The staff at GFD are exceptional! My 3 pre-school age children are terrified of the dentist but Emily, Dr. Drake + the entire staff were so patient and made their experience fun as well as age appropriate! (They got to shoot Dr. Drake with water guns!) My kids also loved the fun colored scrubs they were wearing as opposed to the usual all black + they are excited for their next cleaning!You have to choose them for your dental care!!

I personally love Dr. Hart and the entire staff at Gaston Family Denistry. They are prompt, Professional and courteous, they make you exceptionally welcome and warm. I can’t explain how great this staff is! I literally have dreaded going to the dentist my entire life. However this dentist & his assistants make me feel at ease & comfortable. If I could give 100 stars I would. I am a RN so I recognize great healthcare & customer service. Shannon at the front desk is very helpful and is patient with all my 99 questions & request. Dr. Drake is amazing. He is kind, takes time to answer all of your questions, gentle, and has a very calming demeanor. Dr. Hill was very caring and professional throughout the whole procedure. I was very anxious about getting a baby tooth pulled at 31yrs old! I trusted the staff, and their kind sweet words helped me through a very scary experience. I no longer fear going to the dentist to have “big work” done.Even after a few months and a few times sanding down the permanent bridge for the right fit and everything, my mouth has never looked or felt better! Dr. Hill wasn’t able to do the final cement, but he assured me the doctor that was doing it was also very kind and could finish my bridge no problem.So big shout out and thanks to Dr. Drake for stepping in last minute, I really appreciated you helping out. Casey, Emily, Dr. Hart, and the entire front desk staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming and I would recommend this practice to anyone!

First off,, Id been a patient here for a few years. Went in to have a tooth fixed was suggested to get a crown. That did not solve my issue. Had to go back 3 days later after excruciating pain. Was told, well, lets try a root canal, I thought that at first anyway, he said. So ended up paying for a service that had to be undone. Calling trying to discuss my bill for over 3 months. Been getting that they are busy and I can leave a message, but as soon as I hang up I get a text asking me why I am contacting them. I dont want to talk with a business through text. Very unprofessional. No response either way. Then had to wait another month or so because they had a fire and were extremely busy trying to get back in their building. Called this week and for the first time spoke with someone who was overjolly to be working in a dentist office. When I asked her my question, she suddenly would have to call me back. That was 4 days ago. Called and asked for the office manager. Youd thought Id called and asked for Joe Biden! Conveniently they will get back to me. My next step, BBB. If they want a payment, I need an explanation for my charges. Had recommended several family and friends, but have since told them dont go there.

The folks at this practice are the best and they stay current with the latest cutting edge procedures. The only thing keeping my score from 5 is the fact that I continue to get there on time and still wait 30 or more minutes before I actually get seen. But I still recommend them to all my family and friends.

They have huge and calming landscape photos throughout and the people working with you are just as lovely. Me and my son have been coming here for a few years and my son is always sooo excited to go to the dentist (hes 7 and jumps for joy to get his teeth cleaned) and today my 2 year old got to tag along for her first cleaning and she wasnt thrilled but all the staff were so patient with her. I love how easily they schedule me and my family to all come in together. Theyre all so sweet and understanding and honest. I couldnt love this place more! They really take care of me and my kids when we come and dont make me feel like a burden when I have my kids with me and offer to keep them entertained when its not their job to do so, they really go above and beyond for us and Im so appreciative of them!!

Great family oriented dentist office. Dr. Hill is amazing and makes each visit a pleasure. I learn so much about my teeth and how to properly care for them daily. The staff here is amazing and so caring. I have had poor experiences in the past at previous dentist offices, even to the point Dr. Hill had to complete work on my mouth from a sub par dentist where I was constantly in pain. If you want the best of the best look no further. If you love white teeth also ask about the whitening trays they are awesome and well worth it for a white and beautiful smile.

Dealing with having dental work done especially major work is typically something I’d like to avoid.Dr. Briggs made me feel comfortable and at ease. She’s realistic and honest but truly wants to help. My dental assistants and administrative staff also go above and beyond and truly know what good customer service is.

I’m a new patient to this office and I must say I already think I’m going to enjoy this one! Everyone here is so kind and helpful! My first experience, the dental assistant who took me for my xrays was so kind! Then today I had a wisdom tooth extraction done by Dr Drake and he was extremely gentle and comforting, he put my mind at ease. His assistant was also great, very informative and helpful! Today, I had my yearly dental cleaning at Gastonia Family Dentistry. My dental hygienist was Amy, and my dentist was Dr. Hill. The atmosphere was comfortable, clean and welcoming. Amy was friendly, knowledgeable and mindful when using the dental tools to clean my teeth. Dr. Hill is my favorite dentist by far - personable, detailed, cutting edge in his work and able to pick up on dental problems that other dentists would not see. To top it off, the services are affordable. Thanks again!

This is the laziest most unprofessional dentist office I have ever been to and will never return.In short, I went for a general cleaning. They took xrays of my teeth and that was the only service they provided. I am in my mid 40s and have excellent teeth and gums and have never had a cavity in my life. Instead of performing the general cleaning I went for, they told me I needed a deep clean/periodontal cleaning at an additional charge and that a general cleaning could not be done. I really feel they were being greedy by trying to convince me I needed additional work done when I know I did not so they could get more money. It was a wasted visit for me which they got paid for through insurance for doing nothing but taking xrays when I wanted a general cleaning.In writing this review, it has been over a year now since this visit and my gums and teeth are still healthy and cavity free. Im glad I have enough sense to know when a business is trying to hustle me. Shame on these dentists and I encourage anyone to go somewhere else!

