Not only they have done things i cant do for myself like all this computer work and computer communication, but they also have shared so many encouraging words with me that if I mentioned everything i remember, it would still be an understatement! I wish i can take them both home with me. Nothing but the best and Ill say that any day of the year!!!!!!!!!! Much Love!!!!!!!!!!! -Sonny Baron

Destination Hope has been extremely beneficial to my recovery. The staff and therapists are very knowledgeable and caring. It is evident that they care deeply for their clients well being and recovery. Treatment is a very difficult process but they have shown extraordinary knowledge and made the experience that of one which has made me confident of success. I enjoyed the AA meetings and NA meetings while there and instilled the need to continue following the process. The facilities are clean and the food is very good which makes your stay much more comfortable than you would expect. I would definitely recommend Destination Hope to anyone who really wants to beat the disease of addiction.

Destination Hope is a good facility that has helped me more than any other place Ive ever been to. There are lots of groups so they keep you busy and try to help you instead of just wasting your time. The medical staff are all kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. The food is good. The facility is always kept clean. The techs are mostly nice but some are apathetic as to how clients are feeling. The doctors are great and very helpful when it comes to getting meds adjusted right. I had some problems with my therapist but made lots of progress with her. Overall Destination Hope is a great place and I would recommend it to eligible people who are struggling.

This place was so horrible for my daughter. She was suppose to be on the mental health side. No she was with the addiction side. She was there two months. She has went backwards. One call a week with supervision. They read her mail and decided whether she could have it or not. Not good communication at all. Try to tear families apart instead of working on coping with illness together for her to have a good life. Dont even agree to family night. Thought was therapy No it was ambush with all of us being the main attraction. No exit plan. She is to make her own appointments. She is so fragile now. I have never seen her like this. All they did is milk her for insurance money. Dont give me a reply you have changed. I just got her out of there 2 weeks ago. Shame on you all taking advantage of a person with mental illness.

I work with caring people that have heart for what we do. I read over all the reviews and remember most of the people that wrote them. I can say this, “when the student is ready, the teacher appears.” We are here waiting and willing to help when you’re ready. Our new ownership has been a wonderful transition for the better. When my dad got sick I got serious about getting sober. I had been to many places before DH, but none of them took the time and effort that this place did. Im kind of a brat with a loud mouth and dont like being told what to do. But the staff at DH never gave up and stayed calm with me. I felt for the first time (other than my parents) someone truly cared about me. Once I left sober, I went back to take care of my mental health. The facility is constantly growing and changing for the better. I honestly would be dead without DH. Best decision I ever made.

Best place to get sober in South Florida!!! The staff is amazing. I came into destination hope in December of 2020, the best decision I have ever made. When I first got there I was like nope nope I dont wanna be here. But I quickly realized that once you stop fighting and trust the process. You will be much better off. The therapist are all amazing. I learned so much about myself here, and realized that I dont wanna live the life I was living and started taking suggestions from the therapist and it changed my life. I just celebrated 7 months sober and I couldnt be here with out everybody at destination hope. If your serious about your recovery go to destination hope.

Destination Hope has changed my whole perspective on life. A particular therapist, Lystra, was extremely effective at taking me out of my selfish thinking, replacing it by having me try to understand things from my family’s point of view. Steve has a lot of compassion and respect. Nigel’s group was always fun. Bertha’s yoga groups taught me a lot about breathing exercises, which has been very therapeutic when it comes to my anxiety. Monya was always pleasant and nice to be around. Dan has groups that have helped me with copping skills that I can use outside of treatment. All of the techs were great. I didn’t attend PHP (groups on the outside) long, but the staff was wonderful. Gabe, Mo, Andrew, Tony, Kiera, Colleen, Bridget, and Josh were all professionals that genuinely cared about clients wellbeing’s. From the moment I came in all of the staff knew my name and were pleasant. There was even a good plate of food waiting on me.Groups last a total of 49.15 hours a week. It is group therapy ALL DAY, it gets redundant after a while, but that stage passes then people fall into a comfortable routine. After few week they offer outside groups, meetings (such as A.A and N.A), and little field trips (church, bowling, the beach, and ceramics painting are things that I enjoyed). The food is good, especially for a recovery center.Last but certainly not least, the medical staff. The nurses were all fantastic. As for the doctors, there are three that look after treatment plans, and I must say that they have hands down prescribed me with the best compensation of medications I have ever been on.Yes, I would recommend Destination Hope, but do expect to work on yourself, there is a lot of help given, but you still have to be motivated.

