The Arbor saved my sons life. He had been in and out of rehab for many years. He was never able to stay sober. We found the Arbor and they truly care about the patient and helping them get into recovery. My son has been sober almost 6 years now and I give that credit to the Arbor and their staff. They are people who truly care about their clients. Everyone was so nice there and helped me with my son. I would highly recommend sending your loved one there. The grounds are so beautiful.

Being in active addiction for over a decade, I came to believe that I was truly beyond hope. Arriving at the Arbor in the beginning of 2020, I saw that it was possible to not only live a life, but live a life with all the joy and happiness of someone not shackled by a terrible disease. Thats how the Arbor saved my life. It gave the tools, knowledge and understanding that I needed to stay sober. The staff were there for me in ways I had never experienced from others. They care and it is proven by everyone who experiences their program.

I went to The Arbor in 08/2020 and was there for 30 days. This was my first time in treatment and Im glad this was the gateway to my recovery. The property is very open feild and quite peaceful. The mens house was great and they really focus on the 12 steps as well as fellowship driven. You are occupied with class during the week but get plenty of downtime in between to work on your step work as well as yourself and getting to know your housemates. I hughly recommend to anybody that is seeking help. I will be 1 year sober next month! Thanks Arbor!!!

I was very apprehensive to go to treatment for the first time. After many years of struggles in life I finally decided to ask for help. Upon arriving at The Arbor I was greeted with smiles, respect and compassion. The mens house community took me in like I was a family member. Due to the expertise of the staff at The Arbor, I can gratefully say Ive achieved over a year of sobriety and have regained happiness in my life. The inpatient and outpatient treatment I received taught me about addiction and also taught me how to live an all around healthy life. Thank you for saving my life!

Adult daycare, DISORGANIZED, ALL patients are influenced to do 90 days plus Sober Living - actually coerced - they manipulate loved ones who are not familiar with mental health/substance abuse treatment to convince their loved one to stay and get as much money in as possible - not understanding the damage they cause, treatment is not individualized to each person, recommendations are based on the counselor’s experience in recovery (news flash!!! Nobody cares), per a patient - staff brag about their education or credentials, horrible communication that causes more harm than good, patient’s safety is at risk because “clinical” staff place them with psychotic individuals who have attacked a worker in front of patients - triggering their own symptoms, do NOT recommend!!!! Please, if you want your loved one to be SAFE and allowed to make decisions with their recovery, do not choose this facility. I am sadly disappointed and concerned for my loved one.As I have read in other posts do your research.

When it comes to sharing the experience I had with the Arbor I don’t know where to start. First and foremost the staff from top to bottom are absolutely amazing. Their positivity alongside with the fact that they actually care about the clients really sets the table for an experience that really changed my life. I was shown an easier way of thinking and living through my own hard work and also shown that I was worthy of so much more life has to offer. It doesn’t stop with in-treatment with the arbor. When I finished my 90 day in-patient treatment I furthered my aftercare with IOP and advocacy. There I found the perfect transition to everyday life in recovery. I truly cannot state it enough how incredible the staff is there at the arbor and I will forever be grateful for them and the experience they brought to me.

If you want a military style rehab this may be for you. It’s 12 hour days all planned out. One of the biggest things I have to say against them is They did not let me have a graduation ceremony even though I did finish the program. When I was sick I was told to just throw up in the trash can in the corner of the room. The food was great the chefs were better than the counselors. There was a couple of good techs. The counselors made us rate each other against each other and people were made to feel awful about themselves. I did not like this rehab. It’s the only one I’ve been to and I’m still sober after a year and a half so maybe it helped because I was trapped at a facility for over 100 days away from the outside word. They said if I wanted to leave they would drop me and my stuff outside the gate. I felt trapped. My counsel was awful. She lied to my husband and would not let me have visitors because I wanted to leave. I would not recommend this place. They get two stars because of the chefs and the food and a couple of techs.

