Love this hospital. The nurses and staff have a built in sense of care and genuine love for what they do. The cafeteria food can be hit or miss. Some days the menu can be a real surprise, like this huge chocolate chip cookie they baked today.Edit:They are baking these cookies more often and they are always delicious and thick! Also I added some new photos of the cafeteria food and desserts with more to come because the menu does vary from day to day.

Last Week I had the worst experience at the Dorothy Mangarian Comprehensive women’s center, I was scheduled a pelvic Ultrasound for 12pm …I was told to drink 32 oz of water at least one hour before procedure. I was left in waiting room with a full bladder for 1hr!!! I paced and ask the reception person twice and the some staff entering radiology why I haven’t been call and it’s been one hour !!! I explained that my bladder was about to explode !! Needless to say I was told to go to bathroom and urinate just a little !! To elevate the pressure on my bladder , Meanwhile I had already waited one hr …I was very surprise on the negligence Of This clinic !! Not once did someone come out an apologize for the delay !! It felt like torture !! I like Holy Cross and it’s Dr’s, but I was shocked and disturb on the lack of compassion from this group …I know The lack of staff isn’t helping anywhere …But, pls remind your managers and staff to bemore compassionate , hence “ operating in the im Spirit of the Sisters of Mercy “

Went to ER at Holy Cross Back at the end of July. Went in because I was having seizure episodes and uncontrollable shaking, headaches, cramping, lower back pain and I lost the use of my legs. I am also no permanently in a wheelchair. ER doctor told me he could do nothing but give me an anxiety pill and tell me to contact my neurologist in the morning. I informed him that my neurologist was in the hospital on call why don’t we call him. ER doctor refused. ER doctor stated there was nothing else they could do. Stated they where discharging me. Now I was having 30 episodes a day, would u have discharged me with no diagnosis?Went to neurologist Dr Alameda who also did nothing about episodes except order MRI, EEG, x-ray and so fourth. Nothing showed up to explain episodes so he sent me home no diagnosis. Oh but he did tell me to see a psychiatrist. Now it’s October and the Pain Management PA is Floored that they still haven’t given me a diagnosis, so he gives me one of CRPS type 2. I have now transferred to a neurologist outside of Holy Cross. My primary Doctor Buhain doesnt work but 2 days a week so I guess I will be transferring to a new physician outside Holy. I can’t believe how Holy Cross has really dropped the ball on this one.

I wish I could give this hospital zero stars. My father went in to the emergency (taken via ambulance) for a stroke 1. He had left sided facial droop. Was in the hospital for less than two hours. They DID NOT do a CT scan on my father nor any other imaging. Per their accreditation on their website, they are a primary stroke center. The joint commission calls for certain standards of care to be taken in order to maintain accreditation. One of these being a CT, per most hospital standards being that door to CT for a stroke is 30 minutes and one was never completed. From what my dad explained to me, the stroke team arrived and completed an NIH stroke scale, and diagnosed him with Bell’s palsy. This diagnosis is usually given once a stroke had been ruled out. A stroke (ischemic or hemorrhagic) is usually ruled out by a CT and/or and MRI. Fast forward to a week later, because my dad had to have a CT done at an imaging center, after jumping through numerous hoops to get there. We are still awaiting his results as the CT is still being read, and he still has facial drooping. I wanted to speak with the CEO, so that I could discuss this near miss in provide but, upon asking for it in a live chat, they told me they could not release this information. All in all, do not take your family member here if you think they are having a stroke because they do not correctly work a patient up to rule that out. Time is brain, quick diagnosis and treatment could be life changing for your loved one.

