The only place weve taken our son that listened to our concerns and helped him with his medical issues. I love Cook Childrens hospital.

So my girl friend took her daughter to see Dr.lacy for her headaches, he kept making them feel uncomfortable asking if she has TikTok and does she twerk. She is 10!!!!! Why are you asking a 10 year old child if she can twerk. Do not go to this guy.

Not transparent on price.Im being billed $271 for my sons X-ray!!!! $271!!! Just for the x-ray, not for an office visit, or any other consult.I make sure to asked at the time of the visit if they were billing as outpatient rate and was told yes. Said I dont need to pay anything upfront. Now, 3 months later, Im being slapped with a $271 bill.My son has had the same X-ray done at Envision previously for less than $100 with the same insurance. When questioned, I was told by the supervisor that Yes, if I had went somewhere, it would probably be cheaper but their price are in-line with other pediatric hospital and that price are posted somewhere. I didnt go to the hospital, I went to an outpatient radiology center. So much for transparency in pricing.

My daughter became a patient at CCH by a fluke. We were on a flight to California from North Carolina on Easter of 2020. My daughter had to be transported by ambulance from our flight to the hospital. She ended up having a seizure where she stopped breathing and went into coma. We spent two weeks in the ICU with multiple mri scans, ct scans, xrays, blood work, etc.we only had one negative experience with an ICU doctor on our first night in the hospital when he asked us if we were planning on pulling the plug if she stops breathing again during the night. Our daughter had back to back seizures on top of not breathing for almost 15 minutes that day. If I ever had to see him again I honestly would refuse care from this doctor. Even though we had that experience my rating is still 5 stars and I’ll explain that. While she was in her comatose state she saw an infectious disease doctor (to rule out infections for the cause of her seizures), neurologist (Dr. Shahani), nephrologist (Dr. Bedri), cardiologist (Dr. Dzurik) as well as multiple PT to assist with making sure my daughter’s body didn’t lose muscle movement while asleep. We’ve continued to see these doctors since she’s woken up and have found great progress in her health since leaving the hospital. She’s had to see other specialists since then and they’re helped us figure out more things going on with our daughter’s health. She wouldn’t have made it in North Carolina if she had went into coma as we lived in a very small rural area before moving to TX.

Awesome facility, very nice staff, very kid friendly. I love the child Life specialist in the lab, when my daughter has to have labs drawn they are so great with her. She always freaks out and they can get her to calm down and get the blood drawn. I drive over an hour just to keep her neurologist here. They are awesome!!

Most of the staff are cool and great at what they do. But i hate going to appointments here. If you have an appointment for 9:30am you may get seen at 10:30am or later( as i am while sitting and writing this). But if you are 30 min to an hour late you must reschedule. My child is missing school to sit in a room while waiting to see the doctor an hour after the appointment. Just ridiculous!!!

Decided to write a review after two pretty negative experiences. We had to go for bloodwork my daughters (she is 6 months old) doctor ordered at her last check up. Came straight to Dodson after her initial appt, and waited over 2 hours to be seen. Then, the tech tells me that it took so long because with her weight, they can only take so much blood, and had to talk to her doc about it. So they told me I would have to come back again for more blood later, after we finished these tests.Taking the blood was stressful and a bit chaotic. My daughter was screaming, they barely got enough blood, and she had a bruise that lasted for over a week. Then I was told one of the tests could not be performed because the blood arrived clotted, and again, was asked to come back for even more blood later.Today we went for a sonogram of her hips. I had already done pre-registration. This appt was scheduled by Dodson, in coordination with my doctor.I almost missed the appointment, but was thankfully able to make it on time with 3 of my kids. When we were called back, the nurse/tech/whoever she was automatically a little dismissive because I hadnt been able to bring anyone or find someone to watch my other kids. She then proceeded to say, She is really too old for us to be doing this. I dont even know if we can. If we had known this, we certainly would have cancelled. She has to be extremely still and I honestly will have to go ask my doctor/boss what we can even do.She proceeded to go on about how she is just too old.Listen, I am literally just doing what my doc said to do, honestly doing my best trying to make endless appts all the time. I drove all this way with 3/4 kids, paid a ton of money, and this is how we are treated?A lot of people here are friendly and helpful, but I had to say something about these experiences because I do not think they are up to a professional standard of care.

Why is it in the mondern day we are living in you still can’t be seen on time or at least close to the time you are scheduled to see the doctor? Been here now for 1 hour and still no doctor. We have come such a long way.

The truth is a huge place and with personnel trained in the required aspects. All very clean disinfected follow the protocols to disinfect at the time that the appointment is at that time, the diagnoses made by their experience in their specialization are very fast. We enter and leave quickly, the truth is, I consider it to be one of the best hospitals that I have visited.

I have twins with special needs. I went on Friday to ask for my sons medical record, they are 11 years old, since that time I have been in hospitals and the worst of experiences had never treated me so badly, I cannot be calm knowing that they do not know anything about my son after sending me with four different desks nobody could help sad that your own race is so arrogant, racist despot. (God help me, Im just a sad mother worried about the health of her children) and to think that I have to return, those in charge should give work to people who do know what they are for.
