I did u turn for Christ in Pennsylvania Lebanon . We went out to u turn for Christ bbq in Tennessee. I loved the place. Was beautiful , nice people was friendly. Good food. ( In u turn I see family and people say its a cult when they was rebellious and not wanting to follow treatment rules .) I know I was rebellious myself not wanting to follow all the rules . I got weighting assignments and had to dig holes . That was not a cult that was life changing . I go to a chur h Im still clean I visit u turn once month and encourage the guys . Gods good and he used program in a mighty way I loved it .

U-Turn for Christ Tennessee helped save my life. I thought I had an addition problem, but since I started living for God, my life has never been so good. This ministry is a blessing, highly recommended.

At first i disliked the program , mostly because it went against what i was familiar with , and what i was comfortable with. Today i willingly serve this program even when its not required of me. I believe in U-turn , and thank God everyday for giving me this oppertunity that has drastically changed my life.

U turn has helped me get off of suboxone after being on it for years. Ive stayed through first phase and am currently doing second phase and the lessons Ive learned in patience and perseverance have been invaluable. They make sure to keep you busy with work so that you dont have idle time for thinking about the past or your addictions and they also make time for recreation, having once taken us on a camping trip for a weekend. I am thankful for them having helped me get off suboxone as I had tried many times before to do.

I went to the uturn for christ program 10 years ago stayed 4 mts. And thank god for my now dead father Who came and got me out of there and. Helped me find real treatment. I have been clean since I left. I would not send my worst enemy there there was 22 of us packed into a run down single wide trailer. There was not a doctor on site or a licensed counselor. I have nightmares of that place to this day. I am now a journeyman electrician. Please dont make the mistake I did because its cheap. There is good help out there. Thats not a Christian cult

Ive personally have had multiple family members go through this program for the better. Sure its hard but it teaches them The responsibility they need.

My experience at U turn for Christ Tennessee was life changing. I came from Upstate NY not knowing what to expect..I was broken and needed help..It didnt take me long to realize that a relationship with Jesus was the answer. The structure and discipline here is what i needed. Every morning at 530 we did a group devotion, reading a chapter in Proverbs, Psalms, and the armor of God..Being in Gods Word first thing in the morning is powerful..We stayed busy working on the ranch or at one of the store from 8-3:30. Bible Study every night at 7pm, Church Wed and Sunday...I thank God everyday for bringing me to this ministry and allowing God to change my life. Pastor Steve has been a great Mentor and Pastor, God is using him and his Testimony to help change the lives of lost guys like myself. I highly recommend this ministry to anyone who has the will to change and grow closer to God. --God Bless

I would recommend this program to anyone whos sincerely ready to move forward in life and get right with God, youll have a safe environment with structure and biblical teaching, your going to get what you put into it, the 1st phase portion is 2 months and 2nd is 6 months where you find a job within the community and work while continuing in the biblical studies that will change your life you will be blessed if you take this seriously and come to know the Lord. Ive been here 7 months and am staying the full course of 8 months to receive the full benefit. I have matured spiritually and as an individual also benefiting from the work experience. I went through this program in 2010 and it completely changed my life. I truly believe that God brought me to this place to help me not only get off drugs but to live for Him! I was already a christian when I went into the program but obviously wasnt living for Him. I had been using drugs and alcohol and living for myself for a few years when I finally came to my breaking point. I needed change and I heard about U Turn For Christ through my local church Calvary Chapel Lexington. I met with a pastor who suggested I go to TN to get away from friends and the people who were bringing me down. Once entering the program I realized that there was no way I could just glide by and not change. There is a strict schedule and rules but they are all in place to help the people learn to be normal functioning adults. The Lord truly used this program to not only bring me back to Him but to learn how to live for Him and how to study Gods word and truly live for Him. Personally I believe if you or a family/friend are struggling with addiction you can try to go through AA or NA or another program but unless you come to the Lord and allow Him to change your life you will never be able to stop doing the things your doing in your own strength. That is what this program helped me to realize. They do not shove the Bible down your throat or make you conform to what they believe. You can leave anytime. I felt love and compassion from my leaders and I was even a part of the leadership for a while. As far as the review saying that they wouldnt let the parent see her son...they do ask that for the first I think month your only form of communication is through writing letters. This is because a lot of times the people closes to us enable us to continue in a lifestyle we should be changing. And I have NEVER in my entire stay at U Turn witnessed anything like that happen. Not saying its not true but there are always two sides to every story...

