At 59 years old, I spent almost a year dealing with pain and limited mobility in my left shoulder and arm due to “Frozen Shoulder.”  My husband and I are busy people with an active lifestyle, and so it was torture for me not to be able to lift my grand baby, play golf, cello, or perform most exercises without pain, often severe. I was desperate to find a treatment that could restore my shoulder to its full range of motion, and I was even willing to settle for anything that would allow me to do simple basic tasks without pain. Thank goodness a friend referred me to Village Fitness and Physical Therapy.After a thorough consultation confirming my Frozen Shoulder ailment, I signed up for a series of treatments. To my complete amazement, I experienced improvement in my shoulder after my very first session! I am now approaching the end of my sessions and back to doing the things I love! I have already begun personal strength training sessions and continually feel stronger and healthier.The doctors are so skilled at listening and providing individually tailored, holistic care based 100% on my needs to improve my range of movement, physical health, and comfort. This amazing team works together to develop a plan informed by each of their areas of expertise. Communication is open, easy and professional. It is always a joy to walk into their beautiful facilities and be greeted with a friendly hello and a big smile from all the team members. Tucked away in the center of downtown Glendora is the most fabulous fitness facility for your health and money!The team at Village are all dedicated to the same beliefs of nutrition, movement and living a full life, not just by lifting massive pounds or running for miles, but by a well thought out process of exercising in a controlled progressive manner that is going to let me reach any level I wish!The staff of coaches and physical therapists are all highly educated with eagerness to pass their knowledge on.It is that education that sets Village apart from other private or “big box” gyms.Team Village are great people who motivate, teach and care!I’m in my 6th week of a 12 week program, seeing results in physical, mental and all around life wellness!It took me a long time to get moving and I’m going to continue to do so at Village Fitness!!Thank you Team Village!!Michealene M.Glendora

I have worked out at CrossFit, boot camps and gyms for years. The Village Fitness strategy of small group personal training has been the best experience for me as they actually got into my brain and made me desire a healthy lifestyle... which is not an easy task for a big dude. I have lost 30 pounds at a healthy pace, I’m lifting heavier weights, I can now touch my toes, and I’m not having to down shakes daily. Each class is meticulously thought out and capped for a size in which the trainers (who are often well-educated beyond a certification) to check your form and push you when necessary. They remember your name and goals without the manufactured hype we all know at other places. Try it out.

Village Fitness is not your typical gym!!! Their aim is much more personal than doing cardio or lifting weights, I have gained so much knowledge through the coaches! I have learned important tools to help me succeed in my health journey. Not only have I gained muscle and lost inches, my blood work has also come back with major changes. My risk for diabetes has declined significantly due to my lifestyle choices. Village fitness coaches guide and teach you about healthier habits, healthier cleaner food selections, strength training, physical therapy, tips for stretching those tight muscle groups and ligaments and so much more! Small group settings have been very encouraging to me. I was skeptical about working out with other people but to my surprise it has been part of that great experience, you are all in it together but at your own pace and working towards improving yourself. The coaches are their to assist you and coach through all the steps. I love that they use evidence based practice to educate on healthier life changes!

