I have been going to this place for years. The price is good and the wait with no appointment is usually short. Most of the hair stylists are long term. As for the hair cut its good. I would not say exceptional but for the price you get a good hair cut. Im male so I cant speak into womens hair cuts. Seems what they do for the ladies is far more then just hair cuts and would appear womens hair is more there speciality.

I’ve been going to this salon since 2004 for hair cut and color, pedicure and manicure as well as facials.They are super nice and friendly; their quality of work is impeccable, and prices are very reasonable.They have my highest recommendations.

Tammy did my haircut. She did a nice job at only $45 & within 40 mins.I am very happy with my hairstyle now.My hair is very very curly. So I decided to do hair straightening with short haircut.Apart from this,salon looked safe from Covid point of view.Safety measures taken by parlour:1)Cash counter guarded by glass shield2)Staff wearing mask3)Chairs in waiting zone are kept 6ft apart4)chairs in haircut zone are also kept 6ft apart.5)Staffs are sanitizing hands frequently.Safety Measures not taken:1)Chairs at waiting zone not getting sanitized after each use.2)No temperature check at entrance.My hair cut experience with this parlour is extremely fine. I gave rating 4 because of 2 Covid safety measures (mentioned above) not taken by this parlour.

I went to this place and liked their services. My haircut was done by Tammy. She is a great hairstylist and gave a new look. Also, the best part about this saloon is that they do give services for beard styling and trimming which many of the saloon don’t offer. In all a great saloon!

This place gives a very nostalgic feeling. The staff here are very friendly and you get to hear a lot of good barber shop stories. Though the wait can be long sometimes, it never gets boring. They also do an excellent job and it is not even half as expensive as other places. A must check out place.

Fast and best spa. Hair cut cost for adult is $12 ( if payment is done with credit card l, extra $0.50. weekends better to visit with an appointment even though walk-in is available. Wheelchair accessible.

I have been going to this place for three years now. Every time I get the best service. They are best at what they do.

The quality of service is reduced a lot in recent time. They spend an average of 5 to 7 minutes per customer for hair cut. They will not listen to what you say, they pick some random numbers on clipper and start doing their job. I decided to stop going to this place for my next hair cut.

Very professional salon ring by Asian women. While they do have some employees who do not follow your instructions properly, most of them do a very good job of taking care of you hair.

The first time I came to get my toe nails cut before knee surgery. I was so impressed, now it is my GO TO place. They do my nails and cut and style my hair. The salon is not only clean but quiet too, with friendly personnel tis a very peaceful place on earth.

Been coming here for about 15 years. Never once have I had a bad experience. The only place I will go to have my hair done.

I asked for chocolate with red highlights- I specifically said I did not want to look like a tiger or animal so I do not like the gold The older lady I asked to do it said she would charge me $130 we always give a 20%tip for anything we have done here, this 1 said $140. Now I have brownish greenish gold hair & a burn on my forehead & I had it done on sat it is Tuesday and this is why when she kept saying but red wont hold as long or as well I-it wont look good I had nothing to say because she just kept pushing. I was specific when I got there & left upset & confused esp. after she took to getting ready for cutting & the other employees were WOW👀 + all the workers that had to come over and tell her how to tone it down.I have pics from sat & today 😥 NOW HOW AM I SOPPOSE TO TRUST GETTING MY HAIR DONE & am I soppose to really go back there - my family is shocked at the burn & the color as well😪 My husbands first response was Uh its not red😳

The stylists here have zero personality and theyre not friendly or engaging. This place never feels welcoming and its almost like the stylists themselves dont want to work here. They dont particularly cut hair all that well either (e.g. theyre not very detail oriented, theyll leave long strands uncut around the ears, etc). I wouldnt recommend this place.

I have been going to this several years. This is my first review for them as I had cut my for just the second time with Tina (or Jeena...did not catch it correctly). This time in addition to the hair cut, I also had to keep a goatee. I was skeptical at first to ask her to do that. But then, she gave a good looking goateeTina is a star, patient, understands the requirement, repeats what you say to make sure she understands and does the right thing. She takes time to get the best hair cut. When its time for haircut, I now know where to go and whom should I book appointment with. Thank you, Tina!

Been coming to Doans Hair and & Spa for over 8 years and absolutely love it here. Vu has been my hair stylist all these years and is just awesome. He never disappoints to deliver a haircut exactly the way I like it. Weve come to become good friends and I always enjoy talking and sharing stories with Vu every time Im there. Tom and the rest of the staffs are very friendly. Been coming here for a long time so obviously I love this place. Oh and the price is unbeatable anywhere Fremont for the fantastic haircut you get.

