We delivered our first babygirl here, and the doctors and nurses have been great with mommy and the baby. The nurses come as soon as they are called, unless they are tied up with other patients, and are very generous and helpful. The nursery has helped us a ton with us being first time parents. If you’re local I would definitely recommend this facility over the other local hospital we have here in Gadsden.

This place felt more like a prison to me. It was filthy. The floors where we eat weren’t cleaned at all the week I was there. Some of the MCTs were not nice and really didn’t want to give you the things you needed and asked for. The Dr would come into your room with 5 other people and they are all looking at you. It was intimidating and humiliating. The dr would ask you about 2 questions and that was all the therapy time you got with him. There was no talk therapy with anyone. The only thing nice I have to say about this place is that some of the nurses were awesome!!! Haley especially worked very hard to make sure you had everything you needed!!!

I have been to this facility both for inpatient and outpatient procedures routinely since moving to Alabama to live in 2015. Overall, this facility is what I believe is a top-tier facility. The staff that works with patients are all first-rate and care deeply about the patients ease and comfort. Although, it is obvious that they are short-staffed at the present time, all the staff I have encountered worked tirelessly to make sure I was well taken care of. On one particular inpatient stay on the 7th floor, a tech stayed late past her shift to give me a bath because I had asked for it and she had not been able to get to it previously.

I received the highest level of care from the lovely labor and delivery nurses, anesthesiologist Ken, and Dr. Maesha Twyner. The ratio between patient(s) to care providers is superb. There were nurses for our child and myself. Even the sweet lady with braids in nutrition was thoughtful and gave us what we needed in the days and nights we were there.I didn’t know what to expect since it’s my first child and I was scheduled to be induced; however, the nurses and doctor was so reassuring I felt very comfortable with the process.Ken was gentle and precise, I didn’t even really feel any discomfort with my epidural.Dr. Twyner is a gifted physician. Her composure was very reassuring and I understand why she is highly sought out. She is caring, gentle, and brilliant. After our child was born, the 24 hour delivery nurses took over and helped me transition to the next step and that was to nurse my child. They provided me with encouragement and direction. I was elated by being a mom but nursing is a whole new concept for me. The incredible nurses provided me with a rocking chair and privacy when needed. At every turn, our needs were met and anticipated. I would say this was a lovely surprise since I almost chose to deliver in Birmingham due to a poor communication with one nurse in Women’s Health Partners. I am so glad one of admissions manager made me feel that I can trust them with the delivery of my child. It’s amazing how one person can affect your entire view of a health care provider team. I must say that since my hurdle was rectified, my confidence was rebuilt.Kudos for the hiring team of Gadsden Regional and Women’s Health Partners. Overall, the staff were phenomenal. If you feel like you may not feel all the bells and whistles of love and care at WHP, I can certainly say that the Labor and Delivery Team of Gadsden Health Will more than compensate for that TLC.I hope they do finish the post delivery rooms for new moms because the facility is in terrible state. The rooms are old and maintained poorly. There wasn’t a space to place your soap or shampoo. The shower heads could have been easily replaced at Lowe’s. It was pouring terribly on one direction and when you have an IV treatment, there is no way for a person to manage the shower head flow. The bathrooms in that section was definitely one star and a half due to its presentation and ease of getting in and out. The doors were too heavy to handle and the main door in our room sticks. The delivery suites however, were at a great level although it may not be new. There is space for dad to eat and sleep. The bathrooms were larger and more thoughtfully designed.Level of care received 5 stars and that is based on 4 nights and 5 days of stay. I resided in Los Angeles, California prior and I’m comparing my medical experience to Cedar Sinai.Thank you Gadsden Regional Labor and Delivery team! You all must be commended for having such generous hearts and loving spirits!