What can I say about a place that has literally saved my life? My son brought me their brochure and said “Mom, you need to do this”. After one conversation with Dr. Matt, I signed up, and it has been the most life-improving thing I have ever done. They provide you with constant gentle support and information in a caring, humorous, positive, and uplifting way so that you WANT to keep going. They focus on every aspect of getting you healthy and building up your strength. It really is the most unique “fitness” program I have ever encountered. In my 12 weeks with them my energy is way up ( no more afternoon slump), I have noticeably improved mental clarity, I don’t have food cravings, and I feel stronger. What’s more, every single person there is wonderful, warm, friendly, and encouraging. I just crossed the one year mark of my membership at Village Fitness. In short, it changed my life. When I started at Village, I was facing a future of hip replacement and disability (according to doctors). I was hoping I could slow down the progression. i could not have imagined then that I could be pain free and feel stronger and healthier than I ever have in my life. Village Fitness is a comprehensive fitness, nutrition, and wellness center. Head Coach Chuck walked me through the introductory session with sensitivity and professionalism. Dr. Matt (founder and owner) took the time to review MRI scans and xrays of my back and hips and said he believed Village could help me and that I did not have to be resigned to a future of disability. A year later I am amazed to say he was and is right! I have learned so much from the PT docs and coaches. Wellness and fitness are much more than just working out. Nutrition is SO important, as I first read about in Drs. Matt and Erics book Salubrius. Whatever the staff reads I read; they are always growing and learning. Weekly nutrition workshops, daily emails, and nutrition cards to follow during each 12-week cycle are so informative and encouraging. The Village Principles keep clients on track and Movement Standards are tailored to each persons ability. The coaches maintain an amazing balance of support and challenge with each client individually, whether the sessions are 1-on-1 or small group. This is NOT a fad fitness program or a crash diet plan. This is WHOLE HEALTH for your WHOLE LIFE. I am so grateful for all of the docs, coaches, and staff who create such a welcoming community and for all the Village clients are so inspiring. I highly recommend Village Fitness and Physical Therapy! This place is amazing! I first came to Village for physical therapy after a friend recommended Dr. Eric. I have bone on bone arthritis in my neck and had severe pain radiating down my arm from a pinched nerve. I quickly realized this was not a typical PT office. Every appointment is spent entirely with the doctor, and while I primarily saw Dr. Eric, who was wonderful, I also had sessions with Dr. Matt and Dr. Jacob, who were also warm, friendly, and knowledgable. I not only got the relief I was looking for at Village, but I learned I was not destined to a life of pain. Dr. Eric helped me understand I had much more control over my pain than I ever realized. That was life changing, and prompted me to start one on one training.I transitioned from PT to one on one training with Eleisha about 5 months ago, and I absolutely love it and her. She is so knowledgable, and an excellent teacher and coach. She’s kind, patient, but kicks my butt. Following their diet guidelines, I have lost the last 10 pounds I have been trying to lose for 10 years. My cholesterol numbers are fantastic, and I’m pain free.In addition, Village is one giant support system with check-ins to see your progress, regular informational emails covering everything you need to know to live a long healthy life, and friendly smiling faces from everyone who works there, and more. What a gift Village Fitness has been to me. They helped me move again after having been stuck in grief and chronic illness. Ive gained strength (as in I can see my muscles!) through the workouts that are taught by highly skilled coaches. I never knew strength training could be so fun and effective. What Ive learned and experienced here has had a ripple effect on every area of my life. VF also is super educational about healthful nutrition. Each month we have a habit to focus on, with accountability. If you come here, expect to be challenged, but to not be alone in the challenge. These people partner with you and are passionate about celebrating the strength in each of us. Sometimes it does take a Village!

This place has been amazing. I have been to so many doctors, physical therapy places, anything you think of for my neck and back injury of two years. I have been going for 6 weeks now, and my neck and back are about 90% better, starting training with them now, and working on my nutrition. They really know what to do and how to help injuries. Everyone is so understanding, sweet, and friendly. I recommend them to everyone.

Village Fitness is great!!! I have seen wonderful results by following the healthy habits they teach, and with the small group training. They provide accountability without judgement, they are there to help. The coaches are fabulous.I have also had great results with their virtual physical therapy. Dr. Erik and Dr. Matt do a great job of pin pointing what needs to be worked on and giving exercises help you recover.Village Fitness has done a great job taking everything to a virtual level. I joined Village Fitness in December of 2019 because I wanted to begin the holiday season with a mindset of health instead of my usual “start over in the New Year”. I quickly learned that I had found much more than just a gym or a new approach to fitness, I found a community of professionals and friends who were interested in my health journey and supportive of a more positive way of life. The small group training sessions are fun and the time passes quickly because I’m working and laughing with friends. I haven’t experienced injuries because I get plenty of personal attention from the coaches who make sure I’m doing the exercises correctly. I look forward to my workouts and I feel better and stronger. I also receive nutrition and wellness coaching as well as incredibly positive support from both the VF professionals and the friends I have made there. I’m enjoying better physical and emotional health as a result of joining Village Fitness. I’ve made a worthwhile investment of my time and money toward building a healthier lifestyle and I’ve found a community of friends as well.

