray. You will not regret it. Went to get my hair bleached and lightened all over since I’m in the process of going blonde but was recommended to just do full foil highlights since I already have some from another salon and they didn’t want to chance the possibility of breakage with bleaching some of my platinum strands. I was fine with this but during the process I watched as they put bleach on my platinum strands which left me confused since they told me at the start that they weren’t going to do that which was why they were just giving me highlights. Then, at the reveal of my hair at the end my hair actually ended up darker then what it was when I came in. Very unhappy that I came in as slightly dirty blonde trying to go even lighter and came out with light brown hair where you could barely see any blondes. When I voiced my complaints both to my student stylist and her teacher I received attitude. This was my birthday present to myself and I couldn’t be more unhappy.

I hope this review saves someone from having to go through the same experience I went through.Extremely unhappy with my hair! I ended up having to go elsewhere to get it fixed, as I did not feel comfortable going back to the Paul Mitchell School.The blonde color was nothing at all like the what was discussed and shown in the picture that I was going for. It was not blended in at all. Also, my hair is extremely dry and brittle as if the color had been sitting in for way too long.Management thought this was acceptable...The pictures below speak for themselves.

I go on Thursdays, every Thursday is Sassy senior day and we get 50% off! I dont recommend getting a hair trim if you have short hair, but everything else that Ive had done there is wonderful. I had a perm done last January or February, it is the best perm I have ever had. They use all the Paul Mitchell products, and the instructor is there for every step of the perm it was great! I hope they open up again soon🤗💞

They are very clean and sanitary! Especially with the pandemic. My stylist was Kennedy S and she was fantastic! I got a balayage and she did wonderful! I will be returning!

I booked with Raylynn Wright two times and both times she has done a phenomenal job! Im so in love with my hair. She is very sweet and kind and loves making conversation with her clients. I will definitely be booking more appointments with her in the future!

Due to the co-vid regulations, I was unsure about how the normal process would work. I had gone here before, and knew how it was. I was very happily impressed by the efficiency, the quality of work, and the health protocols that were set up. Ive been coming here for years, but am so pleased to see it continue to produce quality work.

Carrie Zaglin did such a great job touching up my colors!! I wasnt asking for just any normal color update, as its a small peek-a-boo spot. I asked for no additional bleach, just color matching, which isnt easy, since most of it had faded out & I have really thick hair. She helped me decide a color scheme, and I couldnt be happier!! Every time I see my colors peak out I cant help but smile. ♡

Overall loved my experience with Kelli! She did a great job on my hair. The instructor though was a bit rude and unprofessional in the handing of communication with Kelli through the hair cut and color.

From the moment I walked through the door until I finished my appointment everyone was welcoming and professional. The instructor patiently and gladly helped my stylist who was doing her first cut. She did a great job, and I love my cut.

I had the most amazing visit at the Greenville campus with Jill Lyn Sampson. You could tell that her passion is beauty and she wants to empower her clients to leave feeling awesome. She takes her time and really is a true artist I highly recommend this young lady

This is the kind of place where you get what you pay for. The hair cutters/stylists are students of the school and practice on patients. The prices are hard to beat but the quality of service isnt always certain. Not the type of place for high quality service but the teachers train them to be. Wouldnt recommend for hair color but hair cuts are usually good. Be prepared for it to take anywhere from 1 hr-3hrs.

Staff are polite and professional. They did a great job on my hair. The price was a terrific value. It can take a while, depending on what you need done.

Want a new hair style? This is the place to go. Most Hair Stylist or learning... Dont be afraid. An instructor is there to guide them. Tell them what type of haircut you would like. An instructor is coming over afterward to see how you want it cut, styled, or colored. Also checks back periodically...I love watching the different Stylist. How they are dressed, the color of their hair, and different hair styles they have chosen. Great entertainment to see. The establishment is top notch, and atmosphere is something else. Give them a try. I have been going there a couple of years. Only one bad cut, too short. But its only hair, with no time it grows back out. So I didnt fuss. They have to learn. You arent the only experience they have to work with. They are in training in classrooms. Also you will see on job training with working on wig heads. Also they sell Paul Mitchell products for the hair.. Offering other services also.. Different specials during the weekdays... Clients that are coming in to get their services range from the young teens to older people. Prices or great also!