Went to the ER with severe chest ,neck and jaw pain. Got called to triage pretty quick then it all went down hill. As I sit in the waiting room crying in pain. I told the lady at the desk (she was very nice) that I need to see someone or tell me what I needed to do just to leave. She called the back and said give them 10 minutes and the doctor would see me. 35 minutes later we got up to leave a nurse came out and said in 15 minutes the doctor would be out. They called me back to a triage room the doctor came in and said if you stay you will see one of our cardiac doctors I said thats fine I just want to know what is going on. So about 30 minutes pass they move me to a room in the ER. A nurse puts an IV in. 45 minutes or so later I get a nitroglycerin pill. In the middle of this they took blood ,EKG and chest xray. Well the lady that goes over insurance comes in and says Ive been admitted. So a doctor or nurse doesnt tell me this the insurance lady did. Then a couple hours later a nurse walks by the door and says are you ready for bed? I told her I was ready to find out what was wrong with me and get out of pain. I explained that heart disease runs in my family and I was worried. She tells me she can do nothing but give me another nitroglycerin pill. Then I find out I will be in the ER for who know how long because they have 10 to 12 more patients waiting on rooms. Some of them have been in the ER for 2 days. I never found out anything about the next. I got up and left . Went to a different hospital got great care. I have a lot of inflammation in my chest. Go to Birmingham DO NOT STOP IN GADSDEN. If they cant treat you why are they still taking patients? I

However they should rethink the hiring process for security most of which were great but one female in particular has a nasty attitude . She even sent her boss to my DYING fathers room which she already knew to give me a talking to because her precious feelings were hurt.

I was intensive care for 6 days. During that time the nurses that took care of me were wonderful. I had Justin for three of the six nights and he just really stayed on top of everything I needed. The nights I didnt sleep, Justin was extra attentive to make sure there was everything I needed. My other nurses were Seth, Brooke, and Dylan. They gave great care. I was pleased with the facility. The promptness in which I was admitted. I came from a scheduled procedure to the emergency room because my blood pressure was extremely low. 67/31. The reaction that I received on the nurses realizing how low my blood pressure was was extremely quick, efficient and professional . I was immediately placed on oxygen and a central line or as I knew it, a PICC line, was immediately placed in my neck. Great attention was given for sterility upon placing the PICC line. Im sorry I dont remember my doctors name in the emergency situation while I was still waiting for my procedure. If I could I would praise him also. Thank you Gadsden Regional. For taking a tough situation and making it as easy on me as you could.

My stay was productive... A few tests identified some heart issues that seem to be on the road to correction..Nurses were professional and seemed to take an interest in my well being.Food quality was above average.. having spent my fair share of time hospitals over the last 30 years... Meatloaf needs work.. seasoning is something your cooks should work on... Main issue with meals was quantity of serving sizes and timing of meals.Bfast at around 8 am... lunch At around 1230 or so... Then dinner as early as 530 a few times.... That leaves far over 12 hours until bfast the next morning.... For a 53 year old man with a healthy appetite that is far too long... Yes the nurses station had some cereal and snacks. But another full meal would be a very very good idea.Communication was good for the most part.. I had a few issues with Drs not giving me direct answers to my direct questions.. that did get worked out once I became a little more insistent on wanting answers.... but I think that should not be needed...You might want to make sure the patient is full awake and knowing was is happening before those 4am blood draws... Waking up to a needle in your arm is a very unpleasant experience.

I didn’t think it possible for a hospital to not be shuttered while being so dangerously, carelessly and incredibly notorious for providing the most appalling treatment of your post-op patients that are so negligently unattended at the absolute most critical “life or death” time when a patient requires constant supervision and attention. It’s clear that GRC could care less about your “less than” patients that can’t speak for themselves by the way that I have witnessed your medical staff ignore your helpless, sick & elderly patients, incapable of feeding themselves at times whereby I witnessed your personnel refuse to push their food tray within their reach - let alone feed them which, sums up Gadsden Regional’s overall attitude that’s interwoven throughout the entire company.

