After an initial consult with PCP for referral to see an Orthopedist, I contacted them for Pre-op clearance and was told by Carolina I needed to see a Cardiologist. I questioned this reasoning and she stated it is standard for their practice to send all PreOp patients for Cardiac clearance regardless of evidence of medical necessity. She said as PCP they are responsible for coordinating all of my care. I requested to speak with the provider and she stated the providers do not speak with patients for this and that was the purpose of her position. Which completely violates my patient rights. She then refused to provide a referral to my preferred Cardiologist (my employer) on multiple occasions. I went to the appointment of the referred cardiologist and after waiting for 25 minutes they refused to see me because I didnt have a hard copy of my referral which could be obtained via portal or faxed from PCP office. I could not reschedule as I could not miss additional time at work. This is the point where I filed grievance. I ended up paying out of pocket for Cardiac clearance. I contacted Carolina to let her know I had clearance from Cardio and needed PCP clearance. She advised she would not be giving me clearance because I did not go to the Cardiologist she created a referral for. I again argued with her for reasoning. She called me back and said to send my documents. The documents were received and she finally allowed me to have an appointment with the provider who cleared me for surgery. I received a letter stating Humana reached out to Carolina in regards to grievance. I read about how she stated that I was sent to Cardiologist because I requested to see a Cardiologist - which was NOT true. She also states that they didnt process my referral right away because the referral processing was behind. I feel confident to argue that fact since all other referrals were made immediately. She also states they eventually created the referral for the Cardiologist I requested which is another lie from her and it can be verified via portal of all referrals ever created for me from their practice. Carolina is a liar and a liability. They are contracted to save money and avoid unnecessary costs and she is violating patient rights and, in my case, has mandated unnecessary specialist care that could have delayed my care. I had my ACL reconstruction & meniscus repair surgery and contacted my PCP office for temporary handicap permit. Carolina took over the call and advised they will not provide any parking permit because they do not make surgery permits. Providers was nice. Can not being myself to call this office for any services again because the idea of dealing with Carolinas arrogance is extremely nauseating. Shes a fast talker and nothing more.** Edit to in response to Carolina.You lied to the insurance company by stating that I requested to see a Cardiologist. Why not tell them its your office protocol? You violated my patient rights by denying me conversation with my PCP. You lied about having processed the referral I was requesting. You almost denied my clearance from PCP, which is well beyond your authority, just because I did not see who you wanted me to see. Your fancy sentences about PPO & HMO DO NOT change those facts.

Carolina always takes very good care of me. If there is a problem or snag she remedies it quickly. The Medicaid dos and Donts are always changing. She maneuvers threw them with ease. Thanks again miss Carolina keep up the good work!!!!! 😊

Riverland Medical Center (RMC) became my primary care physician several years ago. Prior to becoming their patient I had been in need of medical care for many months. Their office was able to process the necessary approvals for the procedures I needed in record time. I quickly recovered and my life returned to normal. Since then they have provided my-wife and my-self to the same level of service, compassion and professionalism.We are beyond happy that we have RMC as our primary care provider. The staff of RMC has worked as a team to address our unexpected medical needs. They have been there for us 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. RMC has provided excellent advice, sincere concern and leadership when we needed them most.Bottom line with RMC is, they fight for and truly care about the people they serve. They are tenacious when dealing with the offices of specialty doctors and insurance companies. Thank you RMC for all that you have done for Kathy and me to get healthy and stay healthy.

Is there anyway to give zero stars? Because this is really what this place with employees included deserves!There is not customer service at all. How is it possible that still they are not taking patients in their facilities? Is August 2021 and the answer I got was “they have to wait until everyone is vaccinated” really? I never stopped seeing my Reumathologist, eye doctor, pulmonologist, etc during this whole year. So after trying for more than 10 times to contact them on the phone without any luck for some referrals I decided to drive there and a guy came to the door and his response was “we are too busy you have to keep calling… really??? I’m there ….please…Is this customer service??? Not at all!!! Looking already for a new doctor!

