I have been going to UTMB at the Alvin office for years. I could not get an appointment this last time so I decided to go to the Friendswood facility. I seen Dr. Shah for a simple Annual Medicare Visit which is 100% free for me. Later I got bills for a so-called second visit. I did not ask for was never told about this extra visit. These people are dishonest and are double billing Medicare and their patients. I will never use UTMB again for anything!

Ive had constant issues with this place. I tried a few different doctors here and started getting multiple phone calls a month to make an appointment...during a pandemic... in order to get my prescriptions when my doctor specifically said I only needed to come in at a specific time during my last appointment. They ignored that and kept calling several times a month, even when I had made an appointment in their system for another doctor. These prescriptions are things I will be taking for the rest of my life, and there is no reason to go in several times a year, especially with a global pandemic. Overall several employees were rude, but I can say I really appreciated the lab nurses. They had a great sense of humor and good bedside manor.

It’s a great place to go if you have 2 hours to waste waiting to be seen .

I don’t normally write bad reviews because I feel like people focus too much on the bad versus the good but I couldn’t just let this one go. I have never been more disappointed in a doctors conduct than I was with how Dr. Shah at UTMB Friendswood Pediatric and Adult Primary Care treated my husband yesterday. I made him the appt so he could get established with a PCP, get a wellness check, and discuss our concerns with his blood pressure. From the moment he got there, he felt so not welcomed and uncomfortable. The staff and nurses he said were great but Dr. Shah made him feel like he was inconveniencing her with how she was rushing him and speaking to down to him. She made him feel like he was wasting her time because he didn’t have “something specifically wrong with him”. He told her he has congestion all the time and had to reassure her it wasn’t COVID, that he’s just trying to get lab work done because he hasn’t in a long time, and that his blood pressure is of concern because of it being elevated/high all the time. Because he didn’t know the exact readings at home, she told him “well if you can’t tell me what they are at home how am I supposed to help you?” To which my husband basically told her “if you can’t help me figure out what to do for it then I might as well be the doctor”. Sorry we don’t have them written down and sorry my husband doesn’t remember, but that should be no excuse for her to write off not creating a plan of action to work towards our concerns. On top of all of this, her charting is so unprofessional. She didn’t let him finish the paperwork with family/social history so it says “not of file” when indeed there is family history of blood pressure issues and her visit notes are very demeaning to my husband when all he was trying to do was take the first step to bettering his health. Dr. Shah didn’t give him any advice on plan of care, just left the room and had her nurses finish the visit and get his bloodwork done. She really needs to work on her bedside manner and if she was having a bad day, don’t take it out on a patient!!!

Dr. Sierra has been my daughters daughter since 3rd grade. She is an amazing Doctor!! Since 2017 my daughter has a new Doctor bcuz shes an Adult now. The first 2 yrs same Doctor was seeing her, that Doctor left and went to Methodist. So for 2019 my daughter has another new Doctor. Its now 2020 and time to see this Doctor again (so far her Appt has been rescheduled twice)...so hopefully she gets in this month. This Covid-19 just doesnt make the experience any better. So my daughter started at that Office at 8 yrs old, she is now 24 yrs old!! Still have hope in this Office Location as long as Dr. Sierra is still there!! I know I can always request for her to consult with other Doctors about my daughter if my daughter & I are not comfortable with that Doctor!

I went in today as a first time patient cause I’ve been having some stomach pains and issues. I did not go in expecting to have to get an X-ray and blood work done. I absolutely hate getting my blood drawn and I was totally unprepared and dehydrated from lack of water today. When I was about to get it drawn I felt very sick and lightheaded. April and Angel in the lab were AMAZING. They talked and made jokes to distract me from what was going on, and even gave me a water bottle, apple juice and candy to try to get my blood sugar level up so I could feel better. I decided to push through and get the blood work over with and they were super kind and helpful the whole time. I recommend going to this location because everyone who I interacted with were so nice and helpful with any information.

I normally dont write reviews but this is the first time Ive ever encountered such a lack in organization and patient scheduling. To make the long story short, Ive taken my daughter twice to her scheduled visits only to be not seen both times. She only needs a 2nd round of vaccination and a booster but its always some sort of excuse that it couldnt be performed that day. There is a clear disconnect between the Sheduler & Doctors/Nurses. I gave this place a shot but now Im willing to drive an hour away to go back to my daughters original Pediatrician.

I have chronic UTIs that despite all efforts and rule following, I still receive. When I went to a doctor here asking about any preventative measures beyond what I have already done, she shrugged her shoulders and said that stinks. There is nothing. Maybe you are built to get them a lot. Go see a urologist.Waste of $90 I dont have after all the lab fees to get the medication necessary for the UTI. If I could get a refund for this visit, I would.

Let me start by saying that the doctors and nursing staff here are quite good... When you can see them.It is next to impossible to get a timely acute care appointment. The practice has taken on too many patients, and its a fight to get an appointment within even a week at times, let alone something that day.

Dr. Khan has completely lost sight of the fact that her patients are also customers. We needed her to fill out a simple Plan of Care form for our 92 yr old grandmother so that her new community could administer her medications and it has now been over a week and we still have not received it. And while the ladies who run the office were understanding, twice I was told the nurse supervisor would call me back and she never did. Now the clinic is closed and there is no chance the form will be sent now. We are beyond frustrated with this clinic and will be reaching out to main offices to rectify this situation. I would give them zero stars if I could. If this is the kind of service they provide and how little they care for their patients/customers, I worry about the rest of their clientele.

Dr. Mann and Erika Schultze , FNP are awesome! They both really care about you as a person. If youre looking for a PCP, choose either one of these ladies and youll be in great hands. If you need a doctor for your little ones, Dr. Sierra is definitely the way to go. She is so sweet and knowledgeable. A great place for the entire family!

Most UNORGANIZED doctors office you could ask for they just hand me handouts when I express my medical concerns and tell me to read them. Go anywhere else and don’t excpect call backs about blood work you need to do your own calling and bothering to get results.

Set up appointment through UTMB site. Later called for my race as a “security” question. Really? I called back because I was driving and put off by my race being required to confirm an appointment I scheduled from their site. When I called them back, suddenly my Doctor’s not taking new patients. OK, so I am willing to take the available guy. Then I am asked my race again. I say multi-ethnic and the guy seems confused. Then he asks my religion preference. When I question that he says it’s for things like blood transfusions that some religions prohibit. I tell him I have no religious objection to transfusions. Then he presses me again for my religious preference. I’m done and cancel my appointment. After I made it clear thatI thought requiring answers to these questions to set up an appointment as being overly invasive, they continued to press.

While I lived in friendswood myself and my family used utmb as our doctors office, scheduled appointments and so on. I have been recently struggling with some health issues for the past few years so I decided I needed to schedule an appointment. To my surprise they told me it was all growning pains and it was nothing to worry about. Now I live in California, and things have gotten so Much better. The doctors at this utmb take your money, they dont help you, they tell you all the same thing that theyre helping. The doctors at the utmb are horrid, thieves. They give false information, and in return they rob you. Dont go to this disgusting business, your money and time is best spent somewhere else.

Just said I never heard of them. You need to go to another doctor. Ive never been treated like that by any doctors office in my entire life.

UTMB isn’t bad but don’t tell people that you open at 7am when it clearly shows on the doors that you guys don’t open til 8am. Was told I could come in at 7am so I can get a copy of my immunization records just to find out that nobody is here and the door shows 8am. Even the website shows 7am. I’m disappointed.