Worst place to get a haircut. The Asian dude (doan) gave me the worst haircut of my life. He couldnt see anything and he messed up my hair real bad. He had to put eye drops every two minutes.He also charged me 20 dollars for just trimming my hair and he said because it was long hair. Dont recommend this place at all. Zero stars and I hate this place to death

I would not even give one star for the horrible facial torture I went through. The beautician who gave me a facial had a wound on her right thumb so she used a rubber latex glove on that hand to massage my face. Within 5-8 minutes I knew something was wrong on one side of my face coz I started having a burning sensation. I asked her to remove the gloves as the friction was burning my face. Then she said she wont be able to massage my face properly as she has a wound. So I told her to get someone else to do.The manager should not have assigned her on the first place to do the job coz she cannot do it properly with a wound on her thumb. So my overall facial which was supposed to be relaxed was so ruined.To top it all I had the worst eyebrow threading. . I get my eyebrows done once in 3 weeks and I can withstand a good amount of pain. It was so freaking painful that I literally cried. As I type this I have a terrible headache coz of that threading.After I expressed my frustration about my facial the manager Doan said he will give a 20% discount on my next facial. I told him I had a bad experience today so I deserve a discount today. After a lot of hesitation he agreed. But honestly if I had a customer like that I would have not charged at all. This will be my last time here for any service.I highly recommend not to get your eyebrow threading done here as there is only one lady who does it and its the worst.

I cannot believe how negative some of the reviewers are. If you come to a place that charges no more than$15.00 for a haircut, you cannot expect to be treated like royalty in a $100 per haircut place. Why do you choose to go to Doans Salon in the first place? I have been going there for at least 10 years. Of course, I only go for hair color, haircut and mani/pedi, and I try to stick with the stylist I like, but even when I tried different ones, they have all been courteous and done their best. This includes Doan, Vu, Tina, and especially my favorite, Nikki! I always leave in good mood because she does an excellent job.

I generally never write a review for any store, even if their service is not as good. However this time I kept a reminder to write a review as I want the owners to consider hiring some quality people. This is the first time Im writing a review for any store since it has been an extremely bad experience with CATHY.I had been to this place previously and got a hair cut from the owner (Doan) she did a fabulous job. Not only did she do a good job but was also very kind and informative.I went there this time to get my haircut because of my previous experience, however, unfortunately Doan was not in that day and I had to get my hair done that day so I went ahead. The lady who gave me a haircut is Cathy. Not only she is RUDE and MANNERLESS but also INCONSIDERATE of what the customer wants. She has ZERO knowledge, I went for a layer cut with a long hair, in the process of giving me a layer cut she cut off my 80% of my hair and made it shorter than shoulder level. Worse, there is absolutely no layers visible. When asked the same she was rude in her reply and never heard a word of what i said.While I was there I also heard some other employees reply similarly with other customers. If this is the way they behave with customers then very soon there will be no customers to deal with. Its my humble request to the owners to hire some quality people and not such rude mannerless people.

I will strongly never recommend this place to anybody as i have gone through the worst experience till date. I went to know about hair treatment and they kept us waiting for long time even after seeing us waiting at their counter . After a long time one guy attended us and when we started to enquire about the hair straightening treatment and he told us that right now he is busy and does not have time to attend us and give us detailed information .He gave us appointment for next day 10 am and told will discuss in detail regarding straightening.Next day when i went to the salon he suggested me for japanese hair straightening so my hair would look completely straight. I went ahead with the same paying 300 $ .While doing the japanese hair straightening we discussed about the hair wash after the treatment and he said would do it after 3 days .After my hair straightening i was asked to come after 3 days for shampoo and so i called for appointment and the counter lady told me that u dont have to come at the salon for shampoo you will do it at home by yourself .But i told her that i want to come at the salon for shampoo and thats when she told me that it is chargeable 15 $ . As she mentioned about the charges i used the shampoo recommended by them to shampoo my hair at home .After my hair wash my hair turned out to be my worst nightmare as they were wavy from behind and little straight from ahead ,my hair dint look at all as if i straighten it.Next day i went to the salon to show him my hair. He told me that nothing is wrong in your hair ,you need to blow dry after every shampoo.Then what is the use of spending 300 $ for japanese hair straightening. I told him please do something to my hair first which would look straight or if you cannot then plz give my money back in a very polite manner . And he told me that your hair is good .he was not ready to speak and he called the security and told him that we are harassing him to give money back but that was not the case , I had just gone there to seek help from him to get my hair in proper shape as i spent so much money .We left from the salon with lot of disappointment .This is not the first time i went to the salon i have been going there from 2 and half years for haircut and never had such bad experience .Would never ever go back.

Waited 45 mins .First they said 15 mins then again 15 mins more and they keep adding that 15 mins .Wasted my 45 mins and I got back.They could have said its busy , you can come tomorrow or something but they want us to wait there , they dont want to hire other employee to handle the rush , instead they love losing customers . Never ever will go there or will recommend someone .AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU R IN HURRY.
