This place was so awesome!! The customer service was great from the moment I walked in. Dr. Nesbitt was very knowledgeable and truly cared about getting me in comfortable contact lenses. She was very thorough and answered any questions I had. The other employees were also very accommodating and helped me with my insurance. Great service overall!! Thanks guys.

I will never go to this place again. The Dr was great. She discussed each of our issues. We specifically discussed prisms since Ive had them before. She agreed. We get to the sales floor. Long story short I asked for my scripts. Was told theyd be emailed. I ended up finding them on the site. Never got the email. No prism or pd measurement on the site. I called back was put through a loop. They emailed them, will email them again. I never got them finally frustrated I called & demanded she just tell me. She said my pd was 31. I know my eyes arent that close together. She claims they dont have any for my son although she measured, or acted like she measured them. . I give up. I want to cancel the glasses I ordered. I dont trust them at all now. I will be going to another eye Dr.

Outstanding service 2 years in a row. I have purchased both contact lenses and glasses for myself, as well as glasses for both of my sons. Dr. Nesbitt (she is now working out of their Vernon Hills office) was incredible in answering all of my questions and making sure my trial contact lenses were what I needed to correct my vision. Frank has been wonderful to work with and has so much knowledge when it comes to the insurance and discounts. Ashley also is great on the phone and got me the receipts I needed to submit to my flex spending. I really appreciate the staff and the availability to make appointments on their website.

Great selection of eye wear, knowledgeable, and Frank was a real pleasure to work with on getting glasses and contacts for my whole family. The optometrist was real nice and caring. She explained everything to us. We will be back next year!

After calling for an update on my glasses after weeks, I received a text message and email yesterday saying they were ready to be picked up. Packed up my infant this afternoon and drove out to Grayslake. Was told at the door I needed to make an appointment. Nothing in the text or email says to do that. “Your glasses are ready for pick up”. That’s it. So they left me in the cold with an infant and told me to call and make an appointment. Just hand them to me through the door! They’re paid for! Unreal. Now I have to go back in a few hours. Major inconvenience even without a baby to haul back and forth. Won’t be back after this. Too bad, I liked Dr Carla and the staff.

Never ever again. Stay away. Unprofessional and lack of customer service. Eye exams on Sept. 15 for husband and me. 4 pairs of glasses ordered. With insurance, over $2,700. One pair of mine was delivered Sept 26. My second pair Oct. 13. As of Dec 1st, my husband still does not have his glasses. We are told we would be called back with updates after they hear from their suppliers, but they never call us. We are continually reaching out to obtain updates. Roman and Kiesha are AWESOME front end people. Liz (who claims to be the manager) lacks customer service ability and refuses to apologize or acknowledge a problem. She hung up on my husband and then denied doing so when I telephoned back. Save yourself the misery and go elsewhere.

Super nice place.Staff went out of there way to make sure i was getting the best possible price for my contacts and glasses. Staff also deeply cared about making sure i was doing the healthiest possible things for my eyes. Highly recommend

I was extremely impressed with how I was greeted from Roberta extremely bubbly well dressed what a great experience! I wish all places were this friendly when you walk in the door! Im not ready to buy glasses right now but , when i do Im definitely going back there because of Roberta! i rate her a 5 star ! if your looking for glasses heres the place

Awesome assistance from Simon General Manager. I had bought a years worth of daily wear contacts that did not work for me. He was very helpful and offered me various options but i no longer live in the area so he facilitated a refund.

I recently went to MyEyeDr and had an exam completed in order to purchase some contact lenses. I had a great experience! The staff was pleasant, friendly and professional. We had a hard time finding the right contacts for me because I need them to see distance & close up. (not to mention my eyes are 2 different prescriptions) They were very patient with me & never made me feel like I was being difficult. My experience was outstanding because Kat made sure I was happy and she refused to give up on me! She promised me I would find contacts that I would be comfortable with and we did! It may have taken a few tries of fine tuning but I found them! Thank you Kat & all her Grayslake team! I highly recommend this office!

Due to COVID 19 situation my “regular” MyEyeDr location was closed. Not only they were closed but the office would not return any of my phone calls left with the answering service for over 2 weeks. I call the Grayslake location which was open and I spoke with SIMON, the office manager. Despite of how busy the office was, he was extremely professional, kind and helpful. Even though my daughter was never a patient there he was willing and was able to help us. Again thank you for going the extra mile, Simon!

