Dr Carnell and staff are wonderful.Dr Carnell is a great physician with extensive knowledge and explains everything in detail. The staff is super..a live person answers the phone not an automated phone system!! Messages are given to the practitioner and response time is speedy! Cant recommend enough, aRare commodity !

Very disappointed - I have been diabetic for 30 years. I have been to many Endocrinologists over that 30 year time period. I have had 3 truly bad experiences in all that time. One being at Monocacy Health Endocrine & Thyroid Specialists. I was very happy here, until my Dr left the practice. I was not assigned a new Dr. I could even get an appointment to see one of their Doctors. I was told that the only Doctor seeing new patients, sees primary on the thyroid patients. Not to mention, that I was not really a new patient as I was their patent, and their Dr. left. Regardless of that, they couldnt fit me in with a Dr. So, I went to see the PA. In a half an hour of talking to me, or less, she gave me flippant unrealistic advice. She didnt know anything about me or my life or my history. She was young and obviously had not dealt with all that I have at the age of 50. When I called just now to ask to see someone else, they reiterated the unrealistic and flippant advice. I am 50, I dont need to be talked to like I am an idiot. Nor do I need to be given flippant unrealistic advice. I prefer to deal with my options in reality. And all my other doctors have worked with me to see what realistic expectations we could come to as a team. So - in my experience, Do Not got to this practice if you want a team to work with you, in the boundary of your own personal reality. Platitudes and Hugely Unrealistic Goals would be great if all it took was someone telling you to make them magically happen, then this would be perfect. And if that was the cause, none of us would ever smoke or be overweight or any other negative situations. But in reality, its just not that easy for some of us. We cant just snap our fingers and fix our life because a Dr or PA told us to. Perhaps this practice would appeal to a younger crowd. These are just my thoughts and experiences. I hope they help you decide if there is any chance of this practice having a meaningful partnership relationship with you as a team, where they really listen to you and what is going on in your life. I dont have that feeling anymore. (And I did write to them before this post, with no reply). Also, the reason I picked this practice when I moved here, was for the exact reason that I wanted to have access to a Dr if one of other doctors left the practice. (Which happens fairly regularly.) And now that they dont have a Dr for me to see - even that benefit isnt there. Good luck. I will be switching to a Dr recommended by local neighbors.

The staff and receptionists here are HORRIBLE!! I have NEVER been treated so badly by a medical practice in my life. I wasnt even able to make an appointment with them, thats how rude they were!! The first time I called a receptionist named Karen I believe, picked up, I told her that my gynecologist recommended I see Dr. Hakim about my newly found underactive Thyroid, she then asked me if I was a new patient there and I said yes and then she quickly said You have to tell your referring physician to send your lab results to us before we can schedule an appointment. CLICK. Before I could say anything else she clicked me off to an automated voice messaging system. She didnt ask what my name was and I didnt have the chance to tell her that my doctor had already sent my results and information to their office. So after a week of calling them trying to schedule an appointment, leaving messages and such I have given up. They never called me back and I was never able to get a real person over the phone after that. I have no idea how good the doctors are but if you cant even make an appointment because the receptionists are so rude and nasty I dont think I want to know how the doctors are! Dont even bother trying with these people they are not worth your time and apparently you arent worth theirs.

Dr. Hakim is very good, thorough and kind, although I felt that I had to stop seeing her because her practice is so poorly run. I actually tried going back a couple of times (over several years) because I liked Dr. Hakim, but gave up in desperation after trying to deal with the staff and their unfriendly practices. They do a disservice to Dr. Hakim. Its unfortunate.

I started with Dr. Hakin , and am now seeing Jinhui Yuan, I am happy with the office and never had any problems with the front office staff.

I have never visited another doctor who was as thorough and thoughtful as Dr. Gupta. I never wait more than a few minutes, and when Im in the exam room, I feel like the only patient, never rushed, always carefully listened to.

Good initial visit. Terrible follow through and staff is dismissive and discourteous. Find a better practice!