Shame on Paul Mitchell of Greenville, specially Julie! My daughter attended this school for over 6 months. My daughter has medical conditions that can cause severe abdominal pain, migraines, anxiety and panic attacks. Her attendance suffered and instead of working with her and encouraging her , their first talk consisted of telling her she looked fine and that nothing seems to be wrong with her when she was in the middle of a panic attack. I spoke with Julie after the incident happened and I know that she said those things. She admitted it to me in front of my daughter and MK. From then on, the personnel treated her poorly! (Some of the instructors on the floor are amazing!) Encouraging her to take time off and that maybe this was not for her. Somehow her sheets that she had been working on for months just disappeared from her station. So of course my daughter felt like she could not be successful at this school!! She has talent!! I began working in a salon at the age of 15 as a receptionist, I know what it takes. NOW...they are requiring her to pay for the rest of her tuition even though they put it in her head that she could not succeed and that her medical conditions were imaginary. I have read more Facebook posts from students that were there the same time with my daughter and they had the same complaints. My daughter was not singled out. They obviously take the students out that they do not like, make room for more, and still make the rejected or pushed out students pay. I will take this to an attorney!

Unfortunately, I was not pleased with my experience. I showed the stylist a picture , more than once, and told her exactly what I wanted. She ended up cutting most of my very long hair off and the style did not even look like the picture I showed her. Ms. Lakisha one of the teachers, had to correct most of my haircut for her, but it still was not what I wanted. I was shocked at how much hair the stylist cut off and was very disappointed that she could not achieve the haircut I desired. I will not be returning.

Terrible place to go if you expect even a decent hair cut and color. I went last year and they did a terrible job; chopped off my hair and dyed it a different color than i asked. Nothing close to what i wanted. This year i gave them another chance and they chopped it off AGAIN!! I had pictures both times for reference. It took me a year to grow my hair back! I thought maybe it was an individual person thing thats why i gave them another chance, but no. Its gotta be how they are teaching there or something. I used to go to the one in Charleston all the time. Never again will i give Greenville another chance! Spend the extra money at a real salon if you really do care about how you look!

Just went and had all my girls get their hair done for back to school and had a wonderful experience! Kristen at the front desk is so bubbly and inviting, Jordan did an awesome job on my toes and made me feel at home, and the 3 girls that did my kids hair were very kind and treated them great and did fabulous jobs on their hair! Even my kids said they were treated so nicely by everyone. And I definitely love the cheap prices for the great work done! Eric is the owner and he even came over and spoke to us and made us feel very welcome. Will definitely be returning! Must bring your family here.

Honestly, I was a little nervous going in, having read some of the reviews online but I was pleasantly surprised and very impressed! Julie and John were absolutely amazing and worked together fabulously to give me my new look I was going for. As a graduate of Paul Mitchell-Charleston and traveling stylist, I love coming in to see the work the students doand support them in their journey. I will definitely be back for my next color and cut with Julie and/or John!

Everyone was really nice. I had a really great deep condition. I was just bummed with my cut. I do have curls, so it can be a challenge. But she cut off way more than I wanted and I felt like my hair was barely layered. Which kinda looks horrible, because now my curls are just super poofy at the bottom, rather than being layered nicely. When I first put my hair down before the appointment, you could clearly see more defined and higher layers. Curls are different than straight hair. I wish my girl had a little more knowledge on them. But it’s okay. My hair will grow back. Overall it was a good experience, just wish i had more layers!

My daughter has been there 2 times and they have done a pretty good job on her hair. The pricing is good and my daughter loves the results she gets with her hair.

She not only gave me an excellent hair cut, but she also gave me the best scalp and neck massage while shampooing my hair. She showed me how to use the styling products she used on my hair. Wont go anywhere else!My first visit here. Very very happy with the foil. I was very impressed with how everyone worked as a team. Instructors were always nearby.Everything is reviewed with you regarding pricing up front.I am used to paying 200 for a foil and cut. I walked paying only 54 and was equally as happy.Leah did an amazing job as did the rest of the team that assisted.Please know this is a teaching environment and allow extra time. You are getting deal for a reason!

