I have been a contact wearer for 19 years and a glasses wearer for 21 and wow, this was an amazing experience. For what is anticipated to be an uncomfortable procedure, Dr. Donnenfeld and his staff couldnt have made it any more comfortable. They were incredibly warm, confident, and welcoming. The surgery itself is honestly nothing to be nervous or have anxiety over as you are in the best hands and care possible and you dont feel anything besides some pressure for the first few seconds. During it, we chatted and laughed and they kept reassuring me that I was doing great. It was less than 15 minutes and the recovery was totally bearable. This doctor and staff are the best of the best, have them on your side when having surgery on such an important part of your body. Thanks Dr. D and staff!

A few years ago. I needed a surgery to save my eyes from severe Keratoconus* l apologize if l did not spelled that correctly. But, Dr. Donnefeld helped me and my mother who at the time did not have all the money to cover for my expenses. I promise Dr.Donnenfeld to continue with my studies and learn English. He did a great job and make me feel safe. Thank you for giving me a chance! You give this girl from the Bronx a chance to continue moving forward.

He may be decent at contact lens and glasses, but dont be fooled by all his tv appearances how hes great with lasik and post lasik complications. with Lasik, he just wants you to do lasik so he can make 5k. With post lasik complications, when you complain to him that you have pain, he has a way of sweet talking to you, but really doesnt help or care, and shoves you out of his office. I would stay away if you have eye problems, would only reccommend someone to him for a basic checkup.

Friend had horrible result following cataract surgery with Dr. Donnenfeld and now has no vision and is blind in right eye. Following the procedure, the doctor irrigated the eye in the office and worsened the situation. Despite the iatrogenic complication, Dr. Donnenfeld never called to find out how patient was doing — said he was in Hawaii and had the wrong number.Now, friend is scheduled for revision surgery with a specialist in Manhattan in an attempt to salvage any vision in the eye.

I have not had LASIK with Dr. Donnenfeld but instead see him for a dry eye condition. My condition is complicated and he is very patient. He has a calming demeanor and is very knowledgeable. I appreciate him trying to help me.

Dr. Donnenfeld restored the vision of my son’s eyes when he was 14 years old. By the time I went to him Keratoconus completely destroyed one his eyes which needed a transplant. Other eye he had half of the vision . My family was devastated and didn’t know what to do. At my Very first appointment Dr. Donnenfeld was so comforting and understanding about my distress and spent at least an hour with us. He gave me all the options and assured me that everything will be alright. By the time a left the office I was feeling hopeful that my son will be able to see again and will have a bright future. Dr. Donnenfeld worked on son’s both eyes and he had full vision by the time he went to high school. Now he is all grown up and successful. We visit Dr Donnenfeld once in a year for a follow up . Me and my family will always be eternally grateful to Dr. Donnenfeld for his constant care and support at that difficult time and beyond.

Just had Lasik with Dr. Donnenfeld. He and his team were fantastic from start to finish. I was quite nervous and he made sure I was at ease. Walked me through what was happening through the (very quick) procedure. He also made light conversation through the procedure, which helped make things less nerve wracking. He is such a pro!

PSA to anyone on the fence about doing LASIK, RUN don’t walk and get it done with Dr.Donnenfeld. I got it done yesterday morning and I am feeling 100% amazing today and my eyes are not even red. I’m SHOOK. Like I’ve been crying from joy all day because I can see everything so perfectly and my eyes don’t hurt, itch, NOTHINGGG.

Dr. Donnenfled is one of the best. Hes a caring and highly skilled surgeon.I personally had a laser cataract procedure on a high astigmatic eye. The results are amazing !! I see better than ever !

Dr. Donnenfeld removed my wifes cataracts, followed by Lasix and one other procedure. He is world reknown and deserves the reputation he has built. She was a very anxious patient and he was very patient with her. Plus, the results were excellent. Need an Opthomologist? Hes your man.

I have known Eric Donnenfeld for many years, (I first met him through his wonderful late father Dr. Robert Donnenfeld) and am so glad that when I was looking for a new eye professional and saw his name. He has always been concerned about the care that he gives his patients, and not a doctor quick to do surgery. I have been to see him in the RVC, Lynbrook and now the Garden City office and the OCLI staff in each of the locations are as nice, polite and professional as Dr. Dennenfeld. Unfortunately, I had an eye injury many years ago and had to be seen by a different doctor, but when Dr. Donnenfeld came back into the office, I received a phone call and had my follow up with him. but was just as pleased with the emergency doctor that I saw . After a few years my eyes are ready for my cataract surgery this week with him and even through all the preparations I could not have asked for better doctors and staff to work with.. As far as I am concern there are not enough stars available to give this group.

I was referred to Dr Donnenfeld by no less than 3 other opthalmologists who claimed he was the best for cataracts....and they were right !! I am an orthodontist and so obviously my vision is critical to my work. I had a detached retina the previous year and now required cataract surgery. Due to the detachment and a vitrectomy my case was more involved than normal. He addressed my concerns during a very thorough consultation and put my fears to rest. He suggested a procedure with a laser which would be less traumatic to the eye. The procedure went perfectly without a drop of pain and I am back to work the next day. The entire staff is very professional and they take you right on time. The surgery center where he performs the procedures is also very organized and professional. I highly recommend this practice !!
