I went yesterday for the first time. Was welcomed by a friendly face who told me they could see me an hour later. I showed up 50 minutes later and was taken back to exam room shortly after. I saw a very competent provider. Was given two shots and a prescription. Feeling better today. Very happy with my visit.

I was having a serious pain that was making it very difficult to walk. I know what the problem is, and I know what med is needed to relieve it. And I went here seeking medical help for my urgent need. Yet I was turned away at the front counter with nothing more than, Shes not seeing urgent care patients today. Thats it. No other explanation. Dont come here if you are in need of urgent care. Go to AFC or UAB at Gardendale. I cant believe I couldnt be given ten minutes to get my shot and be on my way in relief.

Disappointed in patient care. I was told I needed to have a negative Covid test to be seen by a doctor. I had the test and was told I would be given results in 45 minutes. I had to call them to receive results after hearing nothing for over 2 hours. After being given a negative test result, they still didn’t schedule me to see a doctor, so nothing accomplished.

Staff was nice and the np had me in and out in no time even though I had to sign in and come back ...I want to explain something to you folks I know it can be stressful to have to be patient and wait for long periods of time and I understand the receptionist can come across as being rude they are extremely busy and probably overworked and burned out as well just be patient and don’t get your breaches in a wad if they ask you to sign in and come back later.

They wouldnt see me without a negative Covid19 test and are the only Urgent care to claim this. Additionally, the results take about 3 days to come back and THEN I could come see about my issue.. SO I guess you would have to wait to address your illness or get sick enough to go to the ER instead, which is what she told me to do, wait or go to the ER. What a waste of a business. No wonder every other Urgent care is packed and they have no-one in their waiting room. The clerk told me that if they treat me for something and I have Covid then I could be really harmed. What a crock of BS! You treat ill patients, not 3 days later! Ive Been a nurse 30 years and clearly she is very misinformed . As a Veteran trying to use my urgent care benefit, this is unacceptable and I will write a letter to the VA . They dont need to be on their list of approved providers any longer.

I have been there two times both times they diagnosed me without any blood work or urine test saying there was a stomach bug going around this time I told them my right lower side was hurting.they said probably from excessive vomiting gave me scripts for a stomach bug and said go to the ER in a few days if it did not get better two and a half days later I am in the ER with appendicitis with infection.two times no test just a assumption now I am sitting at home wit a drain tube in my stomach for a week

We came in for COVID testing and signed in. The lady at the front desk took identification, insurance cards, and a debit card and told us to go back to the car to wait to be called. Three hours later and we still were waiting outside in our car. Why would any doctor’s office need to hold your debit card three hours? Why would they not tell us it’s a 3 or more hour wait? The basically hold you hostage because where can you go without your Driver’s License and debit card? Communication was nonexistent. You’re just basically sitting in your car wasting a whole tank of gas. We should have went somewhere else.

So, 5 weeks ago I was given a prescription eye drop for infection here. A week later the infection worsened. On return, they injected me with steroid shot and changed to a steroid eye drop along with a different antibiotic eye drop and instructions to visit an eye doctor if problem persists. Unfortunately had to see eye doctor this week due to problem continuing. Dr. Day asked my treatment to this point and responded that both PAs, Madelaine Lott and Jessie Coffey administered the exact same treatment that he would have treated me with, and he is an eye specialist. It appears I have allergies to these antibiotic eye drops, but KUDOS to both PAs at Gardendale Urgent Care for being spot on with their diagnosis and treatment plans! Thanks for being in Gardendale too, and available on Sunday mornings.

They require you to put a credit/debit card on file so that any remaining balance after insurance can be paid immediately without notice if its under $50.When I asked reception if I would get any sort of notice, she said Your EOB is your notice.Sometimes my EOB doesnt come in for over a month.Very bad for business. What if it comes through on a day that I dont have $49.99 in my account, and you run it and make me overdraft? Also, they wont see you if you dont sign it unless you pay over $100 to see the doctor.Just very bad and uncalled for for business.I understand the reasoning behind it, but they make medical billing for a reason. This was my last visit.

