I don’t like dentists, but I like this one! My boyfriend recommended Dr. Mathias to me and after my second visit getting fillings, I can confirm she is professional, kind, and informative. The staff is as well! I had a hygienist hold my hand while they numbed me because she knew I was scared. Such a kind moment I almost cried. I’ve never waited too long of a time to be seen. They really made me feel comfortable each time. Highly recommend!

I have super high dentalphobia. My anxiety level goes off the chart. Someone suggested Dr. Mathias at Healthy Smiles.The whole staff is wonderful. Understanding, very patient and kind. My first visit my anxiety level was through the roof. Each person there had the patience of a saint, and encouraged me. Drs treatment ensured I had no pain. By the 3rd visit, while I did have some anxiety, it was at a much lower level. I highly recommend Healthy Smiles.

I moved to Georgetown almost two years ago (late 2019) and needed a new dentist. I looked up the reviews and saw Dr Mathias/Healthy Smiles had the best. The reviews were spot on. The first dentist Ive come across who doesnt try to push their own opinion of whats best for you. They tell you everything up front and let you choose how to prioritize things. I had a crown that fell out a second time from a previous dentist and Dr. Mathias was very competent and efficient and performed exactly the job that she said needed to be done, in fact she was able to fit the crown better then when it was first put in by the prior dentist. I am very pleased by her work. I was impressed by her staff as well. Overall it was a great experience visiting a dentist.

Dr. Mathias runs an efficient patient-oriented dental practice. Equipment and techniques are designed and used to minimize anxiety and discomfort. Throughout the procedure Dr. Mathias asked me regularly if everything was ok. Before I knew it we were done; composite fillings were replaced and I was on my way.

She was very thorough and explained what she was seeing throughout the visit. Then the dentist came in and was gently and explained what she saw. Made recommendations and I was done. The young lady at checkout was very polite and adorable to boot.. I would HIGHLY recommend this practice.

Superb experience ! Extremely friendly and efficient staff. After recently moving to the area, I needed a dentist quickly after breaking 2 teeth/crowns. Healthy Smiles was able to see me within 24 hours. Dr. Mathias was cautious, very professional, friendly and ensured I was in no pain throughout a 3 1/2 hour comprehensive treatment. Heather took great care in filing the insurance claim right away and represents the practice perfectly with her big smile and helpful attitude. Everyone is upbeat, friendly and accommodating. The whole practice is well automated and efficient. Best dental experience I have had ever ! Highly recommended !!

This office has a very friendly and efficient staff. The receptionist, dental assistant, and dental hygienist all had exceptional customer service and I never experienced any pain during my visit. They also didn’t make me feel uncomfortable about how long ago my last dentist appointment was. I really enjoyed the visit and left feeling taken care of and informed with aftercare. A dentist visit isn’t too scary when you go to healthy smiles!

I moved to Georgetown in late January 2020 and had 2 teeth that became bothersome late February. By March I knew I needed to find a dentist as the pain was keeping me up at night. I asked neighbors for recommendations and reached out to that dentist office to get an appointment. Of course by this time COVID had the US in quarantine. I left messages and emails getting no response from that highly recommended dentist. I found Healthy Smiles by chance and they not only got me right in they helped me get into the Endodontist too. I can not say enough how thorough AND nice everyone is there! Months later they called to check on me during a terrible infection I had in an older root canal. I felt even more confident when I was told my dentist and Endodontist were calling each other on my behalf to ensure I had the best care. So glad the “other” dentist office never returned my messages!! I love Dr. Mathias!!

Were new in town and were somewhat dreading having to find a new dentist. Our next door neighbors spoke highly of Healthy Smiles. Our neighbors said, We are very difficult to please but this dental office has won us over! We locked in our carriers book METLIFE which showed that they were not in METLIFES plan but Heather was able to make it work! She really worked hard on setting us up for an appointment with somewhat complicated treatment plans.When we arrived, we are greeted warmly by Heather and Galley. Galley did our X-rays and explained every step along the way. Lisa, the hygienist, was skilled and personable. Dr Mathias was kind and has an excellent bedside manner.I would highly recommend this team who works cohesively. They are in the Republic Square near the Dollar Tree and across N. Austin Avenue from Zydeco Ice. The office is very clean, each room has a HEPA air purifier to minimize CoVid risk. The staff is conscientious about the CDC guidelines. Have been going here for awhile now. Had an emergency toothache appointment today. Was 15 minutes late for my appointment as maintenance had my car blocked in at home and it delayed me. Walked in and the front receptionist looked at me and said very harshly (with two other customers around) You are 15 minutes late and I have a very busy schedule today. Im not sure if we have time for you now, I have a full office. Have a seat and Ill see what I can do. Receptionist turned back around and proceeded to chat with the customer at her desk. After a few minutes, I stood up and waited for receptionist to return to her desk and when she did I told her just cancel my appointment. Receptionist, with the same attitude as earlier, said I was about to take you back. I simply walked out as I was not about to engage with this type of unprofessional behavior. Who would want someone working in their mouth with an attitude? Seriously? Real shame, because Im sure there is another dentists office that will be more than happy to take my money.