My son was lost in addiction and it was through the influence of U Turn that he was able to find his way out. He is now a productive member of society and able to live a drug free life. Pastor is tough as are the overseers. Some people can’t handle it and speak badly of the program. I have personally seen the miracles happen. If someone is ready to do the hard work of ridding themselves of addiction and turning their lives over, this is the place. It’s not fancy, it doesn’t pamper snowflakes, but it works!

A few years ago, my daughter-in-law took my son to U Turn For Christ b/c of substance abuse. I called every day asking to speak with him. After about 8 days of them refusing to let him call me, I got in my car to go check on him. I was lied to from the beginning.The man told me my son would be at a church service by the time I got there & that I wouldnt be able to see him. I said thats okay, I will just come to the church. He gave me wrong directions to get there. I found it b/c my sister stayed on the phone with me on & the internet giving me directions.After the service, a group of six men encircled me to keep me from speaking to my son. Another group of men had encircled him also & walked him into another room.There were hell-bound and determined that I was not going to talk to my son. I let them know in an instant that my sister had already contacted the police b/c they had misled me about where to come to the service, (which she hadnt), but I saw that they did not intend to let me leave either. I actually thought they were going to kidnap me and likely kill me. I finally got my son out the door & we ran to the car.When I got back home in NC, I called the sheriffs dept. in that county and asked them what they knew about the place. They had no idea what place I was talking about. I even called them back the next week b/c my son was so concerned about some of the guys he had met there who were already brainwashed. I begged them to go check the place out, but they werent concerned.My son had been put through extreme brainwashing techniques the few days he was there. I doubt if I would have ever seen him again if I hadnt decided to go see about him and check out the type of place he was staying.Anyone ever heard of the religious cult, 2 x 2s, also known as The Black Stockings and The Church With No Name? Read about them. It will scare you so bad that you will not go within 100 miles of this place!My son is fine now, after getting a divorce. We still talk about what the hell he went through those few days he was there. It actually took about two weeks before he was himself again. Please, stay away from this place! There is help out there that is not a cult!

I went there this past week and upon talking to steve before commiting he seemed like a really great and genuine person and child of god and i was told there would be structure and staff. For one the place doesnt do blood tests and is extremely dirty. The guys i was with in the orogram had only been there 2 weeks and were leading me and teaching me. They had no idea what was even going on in bible study there was no organization to anything. And steve was nowhere to be found he would pop in every now and then but as far as leadership there was none. I was continously ignored and steve never did my intake. This place is seriously dirty and there is no sanitation. If you sre looking for a place to get clean and worship god in a organized fashion and expect to be welcomd and treated like a family member or even feel loved this is def not the place. I was misguided and ignored and felt alone. When youre coming off drugs st lesst for the first week or so you need to feel loved and included i did not at all. And again the fact that im tsking orders and being treated unfairly by another addict that has been there only 2 weeks is just didturbing. I was told i wasnt alloeed to talk to steve and that my overseer ehich was the guy thst had only been there 2 weeks. Had to talk to steve to see if i could talk to steve. Im sorry and im only being honest i would never bash a person that has gotten clean and right with the lord but this place is a joke and just plain disgusting. When i decided i was going to leave i asked steve for my phone and belongings i was 80 miles from. Home and knew nothing about the area. I asked steve ti let ke charge my phone so i could try and find a ride to get home to knoxville he wouldnt lef me charge my phone nor let me call my dad to explain what was going on. So i ended up grabbing my stuff and hitchhiking to the nearest store to charge my phone. Seriously this program is a joke snd rctremely dirty. So if you wnt to be treated like a less than human being and no real guidance and bed bugs and exposure to hep c with no way to disinfect anything becausr they dont have antibacterial soap then is the place for you. Absoluge joke

I have the privilege first hand to see this ministry in action and to see lives of men and women changed forever! I serve in the ministry when I can helping with worship and technical arts, serving alongside other servant hearts, and have had the chance to listen to many testimonies of folks attending U-Turn. I went through the entire program and contrary to a previous review by somebody here, I am now able to say I have years of being clean and given my life back through Christ. When I saw pastor Steve he was driving an older mini van and made the time to talk with guys on the ranch during the day. Its not a $10,000 for 28 days facility so no,we didnt eat a porterhouse every night and return to our Malibu beach view, but we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner and got to enjoy the beautiful hills of north east Tennessee. Kicking drug addiction is doesnt work without Christ! He will meet you anywhere but at U-Turn you have other guys going who know what youre going through, that can help eachother reach for.Jesuss hand to pull us out of the hole and make us whole!

