I had my first ever root canal with Dr. Sheats today and I have severe dental phobia (I put off all dental work for 7 years due to my fear). My main issue with dentists in the past was not getting numb enough but past dentists would go ahead with procedure anyway. Dr Sheats made 110% sure that my tooth was completely numb before he started any work. He did have to inject me several times to get it numb but that is way more bearable than feeling a root canal procedure! He was comforting, calm, and light-hearted the whole time which helped put me at ease. All of the ladies helping were gentle and sweet as well. I hope I never have another root canal but if I do I will absolutely return to Dr. Sheats office! If you need a root canal and have dental phobia, GO SEE HIM! If I made it through, you can too and it will be an amazing experience!

Something I never expected to say about a dental experience: I actually enjoyed my experience at Sheats Endodontic Group. You know how you dread going to a dentist? Thats what I was feeling on the way to get my tooth assessed. But from the moment I walked through the doors, I felt like a guest and absolutely loved the staff. They were warm, encouraging and genuinely interested in me and what was going on with my tooth. Turns out, I didnt need a root canal, and Dr. Sheats made other recommendations for me. I try to treat each person as if their tooth was my own, so heres what I would do... I so appreciated his bedside manner and warmth. If root canals didnt sound so dreadful, Id want to go back...

Absolutely wonderful experience! From the second I walked in the door I felt the warm, welcoming presence of the staff. I was examined by Dr. J. Sheats and his assistant Millie. I’m not even sure I can find the right words to do these two justice, so I will just say that I have never felt more comfortable in a dental chair than I did today with them. I had put off a needed root canal for 9 months because, you know, ROOT CANAL. Had I known how easy it was going to go I would have scheduled my appointment IMMEDIATELY. From the moment I walked in I was greeted as a VIP; the friendliness and professionalism of the office staff is top notch!And Dr. Sheats...where to start? Friendly, EXCELLENT bedside manner, great taste in music, knowledgable, and ultimately concerned with the comfort of his patients. Even sent me home for a week to address some lingering infection that kept my tooth from numbing fully. Once they got it right, he was quick, efficient and detailed, even stopping to make adjustments to get the final result JUST right. If you need endodontic work, I HIGHLY recommend you use Dr. Sheats and company; you will NOT be disappointed!

Great work with anxious teen! He needed a root canal after a facial injury and was very nervous about the whole thing. Dr. Sheats was calming, a very relaxing and educational provider, explaining what he was going to do, moving calmly through the steps to avoid further anxiety. The staff is super friendly and we were grateful to have found them to meet the needs of my son after that injury already had him shaken. We hope to never need them again, but I hope theyre always covered under our dental policy, because if the need arises, well plan to go back to this practice.

Exceptionally clean facility, very professional, courteous and knowledgeable staff. The dental assistants were well-trained and attentive. The doctor was most impressive. He took the time to deal with me as an individual and never rushed. Outstanding experience!

Dr. Jay is always thorough and explains everything very well. He makes sure you have a good understanding of your issue, how it should be treated and step by step what he is doing. I have been with him for 3 years plus now and he has always been great!

Originally, I saw Dr. Sheats, the elder, for a root canal, and loved how professional his office is. He is now in business with his children and they are just as professional and good at what they do. I highly recommend this endodontic group. They truly respect their patients. Another reason I like their office is that you can fill out necessary forms with a pen and not a tablet like most medical offices are doing these days. There are no T.V.s in the treatment rooms only a window or two and a piece of art on the wall (I went to the Nashville location.) The only bad review I would give is for their chairs. There is no lumbar support. Bring a pillow with you especially if youre going to require a long treatment, like a root canal.