They try to force people to do things right after surgery when you are telling them you are dizzy, disoriented and do not want to stand up. I know my body with my health issues and because weak normally I cant just start dancing around again. The way they talk to you. the demeaning tone in their voice plus unfriendless showing you their frustration and annoyed face is not professional and welcoming at all. In this hospital often and they are definitely two of your F- team nurses. This grade of 3 is a blended score based on the following:Convenience - 5Professionalism - 3.50Billing and Invoices - 0I had a health event and was admitted to the ER. The ER was a slow painful experience. ER doctors spoke to me like I was a child and yelled at me. I did realize that I was having a serious event and understood the importance.I was admitted. Treatment for the most part was okay. Most of the staff in the cardiac floor were compassionate. Some needed to find another job (but that is in every industry). They get 3.5 Stars. The Heart Clinic is the BEST! I give them 5 stars! They offer physical rehab, testing and training. When doctors and PAs in the Cardiology department do not return voicemails, which is often, Heart Failure Clinic staff helped me get my prescriptions to the pharmacy.Cardiology - A Half Star - My cardiologists PA NEVER returns voicemails for refills. The PA gets 0 stars. The receptionist changed my insurance, so I could not be seen. It took five calls and three weeks to get my after discharge appointment. My issue with Holy Cross is the billing department. Billing gets negative stars! The hospital, their in- hospital physicians, and Doctors and ER all bill separately. The billing centers are also in different states. When I was admitted, Holy Cross stated they could not confirm coverage. They were aggressive in trying to make me sign a payment arrangement. After I discharged, I confirmed my insurance was active, sent it to the hospital and began forwarding evidence of insurance to the different billing centers. It is three months later and Holy Cross Billing line still sends an automated voicemail asking me to make a payment arrangement. Meanwhile, my insurance carrier keeps sending EOB letters stating Holy Cross needs to send medical records. My bills are not being paid.I appreciate the convenience of Holy Cross Hospital to my home and Holy Cross Health offices. For the most part their doctors are compassionate and perform their duties with care. Especially Dr. Daniel Gomez and Dr. Shephaldi Malhotra - They listen to me and I appreciate them.Billing needs to get their act together.

I want to share my experience while in Holy Cross for major spine surgery this past Wednesday, February 24th.This should be prefaced with the fact that my only experience with hospitals had been as a visitor at other hospitals in Broward County. My memory of those hospitals were that things were a little chaotic and that care was difficult to find at times, so my expectations were admittedly low based on that. From the moment I walked into Holy Cross that morning, I felt a sense of calm. I was met with smiling faces at the front door and the Admissions desk.I had to spend extra time in Preop as my surgeons previous case was taking longer than expected. I believe I was in the Preop room for around two hours, yet it felt like only a half hour. I soon came to realize that Holy Cross is unique, and the people who work there are genuinely caring, upbeat happy people. Many people I interacted with are stuck in my mind, and although I dont remember all of their names, they all contributed to a very successful surgery and recovery. The Preop nurse, Trish, made the time waiting actually fun, and the energy she carries is also so calming. I remember chatting about many things, but what stood out is that I could tell she really cared about me as a person. There was also Ed, who stopped by a few times too to chat and keep me up to date. His jokes had me laughing every time he came by to check on me. The fact that I was not anxious about the upcoming surgery had everything to do with both their happy energy.Waking up in the recovery room, the nurse DJ (Donald) was by my side and while I remember chatting with him quite a bit, what I remember most was his smiling face and that I felt safe, comfortable and happy. As I moved into the very nice room, Pauline, my nurse, greeted me with a fantastic smile, gentle hands and wonderful conversation. There was also Sherri and Felicia helping me; two more beautiful kind people. At some point it was time for Pauline to go home, and I got the distinct feeling she wasn’t going to leave until she was sure the new nurse was ready to take over. I never once felt alone or worried.Soon I was in the very competent caring hands of Peir (and PCT Martine). During my stay, Peir was just amazing. She was professional, kind, always there when I needed her (or thought I needed her) and always with a great smile and energy surrounding her. There are so many other people who helped me through this painful surgery! And I enjoyed each one, always smiling and always great at what they were doing. My focus never seemed to be on pain, surgery or recovery--instead it was on the great conversations and smiling faces of the people at Holy Cross whos only goal it seemed was to keep me comfortable and safe. Its hard to believe just a week has gone by, and my memories of the major surgery is focused so much on the wonderful people who cared for me at Holy Cross (and of course, my Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Cantor and his assistant Haley, who are the best of the best)!Although I live in Palm Beach County, Holy Cross would be the only hospital Id go to if needed (hopefully not needed, but great to know they are there)!

I’m very annoyed with this hospital today . I believe it was Dr. Eliseo who took care of my boyfriend today . He could tell she was obviously in a rush which I understand she’s probably really busy . But if I take my boyfriend to the hospital or my family member I would like to know that they are being taken cared of . Not rushed out the hospital. All she did was give him some meds and took a urine sample when he actually is have really bad chest problems right now but she didn’t even bother to help him out with that. Completely useless honesty we could have went to some random walk in clinic for them to do the same thing . And then these people want to charge him 800$ for doing what ?! You haven’t helped us at all . You just gave us some pills . Thanks . I’m losing hope in the hospitals now a days and the doctors.

