Awful. This is my first experience with them after my previous broker retired. My phone appointment in Nov was okay, polite, but I didnt feel like they added any value. Still, at least they helped me change my health plan for 2021. Right? WRONG! There was no written confirmation of the change by early Dec, so I emailed for confirmation. All I got was a brief note correctly stating the name of the plan I wanted to change to, but nothing official looking. So I double-checked directly with the insurance company, and they said there was no record of the change! It has been 3 weeks, so they said it should be in their system and recommended I contact the broker (Sage). So I sent another email, got no response, so I called and expressed my concern. I was assured that someone would call me back by the end of the day but no one did. Who knows if or when I might hear back from them, so now Im trying to get the plan changed directly with the insurance company -- Ive been on hold for 3+ hours and am still waiting. I know thats because open enrollment ends in less than 2 weeks, but thats why I (thought I) took care of this in Nov. I thought a broker was supposed to make signing up for insurance easy, but this has been just the opposite. I would have been better off dealing with the insurance company directly back in Nov.

As someone with quite a bit of insurance experience I thought that signing up for individual insurance would be relatively simple, but it wasnt. I spent a lot of time getting pointed in different directions and getting inaccurate information from insurance carriers 800 numbers when I asked about approved providers, how benefits works, etc. Within 10 minutes of speaking with Steven at Sage Benefits I had all the info I needed to make a decision about the plan that was the best fit for me. Garrett was beyond amazing. I am turning 26 and am aging out of my parents insurance. He helped us navigate the process and come up with a plan that worked within our budget, and acted as an advocate when we were having enrollment issues between the marketplace and the insurance company. It’s nice to “have a guy” (or gal) with this kind of stuff, even if you have some previous experience with it; it’s amazing how complicated and dynamic it is, especially when the government is involved. I have obtained health insurance for my family through the Colorado Health Exchange since its inception and it used to be so much work and stress to manage the system myself. I easily spent 30 hours on the phone over the course of the year trying to obtain information for dental and health plans. Last year, I started using a broker at Sage to navigate the process for me and while I have access to the same plans at the same cost, the amount of time and emotion I have spent on securing and managing my familys coverage and enrollment has gone down to about an hour a year. And, theyre agents who are compensated through their industry so Im essentially getting this service for free. SO HELPFUL. I work with Chelsea in this office and highly recommend her.

SCAM or useless cant tell. Called for future health insurance options. Nora kept trying to sell HMOs claiming thats all northern Colorado has, even though there were dozens of other options when I called a national broker. If all I wanted was options available through Colorado Market Place I wouldnt have bothered calling around looking for other options.To their response: you openly admitt there are other options out there but they were never mentioned, even in comparison to why your products are better, big if on that. Its obvious you are only being paid to sell those insurance plans and do not have the customers interest as your focus.