I’ll be honest....PE and sports participation have never been activities I’ve enjoyed…since grade school and boot camp. There are reasons, which I won’t go into. I needed to lose weight. I needed to learn to make healthier choices with what I eat. I needed to be taught how to work out and have a plan...a customized one for me! Not for the masses! I needed to have someone to hold me accountable. I read Dr. Matt’s book “Salubrious” in its entirety over a weekend. I devoured it! It resonated with me. I made an appointment with Dr. Matt in early November last year. Sort of ‘here’s what you’ve got to work with’…and older, out of shape, not into ‘fitness’, not so great eating habits person….and this is what I want to accomplish and when’. Am I someone that you’d be willing to take on? Result? After almost 6 months, I’ve lost weight, learned the what’s and how’s to eat, have an outstanding one on one coach (Dan) twice a week. While I haven’t reached my ideal goals, I’m fitter, stronger, and healthier than in mid November. Since mid March, classes continue via Zoom…so most of the weight training is out, for the moment, but I’m still being held accountable and on my way to reaching my goals. GREAT place, Village Fitness! The ‘key’ for me, was finding a place that understood and was supportive of helping me reach my goals! And not a gym selling supplements, vitamins and the like under the guise of ‘health’. You will be pleased with choosing Village Fitness! EVERYONE is supportive!

Village Fitness is not just a gym! It is an amazing community of caring and knowledge professionals that care about your health. They have designed the classes as small group but the instructors really provide one to one coaching since the groups are so small. I’ve trained at the large gyms and never really learned much about health or diet. At Village I have learned about diet (and lost several pounds), about how to manage pain, and exercises for building muscle, better balance and core strength. All of this while building lasting relationships with others in my small group.

My experience at the Village has been excellent. I haven’t had much gym experience so it was great to be immediately welcomed and supported both by the coaches and the other clients. Every coach here is incredibly knowledgeable, always encouraging, and genuinely fun. The workouts are diverse and always challenging but never impossible. I genuinely look forward to my workouts!

I am grateful and excited to be a part of Village Fitness. I began my fitness journey in November of this year. The coaches are first rate and highly trained. Each one takes the time to make sure that you are doing the exercise correctly. Encouragement is offered by the trainers and the other members in the small group fitness session are amazing and really want you to succeed in reaching your goal. When I talk about Village Fitness to other people, I wish I could express the life change that it has brought. I look forward to working out twice a week with our small group and dont worry about if I need to concentrate on certain areas more than other areas because the workouts are planned out in detail to maximize specific muscle groups and cardio evenly. Deciding to work out at Village Fitness was the best decision I made after retiring. My balance is improved; my strength and endurance increased. In addition, my eating choices have improved exponentially! Activities and chores that used to be challenging are no longer. When I first met with Matt I remember sharing, “I’m not sure I can afford to work out at Village.” Now I tell friends, “I can’t afford NOT to work out at Village!” It is a great investment! I was never a person who worked out regularly or felt like I could be, but my views of fitness have changed dramatically since I started working out here. I joined Village Fitness a month ago. I was searching for a place where I can work out and be active. I knew I had to do something for me and my health. I am happy I found this place. I really enjoy the fitness sessions (50 min). This is a place where everyone is very supportive and kind. The coaches are very knowledgeable and attentive. It is a wonderful community to be a part of. They make it very easy to schedule your sessions through an app. The location is also excellent. Everyone is very friendly and supportive. When Dr. Matt asked me what I wanted to get out of Village Fitness, I told him that I wanted to regain my strength back and that I needed to become mentally sharp once again. I used to be very strong and very sharp minded, but after years in my career in IT, my body had become weak and my mind dulled and groggy. I started Village Fitness on July 1, 2019 and by the end of August 2019, I could dead lift 190 lbs and today I feel an overall soundness both physically and mentally. Surprisingly, I lost 20 lbs and 4 inches around my waist… WOW what an awesome benefit!Village Fitness is not like any other gym membership where you go workout without a plan and use whatever machines are available at the moment. Dr. Matt and Dr. Erik are Doctors of Physical Therapy who have designed workouts that maximize the most effective training-forms on the body, and the personal trainers take this physical training science and put it into action. As part of the membership, you get one meeting with Chuck to discuss nutrition and healthy foods that we now include in our grocery list.The only regret I have is I wish I could have joined Village Fitness a lot sooner. Why didn’t anyone tell me about this place? I personally recommend that you try Village Fitness, even if it is for a month to see if it’s a fit for you.

