The Doctor, nurses & respiratory therapist were all amazing! They were kind, concerned & attentive. I could not have asked for better care. However, their security guard is rude & their no visitor policy needs to be changed. If we can attend school, church, concerts & football games, we should be allowed one family member at our bedside.

They get 1 star because I can’t give 00000We have used this place twice. First time my daughter totaled her car in an accident and I wanted to make sure she was ok and they performed an X-ray on her wrist. She was bruised from shoulder to thighs from seatbelt and air bags. After 2 hours with no other care and still no wrist results we left. I was worried about her internal organs. Not her wrist.2nd time my other daughter had a concussion and was vomiting non stop. I thought they were at least capable of giving iv fluids. She sat in the waiting room for hours freezing, vomiting, tired and a headache. The nurse told her she “wasn’t going to touch her vomited blanket and to carry to the back herself”. She’s very thin and received no fluids for dehydration. They gave her a shot for nausea, IN THE WAITING ROOM!! charged me $100 and sent her home.

UAB finest Care facility. Parking lot was well lighted and plenty of parking. Security at the front door was very nice and helpful. Triage nurse was very nice and thorough. The doctor came in and explained treatment plan and had a pleasant bedside manner. All employees in the E.R. was very helpful.

Awful. They had problems drawing blood the second time (they said the first blood results came back “weird”). They stuck me multiple times in each arm, knowing that I was anxious and nauseous. I asked them if they could give me something for anxiety during their 4th or 5th attempt at getting blood. They said no. I asked if I can take a break before they try again. They said no.Sukhshant Atti, the ER doctor gave me a lecture about going to the urgent care for, you know, something urgent. According to her, the doctors at Fultondale Urgent Care are fake and I shouldn’t follow their medical advice ! Wow. I wouldn’t recommend Dr Atti to my worst enemy. Just condescending and rude. Terrible.Please avoid. Go somewhere else if you can.

Our experience was incredible. We had no wait, my husband was examined and treated promptly. All of the staff we encountered were experienced, kind, thorough, and worked well together as a team. We particularly loved his nurse, Julie. We were extremely glad we chose a little bit of a drive, in order to be seen quickly at a facility with such high quality.

It was easy to get into and not a long wait. They took very good care of me and found out what the problems were.

Jonathan Borella CRNP is extremely rude and dismissive. refused to do imaging on my daughter, went to childrens ER and she was admitted to .hospital . This man does not listen to women/children and should NOT be working in ED

I have been here 3 times, twice for my toddler and once for myself and I’ve had nothing but good experiences. Everyone has been so kind and thorough. I’m thankful to have an ER so close by.

Worse service everI arrived at 11:30am due to having numbing, tingling and no feeling in my right side.. I was in the waiting room to 4:00pm not being seen by anyone.. I asked the nurse in the front. She stated that there weren’t any rooms available… people came after me were seen and left… I was literally put last on the list…

If it wasn’t for the staff and the inability to give zero stars that’s what they would have!!! The triage nurse and the nurse when I went to my room were AWESOME!! However, I feel like the doctor completely disregarded me. The primary reason I was there was ignored. Even after being discharged the literature he gave was on something other the my primary symptom. I was pretty much given a shot of pain meds and immediately sent home. If it wasn’t for my nurse waiting to make sure the pain meds I was given wore off some and I wasn’t “loopy”. I would’ve been on the road under the influence of opioids that he literally just gave me… smh… THE DOCTOR JUST DIDN’T SEEM TO CARE AT ALL!!!!

I came here Saturday afternoon due to extreme difficulty with breathing caused by COVID. There was no wait time and plenty of open beds. Everyone I interacted with from security, nurses, techs, and Dr. Wallace were some of the absolute sweetest people I’ve ever encountered within the healthcare environment. This was my first time ever going into an ER and I was extremely anxious already. They listened to everything that I had to say, answered all of my questions, and explained everything to me thoroughly. To say that they went above and beyond to take care of me would be an understatement. Terrific bedside manner and everyone was so down to Earth. I was recommended to go here by several friends and coworkers and I’m so glad that I did. I feel like these people saved my life and I can’t thank them enough.

