Dr. Hey is great. Very personable. His office staff however leaves a lot to be desired. The woman in the lab who drew blood was extremely rough and unfriendly. Then, while in the middle of very compromising tests, the tech leaves to look for film. Leaving the door open! Only to return several minutes later to inform me that theyre out of film for the machine. Ill have to come back. Then, I assume it was the office manager, couldnt understand why I was upset. She was very condescending. Reset the appointment for the following week. Well, the following week rolled around...oops, we scheduled you for the next week. Ugh!!!! So completely unprofessional. I am thoroughly disgusted. Again, so far Dr. Hey himself has been wonderful. I just wish the rest of his staff was as great.

I have been going to Dr hey for about 4 or 5 years now since mid to late 2017 and I have Spina bifida which left me unable to control my bladder which I had a surgery for by another urologist and when that stoma (to use for catheters to drain my urine) scarred up and became unusable I was sent to Dr hey and was so pleased to know he knew about Spina bifida and also about the surgery I had done before. He also was able to do that fixed that as well as already had a general surgeon just in case who fixed a hernia I did not know I had all at the same time so I didnt have to have separate surgeries! And all my appointments that I have every 2-3 months since then have been amazing! I cant recommend him enough.

The whole staff is friendly and helpful. I always feel safe and comfortable with delicate issues. My wife and I had simultaneous appointments and I finished first and was able to take care of my next day follow up with her and Dr Hey right then. It saved me a trip the next day. I never feel rushed or like I have unanswered questions at his office. I highly recommend Dr Hey and his team!

We first met Dr.Hey when my son had to have surgery at MCA. He was very kind and knowledgeable, and explained everything he would be doing during the surgery. After the surgery, he came out and explained everything again. A couple of weeks later we visited his office in Ft.Worth for my son’s follow up appointment. The staff was kind and courteous. Dr.Hey was also kind and courteous, and everything went well with the appointment. I absolutely love that they are a Christian practice. The only thing I didn’t like is that we had quite a long wait. Our appointment time was 11:30, and it was 12:30 before we were seen. I don’t know if it was just an off day since this was our first visit to the office. My son goes back in April, and hopefully our wait won’t be as long. Other than the wait, everything went great and I would definitely recommend Dr.Hey and DFW Urology.

I initially saw Dr. Wayne A. Hey in November 1999 for a second opinion. A previous urologist had pronounced me free of cancer. Dr. Hey discovered cancer in my bladder and removed it before it had attached itself to the wall of my bladder. There has been no cancer in my bladder since he removed it. I attribute Dr. Heys urology knowledge and ability for me being alive today. I have been a patient of Dr. Hey for more than 19 years. I have recommended him multiple times and sent others to see him. You will most definitely be pleased with the care you receive from this Urology Facility.

I have worked with 4 different urologists as a student. Hands down Dr. Hey is the best I have ever met and worked with. He treats all of his patients with respect and shows compassion. After meeting with him once you will know what I am talking about. His office is Christian based too. His son Dr. Wayne D Hey is also a doctor at DFW and he is just as wonderful. The difference between other doctors that I have personally seen is that he gives the care he would give to his own family members and will even pray with you if you ask. Also he is great at explaining if you dont understand all the medical terminology.

At my first visit to this office I was asked to sign their financial policy form. I read it through and found it very similar to evey other doctors office form, so I signed it. However I completely forgot my 3rd appointment. I received a statement saying I owed $100.00 for a missed appointment. I called right away to ask why I was being billed. The office manager reminded me that their financial policy states that missed appointments without 24 hour notice is considered a no-show and the fee for a missed procedure is $100.00. She was very gracious and removed the fee and cautioned me to always call if I need to miss an appointment in the future. No other office I know offers grace like this.

