As a thyroid cancer survivor, I beg you not to go to this doctor. I went to her a few years ago after my PCP and ENT wanted me to see an endocrinologist. They had done nuclear testing and biopsies on the nodules I had that were growing. They wanted to work as a team and remove my thyroid to be safe. She glanced over the notes and dismissed me saying “We don’t remove thyroids because of nodules”. I felt defeated. I went back to my PCP who, who was floored…and who called my ENT herself to talk to him about removing my thyroid. Shortly after, he removed it…and a few of the nodules were malignant. It was spreading and her dismissive attitude put me in real danger. My ENT said he would not refer to her again. I was so upset that had I been in possession of my cancerous thyroid I would have gone to her office and thrown it at her. She has the same negative reviews due to her dismissive nature fr a reason. Do your research. You are your best advocate.

Changing from a 1 star to a 4 star. Why? Calling and taking accountability for their error goes a long way. In addition, they said they would credit me for the preauthorization and found a cost savings for me.Previous rating was 1 star. Charge me for a pre authorization that takes 5 mins and still wasnt done when I call 6 days later.

Either they are under paid or or dont give a damn. If this is the way handle patient then I have to change doctor.Front desk staff is totally unprofessional.l

I was a patient of Dr Dhawan and I am actually trying to come back to her. I had a Insurance change and had to find another Dr. I really loved her and her entire staff. Also Mr Neil was always nice and worked with Me when my insurance didn’t cover something. Very accommodating office. I am surprised of all these negative reviews....She actually saved my life I was being over medicated (thyroid medication) and she noticed right away from doing blood work got my dosage right and I started feeling much better within one week! Looking forward to seeing you guys again soon Dr Jasbir. :) Mrs T Bailey

I have experienced the same problem; not once but three times. She refused to prescribe my diabetic medications and insulin which I have been using for more than a decade. She will not sign the PX request from the pharmacy which was sent to her 4 times. I left a message with her front office girl (who is always making fun of patients) 4 times and told her I needed that over the long weekend. I had a scheduled appointment to see her in the next 2-3 days. Yet she refused. When I went to pick up samples, she made it a office visit and charged medicare for that. That was not an office visit and I was only there to pick up my samples. Similar incidents have happened before. I fired her yesterday. I asked for my medical records and was refused until I would pay for it. First it was $ 25.00. Ten seconds later, the cost is $ 1.00 per page and so it would be hundreds of dollars. I have report her to Texas Medical and to Medicare. I also intend to sue her for fraud.

I am so happy I finally switched doctors. For months I had been requesting my prescription to include more insulin because my pump (tslim) is pretty wasteful and there were multiple times I had to buy insulin from Walmart because I ran out before my prescription could be refilled. I thought she had finally listened to me, but I kept running out and thats when I realized she changed my prescription from a 30 day, to a 40 day. So even though I was getting another bottle, I was still running out. What a joke. I ran out of insulin last month and it would have been another TWO WEEKS before I could have gotten a refill. I called the office and the guy that answered said they would not refill anything until I came in. Even though I had an appointment scheduled in two weeks that I had to get moved due to work. I was in tears trying to find insulin and the doctor that I had been seeing for YEARS could not care less. She also denied my thyroid medication refill. The last time I went in they gave me Fiasp insulin to try. I asked multiple times if it was safe to use with my pump and was told yes dont worry. A week later after my site was leaving horrible rashes and I was getting ketones from running so high, I finally called T Slim and they let me know Fiasp has not been cleared to use with my pump. They obviously do not care that deeply about their patients. Luckily I was recommended Dr Lakhian at the Endocrinologists of Dallas (Plano location). It is a night and day difference. One my first visit they gave me enough insulin and thyroid medication samples to get me by and guaranteed they always prescribe just a little extra to make sure I dont run out. PLEASE keep looking for a doctor that listens to you and works with you, and stay away from this office.

I need a prescription refill and was told she would not authorize a refill unless i come in for a visit (she has been prescribing this medicine for 5+ years). So i have called 5 times over 5 days (crossing over a weekend) without a single return call. The service is very poor and i would recommend looking at alternatives

I switched to Dr. Dhawan after having a bad experience with another endocrinologist. My first 2 appointments were fine. I got a phone call today from a person in her office telling me to decrease a medication that I am not even on! When I told the person on the phone that I wasnt on that medication she paused and said that she would let Dr. Dhawan know. As my doctor, shouldnt she know that I am not on that medication and shouldnt the person notifying me at least double check my chart before calling?

Ive been going to Dr. Dhawan for a few months now, and she is thorough. We joke that I cant go near the building before someone sticks me. We are working through a series of issues and shes always made sure I clearly understood everything. The doctor is also very personable and caring. The front desk staff can be a bit trying, but I trust this doctor completely.

Every time I come here I have the first appointment of the day and yet I still end up waiting 30-45 minutes to be seen and then another 15 to get blood work. They also don’t let you know that the doors are unloaded to the office and it is pitch black so you have to keep walking up to the door every 5 minutes until your scheduled appointment time just to see if they have finally unlocked the doors. Poor service all around.

