My sister was transferred to Regency Hospital for her ruptured brain aneurysm on June 19, 2019.Overall we had a good experience. There were a handful of good staff and like any other business, we had a few inattentive staff members. Theres a consistent schedule thats being listed on the white board for the patient/family. We were allowed to stay overnight as many days we wanted. The cafeteria food was priced incredibly affordable and decent compare to the other hospitals Ive been to. The hospital team were on top of things in getting my sister into an intense therapy program with her quick recovery. It is a bit confusing to get to the hospital only because you have to drive through a beautiful neighborhood to get to the hospital. You have to continue to go straight on Hidden Lakes PKWY. There is plenty of parking in front of the hospital with a super short walk to the entrance. Every day, you must check-in/out at the front desk with security to obtain a name tag. The hospital has a real simple layout so it would be impossible to get lost. There is no smoking allowed on the premises.

If you don’t care about your loved one and their well being, this is the place to send them. Hoping their birth certificate expires and you can claim your inheritance, Regency is the place for you. If you DO love your family member, do not send them here. Even before staffing shortages, their care was sub par. The facility is dirty. I felt like I needed a shower when I left there. They can lack on their patient care because they are THE ONLY LTHC in the state. It is worth it to send your family member to South Dakota. Either JACO does not monitor them or they slip between the cracks because they would never pass. If Mayo had not had my son return to them for a surgery he would have died in this facility. My son was dirty. They didn’t clean him properly and he smelled something awful. Mayo fixed that too. They have got have malpractice suits pending. The administration must not be involved at all. Just takes their money and run.

Terribly unorganized, you are given a call light (why, I dont know). and it took 15 to 45 minutes for someone to respond when you hit the button. I could not walk and was very vulnerable, recovering from from Covid, pneumonia, and being intubated. they handled me like I was a sack of potatoes. getting an I.V. was extremely painful. it took one nurse FIVE pokes to get it right. you hear Ill be right back over and over, only to have to wait again. Also, Im sorry seems to follow anything they do. rough handling, then Im sorry...most nurses were. good but there were some that should have been brick layers. it was a night mare...would NOT recommend.

My Uncle has been in here for a year. His days are ending. They moved his room amd lost all of his belongings. Glasses, treasured pictures and even his favorite blanket. How do you LOSE these items from one room to another? Well they wont answer us either. Hes on his death bed and one person is allowed to say goodbye and sit with him while dying amd not his family. Very unsympathetic and careless staff. This place is like an unorganized assusted living facility not a hospital!!

Would never wish my worst enemy to be sent to this facility. Very dirty, ran very poorly. Items from my father were stolen from his room, which was by staff. No communication, no doctor check ups. Room temperature was insanely high. A nurse assistant would pop their heads in maybe once during visiting hours (2-6pm). He was completely ignored. Never cleaned up. The only time we knew he was clean was from the time we visited as we did it ourselves. Horrible facility. Cannot believe it is still operating. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!

READ BEFORE SENDING YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!!This facility is absolutely horrible and I wish I could give this place a negative five stars! The staff should honestly be embarrassed even working there!Bringing our loved one to this facility, was mandatory seeing her condition and the other places available were treating “active” covid patients so this place to us was the only, and safest option!we read the reviews, to our surprise there was a few that weren’t pleasant*They’re still posted in pretty sure*There were a few that we had questions about, so we asked about the concerns that we had, We were told “Our facility is very clean” and so on and so forth.Time passes, Our loved one arrives, the same day we visit her, you could just see that they weren’t doing what they were supposed to be doing for someone who is unable to move or speak for themselves. The bathroom in her room was dirty, and no, not dust on the floor! mold on the toilet! *This is a hospital!why isn’t this clean*The nurses are lazy! One threw a Suction pack on the floor, because he had somewhere to be! Why not place something that has to go in someone’s mouth on something clean ? Super unsanitary!Calling to check up on your loved one is the hardest! it’s either they don’t answer the phones until hours later, or they’re making you feel like a bother for calling to check up on your loved one, truly and utterly Ridiculous! We made a complaint when the care was getting to the point of rushing, being rough, and leaving important mechanics off, YES, the nurse was to busy looking for her phone she didn’t notice she didn’t do her job, after a complaint was made they then started to fall victim of retaliation! They literally do the bare minimum! And if you want your loved one to have a group that shows compassion and also is gentle when need be, This isn’t the place! I can guarantee you’ll be doing the job of the “nurses” when you visit your loved one! It’s so unfortunate that people are in situations where they aren’t able to do for themselves, and it’s places like regency that makes it no better!on the bright side, I’ll be calling the department of health Monday morning! This facility needs to be looked into, Truthfully don’t know how they’re still running!Another thing we’ll be getting our loved one out of here as soon as possible, we feel so helpless while she’s in their care, we have lost all trust for them, It’s such a scary process, but they’ll be hearing from someone, They need to treat their patients better, their black African American patients for sure!!Similar stories, please feel free to contact me, this Facility needs to be shut down!!!Update| November 9th 2020They just transferred her! WITHOUT our knowledge! They said they wanted to get another “opinion”A second opinion on what ?Turns out they told the place they transferred WE requested it!Moral of the update they transferred her because the proper action is being taken because of the horrible care, crazy! I’m in disbelief!

I dont think these people know what they are doing or perhaps they are over work staff. My mom was trying to get the nurses to check out my dad because something was very wrong with him and they kept telling her everything was fine. They kicked her out making a big scene with the Security guard but she didnt want to leave him in that condition. It took me calling up and making sure he was looked at by a doctor to get him sent back to the icu. He was not ok. They dont seem like a real hospital. He also has bruises that he didnt have before he went in. I wish I had put a hidden camera in. They treated him poorly even while I was there. Horrible place

I was very unimpressed and frustrated with this facility. We had a couple good nurses taking care of mom but most of them did not provide her with the care I would have like to see her get. She was missing part of her skull as part of one of the reasons she was there and the staff were not gentle with her head. She was never to the level of clean a person should be in her couple weeks there. When she would cough, there would be a good 15 minutes before anyone would arrive to relieve her cough (suction her), even if I pressed the nurse button. I had to ask them to get them to clip her fingernails or even wash her hair. She developed an infection and they gave antibiotics but she ended up getting a second infection (probably from lack of hygiene) and the nurse told me it’s pretty common to get this life-threatening disease at this facility! She had to be transferred to North Memorial for another surgery because of this infection. The food was not terrible. The facility was older but okay. There are some really nice hiking trails. It is located back away from heavy traffic in a nice area. But the SERVICE is awful and I was glad when my mom got out of there!

I love the staff. Everybody has been so nice to me. I came so far away from home. They treat me like family. OT/PT are so special and good hearted.

We had a close friend transfer to Regency after spending time in the ICU for a brain injury following a motorcycle accident. The amount of communication and compassion that was given to the family really was were the healing started. All the clinical staff from nursing to care aides share this commitment to care.
