I have gotten my hair cut multiple times here. I can get in quickly which is a plus. The prices are super adorable and the students are very knowledgeable. There is always a supervising “senior stylist” to check the students which is great. I have been very impressed with my cuts and I will continue to go back. Everyone is so friendly!

Recently visited this salon for a haircut and layers, overall experience with my stylist was 10/10! Although, during my appointment one of the instructors came over to check on the student and was incredibly rude to both her student and I, completely disregarded anything I asked for and seemed like she didnt know what she was doing. I did not get the instructors name but she had short purple hair.

I had an amazing experience! Kaylin cut and dyed my hair and I am in LOVE with the result. She was very professional and really sweet to talk to. She was very knowledgeable and took her time to make sure it came out just how I wanted. I will most definitely be coming back to her!!

My boyfriend came in to get his hair re-twisted and the consultation with the stylist went very well. However, the instructor that took over the appointment was very rude and aggressive. She was not gentle at all and used excessive force when helping the student! She then proceeded to rush the student, trying to convince my boyfriend to get a different style to get him out the door sooner because it was taking too long (in her words exactly). Then halfway through, the instructor moved him to another student to finish the service. He was then charged $45 after being told the service would be $30. Overall, the instructor was extremely rude and dismissive, the two stylists however were very sweet and did a wonderful job given the resources they were provided. He came home and his scalp was more tender than it should have been from the appointment. My man will not be returning as long as that awful instructor is there!

Had a wonderful experience! Christina cut my hair and dyed it and it was amazing! They are so thorough in making sure that things are done right and done well. I will definitely be going back the next time I need my hair done!

I’ve been going here for about 4 years. Today I went in for a color retouch & correction because during my prior visit the color had been done incorrectly. I assumed I’d be charged for the retouch. I did not think I’d be charged for any part of the service needed to correct what had been done incorrectly the time before.The instructor had several excuses for this including covering my greys & that I’d wanted my roots to match my ends. I didn’t want my roots to match the ends I wanted the same formula I’ve recieved for the last 4 years. I think this instructor was new. She was impolite & when I told her I wouldn’t be coming back she said “I’m sorry about that”.I completely understand that these stylists are students. That’s why I waited until my next retouch to have my color corrected because I realize that they’re learning. What I didn’t expect was to have to pay more & be treated rudely by an instructor.

Ive had my haircut here several times as has my husbandand we have had a positive experience at every visit. The staff have always been professional and the student stylists always make an effort to understand exactly what I want before they cut my hair.

I went to Kaylin for a full highlight and I absolutely love my hair!! She was so detailed and answered all my questions! Can’t recommend her enough!!

Alexander Paul has given me many great opportunities in starting and furthering my career as a cosmetologist! I was able to graduate feeling confident working In this amazing industry. The school provides great hands on education teaching everything from the basics to current trends and the instructors were amazing. I highly recommend this school.

Worst haircut I have even received never going back

Over the past year I went to see Raegan four times and she did a fantastic job on my hair. Liz along with all of the other teachers did a fantastic job teaching all of the girls. Everybody was so nice whenever I was there. The facility is very clean and has a friendly atmosphere.

I attended Alexander Paul Institute of Hair Design and this school is amazing! You will learn more here then you will at any school! The teachers and owners are amazing people and help you with every problem you have! You get great experiences because ECU is right across the street, so there is alot of practice and wonderful clients! I now work for them in there salon (Georges Hair Design) and i absolutely love it here! ITS A GREAT SCHOOL AND YOU WILL LOVE IT THERE!

Alexander Paul is a wonderful school, i had the pleasure of completing my Cosmetology course threw them and I am so glad that I did. The school is local to Greenville, with strong roots in the city, and throughout Eastern NC. The owner George, along with his sons Alex and Paul, and the other instructor Casey are phenomenal people. They really helped me to understand difficult concepts, and the smaller environment made it feel like a home to me. The course is about 10 months long, and i loved every minute there. I left there with a sense of accomplishment and a sense of pride for my school. I would absolutely recommend this school to anyone!!

I am a graduate of Alexander Paul. I absolutely loved the school. I found Alex, George, Casey, and Paul understanding and caring. The atmosphere war positive and inviting. We received training that other schools in the surrounding area couldnt provide. I graduated and found got a job at one of the best salons in Greenville and felt comfortable and at ease after the education I received at AP. I would highly recommend this school to anyone!

I can not express how amazed I am with how my hair turned out! My hair is incredibly difficult to work on due the thickness, frizz, volume and sheer amount amount of hair. Amy L managed to make my hair manageable with an incredible cut. I am absolutely in love with the the blonde highlight color and deminention Amys technique gave to the color. I can not wait to go back to see her for my next appointment! 6 Stars this place is a hinden gem!!!

