We were blessed to have made prior arrangements for my dad. Our experience at Ridouts Gardendale was as pleasant as a funeral can get. They met with us in a timely fashion. Everything was explained in detail. The director was only a call away if we needed anything at all. All the staff were helpful before and after the service to make sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend Ridouts Gardendale to friends and family.

My boyfriend’s family chose Ridout’s for his mother’s funeral. I’m so glad they did because they did an amazing job on everything. Beth took amazing care of us from the very beginning to the end, calling us everyday to get all the details right and being kind and patient while we chose everything; she made suggestions and helped with ideas which was so nice of her. I really do love how they are trying to make funerals more modern and personable for everyone. It’s comforting being surrounded by happy reminders of the one you love, rather than just seeing a casket. Everyone on the staff was extremely nice and respectful, so so very helpful and patient with all of us as well while we were grieving and trying to make it through these awful times. I attended a service at Ridouts Gardendale Chapel today and all that I could say was wow. I was speechless. I have never been to a funeral or a funeral home who put this much time and effort into such a Celebration. There was so many details and features. They truly honored this persons life in every way possible. The service its self was also wonderful. The funeral director who directed this service was very respectful. Her name was Beth Calloway and she gave me a tour of the funeral home while I was there and also showed me to the family room and fixed me a cup of coffee with creamer and sugar and made sure i was comfortable. The atmosphere of this place and the people who work here are all truly amazing. Thank you all.

The staff was very professional and caring. I felt they were very accommodating. They went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met and that we were satisfied with all aspects of the process. Theyve been around long enough that they could anticipate almost our every need. Even when we had some strange requests, they werent flustered by them, they just found a solution to our situations. Professional, courteous, understanding, caring, and thorough. Theyre the best pick in the area.

Rigouts Gardendale Chapel provided a wonderful celebration of life experience for my Dads service. Beth Calloway went out of her way to make sure we had everything we requested. Everyone was polite, professional, and accommodating. I would recommend this Chapel to family and friends, but with that being said, I would encourage anyone who hasnt made pre-arrangements to consider doing so. I feel that we spent more money than we would if we were not full of emotions and overwhelming grief. The staff was aware of our emotional state. Although they seemed genuinely sympathetic, they used it to their advantage to upsell products and services. We were not made clear of all the available choices, and we purchased the higher-end products and services, believing that was our only choice. Overall it was a good experience considering the circumstances.

Our brother-in-law recently passed away recently. My sister and brother-in-law had the foresight to make all arrangements well ahead of time. There is no way to express how much anxiety it spared their children. My niece and nephew only had to arrange a burial time. The service was handled perfectly. Review for Sheila Thomason At the time of my deepest grief , the process of laying my precious husband Donny , to rest was made easier by the staff at Ridout’s Chapel and Oakwood Memorial Gardens . They ministered Christ to me and my family during a most dark and difficult time in our lives.

From the moment I called initially after my fathers death, Beth Calloway was endearing and sympathetic. We scheduled an appointment and delayed the appointment twice but Beth assured us that she understood and was very kind to us. During the review of the options for the service, she presented everything very well and took our comments well and wasnt overly pushing trying to sell options that we didnt want which we appreciated very much in the mindset we were in. We chose a catering option and then changed it the day before the event and Beth was unflappable, making the change seamlessly. Beth has the perfect personality for what she does. I cannot say enough positive things about her.We buried my mother in this same facility 8 years ago and the building has undergone significant changes, all to the good. Before, the walls were bland and the building interior felt very septic. Now there are coordinated wall colors to go along with the new furniture. The rooms are inviting and cozy like a living room in your home. That made a huge difference during the visitation and the catered meal. Bravo to these changes, they are excellent.We have no complaints about our experience. Everyone was very pleasant, the events were handled wonderfully. Thank you so much to all the staff!

Through a difficult time the entire staff at Ridouts was professional and courteous. More importantly, they were personal and they treated every member of my family like their family. The personalization by Carla was beautiful and spot on; the flowers were in abundance and glorious; the room was relaxed and cozy and the service was perfect! I’m sure there may be places some places that are less expensive but as many have said before, their professionalism, compassion, patience, and dedication to meeting our every need was unlike anything we’ve ever experienced with another company. Their thoroughness in helping us plan every detail and transparency during contract write ups lifted so much weight off the family during an extremely difficult time. We never felt rushed, in fact, quite the opposite! The staff allowed us to go over some of the times scheduled to accommodate the large number of guests who attended viewings and the funeral.Thank you also for accommodating our needs for programs and prayer cards to be in both English and Spanish. We originally hired Ridouts to complete the entire service. However, after being floored at the amount of cremation we found different company to provide the cremation services for $950.00 versus $4150.00 which is what Ridouts was charging us. We still held the service at Ridouts and was pleased. I do believe the cost for other items such as the video, guest book, and urn were very overpriced as well. The three stars is for the service presentation. Do not feel pressured to purchase items directly from them.

I am not sure if there is ever a great experience at a funeral home. Making arrangements for a loved one is very difficult. However the people at Ridouts Gardendale were very caring and accommodating. The facilities were very nice. Bethany Galloway handled the arrangements for us and was very professional, courteous and caring. She was very helpful in making sure everything went smoothly. During such a difficult time, that was most important.

They did a wonderful job helping us honor my mother. Bethany was extremely helpful, communicative, and understanding. In a time of grief, it can be very hard to make decisions and plan anything, and Bethany really helped to take that responsibility off of our shoulders. My mom would have loved her memorial, and I appreciate the staff and everything they did.

Words can not express how grateful I am for the excellent service provided by Bethany (Funeral Director). Bethany was patient and thorough as she explained all the services that they provide and how she would be there every step of the way through this process. Bethany stayed late to allow us to see our father’s body the night before the funeral, she responded to emails after work hours and she provided updates during the process. Bethany’s direction and assistance provided for a smooth process for our family.