If I could give more than 5 stars...I would! The Arbor in Georgetown, Texas has been one of those places that I will never forget. In search for my brother to be at the best rehab facility I discovered The Arbor and after hours of research I believe that this one has it all! When I started my research on rehabs I came across The Arbor and the first person that I was in contact with was the Admissions Manager, Matt Moss. Words cannot explain how wonderful he has been from the first phone call. He assisted in helping us find a place within 8 hours and found a place for my brother to go the next day - even though all the places I had called were full or on a wait list. He went out of his way to help us find a detox location first for my brother to go to and then begin his journey at The Arbor a week later. His assistance and dedication to his job made our family feel much at ease. He answered so many questions I had, took phone calls when he wasn’t working, and constantly responded to any concern or question I had. When it comes to admissions- he definitely does the job in making the entire beginning process of admissions smooth and reassuring. He not only does his own job descriptions, but he has been my go-to employee there and has helped me with other questions or concerns that I had that were outside his duties. He went out of his way to go meet my brother at the detox location before he even entered The Arbor, which says a lot because it simply shows he cares. All in all - his passion for what he does shows tremendously! I cannot thank him enough for being there for me 180% of the time and always made our family feel like we can go to him for anything! Thank you Matt for all you have done for my family, myself and my brother while he is at The Arbor! It doesn’t stop there, there are so many individuals that I have met over the phone in other departments - from the Business department, working with Amanda and Christian, they both have been very understanding and accommodating to our financial needs. Then, there are the counselors, that have been working with my brother since he started in July have been very professional in regards to keeping us in the loop of my brothers journey. David and Erie have been working one-on-one with my brother and from what I can already tell from speaking to my brother - they are working miracles! I can see the results already within my brother and I know his days there are monumental moments. Both counselors have always quickly responded to my thousand of questions and concerns in a quick and proper time frame. Erie, whom is the Men’s Residential Program Manager, planned and hosted a private zoom meeting for my parents and myself within his busy day - he took the time to step aside and make the moment very personalized, which shows how much he cares. His knowledge, experience and passion for what he does is magnificent! My brother has been there a full month, and we are hopeful to find a scholarship or grant to be able to continue his 90 day journey there. Everyone has been trying to help which shows that their entire team at the Arbor cares truly about their clients. Their knowledge, compassion, and commitment shows in all areas of their fields. Their approach of recovery is beautiful and if you look online you can see how they incorporate nature and animals intermixing within the recovery which I think Is an exquisite thing! They also have offered informative family zoom meetings that I have really enjoyed and learned a lot from them. Amy, is the one who hosts and plans the meetings and she as well has been helpful and a good resource for support.I would fully recommend this place if you want to feel at ease and a have a peaceful heart in the place you pick for yourself or any loved one needing or seeking drug/alcohol rehab. Any family or person going through the hardships of addiction should look no further than The Arbor - to me they are the best of the best!

The Arbor saved my husbands life. He was an alcoholic and addict in denial and I was an enabler. When he first entered treatment he resisted all the Arbor staff was doing to help him and he wanted to leave for the first month. But he knew in his heart this was his last chance, that if he left he would most likely drink himself to death. So with the staff supporting me and yes structuring his day, restoring discipline in his life, he learned to love himself again. He learned so much about what he needs to do for himself first so that he can be present for his family and take on daily challenges. Through the family support program I learned so much about the disease and about myself. I will be forever grateful to the Arbor for the 90 days the guided my husband and gave him hope back. We had looked at other programs that were 30 days, but all they were interested in was our insurance. I know in my heart 30 would not have been enough. This isnt an easy program at the Arbor, but neither is the disease. In 3 weeks my husband will celebrate 1 year of sobriety. We will always be a part of the Arbor family!

When I called for intake, the guy was very professional and advised me I would go into detox center off site for a few days before being transported to The Arbor. In the detox center, what I experienced was frightening and unnecessary. They overmedicated me to the point I could barely walk straight and my vision was blurry for about a month. I tried to check out day 3, and they said I couldn’t because I have to be weaned off the meds. I was there a week. I witnessed two ladies older than me who came in after me. After day 1, they were in wheelchairs due to falls. They were obviously overmedicated. The facility was very clean and comfortable otherwise. After discharge, I went to Arbor and it was 4th of July weekend so there was not much going on. The counselors were unprofessional, disorganized and program poorly structured. The house is beautiful and the rooms, bed, and bath comfortable. After I witnessed my main counselor eye-rolling and uncontrolled agitation with an issue during a staff client meeting, I knew I was done. I had difficulty getting out of there due to their controls. I had to arrange for a driver. They sure were willing to pick me up from the airport and again from the detox center and collect my money, but when it came to checking out, I was on my own. They became so rude and cold. They tried to challenge and pressure me to stay. I was not comfortable at all. I felt it was all about the money and while offering the comforts of a lovely home, bed and bath, that is the manipulation. One week for 10k and one counseling session one-on-one, poor food choices, and an amateur staff, I never felt more relieved to get myself out of there and into another more reputable established facility. I arranged for a new facility on the way to the airport, and was able to get a last minute flight using mileage that day. After I completed my stay in the next facility in AZ, I returned home to more bills from the detox facility that The Arbor has some sort of deal or contract established. They cost a total of 10k for 6 nights of overmedicating me and drawing blood while I was deep asleep at night. It really scared me that I was not awake to be consensual. I admitted myself. I was not defiant or court ordered as many were. DO NOT GO HERE! Huge waste of money. Do your research. Make sure you go somewhere that’s not selling you on beautiful setting, amenities and decor. They also exaggerated the gym. It was a joke. I’d rather sleep on a blow up mattress sharing a room with a few and have a well-structure professionally run program. I am a healthcare worker so I can see through the bs. It’s been a few years for me to write this review because I value my anonymity. With this pandemic and the rise in drinking, domestic violence and suicide, I feel it’s important for anyone desperately seeking a safe place to address the issues to know that this place is another scamming rehab that’s all about money.