My daughter was diagnosed with strep throat by her pediatrician earlier today. Shes been running fever and saying her throat and head hurts. My throat and head started hurting so I took an amoxicillin prescribed to me a while back from my dentist. I was trying not to have to go to the doctor and get my sick 5 year old daughter out of the house again. My husband is a pilot so I didnt have any choice but to take her with me to the doctor because I was feeling so bad and thought they could give me a shot. I get to this urgent care and the doctor chastised me for taking the amoxicillin saying that they couldnt test me for strep now and I put them in a predicament because I took an ANTIBIOTIC!!?!!?!!? He said now weve got to just treat you for it. Hello?! It doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out that Ive got strep throat too! My throat and head are killing me! By the way he ended up giving me AMOXICILLIN! I wont ever be back to them again!!!!! Here I am trying to be a good mom and I get chastised for taking a stupid antibiotic!

The nurse practitioner at this place is TERRIBLE! Has mis-diagnosed so many people with even the most basic of things. Earaches, walking pneumonia, sinus infections. Told them it was nothing - there was nothing wrong...?? She told a friend of mine that the back pain she was experiencing was because she needed to have a bowel movement. She didnt! Mesh from a bladder tacking had attached to her back and other internal organs!! Dont use this place and if you do - dont allow this quack to examine you!

It was an awful experience! I waited for two hours in the waiting room and I was there before opening hours. The medical assistant had to have been on meth! She had sores all over her arms and face and had nasty hands as if she had been digging in the dirt! Her hair looked like she hadn’t brushed it in weeks. She didn’t even get any of my vitals! Just very unprofessional and disappointing. The doctor was cockeyed and a quack! I felt like he was a creepy clown trying to entertain me and gave me the run around because he didn’t know what he was doing. He offered no solution or diagnosis after I had been throwing up, and running a fever for days and had signs of the flu. I am so very upset that these people are getting paid to NOT DO their job! I pay a lot of money for my insurance, $300 a month to be exact and it’s sad that I can’t even get good healthcare, that this load of mess is what I’m offered. Unacceptable!!!!!

Went here for ear pain and a lump behind my ear. The nurse practitioner said she saw nothing. Tried to draw blood and no one could get it so they just gave up, and just gave me antibiotics. I walked out with no idea what was wrong. Went to another urgent care 2 days later and they found out what was wrong. I feel the original care center was rushing instead of doing what it took to get bloodwork. Only positive is they were friendly.

This place blows my mind!!! My husband rushed here because it was the closest office by. He is having ALL symptoms of a heart attack and just wanted to be seen. The lady at the front told him they do not see you if you have a heart condition they encourage you to go to the ER. Are you kidding me? You want someone who thinks they may be having a heart attack to get in the car and drive them self to the ER. What part of quality patient care did you MISS????? Oh and proceeds to say thank you have a good day! Keyword: urgent care!!! Will not be visiting or referring to this office... EVER!!!!!

Just left this clinic after not being seen by a Dr. The Office Manager/Part Owner as she informed me, was very rude and unhelpful. She asked me to do her job by calling to verify my insurance coverage after she was unable to verify the insurance on her system. Ive never been spoken to so poorly by any service provider of any kind. She was, obviously, having a bad day and decided to take it out on me. Go here if youd like, but, hopefully, youll catch the Office Manager/ Part Owner in a better mood and shell treat you like a paying customer and serve you well. This is the first negative review that Ive ever written about a business...it was that bad.

