Been going to Dr Paul for years.Great physician and very attentive to details. Checking vision is an art that Dr Shahinian performs very well. His facilities are state of the art. I get an annual reminder and his staff is respectful and experienced. Selections of frames and lenses is diverseI trust Dr Paul and know he does a great job or else I probably couldnt read what I just typed.Dont hesitate on going to see him.

Dr Shahinian is incredibly professional and thorough and generous with his time. He spends ample time with his examination connecting to his patients and has an inventory of thousands of beautiful frames for us to choose from. He took care of my father for more than 20 years and myself for at least 10 years. This is not a one time review, this is a review for how well he has cared for my family for at least 30 years in total and demonstrated that same level of care and competence with each and every encounter.

Arrogant and misleading is his style. Called and told the young man the name of my insurance company. He put me on hold and came back after a few minutes and said yes they will accept this company. I drove there the next day and the owner refused to accept my insurance plan. I asked him why was I told to come? His weak reply was, I apologize. I was furious because Im 85 years old and was led on a wild goose chase. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. I would have given this place zero stars but you must give at least one star to get posted.

Just had my eyes examined by Doctor Paul this past Saturday - right before he was set to close up shop. He stayed open to accommodate me and gave me a thorough exam as I have been having some issues. One time he opened up his Westwood store on a Sunday because my elderly mother was having troubles with her vision. Cant say enough about how knowledgeable and professional he is. His experience, confidence and compassionate demeanor are an enormous plus. Highly recommend.

I have been going to Dr. Shahinian and Linwood Optical since he opened his doors many years ago. I think he is the most thorough, caring and educated eye doctor I have ever been to. He has cared for me not only for eye exams, but emergency visits as well. He and his staff are all knowledgeable and patient, in every aspect of their services, from eye exams, to choosing frames, and most importantly, making sure that Im happy. My family has been going to Dr. Shahinian for our eye care for over 25 years. Several of our friends actually travel from New York City and upstate to go there. Everyone we have recommended him to agrees that his is an exceptionally professional and caring practice. His patients come first. For example, he has stayed late to see me simply because I thought I had something in my eye. Dr. Shahinians routine annual exam is anything but routine: some years ago he saw something a little out of the ordinary inside my eye and sent me to a retinal specialist in the city who said, If this is your optometrist, youre in great hands. Stay with him; hes unusually thorough. The spot turned out to be a sort of freckle, and that praise from an NYU specialist was wonderful to hear. The equipment Dr. Shahinian uses is state of the art and constantly updated. The eyeglasses he carries are unusual and special; the staff is trained to offer real and honest guidance about what styles and colors look best on different faces. They will also order frames they dont carry. No one is pushing the expensive option, and Dr. Shahinian and his staff bend over backwards to accommodate all types of special needs as well as budgets. These are caring professionals, and the difference between a private practice like this and the chain stores cannot be stressed enough. The bonus is that you get fabulous new eyeglasses, so you see well and you look great! People are always telling me, I love your glasses -- where did you get them?