Beth, made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in the door until the end of the services. She communicated very well from start to finish and then even afterwards providing excuses for all our children. The chapel was very nice and well decorated. My husband’s aunt passed away unexpectedly and with no insurance or information on her wishes. As the only living relatives we began dealing with death for the first time. I would just like to say this is an outstanding service with a bunch of caring professionals. Beth walked us through the process of my mothers after care, and helped us with every question that we had. She went out of her way to download the music for my moms funeral and scanned all our pictures for us and just made the arrangements easy for us. She helped us with all the legal documentation and just made it a pleasant experience without any type of drama whatsoever. I definitely would highly recommend the service they provided. As decoration was approaching, I called Belinda, the office manager, and asked for help with a grounds keeping issue. She said she would personally hand-deliver the request to the appropriate person. By that afternoon, the matter had been taken care of! She was so helpful and thoughtful! I greatly appreciated her for seeing this through until completion.

Professional, caring, and considerate are only a few ways to describe Beth. She greeted us upon arrival at the front door, made sure we were comfortable during arrangements, and went out of her way to make my grandmothers burial a day to remember. With written permission she took her fingerprints and saved them for us so we were able to order a necklace with her fingerprint and saying on it.She helped create a set up that describe my grandmother so well, all the way down to her flowers. Beth was very detailed during our meeting, asking us questions about her life that made us think about the memories we had with her. She got every detail to a T, from her favorite color and song, down to having her nails painted pink. We are overly grateful to have such a caring person help us during this difficult time. Last month my family needed the services of the Gardendale chapel for my nephews memorial service. We close this chapel because 23 years ago we honored his mother there. I cant say enough good things about sweet Beth who went out of her way, even after her normal work day hours to help me. She was a great help to me with planning the service and video. I am so grateful to her for her genuine kindness. We were also more than pleased with the display tables that so adequately portrayed my nephews life and personality. I would highly recommend themThe only thing I would suggest they change is the required follow up visit to get the order places for death certificates. Grieving people are really not up to doing that. The certificates can be ordered at the first meeting.

Beth turned a terrible day into a great one. Don’t let her age fool you, she knows exactly what she is doing down to every detail. We couldn’t have asked for a better director. We got lucky that she answered the call. We were able to get everything we wanted and more. She had great ideas to make the day better and she even added in a surprise balloon arch for the family. I really can’t say enough to show my gratitude for her. She was patient and showed that she really cared about the family. All of the wants and needs were met. We loved that it was more of a celebration of life and didn’t have a traditional funeral feel. It was beautiful and comforting.

Beth has a very pleasant personality, is very knowledgeable (way beyond her years) and extremely pleasant to work with. As a matter of fact the entire staff makes you feel like nothing else matters and you are the only person they are dealing with.

My parents prepaid for their funeral many years ago. When my mother recently passed, the experience could not have been more smoother than it was. When you are dealing with the death of a loved one, this is exactly what you need. Everything that my parents had prearranged went as planned. Beth and other staff was there to assist in anyway possible. At a time when you need everything to go smoothly, it did. Our mother passed on September 3, 2019. We have never had to deal with this before and had no clue what to do or what to expect. Our funeral director Bethany Calloway was very helpful and compassionate as she walked us through everything step by step. On December 5, 2019, our dad passed away and we called Bethany that night and she made all the arrangements with us again. Ray Hill was our director for dad and also did a great job. We were very fortunate that mom and dad had their funeral arrangements already taken care of. Shocked at how quick things can change, my wife and I met with Jetta Benson and she was very helpful helping us set up our future funeral arraignments. We were very pleased and thankful to be in such good care in our time of loss.

We had such a calming experience after my Grandmothers passing. Mike Yates and Carla Layne went out of their way to make sure we understand every aspect of the service and Celebration of Life event. Recently I had to make preliminary arrangements for my Mom who was in her last days in her battle with Alzheimers. The folks at Ridouts, especially my primary contact Marcia McQuillan, were exceptionally respectful, helpful, and genuine. After my Mom passed a few days later, Ridouts went out of their way to provide exceptional services with the family. In particular, Gene Smith, our Ridouts funeral director, was extraordinarily helpful and cooperative as final plans for the service were being formulated. The burial for my Mom was held over 100 miles away from Ridouts in Gardendale, where the service was held. Ridouts performed all the coordination with a funeral home in Tennessee near the cemetery, as well as with the cemetery itself. The family didnt have to worry about a thing. Everything about our interactions with Marcia and Gene were professional and smooth and we could not have asked for better service during a very difficult time. I cant say enough good things about Ridouts.

The service provide for my husband John Cole was very nice. The marine representatives present were very moving. I was very proud and knew my husband would have been also had he been able to look down upon the service.

Jetta has been so helpful and compassionate! She made sure that every detail was covered. My entire family has been so pleased! The catering service was wonderful for visitors and family! We had so much food left over and boxed it up for midnight snacks! Everything was just lovely! Thank you all!

Carla Layne did an absolutely beautiful job on all of the flowers for my grandmothers funeral. She goes the extra mile and personalizes all that she can to capture memories of the loved one. Gene Smith also was a very big help with the service and a major comfort to our family

I just want to start off by saying Beth is absolutely amazing. My uncle passed away not to long ago and it was really hard. I really had no idea where to start or what to do, but I was trying to figure it out, so I could take some of the weight off of my grandma. Not only did Beth make the funeral process and service smooth and easy, she even helped me with the 10000 other issues and questions I needed answers to like how to even contact someone about life insurance.Needless to say, its a no brainier to give her a call if in the tragic event that you need her, and everyone at Ridouts Chapels, services.