Never in my entire life has every aspect of my interaction with an organization and every member of it been so terrible. With what they put me through I should have sued them, but unfortunately I don’t have the time or money to do so. However, I don’t want others to go through what I did, so I wish to warn others of how poorly this entire doctor’s practice is run (at all locations), and to stay away. I’ve never written a negative review in my life (unfortunately 1 star is the lowest rating I can give). The only conceivable explanations for my experience is either incredible corruption and greed or incredible uncaring and ineptitude. Due to a strict character limit, I cant share everything that happened to me. The following is the summarized version of what I went through:I saw Dr. Wayne D. Hey for a consultation on an elective surgery, he claimed to be very experienced and quoted me $400 total for the operation. The operation ended up costing me $6000. I was scheduled for wrong locations (Fort Worth instead of Grand Prairie) without being told. My 1 month post op visit was a waste because the operation notes werent turned in and the doctor wasnt there, so no one could answer any of my questions like why I wasnt healing properly, why I was charged way more than what the doctor quoted, and why my bill had an operation added on that the doctor said he wouldnt do in the initial consultation. The senior assistant Whitney during the 1st post op told me the reason the operation notes werent turned in is because the doctor went on vacation right after my surgery and wouldnt be back for several weeks (gone almost 2 months total and didnt tell me). Pam Rice (their revenue manager) refused to reduce what they were charging me because she said it would be insurance fraud, which is a lie because I was paying everything out of pocket (my insurance could only tell the doctor not to charge over X amount, until I hit my deductible). Pam tried to deny that the doctor went on vacation, resulting in the operation notes and 1st post op SNAFU, when I requested to get the 1st post op fee waived. During my 2nd attempt at a post op it took 2 hours to see the doctor, even though I showed up early to the appointment, because the doctor saw 5 other people before me that were checked in after me. The doctors office repeatedly attempted to charge me more than what my insurance said they could, and it took multiple phone calls with Pam to fix these errors, because she either didnt want to reduce them or said she would look into them but never did. My monthly payments for the bill I set up with Pam herself werent being recorded by the budgeting department. When I asked both Pam and Dr. Hey why the quote I was given for the surgery was so off, neither of them cared or wanted to reduce it.

I definitely would not recommend this place. My experience was the worst with dealing with the office Manager Pam. I called to speak with someone regarding a bill in which I was unaware of that was placed onto my credit report. She told me it was because I was told by their office my insurance copay was one amount, but later they found out it was incorrect and it actually was a hundred dollars for the copay. Keep in mind I wasnt aware of this from the start, so therefore I was never given a choice. I dont mind paying it if I was told upfront. Or I may have felt better about with the situation if she was nicer or understanding, instead she was very rude. As an officer manager you would think she would know how to speak to someone politely. On top of that she told me they charged me an extra 50 dollars for a missed appoinment that I was unaware of!! I wish I had been referred somewhere else.

Dr. Hey and staff were very professional. We got an appointment very quick and the service was great!.Update from last visit:Horrible experience with billing. You cant get them to call you back or get a hold from them. My mother has Tricare and was referred by her pcp to Dr. Hey. She paid for a visit in October and kept getting charged for it after paid in full. She was not supposed to be charged for the visit since Tricare covers 100%of the visit, but 3 months later they said her referral was incomplete, so she ended up having to pay for it. According to Tricare the facility failed to submit The appropriate referral, so she had to pay for it regardless. We never had that problem before. There is something wrong with that place.

The staff is very rude and unprofessional. Dr. Hey never spoke with me after my surgery and when I called the office after multiple attempts from my pharmacy, I was told I wouldnt be getting a call back and I could hold my questions until I had my appointment a week later with Dr hey. They had prescribed medications that counter interacted with each other and I was told I could pick which one I wanted to take. No answers to any questions on my procedure whatsoever. I managed myself until I drove over 30 miles to his office for my appointment only to be told once I got there that he wouldnt be in the office that morning and to come back that afternoon. Again that afternoon I drove over 30 miles and waited in the waiting room before someone came out and told me he would not be in that day at all. I was scheduled to come back the next morning only to walk into a group of so-called nurses talking about me and my diagnosis where everyone in the wedding ring could hear. The nurse that assisted in the room was the nurse that I had spoke to on the phone. Her attitude had not improved at all. She was supposed to take my vitals before giving me pain medication that could possibly raise my blood pressure and when the cuff read a high blood pressure she just asked me what it normally was and wrote that down and gave me the shot anyway. I inform Dr hey of all of this and his office manager but from reading the previous comments I seriously that anything will be done. In almost 20 years of nursing Ive never come across miscommunication and unprofessional people like that is in this office. Save your time and money and go somewhere else

