This spa is ♨! The receptionist Astrid is efficient and professional! The massage therapist,Victoria, Stan, Thomas and Miguel are awesome! They do great work! The location is clean and nice!

I had THE BEST facial with Amanda. My next facial with a different person (Amanda wasn’t available) was annoying. I wanted to relax and enjoy but the first 20 minutes were spent with the esthetician trying to upsell me add-ons to my facial. I had already pre-purchased add-ons specifically to be able to fully relax and enjoy without all the chit chat. The manager Ashley is super sweet and accommodating. Overall it’s a decent experience although I don’t love the increase in membership fees. I paid my membership every month for a year during covid when the business was completely closed and no services were available. Shortly after they reopened, they raised the membership price which is frustrating for the members who continued to pay and support the business during the time their business was closed.

(March 31, 2021) Now this Hand & Stone Massage place is the bomb diggity. The place is so much bigger, the atmosphere is great here. Just how I like it when I go to the spa. Which was long overdue. I havent been to get a facial in over 10 years smh. My X- fiance stayed up on that & he aint have to. I really miss him

Ive had a few massages here with different masseurs each time. Each were great but the best so far has been Victoria! She found the spots that needed the most attention and worked out the knots and tension. I left feeling so much better. Highly recommend booking with her!

I’ve been getting facials from Addie for a couple of months and my skin has improved so much. She’s recommended good products for my skin and she really is a joy to see every month. The location is a 30 min drive for me but that just goes to show how much I enjoy Addie and the facials. Also, highly recommend the dermalinfusion!

This was my first visit to the spa. The atmosphere is quite welcoming, friendly and relaxing. I got a facial with Josephine. I am extremely satisfied with the service. Josephine is very pleasant, professional, skillful and knowledgeable. My overall facial was a fantastic experience. Definitely, I will come back for service again soon. Their attitudes are incredibly horrible and still expected a tip after? I got a facial and it was nothing extraordinary, something i could have done at home. Meanwhile the lady talking the whole time trying to promote her side hustle to me... I read the reviews before coming here and thought it would be great, please save yourself and go somewhere else. The only good thing was the nice receptionist.

I came for my first visit a few weeks ago and saw Addie. She was so sweet and did an amazing job. I felt so relaxed and comfortable in her hands. I would definitely recommend seeing her. My face felt so much healthier and glowed afterwards!

I haven’t had a massage in years or a facial and I just moved from va to md so I booked a facial and massage. At a discount price due to it being my first visit there. I also added a brow wax they were very accommodating. However in my facial I was told I need microdermabrasion so I said ok. I also was a little congested post massage. So she suggested eucalyptus to help with that I agreed. I have sensitive skin also. With everything said and done I paid almost $300 due to the add ons for sensitive skin microdermabrasion and aromatherapy. And had no idea it was almost $100 add on charges. Everyone was nice but I wish I had been told the price of each add on she did so I could have said no because I wasn’t expecting to pay all that. Great massage and facial (the wax burned my skin bad) but I just wish I was told the price before I agreed to some services.

Have been a member here for over a year and it is definitely worth it! I see Shea for my massages and she is amazing, so thorough and tailors each session to whatever I need. The manager, Ashley, is also great, she helped me sort out some issues with my account during COVID and was so patient and helped me get everything resolved. Thanks H&S!

I received my first facial from H & S today. Compared to other facials Ive received, it was good. The location was convenient and clean. The staff was nice and accommodating. Addie was my esthetician. She was skillful, efficient and pleasant. I signed up for the month to month membership. I hope its worth it and I continue to see good quality and professionalism.

Front desk is helpless! This is the second time I come and will NEVER be back! My husband got the membership, and it is just a complete waste of our money. Communication from providers and front desk it is bad. Just bad, so bad... take your business someplace else! It is not worth your time or money!

I went to get a facial done and the esthetician was from Peru as well. And she talked to me the ENTIRE facial. Was very unprofessional. People come to get facials and massages to relax. Not to talk the entire time and can’t even enjoy the service. I would stay quiet at times trying to give her the hint to stop but she wouldn’t. Then she tried to sell face wash, lotions etc that they sell there to my daughter that was waiting for me in the waiting room!! She didn’t even have any service with her. Can you believe that? So so rude and my daughter felt so uncomfortable while she kept trying to sell her their products. She also tried to sell me serum and I told her I didn’t use them and she insisted I “needed to” like if it was for my Heath and life or death situation. I guess they are in super need of money. Never coming back again and it was my first time there but now my last.