My wife called me three times Saturday she called me five times Sunday shes already calling me four times five times today told me that she is ready to leave she is aware of her surroundings all they do is give her medicine that makes her sleepy and she refused the medicine today because thats not the problem I dont know what the problem was the problem is there is no consideration to my emotions my needing to know and they are keeping her up there for the money. Thats what I believe it is being discriminated because of financial reasons. My parents in Texas mother being a retired librarian and teacher and Dad retired army in their 70s are questioning me and not believing the treatment I am getting and the treatment that she doesnt want as far as being drugged. I believe there was a health issue not a psychotic or a mental problem but shes being kept on the 6th floor as a mental problem. So my mother informed me the next step may be legal advice since I believe were being discriminated and shes being held and being cut from me and Im being kept from her for reasons unknown. I hope everyone that reads this has some kind of sympathy because apparently no one that I have contacted hasnt had any because they havent contacted me except for the finance department and if anybody reads information on the site for the hospital patients are not patients they are customers look into it youll see it. My wife just called me again I told her that apparently I ran out of character space on mine so now Im on yours baby I love you Im going to call up there and ask to talk to your caseworker because I left a message with the nurse up there for her to call me and I havent heard anything but youre coming home where you belong around surroundings that youre familiar with not with people that want to keep you drugged up for some reason because if they cant give any answers they have no need for you to be there because if this goes on anymore I will be there by your side not as a patient but as another customer. Corporate America lives in the medical field.. sympathy empathy caring love... This is life this is how it should be but unfortunately the mighty Dollar rules all and if they can get one more person hooked on medication thats what its going to happen and thats not what my wife and I live for. Oh PS I never did hear from a doctor just one case worker they gave me 10 minutes and One financial department person they gave me the same amount of time that also said I think my coworker mailed out your charity paperwork. And I do believe saying I think means that you dont know so you shouldnt think because she thought wrong and today is another Monday and no paperwork from the financial department for the charity help has come so everyone out there you tell me is this the way of keeping her up there. Being discriminated financially to keep my wife prisoner and as my mom said I cant believe that this hospital is operating this way and Im just one person my heart is still waiting to be reunited with my wife

I waited over an hour to be called backed while other people were called ahead of me.Once I was in the back, my nurse thought I was there for a headache, which explained why I waited over an hour to be seen. I explained my stroke symptoms and history of heart disease again.I was admitted to the hospital to be treated for my apparent stroke. I was told if I wanted to take my night time medications, I needed my husband to go home, get them, and bring them back to me. Several tests, including blood work, CT, and MRI were ran, but no results were given. The next morning, I passed a swallowed test in order to be able to receive a meal, but lunch and dinner never came. When I asked about being fed, I was told my husband could go get me something.Around 8 pm the nurse walked in my room and said, your going home. I left the hospital with discharge papers that are entirely blank. No instructions. Just a diagnosis of having a TIA, mini-stroke.I left the hospital with more questions than I came with. The next time I have an emergency, I will take my chances and go somewhere else even if it takes longer to get there.