Dr. Hey may be an excellent technical urologist, but the way he runs his practice is horrible and shows he does not care about the patient. Here is the typical appointment: Get there on time or before, sign in and deposit a sample. Wait an hour. Get called back; nurse asks questions and takes vitals. Wait another 45 minutes. A medical student comes in and asks the exact same questions the nurse did. Wait another hour. Dr. Hey finally comes in (with medical student), spends 5-10 minutes with you, acts like hes rushed when you ask questions, and scoots you out the door. Will not be going back.

I had a Kidney Stone that supposedly got blasted. One month later it was still there. I had to have another surgery unrelated to this problem. Went back to see what they were going to do about the stone but I was told they didn’t get the full report. I was told to get another CT scan now I can’t be seen until December 28th. This leaves no time to set up procedure before the end of the year. Guess what the insurance paid for them to do nothing. I will never go back. The office staff is very uncooperative and uncaring. I will let David Simonak know so hopefully his office won’t refer any other patients to them.

I visited this place for a cyst. I am insured with United Healthcare. I had to come 3 times on different days and will pay $25 every time i come in. Then the last day i was told there is nothing to worry about. Then one nurse came in and said the doctor wanted to take a sample of my saliva and asked me to sign a form and that was it. This was in Feb 2018. On my way out the lady at the front office gave me a small card with an appointment scheduled for Feb 2019. One whole year away. After 2 weeks, i received a letter for my insurance stating that DNA test was done and they were billed for $16,000. Then after few days i got another letter billing my insurance again for another $8,000. All these bills were from a weird lab that DFW UROLOGY sent my saliva to. I talked to United Healthcare and they said they have received similar complaints and they will investigate. When i called DFW urology, they said i was not suppose to see any of those bills. That is just between the lab and United Healthcare. So, they are using my info to extract money from my insurance. I told them that am done with them and that i will find another doctor. To add insult to injury, they called me 2 weeks ago and left me a message that i should come in for a scheduled appointment. I called them twice and left them detailed message that i dont want to deal with them anymore.Today, Feb 9th 2019, i open my mail box and see a letter from them demanding $100 from me for not coming to their clinic for an appointment. The letter stated i missed my appointment.I dont know what is going on in this facility but something is not right. I know i for one will fight this to the end. I am prepared for anything because i will not let anyone take advantage of people. If anyone went through similar experience with this place and is interested in a lawsuit, please reach out. We can start by contacting our congress man and move from there.I see some people started posting to defend the facility. One post even stated that they also received DNA bill but the facility inform them that the lab will take what ever the insurance pays and the patient will not be billed. But the question is why would they do a DNA test and why a DNA test cost $24,000? I know i am not being billed for the $24,000 but these kinds of insurance scams is the reason why insurance premiums keep rising. These types of practice should be condemned period.

I think he is an excellent urologist, HOWEVER he is the only physician I have ever met(my age is 65), who I KNOW has a God complex. I was referred by my primary care dr. Dr Hey convinced me to do a microwave procedure, which I doubt that I really needed, but it was my decision. The problem is I had a series of 4 appointments(3 with Dr Hey), usually morning, and he was late to see me by 1:15, 2:10 and 4:30!!! He was really offended when I voiced my displeasure on the 4:30. In his defense, he was called to an emergency at a hospital.....at least that is what I was told. One of his nurses says he always overbooks, even though the staff complains to him. He obviously thinks his patients time is not as valuable as his. When my procedure was done, I was told by the nurse that Dr Hey was not available to see me after the procedure, but I saw him twice in the hall. If you choose to subject yourself to this guy, you deserve the treatment he hands out.
