My wife and I have lived here for almost three years and enjoyed every day that we have been here. The community is happy and active with diversified activities and entertainment. The amenities are unsurpassed with all of daily life requirements catered to by a cheerful and respectful staff. The dining experience is diversified and delicious with many selection options. We are experienced retirement industry administrators, we knew the type of community we were looking for when we found Discovery Village and have been happy since. This is truly a five star !!!!

My wife and I moved here after living full time at a golf and RV resort near Orlando. Discovery Village was by far the nicest, cleanest and friendliest place of the half-dozen place we and our daughter visited. They have so many activities and the friendliest staff of any place we visited. Plus, the people who live here are among some of the friendliest we have met. We order our meals from a menu and have them served by caring servers who quickly learn what we like and help see that we get it. You have to visit the Village to understand the extent of activities and quality of services. 😃

My husband and I have been residents here at Discovery Village Independent Living Community for two years and are so happy to be here. We love the friendly people here and the staff who work here are all so helpful and do a great job. They offer many activities to take advantage of and you can be busy as you want to be. The food is delicious and the service by the waitstaff is pleasant and friendly. Being close to I-75 and main shopping areas is a plus for us. The best thing is we feel safe and comfortable here.

Obviously, Ron and I love living in our comfortable apartment at Discovery Village. We’ve been here enjoying life for almost four years. Wonderful, friendly and accommodating staff! Beautiful dining area! Activities galore! Cards, art, bingo, exercise, pool! What else could you ask for in one building? There’s church services, music, trips, games, theater to participate in or not. There is also availability of transportation to appointments. Wow!

My elderly mother has lived her for a year and a half now. Prior to moving here she had ALWAYS focused on anything negative, mostly any little ache. Since moving here she has changed dramatically!! We all have not heard her this happy in the last 20 plus years since our father passed away!!! She loves the friendliness of All of the staff, the food, the cleanliness and most of all the many activities. Kudos!!!

I have been a resident at Discovery Village at the Forum now for six months. I enjoy it here. The staff and Hired Help are all warm (friendly) and helpful. The facilities are keep up and clean. I like the fact that there is only one payment and every thing is included. There are a good selection of floor plans to choose from. The amenities are all first class, they include gym, movie theater, art room, pool and other inside and outside activities. If you are unable to drive they can provide transportation to near by places. Hope to see you here soon.

I have lived at Discovery Village at the Forum Independent Living about 2 1/2 years and love it. The staff is friendly and ever so helpful. Plenty of activities to participate in if you so choose. A movie theater, dining room, library, arts and crafts, outdoor pool just to name a few. The resident community is friendly and very helpful to one another. A big upside is having a screened in porch and washer/dryer in each unit.It is also so nice to have everything in one building.

I moved to Discovery Village Independent Living approximately six months ago. I am delighted to say, I have been so satisfied with everything so far. I feel that they have so much to offer for their residents no matter what your lifestyle is like. Activities and games, that I particularly love to play include Euchre, Bridge, Wii Bowling, Arts and Crafts, Sewing, Billiards and using the pool. Not too long after I moved in, Florida went on Stay at Home status. A group of residents saw a need and organized to make face masks for the local Fort Myers community, starting with the hospitals and some home health agencies. JoAnn Fabrics was kind enough to donate some supplies and leadership at Discover Village under the direction of Executive Director, Patricia Price really went above and beyond picking up the expenses for all the supplies we needed. When we finished, we had completed 1750 masks and also made masks for all the residents of our facility and for two other sister facilities in Texas.Because we had a number of residents who owned sewing machines and liked working on projects together, Patty provided us with our own space and now we have our own Sewing Club where we can make projects that interest us as well as things like the American Flag we quilted and gave to Patty to display at the front entrance of our facility. The Church has always been a home to me. Now that I am in Discovery Village at the Forum, I feel like I have found a new home, one that many wonderful friends who are also like family to me. I plan to stay here for a long time.

Despite the fact I owned a lovely home in an active Country Club community, when I lost my dear wife of 67 years, my life became very lonely and I soon realized I needed a change of life styles. I visited all the near-by senior Independent Living facilities, had lunch or dinner at most, and had a chance to compare the variety of features that each one offered---the features we old people feel important for our comfort. Without any question, when you look at the TOTAL outstanding amenities offered by Discovery Village on the Forum, my decision was an easy one. No long term leases, just monthly rent. No big bucks upfront. Wonderful dining. A dedicated theater (not just a bunch of chairs in a big room) with movies most days. Of course, a beautiful pool, plus a putting green for us old golfers. Add in a huge slate of planned activities and exercise programs with my new family and youll know why I suggest you come visit us.

I got tired of the responsibilities of home ownership and was looking for more social activities than my condo provided, so I moved into Discovery Village approximately a year and a half ago. I’m very happy with my decision. I love my 2-bedroom apartment, have met some wonderful neighbors, am as active as I want to be, and best of all, now live a relatively stress-free life. Add on a location that is close to shopping, the airport, and I-75 and it makes life pretty easy. Highly recommended.

