I had two separate, unrelated back surgeries within 6 years of each other. One was upper and the other, much more serious and complicated, was for the lower back. The pain was excruciatingly unbearable. Dr. Canavati was amazing!!! I have been totally pain free since 1991 and have lead a very physically active, non-restrictive, normal life and continue to do so approaching 72 years old.

Successful back surgery provided much welcomed relief.Dr Canavati has surgical skills rarely found.Highly recommended.

Dr. Canavati removed a malignant tumor from my lower back which was pressing against my spine. My wife had to push me in a wheelchair to the hospital. Tumor was removed and I am on year 5 jogging and swimming! Words can’t express my appreciation for him and staff.Mauri Bordner

Dr Canavati is great!! His nurse,on the other hand,needs some serious people skills training.This woman is down right rude. With all the complaints listed in these reviews,It makes one wonder if Dr Canavati is aware of how she treats his patients.

I have had 2 back surgeries stemming from car accident by Dr Canivati, this back and brain surgeon is outstanding, a genius, I have no pain , 72 with 5 bars in my back and would not be walking today without his surgeries, 5 star surgeon.

My long time significant other had successful, complex surgery on her neck.Dr.Canavati is an excellent surgeon.BUT.......When some problems arose after her surgery,l called his office seeking help.I had the misfortune of being connected with a nurse,Kim by name.My lady friends chief complaint was her left leg was buckling without warning,and down she would go.As l attempted to explain this,I was cut off with a derisive click of the tongue and a snotty nothing about the surgery Dr.did on her neck has anything to do with her leg!!Is that so?The initial problem she was hospitalized for was near total paralysis of her legs.Due to pressure on her spinal chord, in her neck.Unable to walk at all.So,when I was told this,I knew I had a real winner on the other end of the phone.Stupidity does not sit well with me.This idiot took the now frustrated and intense tone of my voice as yelling. I did not yell.This woman needs to find another line of work.Night watchman of a cemetery with a problem with vandals would is one thing that leaps to mind.Anywhere that she would not have to deal with anything resembling what she does now.At length, l was able to reach a professional with better,well,everything,lady friend was seen,and all came out good.What brought this freshly to mind was just today spoke with someone that had excellent results from surgery performed by Dr.Canavati.This normally mild mannered, non profane, churchy person mentioned they had had a similar run in with Kim.He also described her in strong language that I was unaware he knew.And it did not start with a B,but the next letter.Highly accurate.

He listen and explained and when youve suffer forever and someone finally listens and explains it means the world. Will be having surgery when insurance appoves so will updateUPDATESurgery want great Dr. Canavati and his staff (Diane and Amy) are amazing. Highly recommended.

Im not sure how to rate this, im told the DR. Is excellent so Im rating this only on him, but i agree with the other post, his nurse named Kim is extremly rude and should not be taking calls, i called made an apt. And the apt .got messed up no biggie these things happen, however we do not live in ft. Wayne so i called kim to talk with her about this before we left ft. Wayne i left a message plus called her 3 times with no answer, when she did answer the third time i called she didnt answer hello this is kim how can i help you. She acually answered Lori you have called 4 times DONT DO THAT AGAIN,...i was beyond in shock that a nurse scolded to me like i was her child, i told her to not talk to me like that again. Listen i know everyone is different but honestly this lady should not be working or dealing with patients she is very unprofessional to the point if the dr. Wasnt such a fantastic surgeon we would not be going there because of her.. so Kim if you read this you truly should treat people like you want to be treated... be nice its not that complicated.

Dr.Canavati is extremely thorough! If you are seeking a doctor that has your best interest in mind, he is definately the one. If surgery is needed, the thats what will happen. If surgery is unnecessary, that is what you will be told!

Dr. Canavati did two surgeries on my mother. He is an amazing surgeon. He fixed the problems and she is feeling great. My mother would trust no one to touch her neck but Dr. Canavati!!!!!!!
