I have worked with HomeInstead for several years and have felt blessed to have been introduced to this company. I have found that they have the unique ability to match a client with a caregiver the client feels suitable to meet their needs. I spent 34 years in my previous employment position but I have found my position as a caregiver as the most rewarding with both clients and my association with the staff at HomeInstead.

As an employee of Home Instead it was very friendly and comfortable. I understood my job and had a good training. If I didnt know what to do it was clarified. I recommend anyone who is interested in working for Homeinstead would be a great advantage and good benefits.I love the office staff.

I called this office because I desperately needed help with someone that could be companionship to my 84-year old “Spanish speaker only” mother that I was forced to bring to the Upstate area due to poor and unsupervised medical treatment at her residing place for 84 years.Kelly promptly scheduled an appointment for an evaluation and she offered the services of a wonderful human being that not only spoke Spanish but, was from the same place where my mother lived all her life.The chemistry between them was instantaneous and my wife and I were able to go out together once more confident that my mom was in good hands.Iban extremely satisfied with the flexibility, professionalism, and genuine care for my mom. Thank you so very much for what you do to help ease the load on those taking care of their love ones.

I was a Caregiver for home instead. Before I got the job I looked at the reviews on here . I seen all of the bad reviews but I brushed them off. When I got the job I loved it. I loved my clients I loved the job,, I loved taking care of my clients, and listening to their stories. Making memories, etc .. So I forgot about all of the reviews and just thought they were lies. Until I had a doctors appointment and when I requested it off it got deleted. My vacations got deleted. My days off got deleted. When I asked about it I was told that I couldnt get any days off. And that the company doesnt do request days off, even though I got 5 request days off forms during my orientation. I was mad but I continued working because i needed a job, and I knew these people needed me to take care of their needs. The next day I went to work and my client said I could go home early because she didnt need me. I was told that when Im told to leave I have to. So I just left, a few hours later my manager called me and yelled at me for leaving even though the lady during orientation told me I have to. This business is very unprofessional, and wishywashy. I would not recommend this place for anyone. They treat the employees like trash and make them do jobs that they are not trained to do. They give 0 training and says its all common sence they dont tell you what to do when someone falls. Or when they are sick. They dont care about anyones well being. Or care if the clients are safe. They want you to do the bare minimum. And they dont care if you feel comfortable with the job or not. So before you think about filling out a application read all of the caregiver reviews and rethink your decision.

I have worked at Home Instead Senior Care for over two years and found the experience to be very positive. The office personnel tries hard to provide each client with the CareGiver that will be the best match. They are also always available to help with any questions or concerns. The only reason I am leaving is because I am relocating to another state.Another plus about this particular company, is they will always inform you about a new clients needs and set up a time for you to meet them before you are required to care for them, which I find very helpful as a CareGiver.I have received regular raises, health insurance coverage at a low rate, and milage for errands and driving between clients.When I relocate to NY, I will look for another company like Home Instead Senior Care!

We have had a wonderful experience with Home Instead. My mom just loves Gwen and she is so much happier. They take short car trips and go to the grocery store. Gwen watched her closely and makes sure she is safe. Gwen is just a kind sweet soul. They call themselves friends now !!

What the clients see and the treatment of employees are two totally different things. I got yelled at by the owner for following my managers instructions - ??? How about yelling at the manager, not the employee? I knew my manager was wrong, but she insisted, so I followed directions and knew she was violating DHEC protocols for getting rid of paperwork on employees. Bottom line, this owner is only in it for the $$$, she used to be a pharm sales rep if that tells you anything. She can schmooze anyone.