Ive been her patient for over a year and I have no doubts that Dr. Dhwan and her medical team are intelligent and capable people and are doing a great job. I havent had any problems with the staff. The doctors and nurses are easy to reach out to in case of questions, and they return phone calls within the same day or at the end of the day.The office manager is a great guy and he works very hard to maintain order and keep up with the heavy workload. Like any other human being, they have good and bad days but they do a great job despite how stressful it can be. I give him thumbs up for that.Overall, Ive been a happy client and would recommend.

I love this Dr. and it saddens me to have to find a new doctor because the front office ( her husband ) wanted to harass me over my copay which I have had a credit card on file for over a year. He talked to me openly in front of other patients and made it seem like I was a deadbeat and didnt pay my bills. When I called back he was not sorry for his behavior and was happy to let me go as a patient that had good insurance ( United Healthcare) and had no issues previously regarding billing. I understand its a business and he is there to handle financials but there is no reason to shame people out in the open.

Not a positive experience. If this practice tried as hard to take care of my medical needs as they did making sure they were paid things would have been different. Two days without thyroid meds and one day without insulin due to incompetence. They charge for formulary exceptions. Instead of telling anyone they just did nothing until I called to check. The insurance co declined the request after not hearing back from the office in a timely manner. When I talked with the dr she wouldn’t take any of the responsibility but made excuses. Would not recommend.

I dont understand the last post because I had a very different experience. She is first and foremost a professional and a real straight shooter who tells it like it is. Lab results do not lie. She may seem indifferent, but her bedside manner is not to be politically correct. she will tell you what you are doing wrong and will let you know how to fix it. I myself may not like the results of my labs but she has no problem letting me know that she is disappointed in me. I would rather have that then the typical yes person who is killing me slowly.

Absolutely Terrible!!! I was harassed by the office manager for payment even after the front desk confirmed my HRA account through my insurance that morning. The office manager actually came into the room while I was waiting on the doctor . While I was having my blood drawn the young lady from the front desk came to ask me if the office manager spoke to me regarding payment.. While checking out the confused front desk lady asked for payment again. I explained that they will be paid twice if I pay them but again I was harassed for payment. The doctor seemed fine. Unfortunately, I spent more time trying to explain insurance benefits to her rude staff and being harassed for payment so my overall experience was AWFUL.

She brought my A1C from a 10.7 to a 6.7. This doctors knows what she is doing. I started to go blind and she put me in the right direction to get my vision corrected. I dont understand how people are complaining about her lack of euphemisms and her not sugar coating everything. The reason she acts the way she does is because she cares and people need tough love sometimes. I would probably be dead if she didnt give me the reality check that I needed.

She is a decent enough physician but honestly I always feel like I am cattle being rushed in and out of her office. It is not always the best experience going there because the front office staff is absolutely and completely horrendous and rude. I cringe every time I have to look at one of their salty faces. They literally look like there sniffing dog poop every time you walk in there. There are much better Endocrinologist out there and trust me when I tell you I will find one besides this one. To top it off, today I dropped off a full copy of my lab report from my primary care position that were obtained during my yearly physical. They wanted to charge me a $50 co-pay for her to review my labs. Even though she didn’t draw them, she is following my thyroid levels but she can’t review them without being paid. That’s absurd.

Most ridiculous experience I have ever had. During the insurance issues I was having the office manager just left for an hour, its obvious he doesnt care about his job or the dr patients. They dont want to deal with some insurance companys I guess so they want to charge you for full visit. It got worse when staff got involved. When I was finally able to speak to the office manager he told me they do this because of certain demographics. He should read the definition of this. It relates to a certain group of people. Everyone can read this differently but to me I read this ad prejudice, I dont believe in that. Has the dr goes who knows, she wanted no part of it.

Absolutely horrible doctor that charge the insurance company for Diabetes Management without actually managing it - they clearly do not review the chart backlog prior to clients revisits but still charge for it. They charged me for a visit but denied my refill prescription for insulin - which i found out late and had to have my primary physician refill it for me. When you bring these things to their attention you do not get past the receptionist to discuss it with the office manager. When I called to talk to them the receptionist said I wasn´t in their database so she couldn´t help me (?!?!) - I told her they clearly kept me in there long enough to bill me and my insurance company... I am truly surprised that this is a medical office, or doctor, still licensed - or connected with any insurance. It shouldn´t be. Oh, and by the way, on my first visit the Dr asked me if I could please leave a online review for her - and when I mentioned that on my last visit and said, I should leave one now - because she had a REALLY bad attitude towards me due to the fact that I questioned that they hadn´t been reviewing my data (especially since SHE was the one insisting that I get on two, expensive, electronical devices in order to manage my diabetes better and they charge for that management) - she totally flew off the handle and said ´we are done here and cut off my visit. ...reading the other reviews it seem overcharging and bad attitude seem to be a theme there. Yes, of course, they still charged me for the very same visit...but denied my prescription. Stay far away and find another professional!
