Doctor John P. Heine is a great person and Doctor. It is very pity that he is retired now. Last time I had met him in Nov. 2017. I asked him not to retire. He performed a very successful operation to me, and I will remember Dr. John Heine to the end of my life. I wish him long and happy life. 11.27.2018.

My experience with Dr Heine was, simply put, very relaxing given the circumstances. I love his sense of humor and his candid approach to his specialty. He was extremely accommodating and made room to fit me into his busy schedule with very short notice. Those complaining about his bedside manner need to stop being so uptight ;)

My husband was given a virulent infection because Dr Heine did not follow medical procedure andPrescribe antibiotics before and after a biopsy. Also other doctors found advanced cancer and a tumor that Dr Heine overlooked. If you are happy with his ability, great, consider yourself one of the lucky ones. Dont dare to criticize a personal experience. Dr. Heine should retire.Horrible experience!!Dr. Heine has the worst bedside manner in the history of western medicine. His techniques are from the last century. He has no empathy for his patients. His good ole boy manners are indicative of the type of care he does not give. He just makes you think he knows what he is doing. His office does not even have modern communication technology. He told us he would talk with us the following week and then we found out he was on vacation. This is what happened. We went to see him to review my husbands prostate biopsy and he told us well the fact is you have cancer but you will just need some hormonal shots but I cant meet with you now, lets set up another appointment. This is after we had driven from Sonoma. I asked him why he could not meet with us after telling my husband he had cancer and he said to me that he was not used to answering personal questions. We left and immediately got referred to UCSF where they specialize in state of the art prostate cancer research and treatment and they discovered a tumor in the prostate which obviously Dr Heine overlooked in the biopsy. and he had a very aggressive cancer. The UCSF team of doctors are very positive in his prognosis but they also found a virulent bacterial infection in the prostate because Dr Heine did not follow standard medical procedure and prescribe antibiotics before the biopsy or after the biopsy. It was so bad that CIPRO could not clear it so the doctors had to come up with a combination of antibiotics and it is getting better but it is still lingering after 4 weeks. Thank God we went to UCSF wher he is receiving the newest treatment available. My husband would not have survived with Dr Heines hormonal shots.
