My experience with Dr. Moon and her staff is the best medical experience Ive ever had. She was enthusiastic and persistent about making sure my eyesight was at its optimum. I had to return many times over the course of two weeks in order to progressively increase my contact prescription, and every time Dr. Moon was attentive, her staff was kind and friendly, and the cost remained affordable (with the help of my insurance, of course). Ive never waited longer than 10 minutes to be seen, and Im always early, which means I sometimes am seen even before my appointment time. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Moon and her office (especially Robin Nelson, one of the opticians!) to anyone looking for a warm, friendly, and professional optometrist in the area.

From the time of my first call to make my first appointment through the end of the visit, the care and quality of treatment received was excellent. I felt the high quality of attention given to me as a patient and am confident in the testing and diagnosis received. The front desk handled my insurance with professional ease. And I feel that my new glasses will improve my vision tremendously. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Chan for an in-depth eye exam. I am grateful that they are located in Grass Valley, CA.

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Chan for years. Our prescriptions are always perfect when we pick up new glasses and the choice of frames is fantastic. They always keep up with the latest fashion trends in frames and offer sun glasses that clip on magnetically for many frames which are very economical and stylish. We look forward to our annual exams and find the opticians in the office to be well educated, trained and very friendly. We wouldnt go anywhere else for our optical needs.

I got to be examined by Dr. Allgeier (he is the youngest optometrist Ive ever met and been examined by in the 38 years Ive been seeing optometrists and wearing glasses -contacts for 1&1/2 years only - since I was 10 yrs. old) Dr. Allgeier is the most cordial, friendly, professional, experienced, knowledgeable, well educated, trained and well spoken with explaining diagnosis, testing, conditions, treatment and prescriptions that I have ever had the extreme pleasure of being examined by. The whole staff there, the 2 ladies that gave me the most detailed, extensive and technologically advanced testing with the most up-to-date modern equipment, which lasted an hour for me with my light sensitivity issue, had the most patience and were the most pleasant to work with! Caitlyn at the front desk was most professional and thorough not missing a thing and very sweet! I loved my experience there!

My daughter and I have been patients of Dr. Moon for over 15 years. Thanks to Dr. Moons care and being current with technology she was the first in our area to have Optimat equipment which discovered a possible detached retina in one of my daughters eyes. Because of this timely information the retina was able to be repaired. Thank goodness. Her offices are friendly and convenient.

I have never been here as a patient but was waiting for a referral to go through made by urgent care the previous night that was taking too long. I was having extreme pain, redness and swelling in both eyes (on a Friday of course) and nobody could see me. I called this office and the woman was incredibly kind and caring even though we immediately discovered their office didnt take my insurance and I would have to pay out of pocket. Not only did they squeeze me in but the doctor put me in at the end of his day to make sure he spent enough time with me considering the severity of my symptoms. As I arrived for my appt the referral office called telling me to come in right away which I did since I was covered under them. I would highly recommend this office just based on how they treated me with care and concern over the phone. They truly stood out to me.

Its always a delightful experience to visit Dr. Moon for an eye exam. The staff are pleasant, friendly and professional, from the receptionists at the beginning til the eyeglass specialists at the end. I never wait more than a few minutes after signing in, and even when I dont have an appointment because Im dropping off glasses to be sent in for fixing scratches, or picking up a pair of glasses, they still take care of me in an efficient manner. The office is a well oiled machine, every part of it runs smoothly and efficiently, with warmth and lots of smiles as well.I trust my eyes with Dr.Moon. She is current and up to date in her field and has state of the art diagnostic tools available, such as the optimap for those who want to track for macular degeneration. The eyeglass fitters are great; they are patient and fun to spend time with. I always leave happy with my choice of frames and looking forward to returning to pick them up and get that final fitting. I am pleased to recommend this eye care center with highest honors.

Never got to the great doctors due to poor reception experience!Reception during scheduling over the phone demanded I provide not only vision insurance info but also medical insurance info and said she could not schedule me without it. Given I provided her accurate VSP info to look me up and she didnt try to reconfirm any of the info she had taken down incorrectly she shared she could not schedule me. I told her Ill get the ins piece cleaned up, but Im happy to pay directly in the meantime. She then admitted she could schedule me but only after she created a bad experience.During the chat over the phone she also maintained she needed my medical ins info which Ive never had to provide to any optometrist in 15 yrs of needing glasses. She said it was for the file if anything medically occurred during the exam. In this era of hacking and identity fraud, I try to provide retailers/providers with insufficient security systems (remember target?) as little info as possible. Through this process, she was demonstrating a debate like approach with me, the customer, and clearly was paying more attention to the info she required, even if she really needed it or not, than my experience with her & her office. At that point I got off the phone with her, called VSP and what a difference in customer service and attitude! Within 90 seconds the rep had me confirmed, reviewed my benefits and began calling Moon & Chan to confirm I was covered - all while I was still on the phone. We ended up on the phone with what appeared to be an office manager who after the VSP rep & I explained my experience, apologized and said she had a few new folks in training. I replied I understood - no problem - as I had just trained someone earlier that day. So all is good, right - well, not so fast...Upon arriving two days later for my appt., I encountered the same receptionist I had spoken to over the phone. Same drill - I need your vision insurance info (which the office manager already took over the phone and confirmed it was in her computer). I stated that VSP was cardless so then she moved to the next item asking again for my medical insurance and again stated it was again for the file in case any medical procedures were done during my exam upon my asking. At this point I again shared my original response that we would cross that bridge when we got to it if needed. At that point she demonstrated a strong attitude and while still interacting with me at the counter, stopped looking at me or communicating with me. I tuned around and took a seat to begin filling out my medical history/background which I was totally fine providing only to realize this was a horrible experience. I walked back to the counter gave her the clipboard back and gathered my license and left. What seemed like it could have been a great relationship was ruined by a snotty receptionist more focused on checking off a checklist of boxes in front of her than my experience with her office. Lesson to Moon & Chan - dont sacrifice customer experience for your own data requirements, especially for data you dont even need! Time to keep training.!!!

I cant imagine trusting my eye sight to anyone other than the Drs and staff of Chan, Moon & Kirschbaum! Dr. Chan is the most through, professional, kind and patient Dr. Ive known since coming to Nevada county 35 yrs. ago.Ive never left their office with an unanswered question or concern. Everyone in the office seems more than happy to spend whatever time it may take to address each & every issue. They are dedicated to providing the most excellent care possible. Also, it is nearly impossible to leave their office in a bad mood. The staff is always contagiously cheerful. They make having a Dr. appointment worth looking forward to.There are just not enough words to sing their praises!!! Trusting your eyes to anyone else, in my opinion, is the gravest of mistakes!! I recommend them to everyone!!!!!
