It was great to finally go to a provider who is up to date with visual field testing technology. Dr. Jan was extremely nice and caring. He took his time to carefully examine my eyes. It was my first time at an optometrist office this small so the waiting area felt a little too tight for me. However, I had a very good experience over all. Great service at a reasonable cost.

Don’t let the fact that this doc is located in Costco sway you. You don’t have to have a Costco membership to see him, but once you see the prices on their frames you may want to sign up, if you aren’t already. The frame selection is great.Dr. Jan was personable, thorough, patient, and extremely affordable. His front desk person was polite and thorough. I will definitely be recommending his practice.

I intentionally waited for my glasses to be made before I gave a review. I can now give Dr. Jan the highest marks. He is knowledgeable, thorough, and my prescription is perfect. My prior prescription (by a different Dr at a chain provider) was difficult to get used to, and I questioned the accuracy. My prescription by Dr.Jan is perfect and there was virtually no adjustment period... and I wear progressive lenses with three fields of vision. I highly recommend Dr. Jan.

The exam was thorough. Along the way during testing, each machine for the particular part of the exam being administered was explained in easily understood language. I knew exactly what was happening. Dr. Jan found astigmatism in both eyes and applied it to the prescription for my glasses. Due to the exact nature of the prescription, I am able to see better than I have in many years. Thank you, Dr. Jan.

I am really happy with Dr Jan’s services. Everything went smoothly from making an appointment to reminders to the actual visit. I originally planned to only get an eye exam for glasses, but ended up doing an additional scan for potential health issues. Well worth it. I would highly recommend Dr Jan for your eye needs.

I hadn’t gone to Dr. Jan inside of Costco, ever!I finally read the reviews and tried it for myself! I thought it was wonderful. The doctor took her time and double checked when she took measurements or something didn’t seem quite right. The ladies at the reception desk were very efficient and kind. Then I walked out and ordered glasses. With their help I found out I wanted a change and they helped me try on no ledd than 8 pair of frames. I’ve been getting compliments all day at work! Great job guys!

I had lost both my main and backup pairs of glasses. The dog chewed a 3rd pair, so I was desperate. I only had one pair. The person at the counter told me my prescription had expired so I needed a new one in order to get a new pair. I absolutely need the for reading in the office for small print. I walked in the office and the explained my situation to the Doctor who had me fill out some paperwork. He was also doing double duty as his own admin., which was impressive. He took me right away and did the exam, he was cordial and professional. I was outta there in about 30 minutes. Ordered my new glasses and they arrived yesterday. I absolutely would recommend his practice to anyone. Very friendly as well. Id give him more stars if it were available.

Dr. Jan spent five minutes attempting to determine my new prescription. After he said he was done I told him it didnt seem right and I was told not to worry about it. The new prescription was the worst I have had. Daily headaches, the reader part of the lens was acceptable, but the distance part was terrible. This was my first progressive prescription so I gave it some time. After wearing the new glasses for two weeks with no improvement I went back for a recheck and told him no part of the lens would allow me to see clearly at distance. First he said I needed to get used to progressive lenses, then told me that progressive lenses will never be clear for distance. Well, I paid out of pocket to go to another optomotrist because I had a sneakingsuspicion he was full of it. I just got the glasses with the new prescription, they were perfect out of the box. This Dr doesnt have to worry about me wasting his time ever again. Save your time and money and find someone that cares, Dr. Jan clearly does not.

The doctor is very knowledgeable, friendly and generous! She provided a fresh pair of contacts and a free bottle of solution for me to try. This was my second visit to Dr. Jan Eye Care and I highly recommend them.

Bad customer service. My current prescription from this optometrist is still valid for months and my prescription hasn’t changed in years, but my contact manufacturer discontinued my brand of contacts. I called to get a recommendation for a new brand with the same prescription so I can finish out my current prescription time. I was told that I have to come in for a new exam before they will even talk to me. It’s not right for me to be made to pay out of pocket for a whole new exam (which will show no change in prescription) just to get a new brand with the same prescription.

Im not a big fan of going to the eye doctors, all of the ones I have gone to I feel did not take their time with me and they were not personable. Dr. Jan is not like that. He was friendly the entire time and kept the conversation going. Its difficult to find a doctor who is actually interested in what you have to say. When I got there, I was seen immediately, my whole trip did not last hours like other places. I would recommend him to anyone looking for an eye doctor!

I arrived 5-10 minutes early for my appointment and didnt have to wait at all. Office staff immediately started running through the pre-exam tests and these went the smoothest Ive ever had them go during an eye exam. I was then seen right away by Dr Hatrick who was fantastic. She listened to any concerns I had about my eye health and I never once felt rushed during the vision tests as so often happens during an eye exam. I Cant recommend this office highly enough, professional, efficient, and I never once felt pressured into buying frames in-store (most of the reason I loathe getting my prescription updated).

My 13 year old daughter came in for her first eye exam with Dr. Jan on Dec 31, 2018. The doctor was very pleasant and thorough! We ended up getting contacts for the first time. And, the staff was very patient with her during her training to learn to put them in and out of her eye...it took her 1 hr to learn! So thankful for the kindess and encouragement the staff showed her while she was learning. We will definately return and highly recommend Dr. Jans practice inside Costco in Frederick, MD

I had to get a new supply of contacts and had the pleasure of seeing Dr Jan. The staff was very kind and accommodating and Dr Jan was very knowledgeable. They were able to find me a trial pair of contacts even though I have a high prescription, and I was able to see better than 20/20! Buying glasses was a great experience as well. I will be returning here for my yearly exams for sure.

When I first came in Dr, Jan and the receptionist were very friendly. I was seen on time for my exam, the exam was very thorough. After the exam since Dr. Jan office is located in Costco i was able to go to optical where i could pick out my glasses. I really enjoyed my experience and i will be coming back every year!!!!

Dr. Jan and staff were awesome. We arrived on a Wednesday around 11 to schedule an appointment and ended up getting our exams right then and there. The both of us were out of there within 45 minutes. I ordered prescription sunglasses and they were ready that following Monday.

I went to Dr. Jans office to get my prescription for my glasses and contacts. He was very friendly and professional, and got me in and out quickly. Would highly recommend for anyone in the area and will definitely be going back!

Doctor was fine, but secretary was not too helpful in checking on my insurance vision plan. I was told I had no coverage when I actually did. She finally listened to me and processed the transaction. I did complain to Dr. Jan but felt he was trying to justify in her favor!!!

Looking at the 5 star reviews, I doubt if these reviews are from genuine users. I have been there just because of the fact that the facility is located inside the Costco and I always trust the Costco but my experience was very bad. Doctor was in so much hurry that he just completed the check up within 5 Mins. Can you believe it? I am really surprised and on top, I wasnt even give any time to question or discuss about the report.