The Arbor saved and is saving our sons life. We have known about The Arbor for several years and feel extremely blessed for our son to experience this level of compassion and caring. Recovery is a difficult choice for a person with an addiction disease - it is much easier to stay sick than to open ones heart and mind to learn new ways to live and love life. Even for those of us who may not have an addiction disease - change is challenging to embrace. Our son is living again; our son wants to live again. There is a twinkle in his eye and he is learning again that hope truly exists. With the holistic programs at The Arbor, this is a very different experience for our son; he is learning recovery from different perspectives and methodologies. We know that there is something different about The Arbor in a very positive way - staying in treatment is a choice for the person with the disease. Especially when someone is a young adult in our society today, if they choose to stay in treatment to get help, that is a reflection of the program they are involved in and a testament to the healing power of letting go and letting God.The Arbors clients family members are offered continued support activities and interactions to help facilitate healing for all. Our experience with every single person from Administration, Counselors, Therapists and Staff has been welcoming, honest and beyond generous. We encourage those who need help to reach out to The Arbor. As those who are reading this know, addictions can ravage your loved ones life and the lives of those who love the addict. Never give up. Never give up. I know that it is not easy. Have faith and trust in God. He opens new doors when you are at the end of your rope and when you least expect it. Trust God and never give up. One day at at time. . . .

I am a 57 year old adult male who just recently went to the Arbor for rehab. I am writing this review in the hopes that anyone going there will read it before going. Everything in this review is based on my experience, others may have a different opinion. The first thing I would say is when you call the Arbor to talk to someone, that person is a sales person. There job is to do whatever they can to get you to the Arbor. My guess is they receive commission for every new client they bring in. Here are a couple of reasons not to believe what they tell you. These are things that were told to me or other clients before they got to the Arbor.+ You will have a private room and bath, not true, we had 3 people in our tiny room and shared a bathroom with 7 people.+ You will be able to ride the horses during your equine therapy, not true, apparently there is some sort of criteria you can meet after being there quite a while that would make you eligible to ride, the criteria was never explained to us and we never saw anyone ride horses.+ They will not tell you that you must clean your room every morning, and it is usually inspected twice a day.+ They do not tell you that you will clean the house 4 times a week.+ They do not tell you that you clean the kitchen after every meal.+ They told me we could watch TV every night, not true, you can only watch it on weekends when you are not in sessions.+ They will tell you how beautiful it is and that it is on the San Gabriel River. True it is on the San Gabriel River but we did not actually get to see the river till I had been there for a month.+ They will talk about how it is a multi-faceted approach to which includes therapy. This is true, but be aware, you will see a therapist once a week for an hour. It is tough to get through many issues with 12 total visits with your therapist.+ They will tell you no cell phones or laptops, I recommend you dont have them, but this is negotiable. Some business owners were allowed to have access at times to their phones and laptops.+ They told me there were no scholarships but while I was there someone got one.My point is to ask lots of questions. Some other things of note is that the Arbor states it is a 90 day program. In my opinion it is a 12 step immersion program and they want you to take 90 days working the steps. They try to draw the steps out so that you dont finish before then, but most people should be able to finish in 5-6 weeks if they work at it. Another note, anyone that you list as contact people will be called by your counselor. This is very important to know, first of all they will call those people and tell them that they recommend that after the 90 days that you go to their extended care program and then to sober living. Also if you try to leave before 90 days, they will call everyone on your list and have them pressure you to stay. They will use a lot of scare tactics if you try to leave before 90 days. A lot of the clinical staff are younger and most that I saw were recovering addicts, not alcoholics. One last note, the environment and your time are very structured and there are a lot!!! of rules, but the rules dont seem to be applied fairly to all and there is very little communication between the staff, one staff member will say one thing, then another staff member will have a different rule. There are a lot of other things Im sure that I am missing. As a final note, the Arbor does have a nice facility, the Chef in the kitchen is very good and he tries to accommodate the clients as much as possible. I think the Arbor was a great place for me to work through the 12 steps. I think a lot of the staff there do care about the clients. As with any facility its what you put into it and even more important, what you do when you leave. This was again written so that future clients are aware and can make sure they are selecting the right place for them. It is not to disparage the Arbor. In the end, if you stay sober thats what counts.