Everyone from the receptionist to the hygienist to the dentist and then to the claims specialist---from front door to back and to a person---no one was anything but positive, warm, and welcoming. The entire practice was filled with a level of kindness that instantly made me feel comfortable, which is never exactly my default gear at a dentists office, lets just say, especially when Im hurting and I was..And despite the fact that I left knowing Id need a root canal, I was nevertheless in good spirits when I crossed through the Exit.So, take that as you will. I came to the practice because of excellent friend to friend to friend recommendations. Those too speak volumes.

It may sound strange to say its always a pleasure after visiting a dentist office but GFD always provides my wife and I with great care. The staff are very friendly and courteous and always make sure we dont leave without being 100% satisfied, for our care and if we have questions.

Completed paper work online before going. They didn’t have it. After spending over 2 hours there, they took me out of exam room to meet with insurance person - still no cleaning. Ended up leaving and cancelling appointments for me family before even hearing insurance information. Prior to making appointment, no one told me what to expect. I didn’t know I needed to take half a day off. Very frustrating.

I have never had such a pleasant and pain free experience at dentist in my entire life. Dr. Hill and his staff go above and beyond for their patients. From letting me choose what jams I want to listen to, to the ultra light hand of Bryan. Casey who was the assistant helping out was a complete doll who did everything she could to make me comfortable. She made me feel like a person instead of just another appointment for the office. I received what felt like VIP service and treatment! From the front desk staff (Laurie), the hygienist (Jennifer), the assistants (Hannah and Karly) to Dr. Hill and Dr. Drake. They all walked me through the steps of my visit and answered all my questions. The whole office followed strict safety protocols for Covid-19 which made me feel safe and comfortable. The practice is modern and uses up to date technology to help diagnose and treat patients including a 360° x-ray of your mouth! I’m looking forward to my next regular check up!

Third time of canceling my appointment and having to reschedule. They call a day before. The third cancellation, they didnt call and said they did. Front desk staff unprofessional. They cant figure out why I am mad. No apologies. I see the new dentist for five minutes. The first I met the new dentist, he didnt introduce himself. I didnt know my regular dentist moved. Unprofessional. You are just a number there.

This is a great dentist office. All new technology without paying a premium price. They honor my dental insurance. My hygienist is quick, thorough, and makes sure I am comfortable. That is also important if you have children. The dentist is also personable. He tells you how your teeth are and gives you options. I wont be leaving!

I was a patient of the clinic until they had a fire and I didnt get the support I received on my other visits. I came to see Dr Drake about a crown he put in. I told him it hurt to chew on it and it has been very uncomfortable. He checked the xrays and said it looked good he couldnt see anything wrong. I finished up and left. I was eating yogurt and the crown broke off!!! Ive been in pain, contacted the on call and no one seems to care. I paid my bill In full and I cant get help. Dr. Hill is AMAZING!!! I had a crown on my front tooth for 5 years that didn’t match the rest of my teeth, and I was told that it was as close as it could get. But with custom color matching, Dr. Hill matched my teeth PERFECTLY! It looks better than I ever could’ve imagined. So thankful for my new smile. ❤️

In town for work and had a crown break at dinner last night. Called the office at 700 am today and they had me in by 800 am for a consultation and an appointment same day for 1100 am for a new crown. Super patient helpful staff. Dentist was amazing. Quality work at the standard cost. These folks saved me from a lot of suffering. If you are local make this practice your go to dentist. If your out of town they can help you in a pinch and take most insurances.

I really loved this dentist but after being Rescheduled last time for two months after my original appointment which I was understanding about, They called me to reschedule my appointment two days before I was supposed to go in , canceling my appointment again and wanted to reschedule two months out from the second schedule appointment. I feel like this is very bad customer service it’s now been two months since my original appointment and will be another two months if I accepted the appointment I was given. four months in total from my original appointment. They should figure out how to work people in that they cancel on In a more realistic timeframe. I have referred so many people to this practice now to realize that they don’t keep up their customers care appropriately. Sadly I guess it’s time to move on to find a dentist who is more reliable.

This clinic is such a rip off. I am never going again, and wont recommend it to anyone. Services were fine, though I never did anything special besides regular two times a year cleaning and x rays (may be for the best, based on other peoples reviews here). It is frustrating when you have to deal with professionals that misinform you on your insurance benefits to lure you into more expensive procedures, just to call you 6 months later to tell you your claim has been denied, misinforming you even more. Im glad I havent gone into the treatment plan recommended (with crown and filling) that same day I was the for the routine check up. After I received a phone call few days ago that my claim from last year has been denied and I actually owe the money, insurance administrator continued to deny responsibility, despite my having a document from the dates in question with her name on it.That is especially heartbreaking to deal with all this now when people are struggling with the consequences of the pandemic. My entire family has been going to this clinic for several years, but now certainly have to find a better to place to go. So done with this....Any recommendation for a good dentistry clinic in Charlotte?P.S. Never had a chance to meet Dr. Pope, but Ive heard he is a great doctor, so sad he has left.

My first experience with this dentist was great; Dr. Hill was professional and thorough while staying light hearted and humorous throughout my visit. I am relatively new to Charlotte and will be coming back regularly for my dental work.

They were friendly, quick, and efficient. The longest part of getting a filling was waiting to get numbed. Once they started the process it was so fast! You can tell they work really well together. I appreciated they let me know what they were going to do before they did it and explained why they were doing what they did.
