I have sensitive skin and have used high-quality natural skincare products for years. I was delighted to find Urban Herbals oatmeal complexion soap. Its a must-have. It cleanses without stripping natural oils and leaves my skin soft and clear. I recently ordered several bars after visiting the store and gardens a few months back and they arrived quickly. If you are in Fredericksburg make sure to stop by and say hello to Bill!

Our Herb Society of America Gathering of members heard an awesome talk by Bill Varney of URBANherbal over a September weekend. What an inspiration Bill is. We just loved how he incorporates herbs into everyday living. His shop is a delight for the senses. Beautiful plants and herbal products that are extremely creative. Bills passion comes through in all that he does. Wish I lived nearer to this gem of a place.

Discovering Urbanherbal was the highlight of our trip to Fredericksburg!...We enjoyed it so much, we visited there 3 times!! Its a plant nursery, an art gallery and a laboratory where the owner mixed up some shampoo with the essential oils of my choice! Be sure to visit this hidden gem if you are ever in the area!

We were passing through Fredericksburg and decided we would pick one place to stop as we didnt have too much time. I searched local establishments on Google and I stumbled upon this place amongst a slew of your more typical tourist shops. This place is more than just a shop. It is a community space. A nature sancturay with lively gardens, a spacious green house, two art galleries (a class was being set up when we were there on dying silk scarves), a meditation sit spot, and a gorgeous herbal treats and local trinkets shop. We met the owner and were riveted by his devoted story of building and growing this land and offering it as a special space for people to come rejoice in natures delights and natural products. We bought a plant information book written and signed by the owner. This stands out as an intricately designed and cared for experience. Upon exiting, we thoughtfully walked the hand laid labirynth with abundant hearts.

This is the real herb farm in Fredericksburg. Bill created The Fredericksburg Herb Farm and is now creating Urban Herbal. More intimate. More local. More of everything. His gardens are lovely. He is creating a secret garden. He is personable. Friendly. A nationally know author. AND he makes excellent products from natural ingredients. I use the Coffee body Scrub. The smell of coffee while I scrub. Yum. The Savory Salt is figs, rosemary, thyme and salt ....makes every dish even better. Just had scrambled eggs with this salt. Do you need to hear more? Go see Bill. Stroll in his gardens. Hear about his plans to continue to grow Urban Herbal and take home some of his handmade products. You will be happy.
