Dr Hopkins performed my hip surgery. From the time that I encountered him and his staff (especially Mia) I felt like I had been welcomed in not just as a patient but also like a family member. The demonstration of care, professionalism, knowledge, wisdom, and personable bedside manners that they extend are unlike any other experience that I have encountered from a healthcare provider. If you or anyone that you care about are experiencing hip or knee complications, in or out of state, I would recommend Dr. Hopkins. You will not be disappointed.

Its been a little while since Dr. Hopkins replaced both my knees and my right hip, but after running across his name, I had to write a review. He is very caring and professional. He never made me feel rushed and answered all my questions. We moved to E. Texas not long after my second knee replacement. I was shocked to hear people here taking up to six weeks to be back to normal after knee replacements. I was back to normal within days from my surgeries. If I needed another surgery, I would definitely make the drive back to Dr. Hopkins. Ive already recommended him to one friend. Love the staff, too.

This office obviously deletes unfavorable reviews....so I will post again. 14 months ago Eldon Hopkins replaced my knee. I told him from the beginning, after replacement, that my knee hurts all the time. I went to his office shortly after the surgery-(witnessed by a Physical Therapist) and he told me I was lying and faking my knee pain. He accused me of not doing my at-home physical therapy and told me I was lying about that. My knee would not bend, was swollen and stiff and very very painful. He cut off my medication. I told him I resent him calling me a liar. He then lost his temper, snatched my file and told me to leave. He is also very arrogant even being condescending. Fast forward, two years later, while still being in constant pain, yesterday Jan 5, 2021, I went to a different knee specialist (because Hopkins fired me as a patient). My new doctor took a x-ray and it disclosed that the replacement is loose as me knee makes a clicking noise when moved from side to side. Since my knee pain has been for 14 months, I am sure he was totally inept in his surgery. Bottom line is is that I have to have REVISIONAIRY KNEE REPLACEMENT next month because of the defective surgery and the amount of pain I am in. I recommend this person to NO ONE. If Mr. Hopkins wants to apologize and realize he screwed up, then I will take this post down. If not, then this truthful account of this unpleasant experience will stay posted.

Dr Hopkins is a wonderful physician. My experience with him was life changing. My hip replacement was successful and the surgery went extremely well. Dr Hopkins is very cordial and extremely proficient. He had a great desire to improve my health and thoroughly reviewed what needed to be done in order for the surgery to be a success. His surgery team was also amazing. They kept my family informed every step of the surgery process. I highly recommend Dr Hopkins!

Today, June 17, 2020, is my 1 year anniversary since Dr. Hopkins has performed my bilateral hip replacement. This wonderful man has given me my life back. I can finally drive my Corvette! I cannot thank him enough for doing such an amazing job. I had 4 hip surgeries before meeting Dr. Hopkins in an attempt to preserve my natural hips but all 4 failed. I did not want to have a hip replacement at 32. I was bedridden for 2 years before I met Dr. Hopkins. He genuinely cares about his patients. He is amazing at what he does. I highly suggest if you are experiencing pain in your hips or knees, please make an appointment.

Words cannot express how happy I am that Dr. Hopkins performed my surgery. I had BOTH my hips replaced in August 2019 and I am now pain-free, back in the gym, and getting stronger than ever. His bedside manners are exceptional, but I was most impressed with his knowledge and patience. He has a special way of not making you feel rushed and spending as much time as needed to ensure all your questions/concerns are answered. I HIGHLY recommend him for anyone considering a hip replacement.

I was refer to Dr. Hopkins after a botched right hip replacement.Dr. Hopkins took his time to listen to me about my hip issues after surgery then examine and review my chats showing me the issues at hand. He then advised me of my options and which is the best recommended path I should take. Once I decided I was going to do the revision hip surgery with him the next visit we went over in detail the my surgical procedure. This is week four and recovery is going well and still to this day Dr. Hopkins is still engaged with my recovery and is going above and beyond in my well being. Thank you Dr Hopkins and his wonderful Staff and the PT that works with my recovery treatment. It has become a rarity in this day and age to find a doctor who still has those humanistic traits.Note: I will be doing my left hip revision with him...

In 50 years of seeing doctors for regular visits and follow up, I receive the best care possible from Dr Eldon Hopkins and his staff. The office staff is always caring and concerned, they never act like you are an interruption to them. And Dr Hopkins is fantastic. He tells it the way it is, doesnt sugar-coat things. He is informative and concerned and ready to discuss your condition, citing options. He is very professional yet caring.