I have had one good experience in the past, but the most recent bad experience highly outweighs the past, sorry to say.I took my six year old in to be followed up on, at pediatricians request. (after hours at his office) This was on day 5 running fever with the flu. (Tested positive Feb. 4, went into urgent care on feb 8) simply wanted a follow up to be sure nothing else was going on due to her still not seeming any better and her classmates at that point seemed to at least be on the mend. Bedside manner by the NP, to say the least, was horrible. They did a strep swab after I stated that I wanted her to be checked due to a friends child experiencing strep with the flu previously in the season. They laughed at me saying, “I’ve had another tell me that and I just haven’t seen one single case of it.” Well, after listening to her lungs, heart and stomach NP Coffee proceeds to inform me that her strep test is negative and that, “Her lungs and stomach sounds are fine and she just has the flu.” He then told me it, the fever could last up to ten days and I “am going to have to alternate ibuprofen and Tylenol every two hours” in a condescending way insinuating that I had not been doing that already for 5 days at that point. I said okay and reiterated that my concern was that the others (14 of 22 classmates) who had tested positive that week had seemingly gotten better by now. He then proceeds to tell me, “as for those kids their parents probably gave them tamaflu and that’s why they’re better.” Which was not true at all, but it was obvious that his disapproved of my choice not to give her tamaflu, which his nurse had just told me she didn’t give it to her kids either bc the side effects outweigh the pros. 🙄We, discouraged by the NPs bad attitude, went home and continued alternating Tylenol and ibuprofen every 4 hours as we had been doing. My daughter, the very next day, experienced a ruptured ear drum due to an ear infection missed by NP Coffee bc he never looked in my daughters ears. Never did.Upon that rupture I called my pediatrician after hours and he called in an antibiotic for her. I then turned in and called Gardendale Urgent Care to express my dissatisfaction and spoke with Nina on Sunday. She was very kind and apologetic. Monday morning another doctor called me to inform me that the strep culture sent off had actually come back positive for strep and that she needed to call in an antibiotic. I told her the situation and that her pediatrician had already done that for her ear and there was no need for any additional antibiotic. I again expressed my dissatisfaction. There was a whole additional, lengthy conversation with what I understood to be a “lead doctor” at the practice (Friday, Feb 15, an entire week later) where he basically said that I was lying about his NP not checking her ears.Needless to say, I won’t be back. I understand accidents happen. If it weren’t for his condescending attitude bedside I likely wouldn’t be as upset. If I left feeling like he had cared at all my feelings might be different.

Took our son in because he had been sick and our pediatrician closes at noon. I told them up front that he had pneumonia about a month ago. They tested him for the flu and strep, which both came back negative. The NP came in to see him and said Dr. Michelle would be in shortly. The doctor came in staring at the wall with his back towards us commenting on how there wasnt as much light in there as the previous day. Then telling my son he would have to get a ladder out and fix it. He was very jumpy and everywhere, only looking us in the eyesa couple of times for a few seconds each. Nothing he said made much sense. He was more concerned with his stomach and appendicitis. I, again, brought up the pneumonia. I told him all of the symptoms match up to when he had it before and asked about a chest xray. He told me none of his symptoms line up to pneumonia and to rush him to the ER if his stomach pain worsens, but he thought it was just a virus. Walked out of the room and told us to stay put for a few minutes. The NP came back in repeating what he said. I, once again, brought up the pneumonia and asked if we should do a chest xray to rule it out. She said no, you dont have stomach pain (this was not his only symptom) with pneumonia. That was on Tuesday, its Friday and nothing has changed. Took him to a different doctor and his pneumonia is coming back. This could have been treated 3 days ago and he wouldnt be miserable right now! This could have landed our son in the hospital! I went by to get a school excuse for Wednesday and Thursday and waited 2 minutes at the window (with no one in the waiting room) and no one ever came. We will never go back nor will I recommend them to anyone.

Absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! My son was crying and just by feeling him you could tell he had a fever. Nurse took his temp and said it was normal. BS!!! I made another nurse take it and it was 104, which she then proceeded to do nothing about but give motrin and tell us to go to the ER. Seriously i could have done that. What did I pay $75 for?! Way to do yoyr job! What the heck does urgent care mean down here? Apparently not the same definition as I was taught. Wish I could give negative stars.