Paul Mitchell is the best Cos school around. The students that graduate have a much higher level of professionalism and knowledge. I can say this is the worse mani-pedi I have ever received in my life. The appt was for 1pm. 1:25pm I am still waiting. I believe the poor girl they gave me had no idea what she was doing. I could not even put my sock on due to sharp edges on my toe nails. My fingernails are rough and jagged. I wont be back.

The instructor Amy is top-notch being very professional, friendly, and excellent at her craft.---Ashley B. did a great job in getting my hair styled exactly as I asked for. She was very polite, personal, and attentive. I have already booked my next appointment with her.---Ashley B. knocked it out of the park again! I had her do some dimensional hair coloring and it looked fantastic when she was done with it. Even when I wasnt sure precisely what I wanted, she promised me I wouldnt walk out that day without being totally happy with the end product. She got it right the first time. Thanks so much Ashley! Liana was also a great assist in the process.Thanks also to Colton and Amy for providing support for the students and making this school what it is. The consistency of great service is better than most salons.

Ill start this off saying everyone here is friendly and helpful. Ive had an amazing facial and a great blowout. I decided I would give them a try for a balayage color service. After 3 hours of being in a salon chair there was minimal change to my hair, a couple lighter strands here and there. I paid $70 for the service ( I have fine long hair) and decided to give it a day or two and see how I was feeling about it. After a couple days I decided I was not happy and booked an appointment to go back in. The website states that if you come in within a week of the original service they will fix it. What it doesnt say is that you will pay for the bowls of color. So not only did I have to spend another 3 hours in the chair but I had to pay for something that should of been done the first time. I showed the stylist a picture of my hair before I got the original service and she saw and understood why I was not satisfied. This is not good business.

Great services and products. Found my regular stylist there but all the student I interacted with were great. Always instructors close by offering advice and guiding.

Had a great experience at Paul Mitchell , Greenville. The atmosphere is friendly, clean and inviting. The students are professional and very skillful. Shekinah Ellis did an outstanding job on my hair. She was very nice and made me feel very comfortable.

This place is a joke!! I am not bashing the students but the instructors are clueless. Three instructors came over and helped out with my simple haircut-an inverted bob- and none of them got even close to it. I spent 4 hours there for a cut. Never again!!!

Teachers are awful!! Came in the other day to get a shampoo and blowout. The girl who was doing my hair had a few questions and the teachers just ignored her!!! Walked right past her after she said she needed help. They also seem to have this very snotty attitude and think theyre better than the students and clients, not very professional at all. Will not be coming back, but i will be calling corporate. They really need to have a talk with these instructors.

The girls in the mani/pedi area were fantastic !! They were super friendly and we had a great afternoon, however, this school is doing these girls a disservice by not providing proper training on manicures and pedicures. They did not have the proper tools, no toenail clippers so my toenails were not clipped and groomed properly, very limited supply of polish colors, no callus removal on heels.I do not blame these girls. The are not being properly trained for manicures/pedicures. You need to review your program because you are setting these girls up for failure by not being properly trained, actually, I hint you are ripping these girls off be not properly training them and providing them with the correct tools.Needless to say, I cant justify paying for this again at Paul Mitchell and I am greatly surprised and disappointed in this school. As much as I hate going to the Vietnamese people because they talk in foreign language and I dont like men pedicurist it seems that this is the only alternative because at least they know how to give a PROPER pedicure.

Everyone here is very kind, but there needs to be a LOT of changes made. Its obvious that these students arent learning enough; I spoke to several of them and they told me THEMSELVES that they do not feel that this place truly prepares them for a salon. This is unacceptable for a school that costs 20k to attend. These students should not be working on people if they are undereducated. The learning leaders also have a bad habit of ignoring the students. Ive seen several girls go and try to ask for help but the teachers ignore them because theyre too busy chatting with eachother. Not professional. The students and clients should come first, especially when theyre in a hurry.