Dont trust this location to do what they promise. Last Friday I went in (new prescription in hand) to look for new glasses and select some possible frames. The young man who helped me said he would hold for a week the three frames I liked. Today I go in to take a second look and get a quote for the total cost of frames plus lenses. Im immediately told the man is no longer with the company, but someone else will help me. After ten minutes or more of waiting, Im informed that they cannot locate the frames. Apologies followed. The real corker was subtly saying that it was the fault of the clerk who no longer works with the company. My response was This is the same business as was here last week, is it not? Needless to say, we walked out. A whole hour and a half was wasted last week. In the past, when this business was operated as Specs, we were always very pleased with the results. This was the first time I tried to do business here since they became MyEyeDr. It will be the last!

So far Im not impressed. I loved Spex. Great care with personal attention With My Eye Doctor, I feel like its corporate. Im just another couple dollars in the pocket. Glasses are now several days overdue. No call regarding the delay. I called and was promised a call back with an ETA. So, two days have passed and no response. I called again (it took 4 calls for them to answer), and was told that If they came in, we would have called She was rather curt with me. After years of being a faithful Spex , I will not be going back to My Eye Doctor patron

When this place used to be Spex it was a great place. Now that this place has changed ownership to “MyEyeDr” this place has gone downhill. From the unexplained extras until after they are already performed, to the extremely high prices for just lenses. I’ve found my new vision place and will never set foot here again!

Happy to report they were very apologetic when I picked up my glasses and acknowledged there wrong doings and went above and beyond. Thank you for taking care of the situation.My original review was a 1 start rating. This was why.Please know this review has no reflection on the Drs at this location. I was not seen by one. I was just filling a prescription made by a different location.Buyer beware!I have to admit this has been my worst experience so far regarding the prescription eye wear ordering process. It wasnt like I called back and made order corrections after leaving. I paid a lot of $$ for 2 pairs of glasses thinking keeping business local is a good thing. I have to admit the place looks really nice and clean. The staff is very friendly. So I went through and placed my eye glass order back on May 27 2019. Glasses were supposed to be in June 11th 2019. My first pair showed up early. They were more than accommodating for me to come in early to pick them up. While I was there, paid my total balance figuring that all is well. As I leave the store is when I noticed my order was wrong. I ordered transition lenses and they were not transitioning.So I turned around and headed back inside and ask them why they were not working. Turns out they were ordered wrong. Wouldnt have know this because the person I picked them up from never reviewed my order. They only had me try them on and then cleaned them for me and process my CC payment.No big deal mistakes happen. Newly hired staff it was a busy day when I ordered them. They told me that they would reorder the correct lenses and rest assured I would not be charged for it. I tried not to laugh when I heard them tell me this. I asked if the second pair that I ordered were ordered correctly. They reassured me they were correctly ordered and should be in by the 11th.Guess what? Still waiting for my second pair of glasses. Its now 6/17 and was told today they should be in now by 6/20-6/21 but were not sure though? My first pair were sent to Oakleys lab twice and came back before MyEyeDr lab could cut one pair. Makes me question how good of a place this really is? Was told that the lab was to blame for the delay. My guess is the order was the issue from the first time. Couldnt tell you for sure because they didnt review it with me when I questioned them. They also told me they would follow-up to let me know when the glasses would be due in. I have had to be the one to follow-up each time. Very poor customer service.My recommendation, please review the order when people are picking them up. On busy days, you go to place an order and you forget what you were supposed to be ordering. Call the client and review before you place the order to avoid this mess. Also, call people back and give updates!!!! We live in the 21st century. You can get text notices when a pizza order is due to arrive. Why cant you do this with glasses?My wife was going to bring her prescription order in along with my sons. Seeing what I am going through pretty much not going to happen anytime soon. This really stinks because you are in our back yard!

Some of the doctors are not that friendly. Today the one that rechecked my perscription i could tell was in a hurry to leave. I must have been the last patient. I have been having problems with the glasses ever since i received them. The only answer i could get out of them is that they could not change my bifocal lens to make it more usable. I also had an issue where the bi focals were set to high. I spent 500 dollars on the glasses. They told me they could be adjusted and bent the frames. The bifocal is better but now the gasses are pushed up against my face and are loose. I suggested that they order me lenses with the correct placement of the bifoal but they insisted I try this. They are all about selling you a pair of glasses and sun glasses. Once they have your money you will have to fight to have things corrected.I would stay away. My next eye exam will be some where else.