Most awful spa experience!! Went for a facial with Julia. She showed up 20 minutes late AND she was hung over. She was breathing alcohol breath into my face the whole time. GROSS!!! Then she got some of the products in my eye. My eye was really burning and I asked for a wet tissue to wipe it. She didnt understand and it took a couple of requests to finally get what I wanted. She spent most of the time fumbling with the equipment and not actually giving me my facial. HORRIBLE experience!!!

MISLEADING/DECEIVING PRICESI had very bad experiences at Gaithersburg location this afternoon.When the store had promotion/discount price for non-member last year in July, 4 gift cards at a price of $69.95 each (membership price), I bought 4, and have used 3 gift cards without any incidents. However, this afternoon, when I presented to the front desk the last gift card, paying for my daughters facial, I was told, addition to the gift card, I must pay $50 because the services today cost $109. I was shocked! I told the front desk that I have been using the last 3 gift cards and did not pay anything else, except tips.I understand that the promotion (gift cards) I got was to get facial/ massage at a discounted price ($69.95) and that was fine for the last 3 visits. Why do I have to pay full price this time, using the same gift card? The front desk (I did not get his name) explained to me that I already had the introductory visit last year, and since I am not a member, I have to pay full price. I told him this is not about the introductory visit, this is a gift card that I bought at discounted price as non-member, and I should be able to use the gift card to pay, like I did the last 3 times. He said last times the clerk was wrong by not charging me extra, because they thought I was a member, or I may have told them I was a member! He does not get that-- If I were a member, I dont have to buy gift card, because I will get discounted price anyway, by paying monthly membership fee $69.95 and receive facial/massage once a month. Does he mean the previous clerks were wrong all 3 times by not charging me extra??? I feel I was unreasonably charged $50 more this time, and that they are deceiving/misleading as hes telling me since I am not a member, I have to pay extra for the gift card.It was around 5:30pm and I know the staff will need to close the store at 6 so I paid and left. What if I give the gift card as a gift to my friends/relatives to get a massage, do they have to pay additional $50? I will be so embarrassed if they do. It does not make sense!!! I need the manager to look into this incident and provide explanation!!A very frustrated customer,

I visited Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa for the first time on March 16, 2018 and it was the best birthday present I could have given myself. My initial call was with Stacey to book my appointment. The call experience was very friendly and helpful to ensure that I was satisfied with my appointment time and service choice upon ending the call. Stacey answered any and all questions I had about the massage service and provided the names of a couple of massage therapists that Id be satisfied with. I opted to choose Stan as my massage therapist and he was really great. I decided I would get the hot stone massage, which Id recommend especially, if you have not had a massage in a while I find it helps to relax your muscles. Upon the ending of my appointment David at the front desk took great care in explaining the services provided and the membership, if I were interested. Because their service is so friendly and caring as well as theres no hard sale, I opted to sign-up for the membership to see how it goes given its not costly like other spas Ive visited. I must say I was pleasantly pleased with my experience and Im looking forward to my massage or facial during the month of April. You cant go wrong with giving Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa a try; your body will thank you.

I recently enjoyed an afternoon of luxury by treating myself to a massage (with Kyle) and a facial (with Vivian). Kyle did a great job and is a really nice guy. I would recommend a regular massage as opposed to a hot stone one however. And the facial was wonderful! Vivian recommended what she thought would work best with my skin and seemed very knowledgeable.The services themselves were worth 5 stars. I took off one star because the membership deal can be a little frustrating. I dont recommend joining unless youll be sure to use the once a month services on a timely basis! Stacey at the front desk has been very helpful though!!

I always have a full body Swedish massage with Elke. She has the best hands and she is very nice. We always talk abt my areas that need special attn before hand and she makes sure the massage pressure is perfect for me. I never have had a wait and she is very professional. Hand & Stone has been great for both facials and massages. I joined a few years back because of an injury and Buddy was great to help work out my issues through massage. Ive also recently had services with Elke and she is great! She pays attention to what you ask for and is very attentive. The location is also convenient with plenty of parking out front.

From the minute I walked in the door, until the minute I left, the folks here made sure that my massage experience was a relaxing as it should be. David was very helpful getting me checked in and out, and although he mentioned various specials and promotions, there was no high pressure sales pitch at all. The massage from Jose was perfect! He found knots and tight areas in my muscles that I didnt know were there, and took the time to get each of them back to a more relaxed state. He is definitely one of the best, and I recommend him to anyone!

Elke is an amazingly skilled and knowledgeable massage therapist! The customer services representatives are friendly and professional. I think the membership deal is a great one and I love accruing points for upgrades. Unfortunately, the music that was being piped in a few months ago was not relaxing and it negatively affected my massage experience. It has recently been changed and is better.