Avoid this place.Do your self a favor and go to a real hospital.I went here for severe pain.I was given a test unrelated to my condition.And then told that they could not administer pain medication.I was told to take a over the counter anti inflammatory .So I went to a real emergency room and was treated for my condition, appropriately.This visit cost me over $2000.00 and for nothing.

This hospital has missed bone breaks two different times.Please avoid if you suspect you have broken a bone.

The best experience I have ever had in an ER. No wait! Triage, nurse screening, seen doc, cat scan, seen doctor again and out the door in an hour and a half. Very professional doctor and staff!

Doctor refuses to sign so that my son can go back to school even tho negative results

If you are looking for the worse care possible this might be the ER for you. I have had more than 1 terrible experiences in the ER. 2 of them interactions I had to come back more than once and both times I was hospitalized and emergency surgery. That is after complaining not receiving treatment the 1st ER visit. I even called and complained to UAB patient advocate they deemed that I received the appropriate treatment. Which I completely disagree if I ended up at the main hospital and having emergency surgery done. I wish something would be done about the kind of care and customer service here.

Everyone from the security guard to the nurses to the doctor was very professional and thorough. I would even say they went above and beyond what I expected. The nurses and doctor listened to my explanation very carefully, asked thoughtful question, performed reasonable tests and gave me a diagnosis I have total confidence in. This is a real, professional emergency room, not a fly-by-night doc-in-a-box. I do not WANT to go back, mind you, but it is good to know they are there.

Horrible security guard, rude nurses, incompetent staff. When I was finally allowed to talk to a doctor I felt better. Im still requesting to speam to the office manager for the poor handling of my mothers visit.

They only got one star because I can’t put zero. I went in there for a spider bite on my face close to my lip that’s possibly a brown recluse bite. They gave me no antibiotics because they said it would have to be infected before giving any medicine. No preventative or nothing. So basically when your face is rotting off come back and will give you antibiotics.. And there was no patient care I felt like they treated me like I’m crazy. 0/10 Would not recommend.

Awesome from the time I entered the emergency room. Foot fracture. Checked my vitals and got to my room. Nurse was prompt, X-rays within minutes, Doctor in 15 minutes with diagnoses. Both nurses great. WTG UAB Gardendale!

This is the ONLY ER I will come to. I have come here several times; so have several family members and friends and none of us have had a bad experience yet.The doctors, nurses and support staff are all amazing. The are professional, caring and quick with a smile, helping hand a d even fast wit.

Worst experience EVER! My Sister went in with her ear hurting so bad she was in tears! They took 4 hours to see her and when they finally did they said Yep its an ear infection. They provided her prescription ear drops (nothing for pain), not even ibuprofen or Tylenol then sent her on her way. Today its hurting worse and she is completely in tears (not an easy feat for her). Go to a different Dr and she has a 102 degree fever, an ear infection, plus! This time, by a competent Dr she was prescribed an antibiotic shot, Steroid Shot, oral antibiotics, pain medication (due to the severity), and the PROPER EAR DROPS! You are better off going to a veterinarian than come here, at least there, you have a reason to be treated like an animal.

Clean with a nice staff!

We were advised by a doctor that symptoms daughter had were worse than a concussion and she needed to be seen. Went to the ER and they literally only looked in her ears. No scans, no tests, didnt even touch the area of head that was injured and said it was just bruised and sent her home with 4 pain pills. St. Vincents ER did a CT Scan and diagnosed a concussion with 4 days of bedrest needed. Absolute worst experience! We will never be back. Getting in and out quick doesnt mean the service will be good.

