The Jacob Center does not take their place in the community lightly. Coaches are trained and knowledgeable in subjects including trust intervention, resiliency, and trauma. Meetings between youths and families use community involvement to naturally encourage mindfulness and resiliency. The goals and outcomes of coaching are recorded and monitored by DHS, leading to multiple levels of highly informed care. The Jacob Center works hard to address the needs of the Northern Colorado community at an extremely sensitive level.

I can not say enough amazing things about our experiences with Jacob Center. My daughter’s mentor Melissa was the best thing that happened during a very difficult time. She is professional, caring, and exactly what she needed. The girls group program she was in was invaluable and helped her connect with others when she thought she was alone. I do not know what I would have done without the resources the Jacob Center provided for my daughter. It gave our family such a piece of mind through many chaotic times. I highly recommend them and would give 100 stars if I could.

This thought came about today talking with someone. I was 15 and at a house located on 420 Main St in Longmont. My foster mom was Deb, I do not remember her last name. My therapist was Brittany. I was not a perfect kid I had trauma and issues and I remember one time Brittany opened up a big book of diagnosis not knowing me very well and saying lets see whats wrong with you. I remember the food being locked up, I remember all the girls at the group home being unhappy. Deb overdosed me on seroquel when she had given me my medications plenty of times I went to the hospital it was never reported to my family or my GAL. She was emotionally abusive to all of us and once they started investigating what was happening in the house Deb quit running the group home. She got away with so many awful things. I hope the Jacob Center has cleaned up there act and that these kinds of things are no longer happening. I am happy to say my life is great now but I cannot say the same for the other girls I knew that were in this group home with me.

We have had a great experience with the Jacob center so far. We work with Jon for one on one and Suriya/Justin for group. They are always professional, prompt, and very understanding. The activities are very fun and well planned. Jon is always extremely accommodating. The only (minor) issue I have is that my son (13) is not a troubled kid by any meas and does this program for other reasons but he is in a group with boys that are 16/17 and much more experienced.. I feel that the groups could be organized a little more to be age appropriate as I feel the difference in a 13 yr old vs a 17 yr old is huge on many levels. Otherwise, their mentor program truly is great.

Not scheduleing visits on there word, or at all in a week. Not sure what the problem is but in a month I should be able to see my son more than twice..... I’d look at other options if you are considering this option.

I had a foster kiddo who had a mentor named israa through Jacobs Center, she seen the foster every Thursday but needed to inform me prior. Israa on a Friday asked me if she could take the foster child out of school early, I said “no” multiple times and she wasn’t listening, I finally told her I’d be at the school to pick her up and israa said she would stay at the school with her until I got there. I went to pick my foster up from school and israa had taken her off school property. Israa refuses to tell me where they were for I could pick the Foster up, she argued with me, told me she was part of a “legal team” which she is not, I told her I needed the foster back ASAP and she told me they were doing something and it took her 20 minutes. I’m disgusted because the night prior Thursday israa came over to hang out with foster since she was “only available on Thursdays” per herself, I was in the process of cooking dinner and right before dinner was ready israa took the foster for ice cream WITHOUT asking me then it took an hour for her to return with the foster. The Foster later told me israa cried to her about how she broke up with her boyfriend and she was so upset, which made my foster upset. I tried reaching out to Jacobs center the following morning with no luck and have waited a month for a return phone call which I still haven’t gotten. The staff that runs Remington house (through Jacobs center) is also a little bit of an uneducated joke. I’m truly disappointed with Jacobs center all around and hopefully israa doesn’t work with children anymore because it’s very unsafe and unstable with how she acts and responds to foster children.