Terrible, terrible place. My sister was in the program. They gave her so many meds (8), she couldnt think. When I tried to get her to move to another program, she was too scared because they had her on so many meds, she couldnt function. When her insurance ran out, they sent her home, a mess! Worse than when she got there! They had group sessions which focused on their label or diagnosis, making them believe that was who they were instead of educating them about their symptoms and how to improve the quality of their life. They did not focus on the important basics of healthy diet or did not have a daily exercise program. Not a program for those who want to improve their lives. Do your research.

I was referred here by my insurance for rehab for my drug addiction. The entire time I was here, I got in trouble for even mentioning my drug addiction. Instead, I sat in a room full of other adults coloring in pictures about what anxiety means to us. AMAing was almost impossible, with everyone trying to milk me for insurance money. The therapist told me, with a very arrogant attitude, that all of my coping mechanisms were ineffective. Multiple staff told me that I would never stay clean if I left without completing their treatment. Which is completely inappropriate, in my opinion. They really made me feel useless and that they were my only savior. Im three years clean, which is interesting because apparently, I cant stay clean since I left here.

As a member of destination hopes alumni I can say that the alumni program is a big part of my recovery! I very rarely miss a meeting or event. The alumni meeting is honestly the best start/finish to every week and something I always look forward to. I even had the pleasure of being a speaker one Sunday and that was so important to me! I had never spoke before and honestly I didn’t want to but Matt the alumni coordinator encouraged me to share my story so I did and it was such a refreshing experience! I really give props to Matt! He plays such an important role in the aftermath of everyone’s treatment.. making it possible to stay connected and ensuring sober fun! Honestly the alumni program is a big reason why I am still here in Florida! I worry I won’t find the kind of sober support I have here back home. I have made some friends for life through the alumni events/meetings and I proudly show off my unique DH sobriety tags on my purse and they have started up some wonderful conversations! In conclusion, destination hope is my life line and I’m so grateful for how Matt goes above and beyond for us! So thanks for everything :)-Tiffany Ross

They try, some people are out for the money some are truly people who care. That being said, unfortunately it did not work for me; I am a person who believes we should celebrate every day of sobriety, not be punished with meetings on top of counseling on top of searches on top of more meetings . Feeling like prison and youre being punished for what u have done .I believe then we should not talk about drugs all day; instead play soccer- go to the beach- I was there for two weeks and did not see the beach. They give you $75 a week and groceries what is difficult considering you got to buy ketchup and napkins and bring your lunch every day so you got to buy a lunch bag.... No cable... and youre mixed in with mentally challenged people in the other program so sometimes you feel your safety is not concern of theirs. Dont get me wrong, there are some great people there and they truly care and Im sure program works for some people that need the structure and need help getting up on time and learning how to live life. When I felt that it was time to leave they sent me to the insane asylum for 5days through the Baker act. Worst time of my life trying to get sober and It wasnt from the drugs... Had to call 911 to get my stuff back eventually... My problem was with those who thank they know better than you even though theres about a hundred percent relapse rate at every one of these places. Again, if the persons off of drugs and trying to stay that way lets celebrate that. Just my two cents thank you for reading and dont let this deter you from getting help, just know this was my experience and there are other places if you are like me .

I attended Destination Hope from late August through early October of 2017. This was not my first attempt at sobriety nor my first attempt at an addiction recovery center. The staff here was incredible. Every tech truly showed passion for their job and for every person there. My therapist was incredibly knowledgeable and easy to relate with. Upon leaving, they set me up with the best plan for my success. While I did not follow that plan in its entirety, God stood by my side and kept me headed in the right direction. I am currently over 15 months clean and sober from all mind/mood altering substances, and am living life with a purpose. If it wasnt for Destination Hope, who knows where I would be today. I highly recommend Destination Hope to anyone who is struggling with addiction.