I am a tough case...let me start off by saying that. Dr. Hopkins is a genuinely caring orthopedic surgeon, and I truly believed him when he said he would stick with even though for many reasons, he backed out of a surgery he had originally scheduled me for.I believe he meant to stick with me, however the ball was dropped after one Cortisone shot, which was like putting ointment cream on a body covered in 90 percent burns. I get it. It was the only thing he could do at the time. However, I went back to see him about 2 months later, and all he did was flat out refuse to do surgery on me and offered me nothing else. Do not get me wrong, I DO NOT WANT SURGERY...but wanting and needing surgery for something out of socket are two different things. I have a complicated disability. My body parts are different. I understand. But I am also a patient in excruciating pain. That pain has seriously affected my everyday life and my familys everyday life as well, and I am in no way exaggerating. He even told me that surgery may not even fix me, but I think he is missing the entire picture. While he says that a procedure isnt entirely necessary (even though he was raring to go on my initial consultation), the body part in question STILL NEEDS TO BE FIXED, and I think it was a complete cop out for him to turn around and say such a thing after agreeing that I needed surgery to begin with. Pick an argument. Do I or dont I need surgery? Just because you saw opportunity there, and then realized that I was a risk, doesnt mean that MY problem has gone away.Im not necessarily upset that he couldnt or wouldnt do the surgery. Again, I understand. And he is a nice man, for sure (thats why I gave him three stars and nothing less). I am upset that the ball was dropped and I was simply forgotten. I was never even offered another Cortisone injection, and probably never given another thought as I left his office for the last time.He promised he would follow up with me, and like almost every other doctor I have ever seen in regards to my disability, he broke that promise. I know its nothing personal and its all just business to him, but after all I and more importantly, my FAMILY have been through, it does hurt on a personal level for me...and theres one other thing he failed to tell me, and that is, that I am worse off if my situation goes on being ignored. That something HAS to be done, and I was strongly advised by yet another doctor, to get a second opinion.Im not necessarily excited to get a second opinion. I am gunshy. As I said, I dont want surgery, but on the words of the last doctor I saw (the one that said I should get a second opinion), it sounds like something NEEDS to be done. What that is, Im still not sure, but I know that the way things are going, Im in trouble if I dont do SOMETHING, and that I do need some serious medical guidance. For patients who have less complicated bodies, Dr. Hopkins is the man you SHOULD see, but for people such as me, Im not so sure. On a business level, Im not trying to hurt Dr. Hopkins, I just want others to know about my experience, in case they have special circumstances as well.

Dr. Hopkins is a very skilled and well respected orthopedic surgeon. My situation may be unique, but still needs to be reported so others can at least ask the appropriate questions when scheduling an appointment. I believe much of my problem with Dr. Hopkins can be traced back to Medical City which is the hospital he is associated with.I had a cortisone shot from Dr. Hopkins about 6 months ago in his previous location. It went very well and I felt comfortable using him as a doctor. When I went to see him at his new location, I had to wait an hour to see him since I was double booked with another patient (with no other patients in sight). He set up a cortisone shot for 7am in two days. He took me on an emergency basis before his routine work began, for which I was grateful. Medical City had me down for a general anesthetic (for a cortisone shot!), lost my medication list as well as my history chart, and told me to be at the hospital 2 hours before my appointment. After several hours I finally got it straightened out. On the day of my shot just before I was leaving for the hospital, I called Medical City to see if I could take some apple juice since my blood sugar was low. They told me Dr. Hopkins had sent them an email the night before cancelling my surgery and if I came in, I should just go home. I called Dr. Hopkins’ as soon as their office opened up, told them about the problem and they said Dr. Hopkins would personally call me later that day. I got no call. Finally, six days later I spoke with their office manager and was told Dr. Hopkins and tried to contact me the day before the surgery to let me know about the cancellation but couldn’t reach me. I had no calls from him on my cell phone that day or after. This could have been handled much more professionally and left me frustrated to the point that I had to find another doctor.

Dr. Hopkins is excellent. He performed a hip replacement 8 years. Two years ago there was a problem with the ball-socket function--had nothing to do with him, his skills, or hospital. ( Erroneously, we think replacement parts should last forever--but like car parts, they dont; and, too, we forget that every patient is different. In a month he will operate on the other hip which was replaced 15 yrs ago by another orthopedist (who no longer takes my insurance). When Dr. Hopkins saw xrays 8 years ago, he expressed concern about it and over the last few years I have had increasing pain. I rely upon him to work his magic. Although usually there is a wait to see him even with an appt, once with him, he gives the time and attention as though you are the only patient he will see all day.