I went to U Turn For Christ Tennessee and was an overseer also. I get both sides. Honestly I believe this program is not for the faint of heart, but for those that are fighting for their lives. We dont need a soft hand All the time but we do need love that will hold us, tell us the truth, call us on our mess, and help us walk this walk we have forgotten or never had of being sober. We are tough, rough, and have hurt a lot of people in active addiction. We need someone to call us on our lies, manipulation, and mess. Who better than that someone that has been there, got the happy meal n trophy too. 😁 It is one helping another with what they have learned. Jesus is the Center of it all.Pastor Steve has made mistakes like we all have and learned as he went. We all have. Everyone is different. He has seen me at my lowest, and darkest points in my life. He was,the 1st one to not judge me n welcome me with open arms n tell me the truth bout my mess. He is now seeing the fruit of my life sober again. I am forever grateful to him, Dottie, Peter, and U Turn. I have stayed in touch with ladies that are still sober also today. Like I said it is not for everyone. Just like any other program only those who are serious and want it will hang on. The fruit of being sober is amazing n life is new everyday. Even bad days are better with the Lord n sober than the best day in addiction.

I would highly recommend U-Turn For Christ. I had the privilege to go through the program about ten years ago and am still free from drugs and alcohol. Iv been at U-turn for 8 months now...it has been the best thing thats ever happened to me...its not a easy program...probably the hardest thing ive ever done...but i thank God every day for this ministry...you have to have it in your heart to change...if you let go and let God...he will bless you like you never thought possible...ive learned so much from being here..im thankful for alot more now, iv learned to love my brothers and help others grow closer to God by just giving my testimony. I would like to take this moment to share with all who are reading, a little about U Turn For Christ Tennessee. My name is Holly Moore. I was the very first woman to go through Tennessee womens ranch in 2005. Unfortunately, for so many women whos lives have been destroyed by addictions, will not have the privilege that I did. Due to the womens ranch closing down in 2015. Thankfully though it is not the only one. There are still womens ranches in other states even other countries I believe. But I say this about Tennessee because God brought me to this ranch. And so thankful He did. You see when I got there in 2005, I was 30 years old and broken. I had been addicted to drugs, and everything else that took the focus off of me since I was 17. I was so addicted to drugs that my parents were scared for me. They thought that I would either lose my life, or end up in prison for the rest of it. So even though the ranch had not opened yet, they put me in the car in Florida (where we lived) and drove me all the way up the east coast, and even to Canada for over a month just so they could keep me safe untill they could drop me off when it finally did. Thank you Jesus for parents that are not afraid to realize I didnt need to be cuddled anymore. What I needed was just what U turn 4 Christ Tennessee had to offer. PURE JESUS!!! If people want to call it brainwashing then feel free. Praise God for washing my brain with the Word of God which is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.(Hebrews 4:12 NKJV) How do I know this verse? Because I got washed in the word at this ranch. It is the only place I have ever been where for as long as I wanted to stay there I could. Fasting from the world and all that it has, to sit at the feet of Jesus. And get the oppurtunity to serve Him at the same time. I will also like to say, if It wasnt for Jesus and this ranch, I wouldnt be writing this right now. Because I would be to busy with a needle hanging out my arm, and a pipe in my mouth, thinking about the imaginary people that were about to bust through my door at any minute. Or how I was going to rob you for my next fix. All the while manipulating my parents to believe everyone else is the problem. But thankfully a guy like Pastor Steve Norgren answered the call on his life, and suffered enough pain with his addiction. That he stepped out of his comfort zone and opened a place on the east coast, where men and women could realize they had been lied to by the world, and all it has to offer. A place where everyday you see the power of God in your life. The grace He has for you. A place where miracles happen. Because Pastor Steve knows he is a miracle, and he knows Gods not partial and wants us to experience the same freedom. Sadly to my own selfishness, I fell after I left there in 2005. As a matter a fact I went threw the ranch 3 times. Yes 3 times. Im a real knucklehead, I know. But a very blessed knucklehead. One that had the opportunity to get over myself at U TURN FOR CHRIST TENNESSEE!!!!

Its a though program but Ive seen so many men come to a close walk with the Lord thru it, the answer to any addiction is to overcome the sin problem by Jesus, this program does that with high focus on bible studies making disciples not just focuses on freeing people from addictions but freeing people from the bondage of sin in relationship with Jesus.