Easily the best dental experience Ive ever had (and Ive had a lot!). They fit me in as an emergency extraction when no one else would take me, which I am so glad it worked this way because this is an exceptional facility. The staff is great, super sweet, gentle and caring, and Dr. Mathias is awesome. The atmosphere is very calming and my insanely bad anxiety wasnt triggered being here. Dr. Mathias and her team are absolutely fantastic! Ive been a patient for a year or so and had been putting off getting a crown until this week. This was my first crown and I was nervous. Dr. and her wonderful assistant put me at ease and did the crown prep and temporary with minimal discomfort. I have issues keeping my jaw open for extended periods of time, but they gave me plenty of breaks and let me relax my TMJ. Unfortunately, my temporary cracked while chewing that evening, but when I called this morning to ask what I should do they were able to get me in same-day to have another temporary made. It barely took any time at all! Im always pleased with the Healthy Smiles Dentistry team, but this week theyve gone above and beyond. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a new dental home!

I’m an an old geezer and I never liked going to the Dentist ....until now !This is how all doctors offices should be run.They give you an appointment time you show up 10 min. early and they are ready for you .No reading last years magazines or watching CNN until you want to throw your shoe at the T.V.All the support staff were like old friends and Doc Sharon was the best....explained exactly what was needed and did it without any pain or mumbo jumbo up sell of other unwanted services.While there I meet a bunch of polite young children and they told me not to be afraid just to remember to brush my teeth while I sing the Happy Birthday song three times ; )

Dr. Mathias was incredibly kind and helpful during my teeth cleaning + whitening treatment. The teeth whitening process they performed gave me visible results within 20 mins and she gave me a 60 day take-home kit as well. Dr. Mathias is very patient, precise and demonstrates great concern for her patients. I had to have four fillings replaced, and the work she did to make sure my bite was correct after the procedure was top-notch. She took great pains to make sure I was completely satisfied. I also went in for a 20-minute whitening procedure and I was very impressed by the results. I had a Zoom whitening in the past, which I think whitened a bit more than the Sinsational that Dr. Mathias offers, but the Sinsational only took 20 minutes, cost much less than the Zoom, and gave me really great results, with no sensitivity--which the Zoom made my teeth sensitive. If I had to do it again, Id forget the Zoom and go with Dr. Mathias treatment. I was with my previous dentist for 20 years before he retired, I hope to be with Dr. Mathias for the next 20 years.

Made an appt to be a new customer, had to reschedule, so I called in the am to reschedule an afternoon appt and was told just call back when you have time and we will try to fit you in I asked to be rescheduled , so I could come by on another date and they wouldnt do it.I also learned if you are a regular customer and have to reschedule an appt within 48 hrs.They will charge you a fee. PRETTY ARROGANT. How is this a sustainable business model? Sounds like the doctors time is more important than the customers time. Glad I found out before I started giving them my money.Response to owner comments: When I called in, I didnt ask for a cancellation, I asked to be rescheduled, and was promptly told just call back when you have time and we will try to fit you in so I said wait you just want me to call back? Answer: yes.. trust me there was no miscommunication that I could tell, just arrogance. So you all gave me a break on the fee for trying to reschedule an appt within 48 hrs of the appt? Really? You mean you actually think youre going to charge someone who has never been to your office some sort of fee? Something is wrong here........

I had a chipped wisdom tooth that was causing a lot of pain. I called and made a appointment they got me in the following day and were able to pull the tooth the same day. My mother never took me to the dentist on a regular basis. The one experience I remember was not pleasant. This bled over into my adult years, making me not want to go at all.