Im going to start off with this job description- Emergency Services Director directs the staff and programs of the emergency services unit. Develops and introduces approved standards and guidelines for emergency service programs. Being an Emergency Services Director ensures quality care for patients.Lydia Higgins new ER Director as of late May 2021.She called Dr Martin... time 12:15am- Dr Martin came in asked me the reason I was there- she then proceeded to ask me a series of questions that suggested my reason for being there was not valid even though I hadnt been triaged yet- if I had a Dr, when was the last time I saw my doctor, what did my doctor say the last time I saw her, what medications had my doctor prescribed, etc. These questions had nothing to do with me being in the ER and was a waste of my already wasted time with Lydia the newly hired Emergency Room Director who just resigned from Riverview hospital.Arrival 11pm- No triage even though I was in triage. Lydia turned her badge and refused to give me her last name. She had Dr. Martin Im assuming(she was called over the intercom for Lydia @ the exact moment this all occurred) come in to do her job as she couldnt handle her responsibilities and needed assistance. Once Dr. Martin left Lydia dismissed me without a wristband or taking vitals. I asked her to take my vitals- her response have a seat back out in the waiting room and Ill get to you when I can. I went back out to the waiting area, proceeded to take pictures of the nastiness in the area, Lydia made it her business to notify security, especially about me getting her information. She put more effort into this than doing her actual job. I let it be known I was leaving as I had not been fully triaged and I was treated very rudely. The waiting area was so nasty I couldnt sit there without wondering what type of bacteria I was inhaling( I have lupus an auto immune disease this hospital knows nothing about). I put it in my mind since Im feeling severely ill Id go to GA as the hospitals there may have a long wait time but the care after the wait is exceptional.Lydia Higgins told me to leave when I asked for her name and badge information. She said that is a violation of privacy yet I could pull her information up online(I did... I got her name before she turned her badge over). I told her Im not leaving Im here for a reason and I need to be triaged. She literally opened the triage door and told me to leave. She was on her phone, triage door was closed as she had another employee in there goofing off, I knocked on the door on two separate occasions and was ignored even though this was triage and triage is there for a reason. I notified the charge nurse- Lydia deliberately took her time calling me as she was very rude once I was in the same tight space as her. I asked to speak with her supervisor and she raised her voice while replying I am the supervisor. When a person flips their badge over, refuses to give you their name, reports you to security, call for backup to help with their duties in a non-busy time, asks you to leave, refuses to triage you... theyre hiding more than just a badge. My experience at this hospital every visit is less than 1 star. Stay away, also pull your medical records the nurses enjoy putting remarks in there that are not true and only of assumption.

My stay at GRMC became a wonderful experience in spite of being there for open heart surgery. The Staff at the hospital from the housekeepers to the surgeons were the best folk Ive ever encountered. I am writing a letter to the hospital naming the specific staff and their many acts of kindness towards me. Each and every one sped my recovery along. I do not have the space here to pay tribute to everyone I came into contact with. A dreadful, painful ordeal became a blessing for me. Thank you all for giving me back my life.

I used this hospital for the delivery of my older children (12 & 8 years ago) and I wasn’t very happy with my experience. This was the closest option for delivery with this baby (my 6th) so I reluctantly chose it. My experience this time was amazing tho. I had some GREAT nurses and the doctor was very good too.

I have, personally, never had a bad experience here. I have had two children here, two surgeries, my wife had 3 surgeries here and we were always treated well. Its a hospital so it is the last place you want to be but if you had to it is the place you want. I always go here if possible when the need arises. Again, its a hospital so usually there for the worst reason at terrible times but the staff, professionalism, and friendly environment have always made it bearable. I always recommend this hospital over any other in the area.

I have been a nurse for 30 years and now after my experience in Gadsden regional I would not even take my dog here. I came in with chest pain. I was made to wait in the ed of a day I awating room for over 6 hours. I was then placed in a storage closet with no access to oxygen or suction or telemetry. I was kept on a hard transport stetcher even when they moved me into the ed for over48 hours. I saw a nurse practitioner that Day. When I finally saw an MD HE PEEKED inTO MY ROOM AND DID NOT EXAMINE ME. A CARDIOLOGIST FINALLY CAME TO SEE ME 48 HOURS AFTER MY ADMISSION. THE NURSING STAFF HAD NO KNOWLEDGE. THE DOCTORS BLAMED IT ON THEY ARE NEW GRADUATES. They were even trying to discharge me before I even saw a CARDIOLOGIST. If the md doctor Warren even tries to bill me I plan on reporting him to the board and I am considering bringing a law suit for lack of care and competence. Do not go to this hospital. 😐

Dr. Jamil and his “Team” can’t do one small thing like getting him to sign a return to work notice for me. I am not sure at all how they have “helped” me. Waste of five days of my life with them. Not to mention how much loss of double income I suffered. Thank You for everything which was nothing. Forced to submit to an unnecessary X-ray in the GRMC which I pray is completely covered by insurance. By the way, may I have my own life “Team” from GRMC

