I liked this small office. Staff were pleasant and more personal that the bigger offices of GRO. Dr. Dunning was thorough and explained everything. I had asked him about laser surgery and he forgot to answer that question after my eye exam.

The visit went great. I was in and out quickly with all my questions and concerns answered. I trust Dr Dunning completely with my eyes.

Dr. Schultz did a great job with my eye exam. He explained everything to me in a very clear manner. He was also kind and friendly. All of the staff was great and helpful!

It is essentially impossible to book an appointment here. After calling back and forth 5 or 6 times as well as trying to book online (and then my appointment was canceled less than a week out after waiting almost 2 months), I ended up saying forget it and booked an appointment somewhere else. Expect at least a month out to get in for an appointment, potential cancelations close to your appointment time, and not being able to use them for an emergency appointment even though you call first thing when they open because they never have time slots open.

He was so very thorough and spent time explaining in detail every aspect of my problem.

I do not recommend this place at all. The staff are extremely unprofessional around patients - joking and laughing about buying stuff on Amazon and going out to the bar after work while I wait forever to be seen by a doctor or anyone who knows what they are doing. I felt extremely uncomfortable and uncared for. I have taken work off multiple times to get glasses, something that takes minutes at an eye glasses store. I specifically went to a doctor because I thought I’d be cared for. After waiting 45 minutes after my appointment time, I had my eyes tested and the doctor rushed me in and rushed me out. I was given the wrong prescription where my vision was blurry and the glasses basically unusable. I called to had them corrected and made an apt 2 weeks out. That apt was canceled due to a snow storm - totally understandable. But I got a voicemail saying “we need to reschedule”. No apology. No nothing. I had already taken work off and the next available appointment was two weeks later. Finally see a doctor again after and didn’t get any help I needed. I am going somewhere else. Do not recommend at all.

This place does an amazing job. Ive been going there for 15 years and Ive never had the need to find another place.. great job!!

Casey and the other optometry guy (sorry can’t remember his name), were super helpful in picking out glasses and being super honest about what looked good and what didn’t. I appreciated that. I don’t love that you can’t just walk in anymore to try on glasses, but it’s Covid I get it. The appointment actually probably makes things run smoother so that the staff has their undivided attention on you.

Timely, courteous, went the extra mile to double check my vision problems, and In my opinion truly cares about my situation.Would recommend him to anyone.

Grand Rapids Ophthalmology staff are amazing! They are so helpful, accurate and accommodating. They treat you with respect, take care of your needs and follow through with what they say they will do. Im grateful for finding them and would recommend you go there.

Went in for a simple glasses adjustment. Left without them fitting well, although the gentleman helping me assured me they were perfect. After going in a second time the same day I still did not feel as though they fit me well, but felt pressured to leave with them the way they were. As with most places and people in EGR: VERY SNOBBY.

Had a problem develop in my left eye almost overnight. Called and they worked me in. Got examined and left with a script for medication. Dr. Schultz was very professional and direct and I was out of there in no time.

I am on a visit to Grand Rapids when the arm falls off my glasses.. and I cant see the screw! I google glasses places nearby and see(fuzzily) Lakeshore Eye. I wasnt sure if theyd fix my glasses as Im not a patient. I walked in and was cheerily greeted. When I explained what happened a nice young man took my glasses and fixed them in a couple minutes. No charge or anything! So awesome! Im forever thankful.

I was very impressed with Dr. Schultz taking the time to discuss my eye health and family history in detail. He went beyond simple yes/no answers providing the rationale behind his responses. In addition he took the time to discuss, in detail, multiple options for vision correction and the +/- of each.

Dr. Schultz did an amazing job explaining everything in terminology that I was able to comprehend. The office I went to was super clean and well put together. I met with some of the most pleasant and considerate employees who I knew would take care of my needs. I would definitely recommend this office to any of my family/friends.

I so appreciated Dr. Shultz taking the time to explain why high blood sugar is bad for my eyes and why I shouldn’t wear my contacts longer than they are designed for. In the past I’ve been lectured by other doctors but he actually explained why in a way I could understand. He was GREAT!!! This is the place to go, period. Dave and Lisa were SOOO kind and helpful, and the choice of lens/frames was top notch. Unfortunately, I didnt get my eye exam there, but they REMADE the glasses (regular and sunglasses) when I found out my original prescription was wrong (from the other eye doctor). Nice setting and easy to get to!

Best eye exam ever! Dr. Shultz took the time to explain treatment options for my eye and gave the most detailed description of how progressive glasses work. Also described how single vision can work for mid vision (music stand.)

Very disappointing experience as a first-time customer! Dr. Schultz was very professional during exam, but he wrote me a single vision Rx while well aware that I was wearing progressives. I didnt realize it till Ive placed order for my new glasses with Warby Parker. Ive spent last 3 days on the phone, talking to a numerous people asking them to fix it, but still no luck. Every single person Ive talked to promised me to talk to Dr. Schultz, make a change and communicate it back to me and Warby Parker, but they never did. This is absolutely unacceptable, so my first visit there will definitely be the last one.

They are the best place I have found in west Michigan. They tend to cost a tiny bit more, but way better service and selction. I have a very challenging prescription and they help me pick out good glasses that hide how thick my lenses are. They have been great for years. In my 20 years of wearing glasses they have always gotten my prescription right and no one else has (I have tried a couple other places)

Put at ease and always great service. But upon completion of cataract surgery I started to feel like I was on an assembly line that is appointments were being stacked on top of each other so much that you were spend a lot of time waiting for follow ups.

Dr. Shultz is so friendly and explains terms that could be alarming in plain English.