Excellent safety precautions for virus protection. Employees at every step in pre-op and post-op were efficient, cordial and communicative. I felt safe and ready to go home on the same day as surgery. Each doctor involved was wonderful. I am now recuperating at home feeling far better than I expected to.

My mother went to have a procedure, a peg tube replacement. They did not tell me the specifics of the of the procedure, namely the type of peg tube replacement. They replaced the durable peg tube we had (which theoretically could last for years and years) and instead gave me a totally different peg (a balloon peg) which was flimsy, quickly clogged and made it impossible to bolus feed my mom. For shame. You would figure they would talk to the family and caretakers, to determine whats the best fit.But they decided to go cheap and we have borne the cost. Multiple emergency room visits to have it replaced, for example. Did a complaint with the hospital but it went nowhere, they didnt consult me, ask my point of view. Nothing. And careful, as doctor after doctor seem to want to push my mom into hospice, which may explain their choice of peg tube. If your loved one is highly dependent, with a poor prognosis, be prepared.Well, a year later, my mom is alive and going, no thanks to the quality-of_life hit she suffered from this awful peg tube replacement procedure.

Went to the ER. The hospital might be in-network for your insurance, but you have no control over the physician who is out-of-network. Physician himself was polite and all, but not let me pay-hundreds-out-of-pocket-because-you-are-wonderful good.

My mom spent 3 weeks here and then I was there for a miscarriage last night. I have always had stellar care at Holy Cross. Staff were always patient and kind. My doctor provided me with 3 options and took my pref8into consideration. They listed when I said my pain had increased. They were compassionate and had great bedside manner. When my.mom was here they handle her beautifully. She has dementia and can get aggressive if very confused. They were amazing.

SCAM. i go to the hospital on Aug 14 and 15 for kidney stones removal that Dr Gorbatiy claims was a medical emergency but because they did not get approval from the insurance company now the hospital is holding me responsible for a $ 29824.56 bill. I have contacted the insurance company and they said they will were not informed it was as medeical emergency or was it written up as medical emergency and thats why it was not paid . However the hospital needs to rewrite the paper work up or send them my full medical record to insurance company. I have email the hospital several times about sending them the record and have not received a response back, but i still keep receiving their bill. I believed there was scam going on with Dr Gorbatiy and/ or the hospital and that why the insurance is not paying. if that was not the case then why not just the insurance company what they neededJust in case Holy Cross you want to get in contacted with me you have my info

I recently had a very poor experience after my mother was admitted to this hospital. The staff on the third floor were rude and unresponsive. My mother is a 82 year old that, at the time, was experiencing much confusion and the treatment we received when trying to advocate for her was horrible. Unfortunately, she was released in far worse condition than when when she was admitted.

I highly recommend Holy Cross Hospital Out Patient for having any blood tests or X-Rays your Doctor orders. In the past, I have used other facilities to have blood drawn for lab work. Even after scheduling an appointment ahead of time, I’ve waited up to an hour. I explained my frustrations with my Doctor. She told me, I could have my blood drawn at Holy Cross Out Patient. I decided to give it a try. My experience at the Out Patient part of Holy Cross have been above what I expected. The Out Patient Coordinators and Medical Staff have been the best. Everyone at Holy Cross works as a team to ensure every patient is their priority.

We had the best second childbirth at Holy Cross! The nurses on staff - specifically Linda, Julie and Melita were AMAZING and made the experience wonderful. The Lactation specialists are truly amazing and patient and made it possible for me to comfortably breastfeed our daughter. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!We also visited earlier this year after an accident and needed monitoring in L&D - Cassandra in labor and delivery was amazing! Made me feel comfortable and safe in a scary situation. Thank you Cassandra!

Everyone was so attentive and professional.I am super impressed.Small area that needs improvement is to have some food, such as a small sandwich, after outpatient surgery. A graham cracker is not enough.Come on, after not eating from 5 pm the day before and to come out of surgery at 1 or 2 pm, to not have a small meal or smack, seems like you are missing the boat from being a good hospital to a great hospital.Something for you to look at. I had a headache by that time. Sure I can miss a meal or 2, but as I said this separates the good facility from great.Irene Y