This office literally saved my life during the COVID-19 pandemic. With most doctors offices closed throughout the county, these kind people allowed for the doctors to conduct video consultations which ended up providing me with so much needed aid. The staff is always friendly and the doctors always find a way to help. Thank you!

This office is by far the best office in Broward County, the staff is so nice, they always go above and beyond to help their patients! They see patients of all ages and are very good at working people in to see the doctor. If you’re looking for a trust worthy and reliable doctors office, I really recommend them, they are just simply the best!

I am a new patient to Riverland Medical. My insurance assigned me and I called the office one day due to an emergency. Riverland walked me in without an appointment, treated me with so much kindness, and i was able to get seen by my doctor, get my prescription and feel completely at home. I usually am very anxious when it come to seeing doctors and getting my labs done but every one on staff from the front desk, the nurse, the doctor and everyone treated me with so much respect and kindness. I am so grateful with my insurance for placing me here. They also are having an event for thanksgiving where they are giving patients and the community FREE turkeys!!! i do not know of a doctors office that gives back to their community and patients. and I was so grateful to be invited even though i am such a new patient. thank you so much Riverland!!!!!

We must not be talking about the same office! I never even met the doctor who I was assigned to! In addition I went for abnormal cycles and the woman in there IDK who she is (maybe the doctors wife) she sent me to Quest in plantation where my mom works and the tests she ordered was for drugs and other unnecessary paperwork! So I was judged even prior to even being seen. My blood test also came back that I was pre-diabetic prior from being released from the EMERGENCY ROOM! Guess what they failed me there as well... I asked about a weak bladder since having my son and I begged for a referral to the Urologist who did an amazing job with me only to find out I had KIDNEY STONES! If I could rank the lack of professionalism of that clinic theyll be less than the one star given. I reported them to my insurance company in addition to being told I never came to pick up the referral when the voice mail left from their front desk said differently! I wouldnt let my worst enemy be treated by them.

Very courteous ,professional and efficient staff. I havent been to an office to a doctors office like this one for ages. I highly recommend them .The best thing that happened to me this year. Couldnt be happier with the treatment I get here. Everyone is nice and welcoming from the receptionist to the the doctors, they really treat you like family. I always come here whenever I’m feeling ill or need a check up. The young ladies in the front are very sweet. They always squeeze me in an appointment which is great. The waiting time isn’t too long. The doctors always take good care of me. I’ve read some of the reviews on here but I don’t agree. I’ll always come here whenever I need it.

This is absolutely the worst doctor’s office ever. These people are not professional; and have no customer service skills. In addition, they are not organized and will not notify their patients if the office is closes unexpectedly. Plus, they treat their patients with no respect. Please do yourself a favor and find yourself another doctor’s office.

I was assigned this office by my insurance and I have yet to visit there. Every time I call I am immediately put on hold for a very LONG time. They are not able to answer questions and say they will call me back and never do. I think the office staff dont want to work! I finally got an appointment over a month out and was supposed to get a reminder call. That never happened either. Needless to say, I didnt show up. Who wants to visit an office where the receptionist leaves you hanging on the phone and forgets about you - only every time I call!

I just called my primary doctor. And they tell me that they can not care that they only focus on medical appointments. and they are very badly spoken I do not understand how they can work like this or how they let them work has poor customer service. if there were 0 stars here I would put them. I am disappointed in this every time I call they tell me that it is not hours of operation to leave a message and they call me. but they never do it

Being a father of 5 Ive visited many doctors offices and I have never felt so happy and secure about my childrens health than I do now. The staff was very polite and patient as they registered each one of my kids and then Doctor Esparza was very courteous and professional as he took his time to give each of my children the required attention each deserved. Id never thought Id leave a doctors office and feel such a sincere care for my familys wellbeing. I couldnt be happier with the service I received and have since told many of my friends and family that they need to consider Riverland Medical Center if theyre not happy w their current provider. They are truly a blessing to the neighborhood.

Most definitely. This is the worst service ever.This place should be closed by the authorities and any license revoke.You call them and they have the worst attitude and a very bad service vocation. They tell you: This is a family business; when you ask for the manager, then the mother answer to tell you: The one who you were talking to is my daughter and then justify the bad attitude.
