This facility does not even deserve a 1 star. Do not place family/loved ones here. The people who run this place are not focused on helping people they rather have you fail. The living conditions are so bad and they make the residence clean up damages that they should be taking care of or they get punished. Issues can be addressed for months without any fixes. They are big on terminating someone just because they are in a mood versus having a valid reason. You will never know if one day they will just up and decide you are gone. They play with peoples lives. All they care about is all the money they can take from you. Do not come to this facility if your completion of the program relies on everything, find somewhere else.

I walk through the doors at turning point in 2015 after doing a little over six months incarcerated. At that time and even after I graduated I did not completely comprehend the scope of what Turning Point was to me and what exactly it did for me. I walked in to the door with a single bag of clothes and some toiletries. I had totally destroyed my life up until that point. I had nothing and almost no one other than my mother and a few really good friends that I consider my brothers. The day I walked into turning point... was the turning point in my life. Chance Mike and Curtis are amazing guys that put there heart and soul into that program and into helping the men that need them. No theyre not always going to be your best friend no theyre not always going to be nice. However, they were exactly what I needed and who I needed help me. The program is not overly pushy it is not overly religious it is about living life on lifes terms. I graduated 2016 1 year after I entered the program but I wasnt quite ready to leave and Chance knew that so he allowed me to stay for an additional six months. That extra time really helped me get my life going again. I walked in the door with almost nothing no license no vehicle no job no career. However, when I left Turning Point I had all of those things back and I still do to this day with many more blessings. Today Im clean and sober I have a great career an amazing company I own my home I own my vehicles I pay my bills and I am a productive member of society. That is something I honestly never thought I would get back before I went to Turning Point. And yes I am an addict I have had a couple minor slip-ups since I left the program. But the knowledge and tools that I gained during my time in Turning Point helped me to be able to move past those incidence on my own. I Still talk to Mike Chance and Kurt to this day. Ive told them before but I would definitely tell them again I am eternally grateful for their support their friendship their love and care of their fellow man. If not for them and if not for turning point I would probably not be alive today. If you know somebody struggling with addiction please get them some help somewhere if you can. Call Turning Point because I know even if Chance cant help he will do whatever he can help find them someone who can.

Well let me start with saying that everyone there has been through what your going through an knows just what you need to do to have a better life. Turning Point cares about your future an gets you prepared for the adulting that comes with an everyday sober life. Everyone there is serious about their sobriety and is there to help you along your new journey. Chance an the staff are still a great friend to this day. I will always love this program an what it did for me an if your reading this then go try it you will love what it can do for you.

The only thing I can say about Turning PointIs that it’s a great program for anyone that needs help. My son has improved with on how to believe in himself and to learn to be on his own in paying bills that he knows he has to do it himself with know help from anyone else. I am so glad my son went through this program. He is like a different person and I have to Thank God for a program like Turning Point that worked for my son.

I was released from the county jail after serving six months because of my addiction. I never once in my life thought I needed a program to make myself better. I thought I could handle things on my own, but with addiction thats never the case. I recently graduated turning point and can honestly say its the best decision Ive in my adult journey. For any program to work you have to want it, at first I wasnt so sure but as I stuck through the program I learned how to start taking responsibility of my own life. Ive never been able to maintain a job, pay Bills, just never grew up I guess. Im now graduated the program with my own car, a job I love , and a different outlook on life sober. If you want to start living a good life sober turning point has the resources and staff that truly want to see you succeed

I spent the majority of my adult life in and out of jail breaking the law hurting my family and everyone around me due to my addiction. It was a little more two years ago I was court ordered to residential recovery and two programs I was in got shut down so I transferred to turning point and it was probably the best decision I made in my life I didnt have a license or a car just the clothes on my back. I walked to work everyday and saved saved saved and Without the structure and guidance they provided I most certainly wouldnt be were I am today! Ive been clean over two years now I own two vehicles, I have my own home, Im married I have a great job and a halfway decent credit score that keeps increasing. I see a few of these other reviews and they really are the farthest thing from the truth ! If you follow the programs requirements and make a modest attempt to succeed in life the possibilities of your success are endless. But its not up to turning point if you succeed they are there to help you every step of the way but its a recovery program not a daycare and if you have no desire to put forth the effort and hard work then dont expect to make it. I was at the bottom of the barrel with my family expecting to find me back in prison or a morgue and here I am two years clean and counting and I firmly believe that it wouldnt be possible without the help of turningpoint !

