I thought the point of counseling was to get help , not get ambushed by the counselor and my now for sure soon to be ex. Cynthia May is pretty much a joke. Instead of saving my marriage doe read it it’s death sentence. Trip to the hospital and this post all that’s good about this place. Stay away from here!!!

Minimally helpful (mostly harmful) and they seem to have a stereotypical agency culture of us against them and become punishing and bitter if you struggle with treatment. It was impossible to have a collaborative relationship and my mental health improved tremendously after relying on myself and other resources for treatment instead. Things were great until I needed actual therapy and its hard to recommend therapists that are less helpful than going it alone. Turned me off to therapy for good. I would have chosen self-help books instead of spending a second here if I knew what I know now.

***DO NOT GO HERE***I went to this counseling center because they advertise their sliding fee scale for patients. During my first appointment, they couldnt figure out if my health insurance was active or not, so they told me to proceed with the appointment and assured me that it wouldnt be an issue if I didnt have health insurance because of the sliding fee scale. Both the receptionist AND counselor told me this. I had the intake and scheduled another appointment after. During my second appointment, I gave them the application for the sliding fee scale just in case because they STILL could not figure out if I had health insurance or not. They assured me AGAIN to proceed with the appointment because of the sliding fee scale. I received a call TWO WEEKS LATER right before my third appointment telling me that I did NOT qualify for the sliding fee scale due to my income and that I now owe $200 for my previous appointments, even though my first appointment was 45 minutes long due to my counselor trying to figure out my insurance and my second appointment was only 50 minutes. They charged me for both appointments at 53 minutes, which is false. They did not take into consideration the fact that I dont have health insurance, have rent to pay, debt, as well as many other bills due. They only took into account my income BEFORE taxes, which is absolutely absurd. They advertise that theyre here to help people; however, that is not the case. They are extremely slow moving when it comes to their patients. For what its worth, do not go here. I was very optimistic when starting counseling here but it is now very obvious that theyre not here to help the ones in need and just take their money.

I called this morning to get some therapy information for a friend. The receptionist (I don’t recall her name 😕) was very kind and super helpful. They took all his information to get an appointment set up for him.

They dont call back, and when you speak to a supervisor, they are arrogant. I played phone tag with them for a month trying to get an appointment. I told this to my social worker at dialysis, she didnt believe me. Til she herself tried calling them in front of me. they did the same thing to her. They called me once, the phone only rang twice, then they hung up. and I was put on hold again til they tried calling back. By that time I was so disappointed, I gave them a piece of my mind, then hung up.

I went to this counseling center on my own seeking help with anger and alcohol because Net180 refer me to different places and this one was my first choice. During my first appointments I was schedule with Gregory K. an Outpatient Therapist. My sections with Mr. Gregory have been going well so far. Mr. Gregory then refer me to IOP. When I went to the center for my first time for IOP, I got there 3 minutes late @ 10:03am and IOP started at 10am at the dot. The receptionist in this case was Ms. Nancy T…and she advise me to take a sit and that the lady from the IOP will come and get me. Long story short, I was waiting on the lobby for an hour. At 11 am I ask the other receptionist a Spanish lady. What happened, I been waiting for over an hour for IOP? She immediately contacted the IOP lady Ms. Li (Wanda) Wang who came and introduce herself and took me to the IOP room. While in the room Ms. Wang told me that the section was not going to be counted because it has passed already an hour and for the insurance, I must be there for 3 hours for them to bill. She never mentions how I was feeling, If I had any needs or Never apologizes for the inconvenience; she was just into the money… Now this place got me wondering???? I thought the point of counseling was to get help. I was very optimistic when starting counseling here, but it is now obvious that theyre not here to help the ones in need and just here to take their money.