This is the best local hospital there is. I was fearful, anxious, and nervous I had kept ignoring a problem I was having. Finally my children would not hear my protest and took me to the emergency room.We were met at the door with a wheelchair at the e e door. I was still hesitant, the waiting room was full but within 2 hours I was taken back and seeing the doctor. He was great ask many questions and gave me many answers. He calmed me and assured me I was in good hands. I was put in hospital and treated like a queen. I had the best nurses. All very caring helpful and understanding. Nothing ruffled them or bothered them or ever seemed to be to much to ask.In this time were everyone is selfish for their own health and happiness. These people are true Heroes and Heroines!!! My nurses most of all .They are the ones dealing with patients, their familys and all the stress, worries, and fears that are amplified in these days directly onto them.Plus all their own journey of life waiting at home. To Jordan, Jorden, Ashley and all the others that I cant remember their names. (SORRY) My tects,Scott Morrison foods, the wonderful ladies that came in and cleaned my room. Cleaned up my mess and me a grown woman. Yes everyone of you matter. Please dont ever think you dont. More than just showing up and doing your job, your smile a nice word.It all matters its not forgotten. My heart, love, and respect go out and prayers up to you and for you. Thank You all for your kindness and care❤🧡❤

Worst care ever. Wrong information placed on my chart that I was a suicide risk, I was never ask any questions all of the information was placed in by a nurse without asking me anything trying to rush through her job then I was placed in a isolation area with no television no service for my phone or an outside line to speak to my family for two days I was never offered any food the first 24 hours I was there or drink I had to request to get a Cup of soda and I informed her the nurse that I’ve been there 12 hours with no food or drink she said she would give me a sandwich box. she came back and said they were out brought me some crackers and a little cup of peanut butter it was the next day before they started administering any kind of medication they would not even give me. IV fluids when my family called to check on me they were told I was fine I couldn’t breathe it was the worst experience I could ever imagine for anyone. I was there supposedly and under the pulmonary care to which I never saw Kaleem he was on the hall but he never came to see me after two days of being on a gurney I requested to leave.

Last detailed post I left detailing problems that are ongoing was not posted. To be continued...ok. continuation. I believe I got the same generic response that everybody gets when theyve had a bad experience. So to continue. Timeline: 3/26/2021. My wife was admitted from ER due to actions related to delirium and was losing memory. ER Dr. Chris informed me blood tests came back normal ..asked questions and told me I would be contacted in a few days by my wifes Dr. To let me know of her placement.whether if was going to be there or a facility with psychiatric care. First time for either one of us to come to this hospital. It was Anniston or Gadsden. Gadsden was reffered to me by a friend who said they would better. 3/28/2021. I took a two page letter outlining her moods and actions leading up to her worsening condition. As well as any information I could give about her medical past which is only 6 years thats how long weve been together. I left it at the information desk in the main part of the hospital for them to deliver to the floor that she was on. I was not giving the floor that she was on or a room number. I waited Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday and finally Friday morning I got a phone call from the hospital. It was her caseworker C.C ? who informed me that she had been out the past week sick. she asked me a few questions. questions that I gave her answers to in the letter that I took up there. 10 minutes went by and she said she had to leave to go to some meetings with some doctors. I managed to ask her for a phone number so I could contact her before she hung up on me. She gave me the phone number to the floor that she was on which she did not give me the floor or room number. Wow this is hard. So a friend of mine took me up to the hospital so I could drop off a small refrigerator magnet that had pictures of her and I from our wedding day and a couple of other days for the nurses to hopefully interact with her so she didnt forget who I was. Again I let this at the front desk. The lady at the desk asked me what four she was on I told her I had no idea I didnt know her room number her phone number nothing. She called the 6th floor and my wife was there so I left. Because I knew I wasnt going to be able to see her. So after a week of being pushed towards emotional distress from not knowing what was going on with my wife. literally an empty shell brokenhearted. 5:00 Saturday the phone rang and it was the hospital I answered it expecting to hear a nurse or the caseworker but it was a voice that asked me Jon? I couldnt believe that it was my wife she said my name twice then asked me to come get her please with despair in her voice I told her baby I will be up there as soon as I can I am on my way. Of course once again at the information desk asking to speak to somebody in charge of that floor face to face. That didnt happen my wife called me again while I was down there I told her I was trying to find someone to talk to and they werent coming down they were calling me. It was the male nurse in charge of the floor William Turner so I proceeded to explain to him the events of the past week that Ive been put through and I can tell him his voice that his eyes were rolling. Then proceeded to ask me if there was anything he could help me with and I said yes some information about my wife shes called me two times already and she hasnt been able to tell anybody anything in the past week the only people I heard from was the financial department and that was the next day after my wife was admitted. He said I dont know what katherine is in for. So I said I just wasted all that time explaining for you or to you for you to tell me that. Then he said he couldnt give out any health information about my wife unless I was a legal guardian or a caregiver. Okay I can understand that she may not have been able to tell anybody any information this past week but legal guardian Im her spouse her husband and Ive been left in the dark I am 49 years old. There was no response from him so I said well I can call her cant I?