The students work very hard. The teachers are rude to the students in front of the clients. And dont help them out. It seems likely they walk away when they have a question. Also dont recommend going to school here. You get write ups for anything, some teachers gossip about the students right in front of them, and instead of helping them, they put the students down. Make them feel bad and even cry. Discrimination is a big issue here. I been a client here and also a mother of a student. Thank God shes done with this school because most of her class either dropped out or got spelled for little issues. I feel like we pay a lot of money to put our children through hell and they staff in charge dont do nothing to take care of the issues with the teachers. Bad bad

I had a appointment and the stylist came out. I didnt recognize the stylist and I asked for someone else I was familiar with. Because I asked for another stylist they proceed to tell me they didnt feel comfortable with doing my hair. That is unprofessional and I didnt appreciate it. You should pay for what you want. But that is ok. 😁

Just ok, facial was very limited. No hand massage, very basic of what you would expect at a no brand beauty school. Not going back.

The supervisor Casey was extremely rude to me and gave me attitude and was sarcastic. It was very clear she didnt care about me or the service.

You pay for the name not the education, you can get the same education anywhere else without paying 20k just to be swept under the rug. Know what you’re getting yourself into before you attend there, they’re not looking to teach you specifically you’re only a number there.

It’s been over a month since my first and last appt. all I wanted was a hair color. Wow! 4 hours later hair still red and brassy highlights and not to mention buying several pots of product and a glaze. I left sad face and $70.00 poorer. Beware of this business.

Two stars and heres why. I use to go on saturdays for the day class people and they did great, the past two times I have gone to Thursday night class and my hair has never been worse in my life. My mother goes with me to get hers and hers is worse then mine! She had blonde hair and wanted silver, they only died one top layer silver they didnt even touch the bottom and they didnt blend it!! They gave her bangs it was choppy and not even at all. My hair looks like a bad high schooler hair cut out of 2005 with such thick streaks of highlights which were supposed to be Carmel came out copper and bleach blonde thicker then theee of my fingers!! We will not go back

I made an appointment to have a full head of highlights on Saturday-I left with brown frizz-I was in the chair for 7 hrs and 45 minutes. Two girls foiling my hair. Their names I am not going to call because they are students and were only doing what they were told my the Instructor. The student would not hesitate to ask an instructor is they were not sure about something-the instructors feedback is what killed the whole day-Her name was Allison I think. First she told the girl to put a 10 volume developer on the bottom and side of my head and a 20 on the top. I told her at that time a 10 volume was not going to take lets face it I do not have a salon license but I have had this hair for over 50 years and this is NOT my first time in a Salon. She said well then if it does we can put a toner on it. Ok she is an instructor. The next time she came over was to explain to me the toner since as she put it the side and back was guess what? pink well she called it salmon!.ok this is not the first toner I have ever had either-she proceeds to tell me the mixture I know enough to know if she is going to mix pink champagne with a number 6 brown that is not going to be blonde. I questioned that she proceeded with this lengthy discussion of how we should trust the color wheel! I reiterated that I did not want for these girls to work as hard as they did and my hair turn out brown-she told the girl then to put the toner on my hair after she dried my hair and leave it on for 25 minutes. I said ok this is a first the toner has always been put on my hair in the wash bowl and washed out withing minutes! Oh well my fair was brown frizz when I left I ask to speak to the instructor that had ignored my every word that I said -it took some time to find her I was not happy . I told her this is exactly what I told you would happen and I am not a licensed cosmetologist. She went on to say well we didnt want it a salmon color back to my first point-she just stood there-I told her I dont know what you are waiting for me to say but I am not going to say it I am very dissatisfied. I paid 61$ !!!!! and left Never again will I go there due to the Instructors lack of knowledge.

What policy say you cant take men hair cut after 2.30 pm. The store stay open to 430. Terrible

Very disappointment, I know they are student, but supposed the teacher should be around the girls checking they’re works, also I ask for an advance student and seems like they assign me a the most new girl in the school. And my hair? awful, on of the side got color and the other nothing.
