One can only imagine the pain staking task to find a new home for your family that first of all does not want to leave their home. So finding the right spot was very important to us as our Mother and Sister lived in our house for 31 years. We knew they had to be someplace they would be happy. There like little apartments with all of their home furnishings around them. But let me be the first one to tell you we couldn’t be happier we found the Parsons House. Beautiful home like setting. Parsons house has all levels of care. They will watch and take care of your loved ones very closely. As well as a staff whom has become their surrogate family and genuinely cares about both of their well beings giving us the family tremendous peace of mind. We did hang on for a little while but when we saw how things were running smoothly and the caretakers were becoming like family to them we backed off.It was a very difficult decision to leave your beloved family members that you have cared for soo long over to someone else’s hands but when we saw the excellent personal care they were getting it got easy.My sister loves the activities Karen the director plans all kinds of different things for the residents to do. Takes them out on outings. Goes to the Casino and Botanical Gardens. As well as lunch outings.Robin Payne the Director is awesome and will take care of all of your needs. She makes the residents feel like family. And for the holidays The Parsons House is decorated better than my house as well as the other holidays for the year. My mom goes to exercise and loves the food. (Unbelievable because she was a great Polish cook).Bridgette overseas the medical and will address and inform you of any issues she see brewing. Her staff will also take note of the resident’s behavior and wellbeing and keep us informed. So if this can be of any help to future family members that are making the difficult decision on where to put their family members please offer this letter to them or give them my number for a personal referral.Best of luck to you with your aging parent. Blessings! Jill

The Lodge at Quail Park is a good senior living facility but not so good for assisted living. The food is great. The ambience on the main floor is great. Most of the staff are pleasant. And the entertainment is great! Unfortunately we were looking for an assisted living facility that would provide additional care for my father and mother. The Lodge said they would provide higher levels of care for the same locked in price as they became necessary, but I dont see this happening. My mom has minor memory issues and doesnt remember she is diabetic, incontinent, whether she has brushed her teeth, showered or washed her hair. The staff per her care plan is suppose to provide cues and assist her but if mom says she isnt incontinent because she cant remember, the staff rather than coaching her, considers this as an elderly persons right to refusal, and walks away. Texas is very different from other states when it comes to the health and wellbeing of their dementia people. My mom is incredibly easy, cheerful and if she is reminded that she needs to wear Depends or cant have 12 ounce of processed orange juice for breakfast because shes diabetic, she obediently obliges- but its easier for the staff if she forgets. Also my dad tends to look out for his own interests rather than my mothers, so there is no one looking out for my moms rights. Evidently in Texas, the husband is still allowed to get his way. For example, my dad will tell the aids to leave his soiled Depends in the large open trash can for days at a time and the aids listen to my dad instead of emptying the trash daily like they are supposed to. The carpet is filthy from urine and the stench is unbearable. I dont think the shower, sinks or counters get scrubbed nor the furniture dusted. Also the facility doctor seems to over prescribe medicine. When a nurse was recently questioned about all the blood pressure meds my mom is taking, her response was, yes, your mom is taking a lot of BP meds and her BP is still not under control! Its not very logical. If the meds arent working, it would be better to find the right meds, not give her three powerful meds that dont work. Same with her diabetes meds. Mom is always exhausted. Is it the meds? All in all its a great place for elderly who need shelter, 3 meals a day, medicines delivered, and entertainment. Unfortunately often so much more is required...

See fire department and ambulances in the parking lot with their lights on every so often.