My late husband and I moved into a lovely 2 bedroom apartment in the Independent Living building two weeks after they opened in August, 2017. He was in declining health and the burden of home ownership was more than I wanted to deal with. Like any new operation, Discovery Village initially had its share of problems, mostly related to its on site management team.A little over a year ago, a new Executive Director, Patricia Price was brought on board and Discovery Village truly became my home. A great management team is in place, systems and infrastructure are in place and working well. Patty and her team work tirelessly to ensure resident satisfaction. There are a wealth of activities for residents to partake in, both on premise and off premise. Housekeeping services are included in the rent, any maintenance issues are resolved quickly, and the extensive and tasty menu has selections to please any palate. The measure of a retirement community is in how well they perform in a crisis and whether a feeling of at home atmosphere is felt. Covid-19 definitely qualifies as a crisis and Discovery Village has more than met the challenge. Protocols were immediately put into place to protect both the residents and the staff. Activities were modified to insure our continued safety with proper sanitizing and social distancing. The entire staff, with no exception, did everything possible to meet our needs. Bottom line is the residents were safe, happy and we still remain Covid free. Being shutdown was comparable to roughing it in a 5 star resort, in other words, it was a delightful experience.Residents are also what make Discovery Village a home. I have met many friends here who have become just like family. The welcoming of new residents continues even after three years. We are truly a cohesive community. I would like to thank Patty, Nicolle, Travis and Joel for making my home such an enjoyable place to live. Extra thanks go to Joel and his team for always finding a way to procure, prepare, deliver and serve such a wide variety of delicious meals, especially during this pandemic. I love living at Discovery Village at the Forum and my family loves that I am happy and safe.

I moved my parents in there about a week ago when the caregiving need became more than we could manage at home. So far we have had a great experience. The apartment is beautiful and the staff is keeping it very clean. The nurses are very attentive to mom and dad making sure there every need is met. Yes, I agree with the other reviews that the food service was a little slow, but seriously why not just relax and enjoy breaking bread together and not be in such a hurry. Overall I am 100% satisfied. It is such a relief for me to know that they are in such a nice, well kept place with stimulating activities to entertain them.

My wife and I moved into Discovery Village At The Forums Independent Living facility in June, 2018. We had lived in a single family home in a great golf course community, Crown Colony, in Fort Myers Moving here has been a wonderful experience. Its in a new, modern building with a multitude of amenities, really nice people, good food, and a very attentive administration and staff. The list of activities seems endless, and we discover new ones every week. And now, with the addition of Wii bowling, a brand new pool table being installed next month, boccie ball and shuffleboard courts being upgraded, near our putting green...never enough time to enjoy life to the fullest.

My mother is at discovery memory care. The staff is amazing, kind compassionate and really interested in my mothers welfare. I had hoped to keep mom at home but just couldnt and to be honest Discovery does a better job caring for Mom than I could! Lots of programs and the good is great. Hugs to them all!

I feel there are not enough staff members. The individual attention can be greatly increased, my mother looses clothes, the place never smells clean and sanitized, have only seen one time in 6 months memory exercises to enhance their aging condition. When concern is displayed they listen, but no changes occur.

I worked for this community almost a year. Love the staff love the residents but unfortunately the management team is so focused on cutting funding in all areas for care, upkeep, reasonable wages including cutting hours from the team members that really make a difference all to keep their monthly bonuses coming in that they disregard the real reason why they are there.. abd that is to make a residents life comfortable. I recently resigned because of the selfishness there. Always short handed, training is a joke and the response time when a resident pushes the alert pendant varies from 20min to over 2hrs before a staff member actually helps. Law suit waiting to happen. Sad very sad. I would not wish this place in a loved one. Just my insight. Lots of good people with good hearts but they are limited by the greed of the managers .

Total disappointment. While pretty on the outside there are many flaws throughout the facility. Elevators are always broken, food is always served slow and cold. Corporate management only cares about sales and move ins. They dont care about resident satisfaction so its a constant revolving door. Most employees hate working here because corporate treats them poorly even cheating them on their pay. Really sad because in the hands of competent management this place would be amazing and be a profit making enterprise versus a money pit and disaster. Run away fast.

My Grandmama was a resident here. I rated 2 stars instead of 1 because the place looks pretty clean and new. It does not smell as bad as most elderly homes and she thought the food was ok.The reason we moved her out was because she had a fall and when she fell she used the emergency call button. Not one worker at this place responded for over 25 minutes. Luckily her injuries were not life threatening but the employees had no way to know that at the time. It was just an ignored emergency call. She was banged up pretty bad from the fall though with 2 black eyes and other scars. I dont even want to imagine if she did have life threatening injuries. You can use your own judgement regarding your relative but we moved my Grandmama to another facility in the hopes they will provide much faster emergency responses.