My experience at DH was very good. I have been to a total of 5 treatment centers and this was definitely the best. I believe that treatment is 100% what you make it, and if you have a bad attitude and are doing things for the wrong reasons then nowhere you go is going to be “good enough.” But if you truly want to change your life, the people at Destination Hope are caring, knowledgeable, and take pride in the work they do every day. If you get this place recommended to you or you get sent here, RUN FOR THE HILLS. GET. OUT. Its a giant scam, and they will straight up gas light you and your loved ones. I went there some years ago. Im finally starting to get my life together, but this place had nothing to do with it. It just made things worse. First of all, my roommate almost died in the middle of the night from choking on her own blood while having a seizure. I had to roll her on her side to keep her from choking. I kept calling for help but my other roommate wouldnt wake up and the nearest tech was BUILDINGS away. Thankfully, we eventually got a tech there, and she was taken to the hospital. I was in the menal health program, NOT the addiction program, but they still had us going to public AA meetings every night. AA meetings are free to attend and give this place a way to artificially fill out their scheduling. The AA meetings were unnecessary and the content of the meetings actually made a lot of the residents of Destination Hope very uncomfortable. When we said we wouldnt go to the AA meetings anymore, they basically told us to lead our own groups in the evenings then. DH also did frequent UAs (Urine Analysis) for every resident sometimes more than once a week. Do some research on how much theyre making from insurance companies off of your pee. Its insane. Jon Oliver has a good segment on it. Also also, the therapy was just generally awful. It was mostly group therapy and yoga. The group therapy had little to no structure and was sometimes led by techs. The techs were very nice people but they did not have formal psych education which makes them leading group therapy dangerous. They used taking away what little phone call time we had to punish bad behavior. The minimal phone call time kept residents from reporting what was going on at DH to their people on the outside, forcing many residents to run away to try and get help. I also witnessed frequent verbal and physical fights. Also also also, my individual therapist (who was GREAT) just disappeared one day, and DH couldnt get their story straight on where she went. I could keep going, but I think Ill leave it here for now. Do not send your loved ones here unless you want them to go through even more therapy afterwards than they would have otherwise.

I went to treatment 1 month after my Irish twin brother. I honesty didnt know what to expect being it was my first time in any type of treatment center. I didnt have a ride to the detox facility so they came and picked me up, which I was more than grateful for. From detox Jon picked me up and took me to the facility. First 30 days for the best 30 days of my entire life. A person named Vinny would come in every Tuesday and talk with us, he said get clean and watch what happens. If youre looking for the next great love, or financial freedom or just happiness in general get clean and then come talk to me. God those words ring out in my head to this day. Unfortunately statistics were right, the little brother did not make it but had almost one year of sobriety. Right now I now have a 5-month-old daughter, Casey and myself built a thriving business and were living on the intercoastal. This all came from simply doing the right thing, sticking to the rules. Unfortunately hes now gone but destination hope did their job quite well because I saw a side of my little brother that I had not seen in a very long time and for that I am forever grateful. Very dangerous facility everything is smoking mirrors. Be careful with sending the ones you love and care for here to this facility. If they call you and tell you how bad they want to leave or they are not receiving the help they need believe them get them out as fast as you can.Horrible for mental health treatment they will medicate you as much as possible. If that does not work they will baker act you and hope that helps. In the event it doesn’t it’s okay they will now restart the time you have been with them so they can continue to bill insurance for as long as possible.Everything is smoking mirrors and fake news. You will absolutely come out worse then when you came in.Look elsewhere for treatment don’t waste 30-45 days here.Let’s not forget when the joint commission came in to check this facility. Resulting in medical staff having to hide all stock medications in the bathroom in the medical department. But everything was okay we simply put a sign on the door that said “ out of service.” Later that day a client went to the bathroom finding all the medications hidden in the shower. That client was rushed to the hospital having their stomach pumped !!!Unsafe facility/ smoking mirrorsDon’t say I didn’t warn you...