One day it dawned on me that I had an annual subscription to a large gym, but I never went. I realized that I needed some serious accountability if I was going to regularly exercise with my busy schedule. I decided to join Village Fitness and I knew right away that this was the perfect fit. I go consistently and have had some big improvements in my physical health. They also help you form good habits and stick to them throughout the week. When my physical therapy sessions ended, I was unsure whether I had what it took to continue my exercises at home and not overdo it, being that I was recovering from a lot of complications following the birth of my son. Erik suggested massage therapy every two weeks to offset any over exertion.It was exactly what I needed to not only avoid over exerting myself, but also to keep me accountable with my home exercise routine. Keeping my muscles relaxed allowed me to keep up with the physical demands. During the massage therapy sessions, Erik shared valuable insight into nutrition tips, answered health-related questions and also took the time to check in on my home progress and ask questions.Unlike other facilities Ive been to, I really appreciated the fact that they were not out to get paid, but rather to genuinely invest in my healing. I also love their patient, natural holistic approach to healing, rather than using abrasive equipment to get the job done.In addition, when I couldnt find a sitter, the staff was more than accommodating by letting me know it was no problem to bring my baby to avoid the hassle of rescheduling, especially when I was experiencing a lot of discomfort.I cant thank Erik, Renae and the whole team at Village Fitness enough for being there during one of the hardest times in my life and helping me heal and get back on my feet so that I can be the best version of myself for my family. I truly feel like part of a warm and welcoming family with each and every visit. You guys are amazing!

I love Village Fitness because of their small group sessions. From the moment I walked in for my first session, I immediately felt the energy. Friendly, fun, and more importantly, MOTIVATING staff to greet and answer any questions that I may have. I love their small group business model and the requirement for scheduled attendance so there is accountability. Life changing! If you want a place that’s comfortable, personal and fun, look no further. The coaches are all such lovely people but more importantly, highly trained! Most are doctors of Physical Therapy! If other truck tire flipping gyms aren’t your style, Village Fitness is the place for you. I cant say enough about the Village Team! I first started Physical Therapy with Dr. Matt and Dr. Erik for shoulder issues the end of August 2019. As we progressed and I experienced less pain / more mobility, I started working with Fitness Coach Eleisha in October 2019. It is now August 2020 and It has been a wonderful, wholistic journey tackling strength, movement, nutrition, and quality sleep. I have been going to VF for over 2 years. I HATED exercising and have tried traditional gyms and private trainers, knowing I needed to lose weight and build up endurance as I got older. I am so glad I joined VF. The coaches are all amazing and so knowledgeable. Ive been going to Village Fitness 2-3 days a week for about 2 years. Its a great place to start the day. The sessions are always new and motivating. Theres a community feeling. Ive also had physical therapy treatment there and that has been very helpful to repair my torn ACL without surgery. I like that its not just about working out but whole body wellness. They offer a meal plan I can follow and they talk about the why behind our time there.

I told myself once I retired that I would look into this “gym” that was in Glendora. The main reason I wanted to see what they offered is because I had heard they have classes for people over 55, which I am way over 55. It took me a couple of months before I finally got my nerve up to call and set up an appointment. It was definitely one of the best decisions I have made as I try and maneuver through this thing called “retirement.” Even though I have not lost the weight as I thought I should, I know I am stronger, healthier and I feel better.Three things that I “love” about Village Fitness and that they do really well are:1. All the coaches are great! The dedication of the coaches to each and every person who takes the classes is very special.2. I love the fact that each of the classes is kept to a small group (usually 6). By keeping the classes small the coaches can take time with any of the people attending who may need some help with their technique.3. The fact that all the coaches take the time to meet and put together a new program for us each and every month. The people attending the classes know that the coaches are invested in each person as an individual and in helping them reach their goals.

Hands down the best gym Ive been part of. Ive been with them over a year and dropped almost 25 pounds plus gained muscle and endurance with the small class work out groups. The gym is big enough to be well run and full service but small enough where the owner & coaches check in with me personally regularly... they also interact really well during classes, through posted articles, videos and posts to the facebook group as well as regular one on one monthly assessments. So much better than the non-personal corporate gyms out there!