It was definitely not the best massage Ive ever had. The front desk was not organized and kept forgetting to give me the intake form which caused some confusion/delay. My massage therapist was very sweet but the massage was shorter than it should have been and her touch was way too light. She ended by trying a traction-type thing with a towel which unfortunately caused more pain. Anyway, she was very nice but - for me - just didnt work out.

I got a Swedish Massage as a gift and had my appointment with Gary a month ago. The massage was absolutely amazing! Gary was gentle and kind. He made sure I felt comfortable and gave me some tips at the end to keep my back from hurting. I was completely relaxed and had it been the end of the day I would have fallen asleep! I signed up for their membership after that and cant wait for my next massage with Gary!

I bought the 1 hour hot stone massage as a gift for a friend. According to my friend, the massage was very good but only 30 minutes not a full hour. It was also mentioned that they felt somewhat pressured by staff to purchase extra/additional items.This was not the feedback I was expecting and am disappointed.

I am a member here, and have been for about a year now. I absolutely love my girl Meryl for massages. She is consistently amazing and really helps me work out the knots causing my migraines. Peaceful and totally relaxing experience. An hour massage allows you to disconnect and decompress for a while. Gary is the absolute best. He works on problem areas with just the right amount of pressure. Highly recommend.

It is a while that I am going to this Spa once a month.. First I was not so happy because the therapists that I had a session with and liked, were either leaving or having problems that I had to reschedule my appointments. And that meant I had to start again to find the therapist I liked. But since last year everything changed. There are more than one good therapists working there now and I love every session I get with Meryl. She is full of positive energy. A sweet lady who is always on time and welcome you with a big smile. She listens to what makes you more comfortable and she does s great job.I should not leave Ms Stacey at the front desk out of this review. This is a top notch place for a massage and facial. The customer service is excellent. Before becoming a Hand and Stone customer, I received a massage at a location where it was almost impossible to get a follow-up appointment. The massage was fine but booking a future appointment was difficult given my unpredictable schedule. I became frustrated and decided to go elsewhere. I decided to give Hand and Stone a try. What a world of difference!!! I have always been able to book an appointment without any problems. On occasion, the time I wanted was not available but that was rare. The front desk is very courteous, friendly, and helpful. Upon signing in, they will offer you tea or water.The masseuses that have worked on me are excellent - Vicky, Buddy, and Gary. They take the time to understand what are your needs to provide the best massage possible. Vicky and Buddy left to pursue other opportunities. But before leaving, Vicky referred me to Buddy and Buddy would later refer me to Gary. It was a seamless transition. Gary listened to what I wanted and has consistently provided an excellent massage. This really shows how much Hand and Stone masseuses care about their customers. I really feel relaxed after a session. I sit at a desk all day and I commute on the Metro. That can a toll on the body. But I feel much better after a massage from Gary.Ask for DJ if youre getting a facial. I tried one for the first time. DJ is not only super nice and friendly but shes very good at her job. It was my first time and she answered all of my questions.I highly recommend massage at the Kentlands Hand and Stone location.

I have had neck and lower back issues for years and been to many, many massage therapists. Jose has moves that I have never had used on my neck before that provide instant relief with long lasting results. He just recently did a piriformis release on an area that had been tweaked for over a week, and it released instantly. No more pain. Jose is a miracle worker. I have had similar experiences with the facials. Ive had many over the years, but the best one EVER was one DJ did last month. Not just a feel good facial, although it felt wonderful, but healing, and she provided just enough information about product changes that would help my skin without selling me. The front desk is always pleasant, too, Stacey in particular.

Just say no, when they want you to sign their contract. I have had the worst experience with this location and it is dragging on and on and on even though I contacted both the spa itself and corporate to get my membership cancelled. They appear to have cancelled me temporarily but then started charging me again... in the middle of the COVID shutdown when they are certainly closed anyways.I would never set foot in this place again. The receptionists were rude, unprofessional, and shouting my private medical information loudly to each other in a lobby full of people. Their handling of sensitive information and/or preparing a client ahead of time was ridiculous, unprofessional, and callous; even after repeated requests and touching base via phone ahead of the appointments. Never again.I have documentation showing the multiple times Ive reached out to this location and never once received a response.

I went for the hot stone massage yesterday. Jose is incredible!! It is always such a pleasant experience each time I go. Janelle and Stacey always greet you with a warm welcome. You feel relaxed as soon as you walk in. I highly recommend this location!

Today, I had the most relaxing and invigorating hot stone massage with Elke. Shes the best with technique, as well as good conversation. Hand and Stone Massage at Kentlands is always an enjoyable and exceptional experience. The front desk personnel are friendly, professional and helpful. My once-a-month visits are my wellness treats to me. They are the gem of the Kentlands business establishments; well worth your visit.

