Marine Creek is a great long term care and post acute care facility that’s focused on each residents’ quality of life. We have a dynamic management team that’s committed to the community we serve. Our employees are one of a kind, going above and beyond the call to ensure that our residents and their families receive the best care. We have just completed our annual survey conducted by The Department of Health and Human Services with NO DEFICIENCIES in nursing; this speaks volumes of the quality of care we provide to our residents. Thank you TEAM MARINE CREEK!

One of the worse nursing homes. Someone needs to check how things are ran. DON is horrible and not fit for her job. I don’t understand why surprised visits are not conducted. Nurse are not doing there job!!! State needs to step in!! As healthcare providers it’s our duty to take care of patients, it is irresponsible for them to always be under staff. How are they still open?

This place at one time was good to the patients. Now this place SUCKS!!!! My dear sister-in-law has been there since she had a stoke 8 years ago. Though it is true she has some issues with anxiety, she still a friendly lady. Because they said she is at risk that she got out of the building, (although she had a monitor on her leg and there is an alarm that sounds when a person gets near it) they felt she needed to be put in lock down where the poor patients that suffer with dementia and other memory problems reside. Then they tell me she is back there because she is at risk to hurt someone. I am trying my best to get her moved out of there to another facility, but because there report, #3 facility has turned her down. What else can a person do to get her moved. If you love your family I would suggest to find other place to have your family because the facility really reeks! They dont even deserve a one star.

If you love your family, please Do NOT allow them to come to a place with sooo many heartless and carefree staff/ management. After a incident my father had, they pretty much kicked him to the curb without the family being notified and he was pretty much homeless with dementia; a seizure disorder, and other health issues as well. This was a scary time for my family, we did not know they would ever do such a thing even though we had read other previous reviews warning us of similiar situations. They also “misplaced” a few of his belongings after we had to find him somewhere else to reside. We now have my dad in another facility with more caring and concerned staff and management!

-5 stars! Don’t send your loved one here, especially if they have any dementia. My husband was there 3 weeks when I found out he hadn’t had a shower for 10 days, and had fries under his bed for a week. I finally cleaned up spilled coke myself after 3 days. And they didn’t make him change his clothes either. I tried to have him transferred to another facility, but the DON , Tenesia Hardesty, sent them away when they came to evaluate him. Then the DON and Dir. of Admin, Rodney Bishop, convinced my husband he didn’t have dementia and could ban me and make his brother POA so they could remove me as next of kin contact even though they had a copy of my POA for medical in his file. Every time I went to get him they refused to let me leave with him and 3 times I had to call the police. I had to go at 10 pm 4/17/19 when the director wasn’t there to get him out! And then the nurses wouldn’t let me in because Rodney Bishop had banned me! I have a current incident report with DADS because I keep finding out more and more.

Horrible, My mom was placed here as a last resort, before switching insurances, they stated they would start her new insurance paperwork, 3 months later NOTHING! If a resident falls, they will leave them on the floor crying! The rooms were so nasty! Exposed wires, blood stains, food stains, the place smells HORRIBLE, they do not take care of the residents letting them sit in their own dirty mess for hours, they wont change their clothes, some residents had the same clothes on for days!!! I would not even let my DOG in this facility! IT WAS HORRIBLE. The Staff has no compassion for the residents, only there to get a paycheck, One resident even told me after I let them know a patient had fallen, she stated ( I thought I was going to leave early today, with no incidents or reports, but no. now I have to stay to take care of this.)

Although I, personally, was not treated poorly. I still have my witts about me and can speak and verbally defend myself. Others who cannot arent so fortunate. I was there for four years, and for the most part, the majority of the staff are very nice, but there is a huge lack of communication amongst the different departments. They never seem to be on the same page. There seems to be no stability, as there is a rather large turnover amonst aides and sometimes even nurses. It has the potential of being a very good facility. But major changes would first have to occur for that to become reality. As of right now, I cannot recommend anyone being placed here.

My dad was moved here on Halloween last year. It took the business office manager until Wednesday of this week 2 settle the payee situation. She kept telling me that it would take 3 months at most in order 4 the facility 2 b made payee and start receiving his checks. Last week on Thursday, she told me that she would go downtown 2 the social security office and c about the payee situation. She assured me that she would go on the Tuesday after the mlk holiday. I called her on that Wednesday the next day and she said that because of visitors at the facility she had NOT done it. She lapsed in2 silence not trying 2 offer me an explanation of what her next move would b or when she would make it downtown so i continued 2 converse with her about my fathers financial woes and i just got frustrated with the exchange and told her that i would visit social security and have the money deposited in2 my dads account from now on since they act like they dont know or care what theyre doing. She said ok, indicating that she understood my intention. I went 2 the altamesa office this morning and spent nearly 5 hours there just 2 find out that she did or some1 visited the downtown office and made the facility the payee! This occurred this week on Wednesday the same day i spoke 2 the business office manager on the phone and she claimed she couldnt get away 2 go downtown. By Friday 48 hours later, it was done when i visited altamesa! So, y was i told all of this time that it would take 3 months 4 the process of renaming a payee 2 b completed? I knew that couldnt b right cuz the former nursing home never had these problems, smh. Either the change in payee was instantaneous or at most took 48 hours! Either way, the dumb and childish lies, game playing and run around just speaks 2 who these ppl r while theyre trying 2 ruffle my feathers. I wish some1 would come up with a rating system where u could give negative stars 2 deserving places. I havent done anything 2 these ppl but that isnt necessary when dealing with commerce in this wiccan nation. Overall, this facility just looks good. Our former facility was run better, until it began its eventual decline which lead us 2 depart. I wish i would have filed a grievance against this place the other month when they allowed my dad who has dementia 2 sign himself out and wonder around town on his own! They didnt even know that he has a guardian! This is another problem we didnt have at our former facility! My dad called me and that is how i found out about it! Marine creek rehab claims that they dont know who signed him out! I wouldve sued them if hed been hurt! Again, i dont know y theyre acting this way, smh! Addendum: its March 6, 2017 and this place is evicting my dad. Candance richardson knew my dad had garnishments on his check and allowed him 2 b at this facility! Now, they want him out in 30 days times stating we owe them over 4100 dollars! Im suppose 2 pay b cuz they r screw up!? Stuff like this is y CERTAIN ppl cant get ahead. We r low-income and cant pay the past due! Another home did this 2 my grandmother when she decided to leave! They charged her 4 a full months rent!P.s. (elder) care facilities such as these do give u clothing and hygeine kits but u will also have your possessions stolen from u, money and ALL. I did my dads laundry myself yet nearly everything Id bought him was gone by the time he was kicked out!
