DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT take anyone that you love to this place. Go to North Florida! This is the worst hospital I have ever visited. They are horrible with follow up care. The doctors screw up and try to cover it up. They dont communicate well, not even among staff. And for a teaching hospital, they really suck! All they are teaching others to do is to lie when they know theyve screwed up!!!

Dr. Daniel Hoh and his team. The nursing staff and breathing techs, even the cleaning staff all their positive energy combined gave me hope. They were so concerned. And their hospital chaplain was so comforting. I thank God for each of them.

Kind, courteous. stayed on top of the situation after surgery. The Drs answered all our questions and the staff from Dr, nurses, of all kinds and PT. allowed my family to relax knowing the staff were taking care of business.

Dr Rahman is an amazing Neurosurgeon. I will recommend her to anyone. My mother had a tumor on her spinal chord, almost paralyzing her. 6 months after surgery, shes walking 2 miles without any assistance.

I met with a neurosurgeon here who refused to attempt an operation that showed promise to help me with severe chronic neck pain (he also did not look closely at the problem which is likely why). After speaking with four other neurosurgeons and two chiropractors who all agreed it was the best course of operation, I had the procedure done in Louisiana.I had to return to Gainesville for my classes at UF shortly after the operation, and the neurosurgeons at UF neurology refused to see me for a post-op check up. They gave no reason why other than that they didnt perform the operation. When I told them that my surgeon was nine hours away and I have to stay for classes, they told me that I had then better go to the emergency room for my standard post-op check up because the UF neurosurgeons who are the only doctors in the area with expertise in the type of procedure (foraminotomy for any interested) refused to perform a routine inspection fully knowing that I will now have to find someone far less qualified.I have never had or even heard of a hospital or any doctor refusing basic care and sending someone away to receive sub-optimal (and far more expensive) care. Im afraid I cant remember the name of the original doctor who didnt take the time to look over my information before refusing the operation, but for the post-op, I requested any available neurosurgeon and was refused any sort of appointment whatsoever.