Its a shame five stars is the limit when it comes to Turning Point. Im a recovering methamphetamine and opiod user that struggled over 20 years with trying to live a sober life. I had been to rehabs in the past and had a very short lived success with staying clean. The last time I was in rehab was a success. I went through the program at Turning Point. I think its a good time to add that on July 26th of 2019 I celebrated 3 years of sobriety. Thats right a man with 60 plus felony convictions and 20 plus years under his belt of heavy drug use, just celebrated 3 years of sobriety. I went into Turning Point and listend to the rules and regulations that were in place. Chance Castleberry and Michael Holcomb explained what was required of me and held me accountable for my actions. The facility ( apartment ) was top notch living conditions. I went to meetings, i got a sponsor, i took in the information provided at the Turning Point office meetings and my life began to change. These guys checked in on me regularly, encouraged me along the way and showed a genuine concern about my wellbeing and progress. I could go on and on amd honestly would be shocked if anybody is still reading at this point. But if you are trust me when I say if your ready to take that step and get away from the life you have been living then there is no better place to go to and get on the road you will end up wanting to stay on for life. Btw. Its nice that even a year later I still get checked on from time to time by these guys Chance and Mike from Turning Point.

Recently leaving turning point, while I was in the Turning Point. I realized that there is no standard for care at this treatment facility. Some residents are given multiple chances when failing Drug tests. Others are removed from the facility for simple infractions such as being late and being honest. I feel with a treatment center such as this one there needs to be a set standard for care with all its residents. Not every one from what I see gets the same level of care, some are allowed multiple Chances, others who are actively seeking help for their addiction are punished for being honest and forced to leave the facility. One particular incident when a resident was forced Out of the facility for being late and failing to check in over the phone. While, during the same week two other residents failed drug tests for methamphetamine the other for cocaine. Both of these residents were allowed to stay in the program. With out any punishment or any back lash. A few weeks go by and another resident is forced to leave the program for being honest and telling that he had relapsed and used methamphetamine. During that same week another resident whom had already failed one drug test fails another drug test and is allowed to stay with the knowledge that if he dose not tell anyone about the situation and as long as it’s kept quiet he will be allowed to stay.Certain people in this facility are given more chances then others whom are legitimately seeking help and trying to do the right thing. While others are given opportunity that most will never get, because the director of the facility Attempts to play God.

This is truly the best residential program in Gainesville! I can speak from experience because I was enrolled in another one that comes up first on searches due to a clever business name. I entered Turning Point after 10 miserable months in another local facility. The staff at Turning Point are genuinely concerned with the addict and their personal recovery. They have built the nicest and most modern facility in town, no other can compare, or come close. This facility is right in town and on the public transit route, so the suspended license that most of us have will not totally make your commute to work and amenities intolerable. I can say as a recovering addict who did 10 months in a less conveniently located program, this facility is nicer than my residence in the free world. Please just go look at the other residential treatment centers in the area first and then come see Turning Point, it is like day and night. The others do not compare by any means. I would rather do 12 months in Turning Point than 1 month in that horrible program I was enrolled in prior to my attorney finding Turning Point. Please just go look at the living conditions and decide for yourself. The facility is so much better and the treatment is actually administered by professionals. The other program I was enrolled in for 10 months used mandatory daily outside 12-step AA meetings at the local church. Turning Point runs flexible onsite classes all day throughout the week to accommodate different work schedules. This facility is actually a legitimate recovery compared to the half-way house environments the others operate. The facility has security surveillance and elevators. All apartments have no more than 2 men to a room and each apartment has maximum of 6 men for 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms. My previous program packed us in like sardines with 12+ men trying to share 2 outdated restrooms. This is by far the closest you will find to real world living while getting clean. You do not have to be embarrassed and ashamed of where you are living while you are getting clean. I am glad I was discharged from my 1st attempt at rehab because it led me to the best and most humane treatment center I could ever have been fortunate enough to attend. I want to thank the entire Turning Point staff for showing me that recovery does not have to be an environment of fear and intimidation. I could not believe it when I was delivered to the facility. After spending 10 months time in that other substandard facility, I thought they were kidding me that the new apartment building was going to be my recovery residence. You will regret it immensely if you do not tour Turning Point first.