Destination Hope Treatment Center saved my life. I am eternally grateful for the efforts of the talented and professional staff present there during my stay. Early on, a therapist told me that treatment centers are like a microcosm of the real world. You will meet all kinds of people, some that you get along with and others you will have to tolerate. I quickly learned that my experience there was completely dependent on my attitude and the amount of work I put into my sobriety and recovery from active addiction. It was not meant to be a vacation with luxurious amenities or any other similar expectations. So I can honestly say, in my experience, that the focus on the individual recovering from addiction is tremendous and sufficient enough for anyone who seriously wants to stay clean and sober. The staff to include; therapists, case managers, medical personnel, facilitators, and technicians were are all phenomenal. Exposure to A.A. and N.A meetings on a daily basis was essential to being introduced to recovered addicts outside the facility, so we can have good contacts after completing the program. The Alumni program allows me to stay in contact with my friends and newly recovered addicts and allows me to come back and share my experience, in order to pass on the message of hope and help someone who may be suffering. Thank you Destination Hope for giving me a second chance to have a meaningful life.

There are several things about DH which set it apart from the many treatment centers in South Florida. All the programs are gender specific, which allows the clients to really focus on treatment without all the distractions you typically find in a co-ed facility. The groups are kept small to provide an intimate treatment experience and plenty of attention for each client. The staff are certified and have solid credentials in addiction and mental health treatment but what really sets the program apart is the sincere care with which services are provided. DH is constantly seeking to use creative and personal interventions with their clients. The community at DH is a place where clients continue to interact with peers and professionals who are seeking the most out of a life dedicated to spiritual and personal growth. Many of our clients go on to attend The Academy at DH where they attend classes and prepare for a career in behavioral health treatment. Im a graduate of the Academy myself and am so grateful to have become a part of the DH family. Ive worked as a therapist at several other treatment centers in South Florida and I know that the management team at this facility provides a level of quality you will find no where else.

Be careful! I have a friend who was transferred to Destination Hope a few weeks ago from a nearby facility (Beachway), saying they recommended Destination Hope to be better equipped for her issues. She was at Destination Hope for less than a day before they Baker Acted her, putting her in the local hospital. They wouldnt take her back upon her release from the hospital, which is fine. The problem, however, is that they have KEPT the $17,500 that was given to them upfront for care for 1 month, and they are giving me the run-around about returning any funds. I have made at least 3 dozen phone calls, 2 dozen of which they hang up on your or leave you on hold or disconnect you. The multiple messages Ive left for Amanda or Cindy (the CFO) are not being returned. It looks like our next move is to get a lawyer involved.

Destination Hope literally saved my life. The alumni coordinator, Matt, contacted me almost every day for 3 weeks until he persuaded me to come back in to treatment and it was the best decision I have made in a long time. I came in broken and the girls in the community and the staff helped glue me back together and build me up so I left confident in myself and my ability to recover. You can find something wrong in every treatment center and same goes for DH- you have to want it for yourself. God does for you what you cant do for yourself, not what you CAN. If you put in the effort, the staff will reciprocate. Shout out to the best techs, Jeremy, Isabelle, and Sara.

I have two family members who have gone into treatment at DH (one in the womens center- she now has over 4 years clean & one in the mens who now has 6 months clean). They are completely different people since theyve gotten clean & I know they wouldnt have without destination hope. The therapists, receptionists, & techs have always been so kind & informative anytime Ive contacted them. I still go to the family therapy nights even after all these years. Im forever grateful for DH.

I had an amazing experience at Destination Hope. The treatment and therapy I received was outstanding. I learned how to deal with the deep seeded issues I had, not just my problems with drugs and alcohol. Also, I was able to still feel apart of society with outside meetings, fitness and weekend field trips. All the things I was taught and the work I put in at DH, prepared me for recovery on my own. I now have a life beyond my dreams, and I sincerely thank DH and the great staff.