The place is clean and nice and the location is convenient. But, the massage therapist is not skillful at all. She touched me without any pressure. She said it was because her massage was for relaxation. I was not relaxed by the massage. After an hour of massage, I felt I had wasted my time amd money. I usually get massage once a week at another massage place. But this time, I tried this place for their promotion for first time visitors, but the experience was disappointing.

Went for a couples retreat massage with my husband. My husbands massage therapist was Elke and he said that the massage was excellent. I had a massage with Elke in the past and I agree she does a fine job. My husband reported the room was a bit cold and I agreed, but I am always cold.

I came here to get a classic facial clarity treatment and it was amazing. Stacey was very kind and helpful since it was my first time. Pragya, who did the facial, was wonderful and really helped me with my skin! Will be coming again and recommend this place to anyone who is looking for great treatment.

After receiving a gift certificate to the Hand & Stone Spa in the Kentlands for my 40th birthday, took advantage of their new client 1 hour massage, and had a really lovely deep-tissue massage. The personnel (Janelle) at the front were extremely kind and friendly, and I really enjoyed the professional manner and experience from my masseuse Meryl. So much I signed up for their monthly membership. It is definitely worth it.

Very nice staff at front desk! Excellent massage technicians but different styles. One might include a brief hand & foot massage but another didnt (I dozed off and didnt request it), so make sure you ask.

I have been a member for a year or so and love Hand & Stone. Sharnika is fabulous and myskin has never looked better. Stacy suggested the peppermint scalp massage and I tried ittoday and it felt wonderful!

My experience at hand and stone was good overall. The massage and facial were performed well, however I had a few “bumps” with the reception desk. I believe some of them need a bit more training. And there was never a manager/supervisor to assist them. There was always some error/ missing pieces on my experience(wrong kind of massage reserved; or didn’t book part of the package at all) or they can describe you what an upgrade or procedure consist of. They are good about trying to fix it, but ultimately you leave on a bitter note. I gave 4 stars because, they seem to value the customers and want them to come back.

I had a hot stone massage with Sherelle, and it was one of the most relaxing experiences of my life. I highly recommend for any one with tight knots in the muscles. The service is excellent and price is reasonable.

Ive tried several of the massage therapists at H&S. Elke and Buddy are my favorites. Doris is also amazing, but Im not sure if she still works there. Cost is comparable to other chains with monthly plans.Twice I have had experiences where the desk staff made mistakes with my appointments- once by changing my therapist without telling me in advance and once by double booking, so when I arrived, my therapist was with another client, forcing me to reschedule for another day. Both times, however, the staff was both apologetic and courteous, and they offered me concessions for my trouble.

I received a gift card for Christmas so this was my first experience and it was so just ok. Now the woman at the front desk was very good at greeting me and getting me signed in. My massage therapist was nice but I didnt get into the room until 6 mins after the hour. By the time I was on the table and she started it was 10 mins after the hour and she was done at 51 mins after the hour. Basically a 41 min massage. That really irritated me. I cant imagine having been the person that pays a $100 for that. Luckily I got the intro price, but really....41 mins and it was too soft for me. I will go back because I got a pretty nice gift card but will probably just use it up on a facial or look for a therapist that is recommended.

We had a good massage. However, it wasnt an hour. Was maybe 45 minutes. But it was good. The service was good. Just wish it was the amount of time advertised.

The facial was good but I can walk away saying I had way better. When I walked in the entire staff was above 50 and I figured the massage and facial will be amazing. Unfortunately,I hyped myself up because everything fell apart shortly after. First my appointment was scheduled wrong. Second after my facial the lady sent me to the lobby as if I didnt have a massage scheduled. Third the lady giving me a massage had a hang nail that I felt through the entire massage. This is the first time I wish I did fall asleep during a massage. One star was for cleanliness, one star for the ice cold water, and one star for rushing to get me out of there sooner.

First time ever at Hand and Stone. Went for a 60 minute deep tissue couples massage with my partner. We had Deborah (sorry if spelt wrong) and Jose. My partner loved Deborah, and, as a massage therapist and esthetician, I have to say Jose was absolutely amazing. Truly a deep tissue massage.

I have had facials/microdermabrasion at this location after moving here from Florida. Sharnika takes good care of me. She evaluates my skin every visit and makes suggestions but there is never any pressure to do more or buy more than I want. The front desk people are very helpful, offering water and a comfortable place to wait. My first visit i got lost and the young man was extremely helpful over the phone and when we met in person he offered to be my personal GPS, as I am new to the area. I highly recommend this location!!