Home Instead has really been a God send for me and my husband. cant say enough about the wonderful care givers.that have been assigned for my husband with dementia. and the staff have went out of there to accommodate our needs . The fill in today is so good with my husband to never have meet him . Thank you BETH,JODY, LISA SUMMER and all the staff for your caring and thank you caregivers for all you do. It is not easy caring for a parent with dementia, especially during the transition from independent living to transitional care facilities. The staff of Home Instead Greenville provided compassionate care during a time of crisis for me as the caregiver as well as for my mom. The owner was attentive to our familys needs and worked with her staff to assemble a companion care team to cover afternoon and evenings, which can be the most difficult times of day for persons with dementia and their caregivers. The team was professional, caring and thoughtful, especially throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, for which additional rules and precautions have been necessary to ensure everyones health and safety. The caregiving team included consistent substitutes during times when one of the primary caregivers was not able to come. Lines of communication were always open with the administrator assigned to us and I feel that they provided the caring support we needed during my mothers transition to assisted living. We are grateful for those on our Home Instead team and appreciate all they did to help our family.

I do not recommend them to no one i worked with them, they are just in it for the money not for the clients well being! The owner is nice but the scheduling manager will send anyone (sick or not) despite the client preferences she is vary disrespectful and talks bad about the clients not professional at all! I asked to speak to the owner and till this day i havent heard nothing,

Be careful! Very unprofessionally run organization. Caregivers are sent into homes before their personal references, drug tests or background checks have been performed. The owner has no idea what really goes on and upon my being hired I was asked to watch the other employees and tell her if I saw anything that should not be happening, which made me very uncomfortable and is horrible to do to a new person. The other 3 black employees told me the owner prefers working with blacks because typically they [blacks] work out better and she is more comfortable working with us. The owner is white. Honestly, I found that just weird. Her employees complain about her treatment behind her back; not paid enough, no sick time, no vacation time and no insurance benefits. The owner and I had a disagreement and I thought we were fine but without any conversation, I was met one morning and told the owner was taking the position in a different direction. This was right before the Thanksgiving holiday. I am a single mother. Almost all of my things had been packed and sat in a bag on the top of the desk. The owner never said a word to me. In my opinion, she is a COWARD and although she acts like she wants to know what is going on, if honest, it is taken personally and you will find yourself without a job, quite vindictively, with no explanation. In my personal opinion, she is a nasty person and I would not let her take care of my dog.

I appreciate how this company treats you like your more than a just a caregiver. I also think it is a plus when they go with you on the first visit to meet the clients. It is very helpful getting to know new clients.

We often refer people to Home Instead and have only heard very positive comments. They are friendly and professional. The industry standards are tough but they are tougher. We would highly recommend.

Sandra Harrison, is the lady that takes care of my my sister in law.I cant begin to tell everyone how happy we are with her. I know it has to be very trying take care of some one with dementia . Sandra goes up and beyond the call of duty. She goes the extra mile. I would rate her a 10 ,and if I lived there I would refer everyone I know that may need this type of care.

The absolute worst experience Ive had in this field they place employees who smoke cigarettes with cancer clients, also will not find you a replacement if the person who relieve you call out that means youre stuck to work a double shift ,also make you promises that they will not and have no intentions on keeping!!! The owner in my opinion is very disrespectful and has a problem with you if you dont agree with what she says. Overall I wouldnt suggest them to care for my dog nevertheless a love one !!! Chose wisely the owner has a gift of gab!

Horrible place to work. Eventually got to the point where the hours were either spare or non-existent. They were constantly hiring and gave shift priority to new employees instead of making sure there were enough hours for the caregivers they already had. I would call the office twice a week to see if they had any shifts for me. I was told I need to give them time and be patient. How can you expect someone to go without work for 3 weeks and be ok with that? Eventually I found a second job and couldnt take any of their last minute shifts that they started to offer (most of the time just a 2 to 3 hr shift) and then eventually stopped hearing from them. Had to wait until tax time to found out they fired me. They were too cowardly to even give me a call to let me know. I could go on with more unprofessional and backwards experiences I had with this company in such a short time, but its not worth anymore of my time.

Will wedge between family and residential community. Owner takes sides. Very unprofessional with sketchy employees. Do not use in your community.