I had to go at 11 at night I was in and out in under than an 2 hours had everything explained to me and was very well taken care of

If you are seeking care, this is not the place to go. I recommend that you do everything within your power to not come to this facility. If you are presented with Nurse Practitioner Jonathon Borella, for your own well being, leave immediately. Borella is extremely unprofessional, condescending, and frankly should have his license revoked. I can not express in words how unfit for employment Borella is. If you value your health, do not seek care from Johnathon Borella and avoid this facility.

The entire staff was caring and compassionate. They showed more concern about my family members heath than simply collecting the co pay. They got us in quickly and eased our minds during our stay.

If I could give 0 stars, I most defiantly would. Gave me a muscle relaxer and sent me on my way. Did a urinalysis and no other test. No CT, blood work...etc. I ended up having to go to another ER and found out that I have a kidney stone. I would recommend going to another ER.

The worst. You maybe get to see the doctor a total of 5 mins and your reason for being there is non important.

I would have liked to give them 5 stars because of hearing such great things about them. Some of the nurses were RUDE! My mom was in so much pain, crying and upset and they were just making comments/looks that were uncalled for. I had to really bite my tongue to not say anything- it hurt to see how they were doing her. Oh and the lady at the counter RUDE- Making it known my mom had a copay and how much it was and she needed to pay before “running out the door” (my mom was in a wheelchair) -she didn’t even have a chance to get her wallet from me yet- overall not the best experience.

I give 2 stars because 2 who have seen me in the past treat me with respect.Dr. Willie Gilford and his staff wanted me just out. They kept telling me things straight to my face that I knew were false, because of past treatments. Like I told my primary the time before this time I saw Dr. Gilford, it is set in stone this time. I wont be going to the ER unless I am half dead. He acts like his time is being wasted with you from the moment he walks in. Then they wonder why patients get so upset. Also, he told me and wrote on discharge papers one thing, and I spoke to my specialists on call the next day to find out he falsified documents. So, if I had found a ride to Birmingham AGAIN the next morning it would have been another waste of a trip over an hour drive. I suggest if he says his name is Dr. Gilford just get out of there and go somewhere else. The charge nurse said You are not bleeding out or have COVID, so it isnt an emergency. I questioned him on this statement and he accused me of putting words in his mouth. At this point I was already beyond mad, because nobody could be truthful. So, if it is Dr. Gilford leave. Unless he sees you half dead then he may help you, but even then I dont know if I would trust.Looks like Dr. Gilford cant take truthful reviews of him and has to go about destroying patients lives with other providers. He doesnt need to be in any leadership position of his kind if he cant take reviews from patient experience with him. He is teaching employees to falsify documents on patients. I have visual proof of it all.

If you have an absolute TRUE medical emergency that needs direct immediate attention in a professional manner, with timely variables that are put into consideration from the staff, regarding patients...I HOPE YOU HAVE TIME TO GET HERE, before you get worse.

I came in throwing up nothing but blood. They gave me zofran and protonic and sent me on my way an hour later. I didnt make it out of the parking lot without throwing up more blood. Now Im at St. Vincents East for the third night in a row, getting a blood transfusion because they were only worried about getting me in and out. If youre REALLY sick, go elsewhere.

Joke of a hospital

Fiance went in last night with chest pains and high BP 177/114 They didnt do a thing he was back out in 30 minutes no tests nothing!!! Was told if it got to 200 come back!! I wouldnt take my dog to see them!!! If something happens we will seek out an attorney!!

I go there 2 times they do the same C T scan w/contrast both times I have a rare syndrome and that contrast is not good for my kidneys .They should know this because Ive told them twice And my head was hurting when I was there last and it is still hurting.And by me having insurance they do expensive tests that are not necessary .I wish I could give zero stars.As of today I have the same issue as what I went to them with and get a very very high bill .That they want me to pay.And after a hour waiting after the not necessary test I had to ask the cleaning lady to get a doctor to let me go .Because they forgot I was there .Incompetent Staff