I joined Village physical therapy and Fitness about three months ago it is the first gym that I have gone to that focuses on fitness,nutrition and personal well being. All of the people I have worked with are fantastic. The small group classes are fun and push you beyond what you think you can do. I have also had physical therapy with Erik it is amazing how small movements and body alignment can increase your mobility.I am in my 60’s and my original goal was to just be able to get off the floor without crawling over to something and pulling myself up. I can now get up off the floor independently and am looking forward to hiking in the Sierra’s this summer and Slalom water skiing for the first time in 20 years.Don’t wait to be the best you can be and Village Fitness can help you make it come true.

This place is so awesome. Incredible coaches and small class sizes. They focus on pushing you to your ability while maintaining the correct form that breeds results and keeps injury at bay. I’ve worked out here pregnant, post partum and they’ve accommodated me incredibly well while still helping me reach my goals. The Physical Therapy part of the gym is a perfect compliment to help those that may have existing ailments. Wonderful gym, wonderful people!

I started going to Village Fitness a month ago and I’ve seen a difference in my life. There’s so many good things to say about Village Fitness. The coaches are attentive, motivating and knowledgeable. The other day, there was a member who has pain on his shoulder and the coach was able to tweak the exercises so he would still be able to have a great workout but not aggravate the pain. Another nice thing is that they have physical therapists in house, so if you’re hurt you can get a consultation. On top of this, all the members are very friendly and supportive. There were times when I felt that I couldn’t do it anymore and wanted to stop but there’s always someone (a coach or another member) who’s cheering you on. I love coming here and being part of this positive and encouraging community.

Best place for embracing a healthy lifestyle and absolutely love the process. The staff, the other members, and the facility itself are amazing. They care about every little detail and you can perceive it as soon as you step into the most darling studio. They are competent and knowledgeable in a way that is quite rare in the fitness industry these days. Working out at 5 or 6 am had never been “exciting” until I got in a groove at Village after my first pregnancy. After having my second child, I’ve been going in the evening hours and it’s just as great. Village has helped me recover well postpartum and have the energy to thrive while taking care of my family.

I absolutely love working out at Village Fitness. I’ve been a 3 times/week client for the past 6 months, and its by far the most consistent I’ve ever been with a fitness program. The trainers are enthusiastic, skilled, and empowering, and the other clients are really fun to be around. VF staff value safety first and are quick to modify an exercise for skill level or injury. I’ve been so impressed by their excellent customer service, and genuinely surprised that I actually look forward to my early morning workouts. My better half had been asking me to join her working out for longer than I care to admit. I have always had a perception of big gyms/crossfit and the idea that I could do the same thing on my own. This led to where we are now...its been even longer than I will admit since I actually exercised.Enter the Village. From our very first workout and our meeting with Dr Matt, I realized how different the Village is. I will admit, I have trouble staying focused on goals, much like keeping new years resolutions...for a week or two. The Village sets you up for success from the moment you walk in the door. Its not just go to a gym and lift weights. The program has worked wonderfully for us. Establishing healthy habits, from diet, to movement, to exercise are set out in a way that builds. While its challenging, its also attainable and for us, exactly what we needed.The Village also sets out to build a community. All the coaches have been outstanding.With the small group session it feels as though you have your own personal coach guiding you on the proper way to do the exercises. I feel like we have been welcomed into this community. We are challenged to push ourselves, and supported from everyone in our group sessions.I will say this is the best Ive felt in a very long time. I sought out physical therapy for a nagging glute/low back injury. Dr. Klingler and Dr. Gullen did a terrific job evaluating me and diagnosing a treatment strategy. After several weeks I was able to run pain-free again.In addition to the treatment plan, the doctors also educated me on the causes of the pain, and provided me with the necessary tools to prevent it from reoccurring.I enthusiastically recommend them.