I am so incredibly disappointed with this establishment. My sister in law was admitted for treatment of her bipolar disorder and on the first night the nurse practitioner did not give my sister her anti-psychotic medication!?! When the nurse was questioned why she did not give the medication she simply said it was over looked, theres a lot of paper work and I must have missed it! What!?! Simply over looked? This is an establishment they prides themselves on being a safe, hospital quality, treatment facility and they over look a vital medication for a patient and just say oops!?!The lack of professionalism is astounding. As if that wasnt bad enough when my sister became agitated because the meds that were keeping her stable were not given to her they locked her in a room by herself for 5 hours! 5 hours while she was having a panic attack before the nurse called anyone for help. I know what panic attacks feel like and I can not imagine what it would be like to be locked in a room by myself for 5 hours. I am in shock at the negligence this facility has displayed. Thank God she didnt hurt her self while locked in the room by herself. When the nurse finally notified the Dr. My sister was brought to the ER immediately and given the proper medication, then admitted to the hospital. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I came to destination hope from the the end of June to August 9th. I spent 45 days in php. At first i was in shock because i never had attempted to get sober. During my stay i was able to learn of valuable skill sets to battle my addiction. The staff there was amazing and helped me out daily in every aspect. I am forever grateful to have gone to such an inspirational treatment center and would recommend anyone trying to get sober to go there. I will be celebrating 6 months of sobriety in December. I can now live a life that i enjoy thanks to destination hope

Destination hope saved my life. I highly recommend this treatment center to anyone struggling. The staff and therapists are amazing. I still keep in contact with most people there and visit often. I was also able to leave there not only with my head above water but with life long friendships and support. The structure and the honesty here is exactly what I needed. I am beyond grateful and thankful for destination hope.

Great place, their PHP program was beautiful. My room had a beautiful view of the lake and the pool was always clean and relaxing. Throughout treatment I learned coping skills and how to live life as an adult. Ive been to rehab several times but DH understood that I had other issues and not just drugs. I couldnt stop using because I never dealt with the other issues and thanks to DH I have 5 months clean.

This place is OK if you really want to detox from substance abuse . It’s a comfortable place with your own tv and rec rooms . But if your trying to go there for mental health reasons stay away , it feels like they want to hold you against your own will ... every morning they wake you up at 6 am “ yelling “ medication “ ... medication... medication is all I heard and was the first words woken up with . Food is terrible and taste less .

Destination Hope is a great place to go for treatment and will give you the resources to overcome addiction. My sister is a Veteran and has been addicted to narcotics for about 15 years and went here for help. She made great strides in her recovery in the PHP program, however, when they decide that they cant help you, or you need more than what they can offer they wash their hands of you and toss you out. My sister needed hospitilized for a period of time. DH refused to take her back so upon her discharge she returned to pick up her belongings before checking into a different program. DH never secured her belongings so she was missing several items, and they gave her back her drugs of choice knowing her addiction. She proceeded to check into a hotel and overdosed that night. Luckily she was saved and will now be going into a different program. DH is a great program, but be careful if they decide they can no longer help you

Destination hope is a treatment center that is structured perfect. I arrived barely alive. I spent 35 days in detox residential. There I was able to get physically healthy and introduced to structure and self care the second phase was casa I was taught how to shop responsibly and budget. I learned to care for myself with the supervision of the BHT and staff. I learned more about my disease and its attacks on my brain. I learned several coping skills to manage issues I once wasnt able to cope without drugs or alcohol. We practice integrity, mindfulness and healthy lifestyle routines. FromThis phase I entered my third phase which was IOP and the Cottages. I strongly recommended the cottage for sober living . the place is beautiful and peaceful and the privilege to remain focused on the journey by co existing with peers youve built a rapport is extremely important.. The accountability is vital in early recovery. The amenities are priceless. Yoga, chiropractor and mind alive. The transport to andfrom the Center and shopping. Plus weekly doctor visit . I learned how to live to understand why I am the way I am and to love life and myself. Healthy boundaries for myself and others. Medicine compliance and how to have fun SOBER I laugh on a daily basis now. This is a place for people who want to recover. Those who dont succeed did not appply themselves. Simple loving caring respectful staff exceptional therapist. Its not club med, or five star resort. Its treatment. The focus is on health care not impress folks. I owe my life to DH. I would bring my own child if any of them needed help. I highly recommend it.

