I have had great experiences with Dr Paulk at Apex. Allergy. He showed so much concern and determination to solve my problem. And I am doing sooooo much better.

I have been going to this office for 22 years (since I was 2 yrs old) and it has always been a very friendly and caring environment. The front desk receptionist is super nice and always asks how Ive been and how my family has been. They always treat me with the upmost care and respect and care about me as a patient first before anything. I love this office and will continue going for a long time.

We love this office and the staff. Very friendly front office, nurses are very sweet and my daughter loves both of her doctors here.

I took my 7yr old here on referral from our pediatrician for a suspected pet dander allergy. Dr. Johnstone couldnt have been more patient or kind. It turned out to be pet dander (though not the pet we expected) and instead of pushing allergy shots or a ton of visits (which would obviously benefit the office), he provided a lot of information on how to keep the dander down at home and other tips. He recommended continuing the antihistamine if the symptoms flared up and if all else fails, we could come back. My daughter was overjoyed that we could keep her cat AND avoid allergy shots. The bad reviews for this office are unwarranted. I followed the simple instructions on the intake paperwork prior to the appointment and asked several questions, and had absolutely no issues or surprises at checkout. It seems that maybe the issue others had was not providing insurance information prior to their appointments. After providing this info, based on our insurance, I was given a percentage to expect as a copay and informed of the pre-insurance price for each test. At the visit, I agreed to testing for several different possible allergens and the process was explained to my daughter in a way that eased her anxiety about being poked (the testing tools have 8 legs and the foot on each one doesnt poke like a needle, just kind of scratches - she didnt seem to mind at all) after 15 minutes we had the results. She was tested for 16 different possible allergens and our copay for our particular insurance was only $69. This was overall a very good experience.

This place is unbelievable. One of the ladies that gives that shots is very rude and this office is always closed for some reason. Make sure you always call before going they might be shut down for the heck of it.

Wow, just wow!! Didnt even make it past the front desk, its sad that an office is only about money and proving people wrong, rather than the well being of the patient! ! And, the receptionist totally put words in my mouth when she had to call her office manager about the money she wanted me to pay up front! Seems like something shady is going on in this office. I just wish I wouldve read the other reviews before I wasted my time and my childs time from his 6th period Class! ! Somebody maybe pocketing money! !

Do yourself a favor especially if you want to spend your money wisely. My wife and daughter wanted to see an allergist to see what they where allergic to and having Blue Cross Blue Shield State she called and was told that if our deductible was met which it has that our visit wold be under 20 copay and she set up the appointment. We arrived on the day and she and my daughter was seen after about 3 hours they finished being stuck by the pins no big deal thats the treatment they went to the window and was hit for $347 dollars and my wife explained both deductibles had been met for the year but they did not want to hear that so we paid it reluctantly. Two days later both my wife and daughter started having allergic reactions my wifes not so bad but my daughters was bad enough to be concerned, the school called and stated daughter was having issues so we called these people (my nice way of putting it) and they said bring her in we will look at her that the fee would be under 30 dollars because deductible had been met (even though this was from the previous visit and should have been covered). We took her in and they where quickly in and out jokingly acting like it was not anything they had done (like i figured they would) using every excuse in the book that it was not from the 80 something injections they gave her just 6 days prior and the symptoms coming on within two days of being treated, so we went to check out and after fiddling with the computer for 10 mins and acting like she was correcting payment info wow they hit me with a 43 dollar charge. I said i dont understand i just paid you 347 dollars less than six days ago and both times you told my wife not to expect to pay 30 dollars and she states well you have a 12 dollar balance on your bill. What the h-ll?You havent even had time to bill ins yet and your saying i still owe you from last visit and to top that i stated lady my deductible has been met twice now and yet your still saying i cannot pay my copay. She says well when it gets back from insurance if you over-payed you will receive credit from our office. You dont understand i dont want credit to your office what happens if i dont need it or use it. How can i owe you 12 dollars. So to make a long story short I really hope these ------- sleep well at night and enjoy that is the last dime they will receive from me and ill be in contact with the insurance company im sure they would love to hear this. So as i stated at the start do yourself a favor and look elsewhere i sure wish i had 390.00 out of my pocket for nothing and i do mean nothing. They are rude and the front desk is a joke. Im not the only one who feels like this i seen the review left by another. You do not treat people like this and sometimes you have to bite the bullet a little and take one for the team you cant win them all, they know they where wrong for this and you could tell it. The lady kept saying im sorry. No dont be sorry i just hope they pay you well enough to put up with the crap your going to get if this is how they are going to do business.
