Dr. Maxey is patient and thoughtful. He does a great job of listening and working with his patients to create a treatment plan. He is open to discussion and focuses on the least invasive options first. He’s a great doctor and great person!!!

The staff is great.Dr. Maxey actually listens and comes up with a plan that you can both agree on. Hes compassionate, caring, and makes you feel heard and truly cared for. He explains things so they are easy to understand. He truly understands what it is like to be in CHRONIC PAIN every day of your life. If youve got pain, he will find a way to get you some relief. The best part is he LISTENS to the patient and asks you what works for you and what doesnt. He doesnt push unnecessary procedures on you, which is also nice. You will not be disappointed!

Dr. Maxey is unbelievably amazing. He cares for his patients and spends a lot of time with me, every single time I come in.He cares about not just your medical condition, but what is going on in your life, because that relates directly to how you feel sometimes. He has worked with me to switch off of medications that I don’t need anymore, and find alternatives that work much better without the negative side effects. He is the best Doctor I have ever had. When he moved here, I followed because I wanted ONLY Dr. Maxey.

I have been a patient of Dr. Maxeys for years now and no doctor compares to him. If you are legitimately in pain and need help, this man is outstanding! He has given both me and my mom our lives back. His assistant, Joyce is AMAZING! The entire staff are the best and they are busy, but its because Dr.Maxey is the best and has a lot of dedicated patients and he takes time to listen and formulate a plan with you. The wait time is not long and worth it to have such a stellar doctor and human being truly helping people regain their lives.

Dr. Maxey is in one word EXCEPTIONAL. He takes the time to listen to patients and is intentional about creating a plan that will work to maximize your quality of life and/or improve your pain completely. After 5 years of unrelenting back pain and multiple surgeries, changing to his office got my life back. He cares, he is kind and I consider him to be the best of the best. Please look no further than Dr. Maxey. His medical assistant Joyce is also top notch. They all go FAR out of their way to provide the best possible service to their patients. During my last hospital stay following a 360 back surgery, Dr. Maxey took a call to help the hospitalist on his day off. He has an unbeatable emergency line and his demeanor puts me at ease. I trust him completely and genuinely know his priority is the care of his patients. If anyone I knew and loved was in need of pain management, I would be sure Dr. Maxey was their only choice. There are no other words to thank him for all he’s done for me, managing my issues and giving me back my quality of life.

I, unfortunately, have chronic pain that required my seeing a pain specialist. It is very difficult in this state to convince a physician that you are not drug-seeking. It took me years to finally acquiesce and admit that I needed help while living in Silicon Valley, my home. I feel Dr. Maxey trusts me, monitors me closely, and treats me like the adult that I am... not as a street drug addict. I am 70 years old, and I expect a certain degree of pain to be with me for the rest of my life. However, with Dr. Maxeys help, I can at least have quality of life and diminished pain. I highly recommend Dr. Maxey and his staff. Having been married to a physician for 15 years, I know what a good physician is and when one is not. In my opinion, he is a good physician who has your best interests at heart. In this day and age of the FDA, the AMA, and the DEA breathing down his throat, looking for any missteps, he has a lot on his plate. I understand, as best I can, the careful way he must practice his specialty. I am very fortunate to have finally found him and his thoughtful staff.

If you are a single parent with primary custody or someone that has a tight schedule do not go to Dr. Maxey, he is always late. He has forgotten my appointment times leaving me sit in a room for 30 plus minutes and has been more than 2 and a half hours late for my procedures. Every time that I have seen Dr. Maxey he always starts with “I am sorry I am late”, and I can’t tell my daughter “Sorry I was not able get things done or ready for you because Maxey was running late”. I do not plan out a whole day to come and see him. I was there 11/26/18 and the doctor was late yet again and I had to get to work, I have dead lines and saying “Maxey was running late” won’t cut it. So, I silently and calmly left the room and left the office when he was fifteen minutes behind and no tell how long he was going to be this time, and yes, I was early for my appointment, I am never late. Not that it matters but I passed a kidney stone that morning and still there early. The office then goes into “TEXAS DRAMA” like seeing the first snowflake or seeing rain on the highway. I called to reschedule and the doctor wants to talk to me and of course I have not received his call. So, he can’t even use my scheduled time to call me. Make excuses to be on time not excuses to be late. The staff that answers the phone and sets appointments are the rudest ever! They would fit in very well as the DMV. That where you feel you are at when you call or are there. A smile and a greeting I guess that would be extra, she is so freaking mean just looking.I went to grad school and the teacher locked the door when class started so I wonder how I the world did he pass medical school. There is no customer service here which seems to be their policy. If I get a call and this matter is resolved professionally and respectful to my time that has been lost I will honestly change this post and share what has happened.

Dr. Maxey was very compassionate and caring when I went to him for my back pain. I didnt want long-term pain meds. I just wanted the pain gone! We talked about alternative things I could try (hypnosis, acupuncture, etc). What actually worked for me was a video by Dr. Sarno. One of my clients told me about Dr. Sarnos theory of the mind-body connection and pain, and my back pain was completely healed. I havent had pain in almost a year now, even though my physical therapist said I would deal with this throughout my life. When you have something wrong that lasts a long time (my back pain lasted over a year before being completely healed), you see many specialists to try and get help. Some of them are more compassionate than others.Dr. Maxey took his time during our visit, and I felt like he truly listened to me. I almost cried with the relief of being with a specialist who actually cared and had compassion for what I was dealing with. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing pain control. And I also highly, highly recommend Dr. Sarnos books about the mind-body connection. I couldnt believe it when the pain was just gone. Truly amazing.
