Day 12 of calling trying to get help with food stamps. Call all day to be put on hold, wait an hour or so until someone answers, they say nothing and after about ten minutes they hang up. It has been 2 weeks of waiting after they “expedited my request for food stamps” and still nothing. Looks like ramen noodles and hotdogs again today, thanks DCF!

Today before calling for my over the phone interview, I was llike ughhhh Im about to end up with a miserable person that will sound super judgmental about my situation but I spoke with Larkita (i hope im spelling it right) but she was so pleasant, bubbly, and understanding. She even gave me tips on how to handle a Doctor bill that was sent to me directly vs my medicaid. I even told her she was the most pleasant person Ive ever spoken with there. Keep that same energy sis, It really makes a difference in someones day.

My wife went there yesterday. Be prepared to be disappointed with the security guard as well as everyone else. The security guard was literally like a sloth. And he wouldnt tell us where to go for a specif office until my wife had asked several times and he took her ID to check her in and he barley lifted his arm off the table to give it back to her. Such horrible people. We get better service on the phone than in the building.

What a lot of the other posters say is also my experience. The phone or office service is pretty bad, in comparison to California Medi-cal--which is a state funded program. And theres only ONE office for ALL Broward County. Its crowded and waiting times are long. Sometime all you get is voice mail on the phone. And the internet is no good for two way communication if a problem happens..The basic problem is that Florida cant help to help the poor, without a state income tax. Thats why the one office runs with skeleton crews. On the phone they sound young and some speak with a heavy accent. They dont have professional people like California.....No funding.

This agency does not care about the childs well being instead it goes by a piece of paper that has check marks, when the incompetent mother checks them off while being coached toAccomplish then the child would have been with a loving family for 16 months is ripped from them and tramitized to be returned and not have the life she deserves! They could care less about the childs well being, very sad 😭 this is a horrible situation! Boycott dcf!

Anybody who rated5 stars is an employee for them. First of all the two guys who give u a number and tell u to wait until youre called later were rude...looked and acted like they didnt wanna be there. The staff at the window acted as if i were asking them for assiatance personally. I left. Couldnt handle the rudeness. Ive tried calling to speak with a human being for weeks.... No answer...no call back. Its like theyre trained to be nasty so people will get frustrated and leave.

Terrible terrible. I received a letter to call in for an interview by a certain date. I was assigned a case worker. I called her and called her and left many messages and she never called me back. I tried calling to get a person on the interview for my phone and an automated comes on telling you to call back later. In the end my food stamps were denied. Incompetent people. This system is horrible. I called and waited 30 minutes on the phone finally after trying for a week. The person on the phone said I had to apply again. What a waist of brain matter. I dont know how these people know to put one foot in front of the other. They just dont care and they show it!

On July fourth, at about 10:00 AM, my patient requested me to call DCF to report abuse by a nurse who worked at the Forum at Deer Creek. The intake worker at DCF, closed the case and told me there is nothing to investigate, after making the report. At about 4:00 PM, the door busted open without a knock at Broward Health North on Sample Rd. Room 513. Comes in Tonya Jackson, she said pick up your belongings and wait outside. She slammed the door, and then she told off the ninety six year old patient. She asked him Why do you need help for there is plenty of help here, your help stole sixty thousand dollars, He started to cry. She opened the door and told me that I was a thief, and that she is investigating me for stealing sixty thousand dollars from the patient. She asked me to sign a investigation paper, then she refused to give me my portion of the paper. Then, Ms. Jackson neglected the patient. I have been working for him for about seven months. Later, I understood the charge she accused me of is from a previous case with a different CNA. The CNA that worked for him, worked about seven months earlier under a different agency. Tonya during the whole situation appeared to be intoxicated. My patient begged Tonya not to remove me from his side. She ignored his requests and sent me off without replacement.

The people who work there they should go back to first grade to learn how to read and and write . every other person says different thing about the same case.and they are getting payed for this. 30-40 minutes on hold if you call , then the most unhelpful person will answer..they should get a caretaker position at the miami zoo , but that would be to complicated for them as well

I was going to rate it a 2.5 but that was not an option. DCF is a good organization but career source has them by the nutts. All i need is assistance with food and my food assistance was cut off just before Thanksgiving. Ao imagin i had a attend soup kitchens and food pantrys for the holidays. If anyone has ever been you know its soups for Christmas.

I do not have the slightest complaint about this department, it is my favorite and I always go to this one for its super good service, despite being always very busy they are very agile with the procedures and always have answers for you, I always thank them in person for their good service, people expect smiles and unnecessary treatment when it is enough that they do their job well and here it works very well for me it is enough, I give them 5 stars, thanks children and families.