I went into the emergency room to get help with my anxiety and depression. I waited. 3 1/2 hours in the waiting room, even though this was priory set up with an advocate. Then another 3 hours in a room before I was sent up to my preheld room, so I could get some help. When I got to the floor I was asked all the same questions that I had already answered 6 times and when I complained I was told that they didnt like my attitude. At 11pm I was allowed to go to bed without anything to eat after I had told them I was hungry and came to the hospital prior to dinner hours. In the morning I was left to my own devices without any clue as to what their schedule was, what was going on or what I should be doing. After I talked to the RN. and we discussed a medication change I had a bit more of a clue but still felt really lost.On the first day I was cold in the day room and asked for a blanket, that I was given right away and then told I could only have it in my room so thats where I went because I was cold and was not allowed any other option. I spent most of my days in my room just to stay warm. The food was not good at all and there was not enough of it. I ate everything they gave me and i was still hungry all day, every day, my complaints fell on deaf ears. The beds were so uncomfortable that I didnt get much sleep and even went so far as to sleep on the floor one night so I could get some rest. There is no physical activities for patients to do, so we spent all day sitting or laying down. The end result in all the inactivity was when I got home my feet and legs were so swollen I could barely walk. It has been 3 days since I came home and my feet and legs still hurt. They were supposed to help me find a psychiatrist for follow up appointments, because I was having a hard time finding one during Corvid19, that did not happen so I still have no one who can help me with my medications. Over all if you need real help, find somewhere else because I felt out of all the people I met during my stay only 2 really cared. I felt like the rest were just there to get a pay check and go home.

When my Maw Maw got sick, we chose Gadsden Regional. Let me just say, that she got excellent care. During the week that she was there, on the 6th floor, all of the staff did everything they could to take care of her, my Paw Paw, and all of our family who came in to see her. I came in after work one day to see her, and they were giving her a blood transfusion. Her IV was leaking, so they needed to start another one. She was very difficult to start an IV on. The director of the floor, Maria Adderhold was in the room, and was personally trying to get an IV started. To me, that was a wonderful thing to walk in on. A director, that cares so much, that she was in there doing that. I would highly recommend GRMC for your healthcare needs.

I was recently in Gadsden Regional M.C. (10-30-2019) for 10 days, for heart by-pass. I was so impressed by everyone here, I can’t say enough. All the staff, and I do mean all the staff from the wonderful ladies that cleaned my room , the ladies that brought my meals, the guy that took me to X-ray , and the nurses that took great care of me day and night. My mom, 88 yrs old, was here from Tampa, Florida and she was impressed by the staff, and she usually is negative about hospitals. And the staff in the ICU, I just love. I just want to say Thank you.