My 19 year old son went to the Arbor, and I felt his treatment and the family program were better than any Id found in the area. But be aware, when sending a loved one, especially a young adult, with dual diagnosis, I was told he would receive EMDR therapy while inpatient. He did not. I was then told he would have the same therapist throughout the continuum of care, He did not. When I was told not to contact my son, I agreed, with the caveat they would be checking on him every 30 minutes. They did not. He is, thank God, still sober today, but he walked away from extended care, while supposedly under watch, and they did not know or inform me until 12 1/2 hours after he left. My son has epilepsy and a heart condition. I trusted. I should never have stopped talking to my son. I am very grateful for the inpatient care he received, but the extended care was not worth the $5,000 a month I paid for it. While in iop, the patients do not have enough to occupy them each day, and I could have had someone with him every minute, those months, and had him in an iop, for the same money. I highly recommend the inpatient, but strongly recommend against looking to extended care or their continuum after, simply because they did not deliver what they told me they would.

Warning others about very dishonest practices by The Arbor. Our loved one is sober in spite of, not because of, the Arbor. If youre thinking about going here, heres what you wont be told:1. Client is told they commit to 30 days, then realizes theyre there for 90 days. This is deceptive. If The Arbor gets their way, the client goes to their expensive Extended Care and Sober Living for about a year. I think this is to inflate success rates.2. We got many false reports about her doing badly when she wasnt. Nothing was ever good enough. Conflicting reports were common too.3. Extended care = HUGE EXPENSIVE WASTE OF TIME. Beautiful houses but no level of care justifies the expense. Extensions are common and staff pressures you by saying your loved one will relapse. Our loved one had no treatment history. Maybe this is a good setting for those who have been in and out for years.Three girls got two-week extensions which of course families paid. One girl asked repeatedly to call her own family because she was worried about the money, and was denied this opportunity. Another did something much worse to deserve the consequence, called her dad without permission, and all got the same punishment. Arbors staff will prey on your panic and your pocketbook.Extended Care was full of bulimics and my loved one did not feel safe there. Many of these women had severe mental illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder. One young lady lost 10 pounds in two weeks. This is not an environment where people heal.4. If your kid or loved one needs medical monitoring, understand staff will not believe their medical complaints. Doesnt seem to matter if its obvious. Of course clients cant call for their own care. Addicts are seen as liars and manipulators, even though they get sick as often as normal people.5. Website brags about Masters Level therapists. This is true, but the people involved in day-to-day care rarely even have Bachelors degrees. Some techs are 21 year olds whose only credential is some training and a drug history.6. This is a faith-based program. The evidence-based practices are limited, over-advertised, and under-used. Dr. S is good but clients reported meeting him for the first time in Family Program. His staff is not nearly as informed as he is. They believe in the Big Book over science.7.HIPPA issues. Staff gossip, even with people from other treatment centers. Meds served in common areas. One young man was mocked for expressing concerns about his privacy. They make an effort, but not in a way I would get away with in my hospital (Im an RN). He overheard a tech call another client Crazy, as in Im taking Crazy down to the barn.8. Clients who complain are called entitled and criticized for lack of gratitude. If you pay $50-80k for treatment, you are entitled to certain things.9. Tough love kills. Families stop listening to their addicted loved ones on the advice of staff. Family Program is an exercise in Mass PTSD. This program essentially runs on fear. Thats not what recovery should be about.10. The young man who was concerned about his privacy said there was abuse in his family and he was pressured to sign a Release of Information. Thats unacceptable. An extended care staff member forced one young lady to sign that she had refused medication when in fact it was never dispensed. Thats unethical. This woman no longer works in that house, but that seems to be normal. High turnover rates are an issue in lots of healthcare settings, but especially addiction medicine. That said, Dr. Ss education was high quality. Many of the people there genuinely care about the clients. Some of these complaints may just be treatment industry problems. If you or your loved one have a Dual Diagnosis, look into evidence-based options. Clients arent truly monitored 24/7. Hold these treatment centers accountable to their advertising.

I can go on and on, but it’d take up way too much time to go through all the things that the arbor has done for me. I highly recommend this facility to anyone, they saved my life. Thanks again!!