As I walked around my backyard this morning, admiring the beautiful sky and the purple of my morning glory flowers, I found myself feeling very thankful. This is the second morning in a row that I woke up pain free! I didnt want to jinx it yesterday by saying anything to anyone, so I just occasionally thought to myself, my neck doesnt hurt today; my back doesnt hurt today; my hip doesnt hurt today. As I tried to think back to how long its been since this has been true, I started looking through my yearly datebooks. I wrote the meds. I was taking for pain so I wouldnt forget. I also listed physical therapy and doctor visits. I dont think Ive had 2 pain free days since before I needed and received surgery to replace 2 neck discs and fuse 3 vertebrae!My thankfulness is for the Village Fitness and Physical Therapy Glendora team. Ten months ago I contacted the owner, Dr. Matt Klingler for advice about my upcoming hip surgery; I was really nervous about the Surgery and the 6 months of Physical Therapy I was told Id need. I was also told this might not relieve my hip pain. After talking with him, I decided to postpone the surgery and try a very different Physical Therapy, very personalized, that included learning to breathe correctly and eat only the most nutritious foods. My progress has been slow, 10 months now, but I was able to switch to 1-on-1 strength training with Nicole Carlevato Klingler about 4 months ago, in the same location, and am feeling like a new person!!! Im very mindful of the way I move my body now and certainly dont do things I know will cause pain, but feeling pain free makes you see life and everyone and everything in it with new eyes. Once again, feeling very thankful today!

I joined VF over 2 years ago. I can’t recommend a better place to receive true physical and mental training! The groups of trainers and the two owners are very special, educated and patient people. During my time there I experienced an injury (not related to their workout) and Matt Klinger has been flexible with his schedule to give me 1X1 sessions to help get me back on my feet and back to the group sessions. I’ve been working out at VF for over 2 years. This is not your run of the mill fitness club or gym. I don’t know anywhere else where you are bing instructed by men and women with doctorates or masters in physical therapy. They are experts in the human body and monitor you closely to make sure you are using the proper form and getting the maximum benefit.Every workout is structured around 4 movements over 50 minutes: Focus warm up, heart, apex and wind down. They change them up every month to creat muscle confusion and strength. The warm up lasts about 5 minutes. The heart is about 25 minutes of weight and core exercises. The apex is 10 minutes of just what it sounds like: high cardio exercises that will take you to the limit of your capacity. It’s exhausting and exhilarating. It all ends with 5 minutes of winding down and encouragement from the coaches.Every class has a max of 6 students so the coaches can give you personal attention. You get all the attention and benefits of a personal trainer without the price.Im stunned by how much core and muscle strength I’ve gained in 2 years. A 30 second plank about killed me 2 years ago. Today I can hold it for 90 seconds before I start shaking. Im 51 and I’ve never felt healthier in my life. I started at 178 pounds. Today I weigh 195 but my belly hasn’t grown. It’s been mostly muscle.I can’t recommend VF enough. If you’re looking for a life change and not a quick fix, then come check it out. I think you’ll be amazed at helpful it is for you and those you love.

Excellent and very knowledgable staff some of which doctors of physical therapy so they can modify the exercises to anyones ability and limitations. The small group exercise sessions are challenging and they continually change up the exercises so there isnt any chance of becoming complacent. They truly stress family and comradary. Our whole family are members of the Village Fitness family and they have changed our lives for the better. As an example, since joining Village Fitness, our family has collectively lost over 80 pounds and have increased our strength and fitness level. Personally, I was even able to come off my medications for a thyroid condition and high chlorestorol.

Jennifer ( daughter) & I followed Nicole when she & Matt began VF and are so glad we did. Most trainers are Physical therapists / trainers so they know exactly what & how to get the most out of Jennifer. She was born with spina bifida & uses a wheelchair. Creativity & expert knowledge & they have her doing just about everything we do just a different way. As for me I had been taking 3 liquid gel cap Advil’s for my left knee but now my legs are stronger & no need for any unless we have a crazy apex.😊 she & I have 2 one on one sessions a week & I have one regular group at night with my hubby Bob who does 1 other night. Motivated to lose weight & get stronger for all of us but especially me & Jen since I lift Jen the most VF has made that happen. I can’t Say enough about the whole VF, expert advice about nutrition, weight loss ,motivation, always mixing things up to keep it new & challenging & the awesome clients who cheer you on, share meal tips and make you feel like extend family.