Hello to anyone that suffers from a addiction of drugs or alcohol. I’m a 56 year old male and have suffered with this disease since the age of approximately 18. And to say suffered is putting it mildly. I’ve personally been detoxed & followed up with many rehabs after. All attempts have failed and I felt that ending my life was my only solution. I could go on and on but will spare you of what you already know what I mean. As a last ditch effort I was sent to Destination Hope in Florida. I was amazed at the staffs ability from techs to Doctors to treat me as a human but at the same time get to the root cause of my addiction & behaviors I can say without any hesitation that they saved my LIFE and nursed me back to health mentally , physically , & emotionally. If you truly seek nonsense help , call destination Hope before its to late. J.McMullin

So, I recently was admitted to this program and quickly found out it was the worst decision of my life. I went there and the staff seemed ok but they all seemed to be faking it. Then I was talking to my therapist and found out that the owner was not paying them! What a joke they billed my insurance and the owner just kept all the money for himself. Then they moved me to a place called casa. Their PHP program but funny there isn’t even a license for that place. I called DCF and they said “they would look into it” I seriously doubt it. I will close with this. If you are considering go here or sending a loved one, DON’T DO IT!!!! There are soooo many better places and you won’t get screwed over.

Facility was extremely helpful and supportive of all my needs. Not only was the staff professional and the client community super supportive but I was introduced to so many different activities and techniques to help with anxiety, depression, etc. I never tried yoga until i came to DH and i immediately fell in love with the class. The instructor, Berta, is very wise in the art of yoga and was really able to help me when it came to distressing or dealing with certain anxieties and dilemmas in my life. Overall i would say Destination Hope is a safe haven for people looking to take their lives back from the grips of substance abuse or mental illness. the support, the knowledge learned, and the motivation you will gain from DH is unparalleled by any other means to beat this fight. Knowledge of Meetings and the 12 steps was very helpful but mos importantly the bond you will have from the community you grow in will shape you into a better human being than you might have ever imagined.

When I first got here, I hated this place, but now that Ive been here for awhile Ive realized how much this place has benefited me. That was most likely a run-on sentence. Dont come to DH to correct grammatical errors, only to better your life. I would have given this place 5 stars, but I prefer even numbers. Ive been here for quite awhile, and the only people whom Ive seen here who didnt improve their lives, were the people who didnt seem to want to. If youre willing to put in the work to improve your life here, theyll make it happen. I took part in both the sylvia brafman program as well as the destination hope side, both fantastic. Mental illness or drug problem, youve found your destination.

After spending 5 months in this facility I definitely got quite a bit out of the therapist as well as my peers, although as everyone knows whenever youre in a PHP you feel like everything sucks however once I got out all the things that I learned started to take place in the real life situations. To be honest I didnt have to be there for five months I wanted to be there and they actually tried to coin me out 4 individual times however I knew I needed to be there longer. The processes they have in place definitely will help you but unfortunately, as reality is, you have to actually want to succeed or else all of it is pointless. Basically if you want to fail you can do that anywhere but if you want to succeed this is definitely one of the places that will help you do exactly that.

Worst place! Do not go there. Destination Hope should be renamed Destination Nope. They are very unorganized and their accomadations are filthy and filled with roaches. They are rude and slam doors in clients faces. They dont start the day until after ten oclock. They treat behavioral health clients as less than clients. They handle medicine dangerously and could easily mistake medications between clients in their transport and transfer methods. Their medical staff and office staff for the most part are those that cannot get hired at a real rehabilitation center. They LIE LIE LIE to get you to come to their rehab. It is all about the money there, not about you or your recovery. This place is a joke. It should be shut down.