I started Alexander Paul in August of 2011 & graduated in June of 2012 and couldnt have had a better experience there, absolutely LOVED it. I loved how we had smaller classes so there was more one on one time with the WONDERFUL instructors that we had, if any of us needed any extra help or guidance. I also liked how the school was set up like a real salon and was basically ran like a real salon, it really got you prepared for how the real world is gonna be when your out on your own. When it came to getting prepared for State Board, AP was on top of it 110% and had you extremely prepared for the practical and written exams. Alex was always on top of things & handled the school very professionally, and made sure everything was intact and there at school. I know from experience if we were out of any products or color or things like that and we needed it immediately Alex was always there for us to be the one to go get it. Alex was the bomb, stayed on top of everything!!!!! Paul, while I was in school he was still going through the program to be a student instructor, so I didnt spend much time with him, but he was always there helping Alex out in any way possible! George, I love that man, he was such a lively person to be around, and always tried to lift us up and help us when things were rough during school. He was also a good wonderful teacher and taught me many things. Casey, I dont know where I would be without her, she really was a good teacher and really really really prepared me for the State Board exam, couldnt of made it through it without her. Casey was never pushy or anything like that, which I loved, but she did stay on top of her game as far as making sure the school was clean & sanitized and most important of all she was a wonderful instructor. Anytime any of us had questions she would get to us as quickly as possible, and challenge us with the answer, which I loved. Dawn, wonderful wonderful instructor. She taught us the ins and outs and extras of cosmetology. I always felt comfortable around her, and knew I could talk with her about anything. Dawn kept our class on track during Theory and made sure we had all the things we needed to move onto the Advanced Department. Alex, George, Casey, Dawn and Paul are all very wonderful people & I would recommend Alexander Paul Institute of Hair Design to anyone, its such a wonderful school!

Enrolling at The Alexander Paul Institute was the best decision I ever made for myself. They truly want you to succeed and are involved and supportive the whole way, even long after graduating, and I appreciate that.

I genuinely feel that Alexander Paul is the best cosmetology school in Greenville, I graduated from there and would highly recommend it to any aspiring stylist out there. The classes are small and it is run just a salon. As a student you will get hands on experience, and you will have the opportunity to build a clientele you can take with you when you start working. I received a great education and made some awesome friends while there. If I had to choose again, I would definitely choose Alexander Paul.For those thinking about visiting the school for an appointment, Id highly recommend it. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone! I got my first professional color treatment done by Kayla and it looks amazing. I had lots of trepidation about getting my hair colored as I have seen some really bad color jobs and I was hesitant to do something that require a lot of maintenance. Kayla listened to everything I said and nailed the finished product. I love that there are instructors there to perform quality control and lend their input (not that Kayla needed much help - shes seriously a rockstar!). I will definitely be back again.

I graduated in July of 2017. The education was great, and the amount of hands on that we got to have was amazing. Most schools give you slim to no freedom when interacting with clients but this school gives you a solid 8 months of freedom with your clients! It’s a neat schedule too, it’s treated like a real, full time job. Most of the instructors teach with heart, they teach you like they want you to succeed and you can feel it when they do. ESPECIALLY, Bianca (class room instructor) Liz, laTanya, and Casey! (Floor instructors) those four women made me want a better future for myself and without them I probably wouldn’t have given up. I’m my opinion, they make the school and help with the amazing memories along the way.When it comes to stateboard there’s a VERY VERY SLIMMMMM chance you WONT pass. Check out their passing rates, and hiring rates on the website- they don’t lie. If you like the school you’ll like your career 🙋🏼‍♀️

I attended Alexander Paul Institute of Hair Design in 2010. Yes I am directly responding to the negative message, on my own accord because I want it known this is an amazing school. Because of the environment of the school I personally got to know George, Alex, and Paul. All of them are wonderful with lots of knowledge and experience to pass on to their students. Because of this school I am a successful hair stylist, with knowledge and tricks I learned that many stylist with years of experience still dont know! This school is ahead of any other because it not only provides its students with superior information about cosmetology, but also focuses of professionalism. If you are looking for a cosmetology or esthetician school to attend in Eastern NC, Alexander Paul is the one! You are done in 10 months and it’s probably going to the shortest 10 months of your life! I learned from the best instructors and I enjoyed all the staff and classmates I attended with! You learn all the up to date trends and get to use a great color line I still use as a stylist! I highly reccommend this school!

I have lived in Greenville, NC for 5 years now and Alexander Paul has been a constant go to for me. The students are awesome and usually do awesome work. They do take a little longer being a school, so understand that before going in and dont get upset with your hair stylist. I would definitely recommend for anyone.Btw, I have extremely long (to my butt) hair, that is fairly difficult to work with. Soo, that should let you know they can do great work!Cole and Jasmine are the best!!

Beauty School Nightmare- NOT A POSITIVE EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT!The owner, 67 year old George Naoum, is very nice at first- they the real man emerges- shouting curse words and berrating students- screaming and yelling in a violent manner. These outbursts are often and unprovoked.Paul Naoum regularly tells distasteful sexually explicit jokes- amongst students- leaving them feeling violated and harrassed.Casey Tripp- the teacher with very little experience- lies to her students AND told her students to LIE TO OFFICIAL STATE BOARD INVESTIGATORS! HIGHLY ILLEGAL BEHAVIOR!If you dont follow their rules- which change everyday- they will take your money and kick you out!ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!
