This was my first time at GRO. Dr. Hessler was concise, friendly, and proficient. He was everything I would need for my yearly routine eye exam. The nurse was proficient and friendly. The office staff went out of there way to accommodate me with my special needs, and to explain the billing procedures. I thought the prices for new eye glasses were a little too high for my budget, but thats just me and my circumstances. Al in all, I would recommend GRO for your vision needs. They are located in the Mercy Health Center, with easy access and plenty of parking.

They were very friendly and organized. Dr. Hassler showed great care and concern for my eyes and total well being. He answered all my questions and concerns.

A wonderful surgeon. It was scary to have someone operate on my eye, but Dr. Gohel answered my questions and made it much easier. I had all positive experiences until my last follow up visit at six months. That time I waited almost 45 minutes in the examining room for the doctor to be able to see me, and none of the staff checked in to let me know he was delayed. That was annoying.

The staff and doctors are amazing! Unfortunately the wait in the lobby/ waiting area/ patient rooms is way too long. I understand there are way too many patients to be seen, but the web page should advise patients that the wait will be long and to plan according.

The receptionist and technicians were very friendly and professional. The doctor was on time and very thorough. Great exam overall.

DR. Hessler is very good taking care of my eyes. He takes the time to explain things and is patient to answer my questions. Hes very personable and friendly.

The people here are very nice BUT there is always a wait over 2 hours for my girlfriend for some reason. By time they get to her, her eyes wont even be dilated by time they get to her! They clearly need more Doctors.

I just met Dr. Hessler for an exam regarding cataracts. An extremely pleasant and patient dr. He explained the surgery in terms I was able to understand so dont feel so nervous about going in for surgery. Everyone is always so friendly at GR Ophthalmology.

Someone to greet or direct to where one would wait for apt. I thought his apt. was w/Optometrist but instead Hunter was scheduled for an ophthalmologist apt. It was not made clear so 10 min. was spent waiting for someone to notice us.

Dr is good but 2 hour appointment is ridiculous..our time is valuable as well as the physicians..was here with my husband and everytime its ridiculous how long it takes..they need to address this problem.

I worked as part of Blue Sky vision for 14 months. One of the benefits the employees of BSV receive is that they get free annual eye exams within the BSV team. GRO Grandville billed ours incorrectly, and about 6 weeks after my spouses annual eye exam I left the BSV team and moved to another group. Now theyre trying to hound use for $275 that should have been covered under medical insurance, And that was already included as part of employee benefits.I would not recommend Eye Care Partners, Blue Sky Vision, or Grand Rapids Ophthalmology, simply because of their billing policies, and their immoral billing behaviors toward employees who are, will soon be, or have left employment within their group.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I had an appointment scheduled and over an hour later I was still waiting in the waiting room. I was not taken back to a room, I had not seen a doctor and had no updates. Why in the world would this business think that patients can spend an entire day waiting around to be seen. What is the purpose of making an appointment when you wont be seen at that time? No apologies, it just seemed as if this is normal practice for this business. Under no circumstance will I be back

Grand Rapids ophthalmology has always been great! The doctors and techs are friendly and do everything to get it right. Very pleased with them as an eye care provider.However, I would not recommend buying glasses from them, unless you want to spend a TON of money. I went in with insurance and they estimated it to cost me $500 (even with insurance). And my prescription isnt special in any way. Dont waste your time. Person trying to sell them to me kept trying to get me to buy them. I also asked at the beginning if my insurance covered both glasses and contacts and they said yes. I found out at the end that it actually didnt cover both. Total waste of my time. Will never buy eyeglasses from them.

Dr Choryan is always very complete is his exams. Im very comfortable with him, we have been seeing him for many years.

I go to the Grandville office and they are prompt, professional and friendly. I have had Dr. Choryan as my doc for several years and he is right on with my concerns and my needs for eye care. I would recommend this office to anyone looking for great quality eye care.

The Doctor checked my eyes again and found the prescription was off a little. As Doc said it needed to be tweaked a little. I am waiting for new lenses to come in right now so I am hoping all will be great as soon as I get them.

Dr. Choryan always does a thorough exam and listens to any concerns that I might have. Just recently I had some hot bacon grease splash in my eye and Dr. Choryan take good care of me.

I have been coming here for several years. The staff is always very cordial. Most of the time I have had a very positive experience and my glasses have served me well. I did have one experience that took 3 tries to get my prescription correct.

Conscientious and thorough eye care. The only reason not 5 stars is that I had to find out about Blue Tech glasses through a coworker who also goes to GR Ophthalmology. I had expressed my concern about working on computers and having trouble w fluorescent lights to the routine eye doctor and was told there was no solution. I am glad my coworker has a doctor that can help us both!

I was very pleased with the care I got at Grand Rapids Ophthalmology. Dr. Wilke noticed things others had missed, clearly explained every detail and gave me lots of good suggestions.

I find Dr Gohel to be very professional and knowledgable of my eye problem. He does an excellant job of administering the injection with little or no discomfort. He is always friendly and has an excellent support staff.

This was my first appointment with this practice tho I’ve had many years of personal experience as an ophthalmology patient outside of Michigan. The process from my initial phone call through the medical exam, and checkout, was efficient, effective, courteous, friendly and professional. My expectations were exceeded.

Saw dr moorehouse today, I feel like he was rushed and did not explain cataract surgery very well, told me to decide if I want it or not, I feel the dr should tell you that, just felt uncomfortable with him and dont think I would let him ever do surgery on my eyes

Dr. Choryan was very thorough and pleasant. I had concerns after my cataract surgeries about my vision at night. He agreed that a mild RX for night driving would be helpful. I now have glasses in my car and I can read the street signs at night!I was also concerned about the loss of eyelashes after my surgeries. They have thinned so much that I get debris in my eyes on windy days. There doesnt seemto be enough lashes to protect my eyes from dust and dirt? He said we could address that issue but we both forgot about the problem after my vision exam. I was hoping there was a remedy for this problem?

Dr. Veldkamp worked very well with my autistic, non-verbal teenager. If she can manage to check his eyes, I imagine, shell do wonders for anyone who has a challenging child. My only slight observation is that the lobby is quite crowded, but, once you are moved to the pending visit waiting area in back, things are much quieter.

I get shots for Diabetic Rhetinopathy every month from Dr. Gohel. He and his staff are always so nice and try so hard to make this unpleasant procedure as comfortable as possible. Id recommend this office,and have,to anyone needing any type of vision care.They are wonderful.

We really like the doctors there, but the rest of the staff and the way the office is run, is terrible. I just waited over 2 hours for a 5 minute doc visit. Had a referral from another office and reports were send before visit, but two of the techs had no idea why I was there. Even the doc had to be told that theres a referral/report from the referring doctor. Then to add insult to injury, I had to stand in line with people checking in to check out. Somebody needs to look at how this office is run and make some changes to be more efficient. A lot of patients have to take time off work to see a doctor and cant afford to waste 2 hours waiting because of poor management at the front lines.

Very kind, listened well, and explained things very thoroughly. Really liked him and his bedside manner.
